You can bring your own, which already makes it a win, but they also take have QR codes you can scan and have food delivered right to your table from nearby restaurants. This brewery is located in the Factory Square. It's a large space with plenty of seating and tables used from reclaimed wood. The theme is music; there were quite a few pictures of famous musicians on the walls. There was a large outside patio area with tables. There is live music on certain nights. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from; they create sours, IPAs, stouts, lagers, etc. They also serve hard seltzers, wine, etc. the service was good. Food can be brought in; they've partnered up with The Lab restaurant across the hall from them. I've been here twice. The atmosphere is comfortable and I like the location in the Factory Square. I had some spiced cider that was delicious!! It was called "fire cider". There were lots of people at Witchdoctor this past weekend celebrating St. Patty's Day. The crowd was friendly, and I liked seeing the cute dogs people brought in. A bunch of tables were reserved, so we had to sit at the bar. I'm not sure if this is common, but it's something to note when visiting. They have cozy couches and lots of seating area. After the Apple Harvest Festival my friend and I stopped by the Witchdoctor Brewery. We shared a flight of their fruity and sour beers! I have been here before and I've had the Bunny Patch, this is a very tasty strawberry IPA. The other one I really like is Mango Wanna Bango, how funny is that name? This is a mango and guava sour. This is just what I like, a fruity sour! Yum! There are a lot of options here if you're into the fruity sours like I am. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers and will offer samples. We had a lot of fun here, there was a musician playing the guitar and singing, he sounded magnificent! We also played scrabble, while enjoying the beers, and live music. Went for drinks after work with the crew to try some brews. It was our first time visiting Witchdoctor Brewing for most of us, but I have visited other businesses like Perkatory Coffee Roasters that are also in the same space. They are in a large multi-level, brick, industry building that was turned into multiple offices, restaurants, and shops. The building's aesthetic is used in the Witchdotor Brewing's favor showcasing the exposed beams and industrial decor. They had a variety of different beers on tap. A lot of the names were fun like I Am Frut that was a raspberry sour. The staff at the bar were very knowledgeable and helped us choosing a brew. The space is very large like a grand hall with a lot of seating: bar seating, tables and couches to fit any party. Since there is so much space, it did not feel very crowded. It wasn't loud and everyone was pretty chill. There were board games to play and you could order food from The Lab. They are dog friendly too. read more

I went to Witchdoctor Brewing as part of a fundraiser for the Meriden Humane Society, and got to sample several beers with Fascia's Chocolates. The brewery is located in what looks to be an old factory. There is parking by the wheelchair entrance, parking going around in the building, and ending in a large lot in back. There is also street parking by the wheelchair entrance. There is a sign on the wall, but don't feel bad if you overlook it at first. The entrance blends in. It does look as though you can park in the large lot and enter through the building. The ambiance is a bit dark, the lights look industrial with metal chairs and wood tables. There's a fair amount of seating, and a loooong bar. The bar is longer than their considerable chalkboard menu, which is saying something. There are two single restrooms that are very clean, as is the rest of the facility. The beer itself was good, although my sampling included chocolate (which I recommend people try!). My favorite was the Bunny Patch (Strawberry Milkshake IPA) which did have a strawberry taste. It pairs really well with a Cinnamon Cream. The beers were served full to the brim, and the brewery employees were very friendly. read more

