Came in on a Sunday a few weeks ago. Very busy but everything was really good. Really bummed though that they only serve breakfast on Sundays. It was almost noon when we arrived and had long since had breakfast and was ready for something different. We weren't too familiar with the area and looking for a lunch spot and so glad this was it! We had a friendly server, the food far exceeded our expectations both in quality and quantity! Huge portions and everything was delicious. They had cute decor and were kind enough to bring my mother in law a complimentary cupcake when they learned it was her birthday. It was the perfect spot and I'd definitely recommend to others for breakfast or lunch...half of us got breakfast and the other half lunch! All was great. Let's start with the place is cute and the place is clean. Wait staff is pleasant but not super efficient. Went for breakfast 2 days in a row and breakfast took about 45 minutes to come out. The place was not crowded either day. We had mixed experiences with the food. The avocado toast came with very hard, unripe avocados. Please tell us you can't serve avocado toast at this time because you don't have edible avocados in the kitchen instead of sending me an inedible dish. Fruit salad had moldy fruit ( both days). I'm not recommending you not eat here. The place had a lot to offer but it's time to tighten things up a bit. Do give them a try. Disappointing. This place used to be good. First, we waited 25 minutes without anyone coming to our table. We said something to the manager but she basically blew us off because she was busy with a bridal shower. Without even asking g which table was ours, she said our waitress was taking another order. A few minutes later, I could see 4 waitresses looking our way and debating whose table it was. It was clear no one wanted the table and didn't care that we weren't being served. After another 5 minutes, the girl working the front counter/register came over. Took another 10 minutes to get our coffee because she started working the counter again. When food came out, she dropped one meal. It took over 20 minutes to replace that meal. Clearly, no one saw urgency to get meal replaced asap. Other meals were not good. "Omelets" were tough and overcooked. Onions in western omelet were completely raw and smelled like they had been cut and out in the open for some time. Poached eggs had hard yolks. After getting our meals, no one came back unless we practically tackled them to get a coffee refill. This place used to be packed on Sunday mornings. I guess our experience is not uncommon now, as there were several empty tables during our entire time there. After searching for a while for a place to accommodate a large party, I found Paul Gregory's. They have ample seating and a great outside area to take food out. After seeing their English muffins being sold, I knew I had to try the egg sandwich. It absolutely did not disappoint. Their pancakes and French toast were equally great. I would have liked to see a kids menu with a drink included but their prices weren't bad at all. A member of our party ordered the omelet and it seemed they didn't cook the ingredients with the egg, only put on afterwards. Not my cup of tea but luckily didn't have it. Paul Gregory's is a cozy bistro in a factory setting. Besides having a restaurant area,they also have a bakery area with grab and go food as well. The bakery area has a large assortment of generous portion cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes, breads, etc. I would have like to have seen prices shown on their bakery items. We came for breakfast and I chose the Banana Foster French Toast topped with roasted bourbon candied pecans. It was very good, but a bit on the sweet side compared to others that I've had. My wife had the Between the Bread. Two eggs, cheese, and bacon on their homemade english muffin. The eggs,and bacon were cooked to perfection, and their homemade English muffin without a doubt, was the best English muffin she has ever had. My friend and I de used we wound meet up for breakfast. I was excited because I had not been to Paul Gregory's in years. As a matter of fact I didn't really recognize it. It was new, modernized, big. Last time I was there was still in the small older location. Now, it's walking distance to Perkatory by the trail. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays! Many tables and room to seat others. We went on a Saturday and didn't need to wait to be seated. Our waitress was so nice. Loved that they had GF options. I had the Flatboy ( GF cauliflower breakfast pizza) and I loved it! It was different and filling! Prices are great too. They offer breakfast and lunch. When you walk in you are welcomed by these delicious sweet treats that look so good! Food took a while to come out. Had a family Easter Breakfast on Sunday. We were a large party of 13. Everybody was very happy with their food. The homemade hash was was the best we've ever had reported by many family members. This is a very busy restaurant for Sunday brunch. We decided to wait for a table as we were pretty hungry. They only serve the breakfast menu on Sundays. Would have been nice to have more options to choose from the lunch menu also, but it's ok. Hubby & I got the smoked salmon on an open bagel, and that was pretty good. A great brunch spot in Southington. Apparently, it is slightly bigger than it used to be with a fairly recent move, but you still may wait 15 minutes or so for a table on the weekend. I stopped by a little over a month ago with some friends, one of whom lives in the area. I ordered the signature flat boy per recommendation of my friend's husband. It was egg, bacon, cheese, onions, and bell pepper on a cauliflower flatbread. It was so delicious and I still had a quarter to take home as well. It was completely loaded with the toppings. Went this past Saturday, was so