Hands down, one of the best breweries around. Great selection on tap including sours, ciders and porters. The staff always has a smile for you. They have quite a variety of seating options and you can bring your doggo!!

Tried a flight of different sour ale. The beer and service was good. Only thing I didn't like here was that it smelled wet dog.

This brewery is located in the Factory Square. It's a large space with plenty of seating and tables used from reclaimed wood. The theme is music; there were quite a few pictures of famous musicians on the walls. There was a large outside patio area with tables. There is live music on certain nights. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from; they create sours, IPAs, stouts, lagers, etc. They also serve hard seltzers, wine, etc. the service was good. Food can be brought in; they've partnered up with The Lab restaurant across the hall from them. I tried out their sour beer called, I am Frut; it's a 5% ABV raspberry sour ale and it's the best I've had! 5 stars alone for that. I look forward to going back to try out their other selection.

Great selection of beers and ciders. Mixed between sours and cider. Pool table, dart board and mix of board games to choose from Can't get over the smell of WET DOG when you walk in. Not sure if it was cause it rained, but it was very overwhelming. I understand it's dog friendly, but the smell is displeasing..

Get the fire cider!! Sooo good

I've been here twice. The atmosphere is comfortable and I like the location in the Factory Square. I had some spiced cider that was delicious!! It was called "fire cider". There were lots of people at Witchdoctor this past weekend celebrating St. Patty's Day. The crowd was friendly, and I liked seeing the cute dogs people brought in. A bunch of tables were reserved, so we had to sit at the bar. I'm not sure if this is common, but it's something to note when visiting. They have cozy couches and lots of seating area. In addition to beer and cider, they have wine, margaritas, shots, etc. The bartenders are really friendly too! I will gladly return!

After the Apple Harvest Festival my friend and I stopped by the Witchdoctor Brewery. We shared a flight of their fruity and sour beers! I have been here before and I've had the Bunny Patch, this is a very tasty strawberry IPA. The other one I really like is Mango Wanna Bango, how funny is that name? This is a mango and guava sour. This is just what I like, a fruity sour! Yum! There are a lot of options here if you're into the fruity sours like I am. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers and will offer samples. We had a lot of fun here, there was a musician playing the guitar and singing, he sounded magnificent! We also played scrabble, while enjoying the beers, and live music. After checking in on Yelp they gave me a Witchdoctor sticker, haven't decided where it's home will be yet. Is it appropriate if I place it on my work laptop?

Witchdoctor Brewing is a really hip, cool local brewery. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the great selection of delicious craft beers to try. Great staff, friendly and professional. I recommend stopping by and bring a few beer lovers with you.

Went for drinks after work with the crew to try some brews. It was our first time visiting Witchdoctor Brewing for most of us, but I have visited other businesses like Perkatory Coffee Roasters that are also in the same space. They are in a large multi-level, brick, industry building that was turned into multiple offices, restaurants, and shops. The building's aesthetic is used in the Witchdotor Brewing's favor showcasing the exposed beams and industrial decor. They had a variety of different beers on tap. A lot of the names were fun like I Am Frut that was a raspberry sour. The staff at the bar were very knowledgeable and helped us choosing a brew. The space is very large like a grand hall with a lot of seating: bar seating, tables and couches to fit any party. Since there is so much space, it did not feel very crowded. It wasn't loud and everyone was pretty chill. There were board games to play and you could order food from The Lab. They are dog friendly too.

I went to Witchdoctor Brewing as part of a fundraiser for the Meriden Humane Society, and got to sample several beers with Fascia's Chocolates. The brewery is located in what looks to be an old factory. There is parking by the wheelchair entrance, parking going around in the building, and ending in a large lot in back. There is also street parking by the wheelchair entrance. There is a sign on the wall, but don't feel bad if you overlook it at first. The entrance blends in. It does look as though you can park in the large lot and enter through the building. The ambiance is a bit dark, the lights look industrial with metal chairs and wood tables. There's a fair amount of seating, and a loooong bar. The bar is longer than their considerable chalkboard menu, which is saying something. There are two single restrooms that are very clean, as is the rest of the facility. The beer itself was good, although my sampling included chocolate (which I recommend people try!). My favorite was the Bunny Patch (Strawberry Milkshake IPA) which did have a strawberry taste. It pairs really well with a Cinnamon Cream. The beers were served full to the brim, and the brewery employees were very friendly.