Witchdoctor Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Southington, Connecticut in April 2017. It was founded by husband and wife Josh and Allison Norris and brewmaster Daryl Adamaitis. Josh started home brewing as a hobby and shared his beer recipes with family and friends. Eventually his brother said, "Your beer is better than the local beer--you should really do something with it." Josh and his wife Allison then teamed up with local brewer Daryl Adamaitis in order to bring their vision to fruition. The team set up shop at Southington's Factory Square, which was originally home to the Southington Tool Manufacturing Company (circa 1883). The complex was converted into a mixed-use property in 1985. The brewery's slogan became "The Cure for What Ales You", which is a testament to the hard work they put into preparing, or curing, their beer so that they can bring it fresh to everyone's taste buds. The current brewmaster is Rob Todd and the current bar manager is Mike See. I first visited Witchdoctor just a couple months after they opened. I really like the taproom's industrial look as well as all of the music decor. The brewery is one of seven Connecticut craft breweries to be located within close proximity to the popular Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. I always visit Witchdoctor when I'm cycling by on the trail. During my first visit, I ordered a taster flight which consisted of "Pauper's Porridge" (Oatmeal Amber Ale), "Inner Eye" (Rye Pale Ale), "Oxymel" (Double IPA), and "Capulus" (Imperial Mocha Stout). The latter was my favorite and I purchased a growler to take home. My most recent visit was this past weekend while I was again cycling by on the trail. This time I ordered a flight which consisted of "Coconut Rum-Aged Pauper's Porridge", "Cocoa for Peanuts" (Chocolate Peanut Butter Amber Ale), "Voodoo Hop Drop" (Double IPA), and "Pacific Warrior" (Double New England IPA). ''I put a spell on you, because you're mine'' (Creedence Clearwater Revival) Yes, the Good Witch Doctor sure did put a spell on us, because we enjoyed every minute of, and were so impressed with, our visit to his brewery. The space is immense, with a big bar, many different seating areas, a stage, a pool table, and dart boards. The sound system was GREAT, The Good Doctor was playing a Pandora station of Creedence songs and the guitars jumped out so vividly it seemed like the band was playing right behind me. Mike, our host, was a great guy and we chatted about music and beer and Witchdoctor Brewing's first year anniversary. I commented to Mike that the beer line-up wasn't very heavy on IPAs (YAY!), and he said they like to offer the full spectrum of beers with maybe one or two IPAs that aren't crazy off the charts with hoppiness. The beers on tap today were a Belgian Saison/Farmhouse Ale (7.7% ABV and 33 IBU), Pauper's Porridge Oatmeal Ale (6.4% ABV and 35 IBU), Smokey Opie Smoked Red Ale (6.5% ABV and 35 IBU), Pappa Chocolate's Malt Shake Stout (6% ABV), and Tropica New England Style DIPA (8.5% ABV and 57 IBU). Other beers in the Witchdoctor's repertoire, but not on tap today, are a Chocolate/Coffee/Vanilla Porter, a Dunkelweizen (German Wheat Beer), a Grapefruit Witbier, an Octoberfest, an American Rye Pale Ale, a Mocha Stout, and an Imperial Double IPA. I had a glass of the Pappa Chocolate's Malt Shake Stout and it was perfect - a luxurious glass of mild delicious dark beer. I loved it. Had a pleasant time checking out this Brewery for the first time and was mind blown at the size of it all. Had a little trouble finding the place but after parking and see the banner and outdoor seating I knew I was in the right place. First one in on a quiet Thursday around 4pm. Had a good conversation with the bartender. Had a flight left up to him with a lager, a strawberry ipa, the Bunny Patch and two other IPAs. I was mind blown by the Bunny Patch and ended up grabbing a growler of it. The harder part was trying to get a growler to share with my dad who is usually an IPA drinker. Decided on another flight trying a pale ale brewed recently for a firemen's fundraiser which I can respect and admire and a few other drinks. Walked out with two filled growlers, a sticker and a firemen fundraiser sample glass. The atmosphere seems really relaxed with couches, dart board, stage and pool table. I love the brick layout and the table design with wires going to the ceiling giving their high top tables a unique design. The space just invites people to come and drink, dance and enjoy each other's company. I'll be sure to come back with a group and with the concoctions that they have brewing up it'll be a worthwhile return trip. read more