disappointed. Not only because we waited almost an hour after our waitress took our order but the food was cold. No one even came to ask us if we wanted more tea (its supposed to be bottomless) $40 for two with tax and tip. Someone came over and said because it was busy and they put orders in by the registers, that ours must have been put in after a lot of other orders. I was pretty disappointed with this place.. the reviews look good but I can't recommend it. I had the Three Eggs with Bacon and Home-fries. The Bacon and Home-fries were fine but the eggs were the worst. I asked for an omelet and it was watery in the inside. I figured I would still try it because "perhaps it was how they make it"... half way through eating it I had to go to the bathroom because it made me so nauseous. I love this place. I had been on a diet for two weeks and needed a break from drinking shakes on my day off. I had the Hangover Bowl, which has brisket!, eggs and taters. Delicious! I was there with someone, but who cares what she had? This is my review! Been here twice now. It's been great both times. Breakfast includes what is called bottomless coffee. Took the Mrs here for a birthday breakfast. Such a cute little bistro gem with unique dishes and yet the prices were actually better than most diners. Beautiful and yet simple decor with fall wreaths handmade and for sale by a local florist.( love businesses that are aware and support local talent) The Mrs only had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich ( she's very particular about crispy bacon). Home made english muffins (amazing) and the taste, and quality of each ingredient made such a simple sandwich spectacular. (Can't believe I'm saying this much about a BE&C) I had the jalapeño biscuit ( homemade) with sausage gravy with two eggs over easy. The gravy and biscuit combination is a breakfast marriage made in heaven and it's the first time I didn't need to ask for hot sauce. The plate was just as cheap as a regular diner's breakfast plate. After our visit to Witchdoctor Brewing, we walked into Paul Gregory's for lunch. By the time we walked out, we had been quite favorably impressed. It has a good amount of seating, but is more than a restaurant - it has a big bakery section and grab and go take out dishes from a big refrigerator in the back. We ordered two $7.99 sandwiches for lunch - an Apple Valley BLT and a Center Street Favorite (house-baked cherry cola ham, with Swiss and Dijon). We split a side of fries for $1.99. The sandwiches were thick with thick cut applewood bacon and that cherry cola baked ham, which was quite delicious. My only quibble was the Dijon which was way more fiery than I expected, and I like hot as much as anyone. In fact, I had to wipe off some of the extra mustard from my sandwich -something I don't ever remembering having to do in my lifetime. We picked up two of their housemade English muffins and some Smores blondies, and I can tell you they were both excellent. This place is GREAT! It is CHEF-owned and CHEF-run. The lobster benedict is cray. Definitely worth the price. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait after ordering because it's all scratch-made. Be patient. They also have homemade baked goods, breads, and English muffins. And it's right on the Farmington Trail so you can bike or walk there depending on where you are located. The service was warm and welcoming; our drink orders were taken in a reasonable amount of time. They offered limited breakfast options after noon so we chose lunch options. My husband ordered a BLT on ciabatta and I ordered a Flatboy with sautéed spinach, grilled chicken, roasted tomatoes and cheese on a cauliflower crust. Just like everywhere else we've been, it seemed to take a long time for the food to come. The flavor of the chicken, spinach and tomatoes was wonderful. The crust was tough. This is my go to breakfast spot. They make everything homemade and it's always fresh. They are known for their huge homemade English muffins and the variety of enormous eggs benedict's. Their lobster benedict and steak benedict are beyond any benedict's I've ever seen before. The hollandaise sauce is perfect, not salty, not sour, just right, which can be difficult to do. A tad pricey leaning about $20 or less, but it's quite a yummy experience. The breakfast pizza is also a good choice! Eggs, cheese, bacon or sausage, with peppers on a flatbread, it's only $10! The space is small, so time it right. Go for early breakfast or a tad later, they close at 2pm on Sundays, so beware. They also have a nice selection of pastries, cakes, and other desserts, including cannolis-yum! It's hard to go for breakfast and not get a cannoli for dessert. The service may not always be the best, but that's only because there are only usually 2-3 people on the floor taking care of all the customers, so be prepared to wait for your food, but no worries, it will be worth it. read more

Really torn about this review so let me break it down. Pro's: Food was good. CB Hash was very tasty and omelettes were fluffy and used fresh ingredients. Server was pleasant Cons: Slow Service - took an hour for us to get our food. Cramped - cafe style dining in small space Grease factor - my fiancees egg white, mushroom and swiss omelette was literally swimming in a pool of oil which was big turnoff. Same can be said for my has but not nearly as bad as the omelette. Bad Service - our waitress took order from couple who arrived after us which wouldnt have been so bad if she was more attentive towards us. I drank my water within 10 min of arriving and she never filled it again, didnt even ask. I got the feeling that this restaurant is still trying to find itself. Is it a cafe? A Bakery? A Coffee Shop? Previous reviews complaining about the wait and lack of service were accurate. Yet still, I didnt think the food was bad, just that they missed on execution.
