First time visiting this brewery and I would definitely come back again. They don't sell food and we were hungry so we grabbed a pizza for a restaurant close by and brought it in. This is allowed and encouraged here. This brewery also allows dogs! So I had to bring my pup with me. We grabbed a table next to a full sized fire truck. The ambiance here is so cool , This whole brewery was built in an old firehouse. To drink I got a tasty hard cider called Long way back! It was refreshing and not too sweet. Staff here was friendly and prices were fair. Also you can reserve the whole up stairs of this brewery (private room) for events or party's!

Bad Dog Brewery opened in 2017 in Torrington, CT. It's located in a historic 1901 firehouse. Everything was restored and reclaimed. There are two floors, each has a bar and there is an event space. The place is beautiful and super spacious; it's also dog and kid friendly. There were plenty of tables and seating throughout. The parking lot is small but there are also on-street metered parking. My family and I enjoyed hanging out there. There was a old retro Pac-Man game console; a vintage firetruck on display on the first floor; and various of other vintage decor, some paying homage to the firefighters. I had one of their seasonal stout beers and it was great, sorry forgot the name. They also serve hard seltzers, ciders, and wine. There is no food onsite but food trucks do stop there. There was a birthday party in one of the rooms when we went; it appears that it's a great spot for that and they were pretty accommodating. Overall, it's definitely up there with one of my favorite breweries and I really love the historic architecture too.

Bad Dog Brewery is located in a renovated firehouse and the owners have done an amazing job transforming the building into a cozy place to have a beer and dinner. I've been here multiple times since it first opened in January 2021. They've done a great job saluting firefighters and fire departments with an antique truck on the main floor and a collection of patches from various local and regional departments. The renovation is great with the original waistcoating, trim and transom windows saved and restored. The beer is always great with a variety of different styles. I particularly enjoyed the Gingerbread Imperial Stout. We were fortunate to visit in March 2025 through a collaboration with the Naugatuck Railroad/Railroad Museum of New England and the Leprechaun Express train ride. We were served two different Irish ales on the train and then stopped for a corned beef dinner (and more beers) at the brewery in Torrington. Great fun and a wonderful way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

This place is amazing! Went on a Wednesday for Kellioke (karaoke). The owner, Matt, was so nice. And the servers were wonderful. A good time was had by all!

My fiancé was turning 30 and I needed a great spot to throw his surprise party and after tons of research throughout CT, I'm so happy I found Bad Dog Brewery. The staff was incredibly kind the day of the party and we had a whole room upstairs to ourselves that I was able to decorate freely. They allowed me to bring in my own food and the only thing they required was any beverages be purchased on-site. (As well as a $400 tab, which was easy to reach with a party of 45+) One thing I liked most was that they were kid-friendly and had more than just beer and cider for drink options. The brewery is spacious, relaxing and just overall a very chill atmosphere. We definitely have recommended this venue to many of our friends. Even a friend who attended our surprise party has invited us to her party she is hosting at this venue because she loved it so much. I have a feeling this will not be the last party we have here!

Bad Dog Brewing Company is a craft brewery and fire museum that opened in Torrington, Connecticut in January 2021. It was founded by the Tkac family which includes Matt Tkac, his wife Michele, their brewmaster son Chris, and daughter Emily. Matt and Chris began brewing together with a homebrew kit. After getting a good response from a sample audience, the father and son duo began to look into opening their own brewery. The Tkac family made a deal with the city of Torrington to take over the circa 1901 historic Torrington firehouse which had sat vacant for over two decades. The building was renovated and also reinforced to support the new brewing equipment. The brewery is also home to the Northwest Connecticut Firefighting Museum. Artifacts on display include a beautiful 1939 firetruck as well as a number of old firefighting artifacts (dating from the 1800s to the 1960s) that were found during the renovation of the building. Bad Dog is also dedicated to helping out various community activities, humane societies, and animal rescue organizations and shelters (much like the fire department). I visited Bad Dog Brewing for the first time this past weekend while I was visiting the area with my two young sons. We love all things associated with the fire department and love visiting fire museums. The building is conveniently located next to the current Torrington fire department which opened in 1980. The three of us loved the interior with all of the vintage firefighting equipment. We grabbed a table and I ordered a taster flight which consisted of "Weis Azz" (Hefeweizen) and "Sunny DEEZ" (New England IPA). It also included two guests beers from Alvarium Beer in New Britain: "Phresh" (New England IPA" and "Honey Shot" (Double New England IPA). The Tkac family were so friendly and accommodating to my sons. They offered them toys, a coloring book with crayons, a Pac-Man arcade cabinet, and a chance to pose for pictures in the driver's seat of the firetruck. I'm not sure if I had more fun or my sons. Before leaving, I ordered a full pour of "Suckered Punched" (Fruited Sour). Good beer, good people, good times! We all had a fun visit to Bad Dog Brewing and look forward to returning!

Great beer and atmosphere. The peach wheat ale and pumpkin beer were excellent. Will definitely come back

We visited Bad Dog for the first time because we were chasing a food truck, and we're so happy it led us here! I love how the brewery has really made an effort to preserve the history of the building, which was previously a firehouse, and has antiques throughout. My fiancé enjoyed his beer, and the food truck they were hosting that evening was great. We chatted briefly with one of the owners, who was very nice and invited us to check out their private event space upstairs which was beautiful! They had nice live music, and I hear they have great trivia nights that we'll have to come back and check out. There were a plethora of games to play while you hang out too. Super wholesome place that gave us Vermont vibes!