Came here after COVID for some outside brews. Had a Peanut Butter Porter, their Homemade Strawberry seltzer, and a Lobster Roll provided by Paul Gregory's. The drinks were great, the lobster roll, not so much. I've eaten at Paul Gregory's before so I don't hold it against them. I know they had all the food in catering dishes inside Witchdoctor, so maybe it's my fault for ordering the lobster. It was rubbery and tasted like the ocean. I'm not mad about it, was just happy to be out! The fries were great, as was the cole slaw and the 2nd time I came back, I got the meat and cheese cup for $5, totally worth it! Probably my favorite brewery in the Cheshire/southington area. It right up there with counterweight brewing company. I almost didn't write a review because I've noticed that it's getting busier every time I go. It's right off the bike path so in warmer climate I love riding down, hitting Kinsmen (not the best brewery) then end up at witch doctor. I love that they offer other drinks besides their beer. They change it up quite a bit and I always manage to find a spot at the bar when I come in. The place is pretty big and they have outdoor seating in the summer. Personally I think their beer tastes way better than kinsmen an counterweight. Bartenders are personable and seem genuinely happy you're there. I also love that there are not a ton of kids running around. They allow dogs too! They actually remember you when you come back. This was my secret gem for a while but it is getting some hype so I figured I'd support them and write a review to give a shout out to my favorite brewery. read more

While in the area, I decided to finally stop in and check this place out. I was surprised by how large the space was- tons of tables, nice, big bar, cornhole, etc. There was also a stage where I'd have to assume that live music takes place on some nights. The day that I visited, the music was a little too loud and there were quite a few people but it definitely didn't feel crowded. I understand that everyone's tastes are different, but from experience and from the feedback of those in my party, I do not think the beer is good. I have tried a disappointing sample at a beer fest a couple of years back and was hopeful that things had changed. Unfortunately that was not the case. We had 2 flights between the 3 of us and honestly the only semi-decent one in the batch was a vanilla porter that tasted of imitation vanilla extract. I am absolutely appalled by people who leave beer behind in their glasses, but I temporarily joined that club for the day. We simply could not burden ourselves with one more sip! It seems that there are people who like their beers and good for everyone in that case, but with Kinsmen up the road and Relic not too far away, I can't imagine me every setting foot in this place again. Plus there was another band bringing in their equipment for the next session. It's a good vibe in Witchdoctor Brewing. Friends hanging out, families with children enjoying themselves, and couples having a some beers and going out to the food truck for some good eats. Pictures of famous musicians are scattered throughout the brewery. People playing pool and darts inside and cornhole games outside in the fenced in area of the lot. It's a cool happy place to be. And the number one reason to be there....the beers. They're really good. I had the Capulus. An excellent mocha stout. My wife had the Mustache Queen. A Bohemian Pilsner. She enjoyed it. Then I had the Nutter your Business. A chocolate peanut butter ale. Yes an ale. Similar to a chocolate peanut butter stout but better. It was much lighter than a stout and tasted great. I like the Witch Doctor as a place to hang out. It's a very wide open space with pool tables and darts. One of the positives is that it never really feels crowded. The openness of the place is very inviting. The beer is really hit or miss for me. I feel as though that their strengths are in their session IPAs and their stout offerings. I'm not a New England IPA fan and they are chasing that trend like many microbreweries in the area. I've had their rotating attempts at lagers. I enjoyed the Kolsch they made but other offerings they have like Vienna Montana have left me a little flat. One of the caveats I have about the place is coming back and finding it hard to find the beer you had the last time. At some point the innovation and reaching makes it hard to get a feel for what the place is all about. I guess I would enjoy to see a little more consistency from this place. read more

What another great addition to the Southington social scene. Admittedly we had initial intentions of visiting another brewery on a Saturday afternoon, but once we found that place to be packed to the gills, we opted to give Witchdoctor a try. I am selfishly glad that this place has remained somewhat undiscovered. It's located in a refurbished factory, which lends itself to a really cool Indie/alternative vibe with lots of open space to hang (indoor cornhole included!). At the same time there are plenty of alcoves to gather with a group of friends or relax with a significant other or even enjoy some personal solace! Many members on our party had varying interests in beer and the staff were exceptionally patient and knowledgeable helping to select our brews. Witchdoctor has a little something for everyone, even those who may not select beer as their first beverage of choice. We particularly liked JuJuJuice, but truthfully we fully appreciated their diverse line up. From ambers to lagers to saisons to IPAs to stouts they offer it all. They also offer alcohol free beverages as well as mixed drinks. There is even a large stack of games to choose from. I would love to come back and enjoy a trivia night or some of their live music offerings. Witchdoctor has a prime location, with diverse beverage offerings (including a diversified beer selection), and a perfect atmosphere for spending some time away from home in a very cozy setting.
