This was one of the coolest places to hangout and talk with friends. There is a parking look steps away. When you walk in, it's really a nice break from reality with all of the whimsical, antique, speakeasy feel. You can sip on tea and coffee and walk around the shop. Nice size biscotti went well with their tea. I had the blueberry muffin also. My friend and I had two cups of tea that were great! Staff is super nice and we could have spent more than 2 hrs in there just relaxing and catching up. I look forward to going back there. My roommate and I stopped by on a Saturday night for a Victorian Ball themed event with live music by Jess. We had a great time! We wore our Victorian ball finest (some others did too, but many were in regular outfits) and we were greeted at the door by some kind staff who let us know how to order. The music was great and we made a few friends while chilling and chatting! The drinks were all really nice, I loved their specialty drink for this event, Christmas Yet To Come, which was a raspberry espresso martini. Delicious! I cannot recommend Fable and The Underworld enough! The business operates as a shop and tea house during the day (Fable) and shifts into a speakeasy cocktail lounge (The Underworld) in the evening. The vibes are absolutely amazing and the owners are so so nice and involved. They host events there all the time too which are lots of fun and good opportunities to chat. The entire business is completely decorated top to bottom with such cozy and whimsical vibes, it's like wandering into a witch's cabin in a magical forest. In addition to the style and incredible service, the drink offerings are incredible. They have so many teas available during the day which are super yummy. Go for the vibe and the tea, but this is not a traditional tea service. The vibe is specific to say the least. Something between the witchy shops in Salem MA and what I imagine being inside Taylor Swift's Folklore album would be. All in all, excellent execution. Half is a gift shop of sorts --plant clippings, herbs, jewelry, candles and perfumes-- and the other half is reminiscent of a home library or plush cafe. We went for tea. We split a pot of rooibos, it was excellent! We were provided sugar, but no milk or cream. A 32 oz pot I believe was $14, they were kind enough to add a half pot more water to it once we had finished the first. Pastries to eat with the tea were also all pre-packaged, nothing looked particularly fresh or homemade. We settled on vegan gummies, I would not recommend them (though no points deducted for this). The bathroom is good and spacious, tucked in the far back of the shop. read more

Fable is a unique and whimsical store of all things whimsical, it is also a tea and coffee shop. The well kept plants truly make this space feel like you're in some friend's secret room, who may know a thing or two about witchcraft. The soft music, and the sound of water rippling adds to the mystic and made me want to explore further. On one of the prior times I've gone here they had a musician on a guitar. Parts of Fable feel like you've wondered into the woods, but you're not lost. There are so many lovely little items you can get for your self or as a gift. I got a tea. They have a huge menu of teas, I chatted with the lady who made the tea, she suggested I get the Mango Black tea. I got it iced and it was $8. Honestly, I was very underwhelmed by the tea. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just very, very basic. There was the tea bag in my tea, I could easily make it my self. This isn't the type of tea shop, where you're getting so many nutritional vitamins and benefits from the tea. I would stop by Fable when in the area because they are truly unique, but I wouldn't get their overpriced, basic tea. read more

This is one of my new favorite spots in Connecticut. Part gift shop, part cafe, part immersive experience, Fable has it all. There's different themes throughout the shop, and you're immediately transported to a world of fantasy. My absolute fave part though is the cafe where you can watch the slow drip coffee and view all the delightful teas. I decided against a coffee (for once) and went with a hibiscus tea that was soooo good I bought some to take home with me. I also bought a bunch of Christmas gifts for family while I was there, there's something here for everyone. This is such a special spot in Southington. Love their tea - there are so many options to choose from. The owners are very knowledgeable and are always eager to help out. They also offer the option to order a pot of tea should you want to share with friends and relax in their lounge. All the tea is made to order - they can make it hot or iced. I typically peruse their gift shop while I'm waiting and always find something to purchase. I love that they support local artists. Aside from tea, coffee and gifts, they always have fun workshops and events happening. Their shop fosters a kind community and it's clear the owners care and work hard to make that happen. What a whimsical fairytale vibe I caught upon entering Fable. This little shop has it all, and there is so much to see. The energy is amazing, and the collection of treasures was endless. From plants to trinkets, candles, and sage, there was something interesting everywhere I looked. They even served coffee and tea, which I enjoyed while walking around admiring all the details. The most magical shop with beautiful gifts, gourmet food items, antiques, and offerings from local artists. They make a big effort to involve local musicians, artisans and businesses in their events. They really care about their customers and the community. They have the best tea in the area (loose-leaf!). Tons of different types including black, green, rooibos... and they're very generous with filling the tea bags. I like my tea strong and they don't skimp.
