There is not one thing I don't like about this coffee shop! Everything was absolutely perfect, from the breakfast empanada to the creative and delicious drinks. Decor is so well fought out with tiny details everywhere. Service was absolutely inviting, friendly, and thoughtful. The merch is adorable! The specials board really displays the artistic genius of some of the folks working here. I'm floored by the Art! Can't wait to come back again.

I was curious about the new Perkatory so I recently stopped in. I think most types of coffee drinkers will be happy with the new Perkatory. It's new. Looks cool. There's plenty of seating. Service was reasonably good. Plenty of parking. There are specialty beverages -- hot and cold. I have many friends who are big Perkatory fans and I get it. I am a cold coffee drinker and I prefer black iced coffee made with single origin beans. I am not a fan of Perkatory's pricing for black cold coffee. Perkatory does not offer true iced coffee, which means coffee brewed hot and then chilled. Unless you count Iced Americano's, (which is espresso mixed with ice and/or cold water and has a different vibe), Cold Brew (which involves steeping coffee at room temperature for about 15 hours) is Perkatory's least expensive cold coffee option. For places that offer both iced coffee and cold brew, iced coffee is usually priced lower than cold brew. By way of comparison, Perkatory charges the following for these sizes of hot coffee 12oz/16oz/20oz -$2.85/$3.35/$3.85. For the same size cups, Perkatory charges $4.50/$5.00/$5.50 for cold brew. Since there's ice in the cup, you're paying substantially more and getting less coffee when you get cold. Perkatory sells iced lattes as well for just $.25 more than cold brew at each size. Lattes require considerably more effort on a per drink basis than iced coffee or cold brew. In addition some of the ingredients added to lattes would be more expensive than the coffee. So one would think they would be substantially more expensive than black cold coffee. For these reasons, Perkatory's pricing for black cold coffee doesn't make sense for me. I note that I buy high end coffee over the internet and have experimented with cold brewing, and traditional iced coffee making. Cold brewing is fairly simple. One method is not necessarily better than the other. Although in my experience, for high quality coffee beans, doing a home hot pour over generally produces better tasting coffee than the cold brew method. Given these pricing practices, Perkatory would not be my usual choice for black iced coffee. I ordered a Banana Foster Latte Special when I visited because it was more bang for the buck. It was well executed. Looked good. Tasted good. Based partially on their pricing for cold coffee, I'm rating Perkatory at 3.5 Stars. Different types of coffee drinkers may fare better at Perkatory.

Cookie and latte

This was my first time at this coffee shop location. They have a big parking lot with plenty of space. I love trying new cafes and coffee shops so I was excited to try this out. The latte was good and the cookie wasn't bad either. They do have limited pastry & food options so just something to keep in mind. It's a good spot for getting some work done and sipping your coffee.

Absolutely Amazing coffee here! Very convenient location too right on Queen st! This business is very clean and this location is huge! I usually visit the Middletown location. I was so happy to see this additional location. Service was fast and friendly.

Wow! Perkatory's newest and 2nd location in Southington is so nice. I've been to 3 other locations and this massive space doesn't compare. It's super sleek, modern, and open while keeping their punk vibes. There is a lot and different types of seating for lounging, working and simply enjoying the coffee. I was lured in to try their February drink specials. I got the Channel Orange latte, hot, and it tasted just like the Terry's Orange Chocolate (you know the chocolate ball that you whack on a table that breaks into orange slices?). I was also able to try their baked goods from Baked. By Perkatory. They had a large display case full of sweet and savory scones, cookies, cinnamon buns, muffins and gluten free and vegan options. I love scones so I had to try their White Chocolate Cranberry flavor. I also got a Chocolate Chip with Sea Salt Cookie that was super chocolate, packed with lots of chocolate chunks and the sea salt was a nice touch. Perkatory Coffee Roasters is the first to occupy a space in a newly build plaza. It's in a prime area on Queen Street and easy to get to. This very well may be my favorite location of all of the Perkatory's. I will be back again soon!

Stopped in to feed my iced coffee craving & went with the Dark Side. Cold brew with coconut foam did not disappoint! This location was easy to get to & very clean!

