Huge brewery! Awesome service and a great selection of beers to go. We got the New England Blueberry cider and it was so good

We were doing flaming photos and decided to pop in for a round or two. There was 8 of us in the group, the place is set up really nice. There is a large bar, several tables and what looks like a private party back room I would have taken more pics, there was a lot of people there and didn't feel like editing or asking people if they minded their photos being taken. The staff there is super friendly and worked with some of our party as they weren't sure what they wanted for beers. I had a nice interaction with the manager, he was touching tables and that was amazing to see. I'm in the industry and good to see staff making sure things are good and interacting. We ended up having 3 rounds then hit the food truck up outside, I don't know if the food truck changes but this was a ramen one and it was very tasty! We will be back, Sunday fundays will be happening in our future

Vegan Big Mac pizza! So good!!

I absolutely love this place and would give it a higher rating if I could. My main reasons: 1) The beer is awesome (no bad choices found; Space Coyote is my fav). 2) They make excellent pizza and don't charge extra for vegan and gluten free options (though it's not on the menu, I recommend the vegan Big Mac pizza--phenomenal). 3) Everyone who works here is kind, helpful, talkative, and genuinely seems to like working here. 4) The facility is wonderful--outdoor and indoor areas, 5) While I haven't personally had the chance to attend, they do events here like trivia and yoga. Super cool offerings. I love that this place exists!

Beautiful and comfortable brewery. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Dog and kid friendly! Excellent beers. I am partial to IPA's and loved the Talisman. They have gray food trucks that rotate through but you can bring your own food which is nice if you aren't feeling the food truck. The service is awesome. Super friendly staff. Special shout out to the meticulously clean bathrooms. I know it's a small detail but it is a big deal in my book. :)

Now located in a brand new building in Cheshire! If you love beer visiting here is a must. They have a great variety of beers and a couple guest wines and cider. I got the Strataclysm which is a double IPA. I love a good IPA & this didn't disappoint! I then tried the Crimson Briar which is a sour. This beer is loaded with raspberry flavor. As much as love IPAs this was my favorite from this trip. The staff was attentive and well prepared for the steady stream of visitors. There are different types of seating options as well as areas to stand with counters to place your beer on. If you're hungry they have food trucks outside to order from. Only complaint is how loud it is in there. It was hard to hear my friend over all the noise. It's a bit overwhelming. Hopefully the weather will be nicer next visit & we can sit outside.

Counter Weight has a brand new facility in Cheshire, CT and it's absolutely stunning! It's brand spanking new (opened mid-March 2022), tons of parking, a huge outdoor patio (still being worked on), large taplist and tons of cans to go. If you've been to their original location, this one is 10x that! They're not dog friendly any more indoors but dog friendly on the patio - and they're working to make it bigger and better for the warm weather! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and they were pretty busy. We had to wait outside for a few minutes as they were at capacity. I'm unsure if that's a COVID protocol or building in general but it was only a few minutes. They also checked IDs at the door and gave wristbands. It definitely remind me of Treehouse Brewing in Charlton, MA. It's nice to have a huge taphouse like this nearby!

Beautiful space and exceptional beer. What more do you want? I have visited several times and each time encountered a friendly vibe and helpful bartenders. I will say, if you are hard of hearing, this is not the place for you. My favorite part of coming to the new facility is how clean it is. It really makes for a pleasant outing. My favorite pours from the tab are the Workhorse Pilsner and the Crimson Briar Raspberry Sour.

First time coming to counterweight and the place was definitely worth the drive. Ended up trying 3 different beers, of which all were delicious. The upstairs room is a nice spot, overlooking the brew area. Will be coming back to try it on a warmer day this summer, and try some of the food trucks that were outside.

"Is this the best brewery in the state?" is a phrase that crosses my mind everytime I visit CW. They make the best lager in the state, that is without question. They also make some of the best IPAs in the state. And their mixed fermentation offerings are again... among the best CT offers. One thing I have always appreciated about CW is how evident their respect is for beers heritage. Nothing is brewed casually. They do the research and execute the quality control to ensure what they offer you is of the highest quality. Now that they've moved to their new location in Cheshire, everything I loved about them has only gotten better. Great location, amazing tap lists, solid food truck offerings and a vibe that is exciting without being overwhelming or claustrophobic. Even when super busy, there is room to breathe and relax. Is this the best brewery in the state? It just might be.