I enjoyed our visit. It's in a repurposed mill or industrial building, which I love. It is also dog friendly, which is also great. It was hard to find the entrance. I would encourage them to put some effort into cool signs. The staff was friendly and our beer was good.

Witchdoctor Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Southington, Connecticut in April 2017. It was founded by husband and wife Josh and Allison Norris and brewmaster Daryl Adamaitis. Josh started home brewing as a hobby and shared his beer recipes with family and friends. Eventually his brother said, "Your beer is better than the local beer--you should really do something with it." Josh and his wife Allison then teamed up with local brewer Daryl Adamaitis in order to bring their vision to fruition. The team set up shop at Southington's Factory Square, which was originally home to the Southington Tool Manufacturing Company (circa 1883). The complex was converted into a mixed-use property in 1985. The brewery's slogan became "The Cure for What Ales You", which is a testament to the hard work they put into preparing, or curing, their beer so that they can bring it fresh to everyone's taste buds. The current brewmaster is Rob Todd and the current bar manager is Mike See. I first visited Witchdoctor just a couple months after they opened. I really like the taproom's industrial look as well as all of the music decor. The brewery is one of seven Connecticut craft breweries to be located within close proximity to the popular Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. I always visit Witchdoctor when I'm cycling by on the trail. During my first visit, I ordered a taster flight which consisted of "Pauper's Porridge" (Oatmeal Amber Ale), "Inner Eye" (Rye Pale Ale), "Oxymel" (Double IPA), and "Capulus" (Imperial Mocha Stout). The latter was my favorite and I purchased a growler to take home. My most recent visit was this past weekend while I was again cycling by on the trail. This time I ordered a flight which consisted of "Coconut Rum-Aged Pauper's Porridge", "Cocoa for Peanuts" (Chocolate Peanut Butter Amber Ale), "Voodoo Hop Drop" (Double IPA), and "Pacific Warrior" (Double New England IPA). I thoroughly enjoyed all four beers; I had trouble picking a favorite! The quality of Witchdoctor's beers has definitely improved since they first opened (as it should).

Seems very nice cozy comfortable brewery. One of the IPAs were very tasty and we would definitely drive back there to drink that. They even allowed us to get some cans after they were closed. Didn't feel we were in a rush

There is a small sign over the door, otherwise you'd think you might be walking into a printing shop or electronics repair place. When you walk in, you'll see the glistening tanks and brewing equipment on your left, a lot of tables and chairs on your right, and the bar and more seating straight ahead. Yesterday, their beverage choices included four IPAs, a Roasted Amber Ale, a Lite Ale, a Berry Sour, two ciders, a few wines, and a distilled spirit cocktail. I went with a full pour ($5) of their 125 Lite Ale. It came in at 5.4% ABV and was described as "A crisp & creamy unfiltered light American ale". I'm not an IPA guy, so I wanted a Pilsner or Lager, so this was perfect for me. Very drinkable, very refreshing, and priced right. My wife ordered a half pour ($5) of the Sparkling Tea DROPS Cocktail by Continuum Distilling. It packed 7.6% ABV firepower and was described as "a unique SPIRIT distilled from Connecticut's best craft IPAs, paired with a Lemon or Sweet Tea base then carbonated to sparkling perfection". I mooched a sip, and it was outstanding. Our server was pleasant and helpful, steering me to the Lite Ale after I eliminated the IPAs and describing the Lemon Drops so well. They have a Ted's Steamed Cheeseburger food truck on site every Friday-Sunday. They set up in a big open area behind the brewery, and there are maybe ten or so tables and chairs out there. Drinking our cold beverages and enjoying a nice cheeseburger was quite the sweet way to enjoy a sunny Saturday afternoon.

