AMBIANCE: There are three dining areas -- an outdoor patio, a newly renovated, modern dining room, and the original dining room filled with colonial-inspired furniture. The service is great, but since it's a pretty small place the waitresses might be pretty busy so just be patient. With that said, seating is fairly limited on a busy Friday/Saturday night or if they are having a special for dinner, so definitely make reservations! We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.