Perkatory is where I love to go on the weekends for a little treat. I enjoy getting their monthly drinks. I like to go to both locations in Southington but this new one is at the perfect spot after I run errand. I like the modern look location and the art works on the walls. The staff is always friendly and helps with suggestion on drinks. My favorite go to is a sparkling lemonade and a shot of lavender flavor.

Every fall Perkatory has my go to coffee. Perfect for on the go or to keep in the fridge as your coffee choice for the day. The pumpkin spice blend is brewed with balanced flavors that isn't overpowering on the pallet.

I'm so glad Perkatory opened up on Queen Street! They have always been a favorite coffee chain of mine and I have frequented the West Hartford and Center St. Southington location. I love that they change out their specialty drinks monthly and I love the creativity in the flavors. Not to mention that the coffee is delicious and they usually have some delicious baked goods or sweet treats by the counter. The service is always friendly and as far as coffee chains go, Perkatory is my favorite!

I really love the vibe of the other Perkatory locations. What I love about this location is the murals! This spot definitely needs time to style the place more to match the vibe of the other locations (if that's the plan). I loved the ample seating, my friend and I were able to sit and read for a bit with our coffees. I feel like you really need to like their specials or you'll just end up with something very regular as the main menu has nothing special for flavors. My friend isn't crazy about coffee but will drink it if it's sweet. She named a drink she likes elsewhere (white chocolate mocha) and we thought the barista could whip something up thats similar, as baristas are usually happy to do. But, she was very dry and told us all she could do were the specials. I drink coffee regularly and the specials didn't even appeal to me at the time. My friend ended up with salted caramel latte but we both wished they just had regular caramel. I got a hot chai latte with espresso, which was good. I would've liked if they had more sweeteners/flavors available. Im assuming this barista is super new and just wasn't comfortable with being creative.

Another killer location from the Perkatory crew!! This space is HUGE with tons of space for working or studying, a fireplace, couches and more. Such a cozy, roomy vibe. And 6 minutes away from my office!

The second Perkatory location in Southington opened today, but this is their 6th location overall. It's located in the new Keystone Plaza. The interior is dark and industrial sleek. It's very spacious with multiple seating options. There is a fire place too. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I was excited to see they had a whole case of the baked good they produced. I ordered a caramel cappuccino and an apple fritter, both were delish. The space is a great place to have a quick bite, meet up with friends, or study. I definitely recommend stopping by! FUY

After going to the perkatory location in west hartford, i wasn't that impressed. on the other hand, this location remedies many of the qualms i have with the wh one. it is extremely spacious inside, with a variety of seating like couches, high tops, and regular tables (in addition to picnic tables outside). there is a good amount of parking right outside in the lot, and available bathrooms. staff was friendly and i ordered a warmed chocolate croissant & iced oat lavender latte. both were delicious! pricy, at $12+ dollars for both, but i appreciate this place as a whole.

I stopped in for a cortado, three shots of espresso with oat milk, no sugar, and it was perfectly balanced and delicious. The service was excellent from start to finish. They greeted me right away, spelled my name correctly, which is rare, and even called it out properly when my drink was ready. The café itself is inside a warm, inviting building with seating in the shop and throughout the hallways. With the walking path nearby and the dog friendly environment, it is the perfect spot to stop during a morning stroll, before a night out, or while exploring the area. Between the quality coffee, attentive service, and dog friendly atmosphere, Perkatory is a spot I will definitely be returning to.

My friend arrived first she got Kevin's Not Here hot chocolate, this is a nod to Kevin from Home Alone. I arrived shortly after, I tried to order my coffee for a while. While they were busy, I felt like I was purposefully being ignored, no matter how many times I pointed to the menu and said "excuse me?". I was sitting right at the front where most of the commotion was. My friend had to raise her hand all the way up, like we had something to say in school. I guess that's the way to get their attention. I eventually got the Cannoli Cold Brew. Both of our drinks were very good. Kevin's Not Here is a white mocha base with eggnog and gingerbread syrup. This was very sweet, I could for sure taste the gingerbread. The Cannoli Cold Brew was another great choice, it tasted like what it sounds, it wasn't overly sweet. They offer a variety of fun flights at Yellow King, from coffee, to hot chocolate to cocktails.