He first began experimenting with homebrewing when his brother-in-law gifted him a Mr. Beer kit. The first batch of Bergen's homebrew was awful, but the kit came with an interesting book that he read over and over again. He soon became fascinated with the science behind brewing and fermentation. Later on, a friend gifted him a bottle of homemade mead. Bergen's wife Emilie liked it much more than any beer she ever tried, so he decided to try his hand at crafting mead. Mead is a fermented beverage made from a mixture of honey, water and yeast. It is the oldest fermented beverage known to man (predating beer, wine and cider). Like his first batch of beer, Bergen's first batch of mead was also awful. After several months, Bergen finally began making mead that was drinkable. The Bergens later had an idea to open their own brewery. After seeing how many breweries that Connecticut already had, they instead decided to open a meadery. The Bergens found a space in Middletown's old trolley barn building to house their meadery and taproom. Although not the state's only meadery, Bergen House is the only one to have its own taproom for on-site consumption. I recently visited Bergen House for the first time after going for a long bike ride on the nearby Air Line State Park Trail. I was greeted by Emilie Bergen who was very friendly and talked to me about the different meads. There were eight different meads on tap during my visit. Each one has different spices and fruits added for flavoring. I ordered a sampler flight which featured "Crime Scene" (Rye Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sweet & Sour Cherry Mead), "Local Buzz" (Dry Mead made with local honey from Hilltop Apiaries), "Wally" (Off-Dry Mead made with wildflower honey, green tea and Citra hops), and "Grapefruit Meads Business" (Wildflower Mead flavored with rosemary, grapefruit & ginger). The latter two were my favorites! Emilie also gave me a small sample of "Bochet": a traditional French Mead made with wildflower honey caramelized before fermentation. I ended up taking home a growlito of "Wally", which tasted a lot like a honey-infused New England IPA. I had a great experience at Bergen House and I look forward to returning!

Sigman chose the name "Relic" to reference his world travels. Aiming to craft artisanal ales inspired by flavors from around the world, he thought of himself as more of a chef than a brewer. Sigman doesn't brew beer based on which styles are trendy, but rather beers that he personally enjoys with tastes that he views as complimentary or exciting. I have visited Relic Brewing multiple times since I first became serious about craft beer in 2013. At that time, Relic was one of maybe 10 breweries in the state (today there are over 100). Of those original 10, only half remain in business. The taproom was very small during my initial visit: about 10 square feet and they only served small free samples. I recently stopped there with my older son because it occurred to me that I hadn't been there in at least 10 years. A lot had changed! In 2016, a full bar was added and Relic began to serve full pint pours as well as craft cocktails. A large back room addition opened in 2019, which featured a fully furnished lounge and a pinball arcade slowly evolved. When I first arrived, I ordered a taster flight which featured "Oktoberfest", "Nebraska IPA", "The Whim" (New England IPA), and "Double Whim" (Double New England IPA). It was pretty chill vibe, and I got the sense that a lot of locals frequent them, which is cool. We hung out for nearly two hours and by the time we left the only other folks there were at the bar in the front room. The beer is still good! I did want to try some of their cocktails though. They have some pretty creative cocktails made with interesting homemade syrups, shrubs, and the like. I tried the Honey Don't which was tart but well balanced. I wished it was a little spicier, but I am a spice fiend. Then I felt for something a little sweeter so I went with the Poolside gossip. All the different ingredients really combined into a unique and delicious flavor! I really enjoyed what they have going on. The space was comfortable and relaxed and there's something on their drinks menu for literally everyone, plus entertainment. They have small snacks available, but you're also welcome to bring your own food. So it's basically like a very relaxed bar. We'll definitely be stopping in more frequently!