We enjoyed a very nice visit to Cheshire Craft Brewing yesterday…read more It's located inside a strip mall style industrial park, so it's not obvious where the brewery is (no big signs or dedicated parking lot). There is a small sign over the door, otherwise you'd think you might be walking into a printing shop or electronics repair place. When you walk in, you'll see the glistening tanks and brewing equipment on your left, a lot of tables and chairs on your right, and the bar and more seating straight ahead. Yesterday, their beverage choices included four IPAs, a Roasted Amber Ale, a Lite Ale, a Berry Sour, two ciders, a few wines, and a distilled spirit cocktail. I went with a full pour ($5) of their 125 Lite Ale. It came in at 5.4% ABV and was described as "A crisp & creamy unfiltered light American ale". I'm not an IPA guy, so I wanted a Pilsner or Lager, so this was perfect for me. Very drinkable, very refreshing, and priced right. My wife ordered a half pour ($5) of the Sparkling Tea DROPS Cocktail by Continuum Distilling. It packed 7.6% ABV firepower and was described as "a unique SPIRIT distilled from Connecticut's best craft IPAs, paired with a Lemon or Sweet Tea base then carbonated to sparkling perfection". I mooched a sip, and it was outstanding. Our server was pleasant and helpful, steering me to the Lite Ale after I eliminated the IPAs and describing the Lemon Drops so well. They have a Ted's Steamed Cheeseburger food truck on site every Friday-Sunday. They set up in a big open area behind the brewery, and there are maybe ten or so tables and chairs out there. Drinking our cold beverages and enjoying a nice cheeseburger was quite the sweet way to enjoy a sunny Saturday afternoon.

And she let me try one of them before I decided on a full pour of the "Hydra Chill" which is a blend of strawberry, raspberry, vanilla ice cream and hot fudge. It took a little adjusting to, I think it was the chocolate taste, but ultimately I have to say it was delicious. Just don't think of it as your traditional beer. This is categorized as a pastry stout and I really like those but have to be in the right mood for one. Preferably during the colder months out of the year. Apparently there are a few variations with the donut stout but as the name implies I got the Samoa version. What makes up in the flavor and texture profile is a sweet, smooth, chocolate, creamy and rich beer that Steve and I shared. A whole pint of this might have been too much for me but Steve and I shared it which made it proportioned quite well. A wonderful start with this brewery and would love to try the other donut versions of this stout! I saw a French Toast one that also caught my eye!

Front Porch Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Wallingford, Connecticut in November…read more2017. It was founded by business partners James Flynn, Drew Peccerillo, Tiffany Ulrich and Ryan Voytek. Flynn began home brewing about five years earlier in a friend's backyard and eventually moved to brewing on his front porch (hence the name of the brewery). After he started getting better at home brewing, he decided to turn his hobby into a business. The small brewery brews a variety of different styles but mainly brews different kinds of IPAs and Sours. The small brewery and taproom has a one-barrel system and can only brew a small amount of beer at a time. They occasionally enlist the help of brewery collectives such as The Beeracks in East Haven or Twelve Percent Beer Project in North Haven in order to produce and distribute beer on a much larger scale. I've been visiting Front Porch Brewing since not long after they first opened. On my first visit, I ordered a flight which consisted of a Belgian Dubbel, a Session IPA, a Sour IPA, and a Pale Ale. The latter (named "Devil Children") was my favorite and the ABV appropriately clocked in at 6.66%. My most recent visit was this weekend to pick up some new cans that they released. Both new beers were brewed on a larger scale at Twelve Percent Beer Project and were available at both Twelve Percent and Front Porch's taproom. The first offering was a Double IPA called "Leaving So Soon?" It's aggressively brewed with Citra, Strata, Galaxy, and El Dorado hops. It had some lovely tropical notes from all of the different hops. It clocks in at 8% ABV and each can features alternating artwork that sort of resembles tarot cards. The second offering is an Imperial Pastry Stout called "Neil's French Toast Donut Stout". It was brewed in collaboration with Neil's Donuts (with locations in Wallingford and Middletown) and made with a generous amount of their French Toast donuts. It clocks in at 10% ABV and has a delicious aroma of donuts. I later stopped at Neil's to get some donuts to dunk into the beer! Delicious!! Well done everyone!

It's tucked inside an old industrial park. If you're not looking closely, you'll drive right past it. Outside, there's a casual setup with a tent, whiskey barrel tables, and some umbrellas, which sounds nice in theory, but the grass really needed a cut. It kind of took away from the whole outdoor vibe. I was planning to sit out there, so that was a bit of a letdown. Inside was a pleasant surprise. It's much bigger than it looks from the outside. The bar is right at the entrance, which made it feel like a high-traffic zone, so not ideal for lingering. There was a private party in the main room, so I headed back outside to enjoy the sun. Now to the cider: I asked for 2 samples and ended up with the cider that I didn't actually choose, but hey, I'm not one to make a fuss so I went with it. The cider I wanted was actually pretty tasty, so I might return just to give the menu another try. You know how some ciders are sweet and yummy? The one I got was the kind that tastes sour but has a higher ABV. Still good, but my goal was sweet and yummy. Service was fine but not overly warm. Nothing bad, just not memorable. Would I go back? Sure, on a really nice day. If they had live music, I'd absolutely give it another shot. There's potential here, especially for cider fans, but it's not quite my go-to yet. They did have a very cool bathroom sink. Points for that!