This is a great brewery. The beer is delicious and they have quite the selection. Not just all IPAs like many breweries are. They don't come out with many new beers I feel like but I don't think it's a big crowd that runs this place. It doesn't matter because I enjoy what they have on tap. Haven't had a bad one yetX The service is great. The staff is quick with the beers and super friendly and easy to talk to. I actually got a tour and a fun history lesson on the old firehouse from the owner. They do have food trucks that park out front as well.

Move over nice dog, a big, bad dog is movin' in" (George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers) Yesterday's visit to the Bad Dog Brewery was one of the most enjoyable brewery experiences we've had in years. And believe me, I've been to quite a few breweries. What made our visit so memorable? How about the visuals of the huge tasting room, the wonderfully engaging staff and ownership, the variety of fun and creative customer activities, a second floor that is gorgeous and would be a great place for a private event and of course.... the beers. They are located in a beautifully refurbished 1901 Fire Station. So, among the new hardwood flooring planks, exposed brick, and laminated beams, you'll see a full-sized vintage fire truck and pieces of antique firefighting equipment. The staff was terrific and helped me pick my flight. But the real clincher was that two of the owners, Michelle and her husband, visited us at our table to check on how our visit was going? Michelle was a joy- she was bubbling with pride as she talked about the history of the building, the opening of the business, coping with COVID, some of their creative marketing schemes, and the varying tastes of the beer loving public (younger folks LOVE IPAs). They hold trivia events weekly and have just started a partnership In conjunction with the Railroad Museum of New England. The Thomaston Sunset Special runs from Thomaston to Torrington, where the station is just a few hundred steps from the brewery. The idea is to provide a boost for Torrington's shops and restaurants, and Bad Dog is one of the primary attractions. Michelle made us laugh when she described what it's like when the train whistle blows to announce the Sunset Special's arrival. People get giddy as if they were children hearing an ice cream truck's bells. "The train is here !!" What I really liked about the beers was that they seemed to represent all major beer groups. Not being a "young person", I'm not crazy about IPAs, but they had plenty of choices for me. Yesterday these were on tap - a Hefeweizen, a Pale ale, a Red Ale, a Blackberry Wheat, a Blueberry Cream Ale, a Blonde Ale, and a Black IPA. All are brewed on premises. They also served three "Guest Tap" beers, plus wines and ciders. I went with a $10 flight of four beers - Pomegranate Blonde Ale- 4.9%, Blu Hound (Blueberry) Cream Ale- 5.4%, Weiz-Azz - 5.2% , and Blackberry Tail-Wagger Wheat - 5%. I loved them all equally -no favorites and no clunkers . All in all, I can't think of a brewery experience I've enjoyed more.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon before seeing a play in the nearby Warner Theatre. Boy am I glad we stopped in! The brewery is in an old firehouse and had a great theme throughout. The decor was perfect and you literally sit in the old bays where the trucks were. The folks inside were so friendly and quick to offer recommendations and explain the place. There was an outdoor patio, an upstairs with tvs, and the big downstairs near the bar. A super nice layout. They had a 12 tasting flight, the biggest I've ever seen, and loved to be able to try all the beers. The hefeweizen was really good followed by the Vienna ale. Overall highly recommend a stop in!

Woodbury Brewing Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Woodbury, Connecticut in December 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Allan Cetrone, Tim Budrewicz, T.J. D'Alexander and Ken Mair. After he found his previous employer's ethical standards unconscionable, Cetrone decided to quit and find a new line of work. He and his friends frequently got together at a backyard barn man-cave which was complete with a fridge and kegerator. Cetrone had also been experimenting with his own homebrewed beers. Once their man cave became a popular spot for family gatherings, the four friends decided to open their own brewery. The taproom has a rustic saloon aesthetic (a nod to the friends' backyard barn man-cave) complete with a stage for live musical acts to perform. In addition to the housemade beer, WBC also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. I recently visited Woodbury Brewing Company for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see Hudson Valley-based Rush tribute band "Limelight". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started. I had a reserved table right by the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Nashville Hot GIANT Chicken Sandwich" (hot honey, cajun spice, pickles, mayo) with "Sweet Potato Fries" as well as an order of "Cheese Curds" (served w/ house-made marinara). I was totally shocked when the food finally came to the table. When they say "giant chicken sandwiches", they mean GIANT! I could barely fit the sandwich into my mouth, but it was so delicious! The sweet potato fries were equally big and delicious, and the cheese curds were really good too! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Yummy Beers" (Double New England IPA), "Collusion" (New England IPA), and "Barrel-Aged Don't Go Romanov" (Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout). They were all surprisingly good! Limelight also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I'll definitely be back! I already have a ticket to another show!

The soft pretzel, made fr spent brewer's grain was really good! The cheddar ale soup was a bit disappointing. It delivered on the ale, but the soup was thin and had a kind of gritty texture. Not the creamy texture you'd expect in a cheese soup. My wife got the brisket sandwich with fries. It was odd. Normally brisket is served sliced which accentuates the tenderness, but this was pulled, like pulled pork. The flavor was okay. I had the chicken pot pie which was okay. I wouldn't order it again. We didn't like the service at all. The staff wasn't really welcoming at all. When I went to the bar to pay for a four pack of brown ale, I waited probably five minutes before anyone paid attention to me. Two servers and the bartender all basically ignored me, and the bar wasn't busy. The bartender was engaged in small talk with other patrons. The highlights were the beer and the chocolate stout cake, which we took home. The beer is excellent. I had a brown ale and a stout. The chocolate stout cake with chocolate ganache is really good!
