The place is a nice little spot to come to after a long day of anything they have nice workers here and service is good along with the food being affordable, and a good quiet space for those that isn't usually good with chaotic places

This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately I did not have a great experience my first time. They're supposedly a cafe and bakery - but they somehow ran out of whole milk and there was no decaf (one of our party was pregnant so couldn't have a full coffee). Instead, we ordered the chai tea which came highly recommended, but that was just the beginning... They warned us it would take a while to make. "A while" ended up being close to 30 minutes. Originally asked for an iced chai but they gave us a hot chai instead. It tasted fantastic but wasn't what we ordered! However, the staff are lovely and very nice people. It's a very slow pace so I'd go elsewhere if you're in a rush. Hope to have a better experience if I ever come back.

How have I never been here before ?!!! It's a hidden gem in Torrington!! I was so hungry when I arrived and wanted to order everything!! My son just had an orthodontist appointment and couldn't eat much, so one of the employees recommended one of her drink creations! It was delicious!! The owner was so friendly and had my food out in just a few minutes! I thought the prices were really good too! I can't wait to go back!

I've had several takeout lunches from Cafe' 38 in Torrington in the past few months. Mostly salads, but also some wraps & sandwiches. The place is consistent, it makes solidly good food with fresh & quality ingredients. Soups are excellent also. The owner is sweet, and it is obvious she loves what she does. I highly recommend Cafe' 38 for lunch. FYI: street metered parking.

They're always fresh and very good size. It looks like any typical donut shop that you've been to. Nothing really stands out except that really intense smell of FRESHNESS. So good in the air. Three service is also always great. They're so kind and genuine here. Always great hospitality and very nice people serving you. They have some deal that they sell you the donuts at a discounted rate after like 5 or 6 o'clock . Something like that. I was so surprised that they offer this. I still remember the first time here when they told me about that and I took advantage of it and bought more than I originally planned on getting. I think it's a great concept I've never encountered elsewhere and think more donut places should adopt their truly great concept. Makes sense instead of throwing donuts away at the end of the day. Almost forgot to mention their coffee. It's so good for just a donut shop. It has such rich full body taste. Such a great place to frequent. Love you people here :-)

Go back to your foreign language school days, and maybe you'll remember that it means "little bear" in Spanish. That's likely why there are cute little bears all over the walls of Ositos. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the two couples that own Ositos. Tanya and Juan Sanchez, and Xavier and Sandra Patino fondly remembered the little ice cream, shaved ice, and fruit shops in their native Ecuador and decided to take a chance on recreating that friendly neighborhood vibe in Torrington. You'll find their shot at the American Dream in a distinctive purple building on the busy corner of Main Street and North Elm. The store is across the street from Walgreen's Pharmacy in an old tailoring shop. There are two tables and some counter seats available. Their products include hot dogs, fruit plates, ice cream sundaes, smoothies, and shakes with plenty of toppings. Mango ice cream is a particular favorite of their customers. We sat inside and enjoyed two small cups of ice cream at around $4.50 each. My wife had a combination of Coffee Chip and Cookies and Cream, while I had a small cup of Orange-Pineapple with Chocolate sprinkles. The ice cream was excellent-smooth and creamy, non-granular, with great flavor and texture. The young lady that served us was super friendly and helpful and offered s plenty of flavor samples. In fact, the space doesn't look much different at all from the way it was laid out under Fosters. Rush Bowls sells two categories of food -$8 Smoothies and $10 Rush Bowls in dozens of variations and permutations. Let's start with their Smoothies. There are seventeen smoothies broken down into four basic categories of Acai, Signature, Rejuvenate, and Juice (Apple or OJ). They have different combinations of fruit (mango, blueberry, peach, banana, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, dragon fruit, coconut, liquids (milks, juices),and an assortment of extras (granola, honey, kale, spinach, granola, acai, peanut butter, whey, frozen yogurt, chocolate sauce, avocado, espresso, and even lemonade). Their twenty juice based Bowls are similar, and you eat them with a spoon instead of a straw. My wife ordered the PB Crunch Smoothie with Banana, Peanut Butter, Granola, Milk and Froyo. I had a sip and loved its distinctive peanut flavor. I went with a Dragon Bowl of Dragon fruit, Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry, Coconut Milk, Apple Juice, chocolate sauce, and three toppers - Granola, Honey and Almonds. I liked it a lot, it had great flavor and plenty of crunch from the granola and almonds. We chatted with the two young ladies who were preparing our order and learned the store had only been open for a few weeks. Apparently, they are busiest lunch time when the locals come in for a quick to go order. My Bowl was pretty filling, so I definitely saw how it is becoming popular as a lunch option.

First visit to the O Joe's North location - understanding I/we love the original. It exceeded every possible expectation. Food is terrific - has the same standard as Watertown, but our wings were cooked even better. Fresh, hot, crispy, juicy. Definitely the best Ordinary Joe's wings we've had (and we have a lot of them, often). The food options are clearly rooted in the original concept. However, there are some more/different options here. Everything looked and smelled fantastic. I look forward to investigating further. Our server, Vanessa, earned 25 stars on her own. She was attentive, personable, yet worked quickly and accurately - manning a full bar and dining room simultaneously - while making us feel like we were the only ones in the joint. Manager/(Owner?) Paul was terrific as well. Stepped in to ensure all tables had what they needed, were clean, and everyone happy. It was truly noticeable that customer service is a priority for the team. Building is new/redone/beautiful. Similar, iconic O Joe's feel and decorating - yes, the gridiron is painted on the ceiling. Just a great space. Great vibe. Eat-off-the-floor clean. Simply can't wait to go back. And, again, I am so lucky to have proximity to both locations. **Just one note for families who may go with children or teenage boys (like me)... The service is so great, no one at the table will have an empty glass for long... that's a really positive thing. But, fair warning, soft drink refills are NOT free (nor should they be, frankly). However, with an 18 and 16 yr old in my party...those Cokes accumulate quickly.
