I've been coming here for years but this is the first time I'm leaving a review! Everyone is so…read morenice and the food is great! It's a typical Italian deli, there's a few tables in the main area and someone off to the side if you want to eat in! They are so much more than just deli food, they have a full catering menu and everything I've ever had from them has been delicious! Today I got the Il Padrino which has prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and basil! So good and the bread is perfect for a panini! Definitely consider Alfredo's for all of your catering needs!

This may be one of the most positive food/people/local business experiences that I have ever had…read more I encourage you, truly, to enjoy this traditional neighborhood Italian deli - where they REALLY cook (and more importantly) and take pride in their work in addition to taking an interest in their customers. As I was leaving today from my first (and definitely not my last) lunch visit, I told the awesome staff "I hope to have reason to host a catered party so I can call you." *** The look and feel of this place screams of "home" to me. I'm from NJ and miss the true delis in every neighborhood. No offense to the Litchfield Hills, but I don't want books, artwork for sale, or jazz in my deli - and I sure don't want prefabricated sandwiches that are trying to inspire my esoteric side. Alfredo's just hits home. Home cooking. Very generous portion. Fantastic bread/rolls. Staff that made my experience great beyond expectation (they even gave me a sample of the day's special panini for my feedback... spoiler alert, it was terrific)! From what I tried today, everything was good. But the chicken cutlet is literally worth the drive from anywhere.

Ah, I am utterly charmed! This cafe / eclectic tchotchke store is chock full of homemade goodness:…read morefrom jam, soap, and crocheted cozies in the store section, to sandwiches, salads, cupcakes, Lebanese baklava, and other baked goods in the cafe section. They bake everything in house, with specials on some days (e.g. Sweet Bun Sunday). The selection is vast, especially considering that everything is scratch made in-house. Aromas are enticing! We picked up an orange cranberry dream bar, studded with plenty of white chocolate chips, coconut, and dried cranberries, topped with orange cream cheese frosting and more dried cranberries. It was *enormous* and easily served as dessert for four. Also in our order: a streusel topped blueberry cake, as moist as could be and filled with fresh blueberries. It was also generously proportioned, large enough for at least two. We didn't try any salads, breakfast platters, or sandwiches on this visit, but they looked fantastic, based on what I saw on other customers' plates. I found that the super friendly owners are of Lebanese descent when I asked about the Lebanese baklava at checkout -- and evidently, they sometimes have Lebanese meat pies on offer! I cannot wait to come back to try every Lebanese food item they have, since my family is passionately fond of the cuisine (and really, everything else, too). I had no idea such riches could be found in Torrington! You can't throw a rock without hitting an Italian-American in this town -- not that I would ever throw a rock at an Italian-American :) -- but this is the first I've heard of a Lebanese-American contingent in these parts. I'm so glad Yelp led me here!

The mixed berry French toast was amazing and I love the breakfast potatoes! The strawberry and blueberry cinnamon roll I got to go was so so good! My boyfriend loves the coffee! ITALIAN COLD CUT GRINDER: -- medium size -- soft bread that is thick and holds up to the meat and dressing easily -- I like that it does NOT have that crunchy hard exterior crust -- I added more Italian dressing from our side salad to get it nice and wet style -- in hindsight I wish I had asked to add additional meats to make it even more diverse and interesting -- another sandwich shop that has gone the way of the Do-do bird used to pile on the meat...I do not need that, but I do like a very diverse Italian grinder with about 4-5 different meats on it -- the pruzitini (black pepper heavy per the net) was as the sandwich maker said "not too black pepper" once everything assembled...I do not like black pepper too much -- cheesecakes and waffle cone cheesecakes looked okay but I am a Basque, ricotta or Chicago cheesecake fan -- cannoli appeared fresh via firm shell but looked light on choc chips, so I vetoed RATING = A NARDELLI's ROOTBEER (yellow label): -- lighter carbonation -- medium sweet or tad more -- not sarsaparilla tasting unfortunately -- slightly old skool taste more like IBC RATING = A- Dad liked his SAUSAGE and PEPPERS grinder. SMALL SIDE SALAD: -- good mix of chopped mixed bell peppers -- romaine and leaf lettuce it appeared -- pepperoncini, shroom, tomatoes -- legit Italian oily dressing RATING = A- STAFF polite and efficient.
