Beautiful place to visit! Amazing lavender everywhere! Beautiful pond to have a nice walk around. They also have a Cute little gift shop to by many different thing. I bought two lavender plants! Love this place! This is my second year in a row visiting this beautiful place. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable.

Great for a day trip or for something new to do. Visited on a hot summer day, and the lavender lemonade hit the spot. There is not a ton to do here once you've walked around and hit the gift shop, but the workers seem very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. This is not an economical outing by any means, but you can grab some unique gifts here. The hydrosol is seriously the best glass and all purpose cleaner around.

This is a peaceful relaxing farm. They have a gift shop and there are two trails where you can look around. You can walk by the lavender plants and take pictures. It's very pretty with a pond, a covered bridge, and and a gazebo. Very nice. There's a lot of free parking. You can buy sachets and lots of cool lavender products.

Being the first day of summer, we thought it would be fun to check out the lavender pond farm since my friends and I love the aroma. Lavender is a flowering plant in the mint family that usually has a sweet floral scent. It's believed to be native to the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and India, and was first cultivated over 2,500 years ago. Lavender typically starts to bloom in June and can last into August in Connecticut. Unfortunately, it seemed that we were too early. There were a few lavender plants, but not much of an aroma. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and they have a gift shop where they sell just about everything you can put lavender into including lemonade.

Very nice place, perfect for an afternoon with friends or family. I found it to be very relaxing and calm, especially after a day spent at the beach. I just wish they had bigger bouquets with dry lavender. The service was very nice. The gift shop was very well stocked with lots of choices but a little bit pricey. I will definitely come back .

I love a visit to this property the best times imo are June & July, it's 100% free! We love the chickens named after Broadway musical characters, the little train, the shop with all the great smelling lavender items many hand sewn by the owner, the picnic areas (you can 100 bring food in from outside and sit & relax & enjoy) the pond, the cool flower shaped solar panels, it's friendly dog friendly, they sometimes are showcasing the lavender oil distilling process, they sell lavender bushes it's just beautiful and a not to miss CT attraction in the summer time.

First time visitor and they are 20 minutes from my home. I have had this place saved in my phone for the past 2 years because I've wanted to visit with the kids that I Nanny. It took a friend of mine to mention stopping by here before we went to Essex for lunch. Although the coloring was gone, which will only push me to come back again next season when the coloring is in bloom, this was a beautiful place to go for a bit of serenity. They have what looks like a man-made pond with a water fountain and again a really calming place to just sit on the grassy area and chill. I like that they sell two different size pots of lavender and many different types of lavender. They have small pots for $16 and larger pots for $20 The young lady Briana, I really hope I spelled her name correctly, she was super helpful and very knowledgeable. The little gift shop had a lot of great things, a really good variety and a couple of edible items. I purchased the chocolate bar and the lemonade, yum! They have a little train on wheels that drives around the property and I'm not sure of the cost, we did not go on the train but I will definitely go next time. They have little tables outside of the gift shop where you can sip on your coffee, they do not sell any kind of food/beverage as far as an eatery goes, but bring your own coffee and take it all in.

This was my 1st time going and it did not disappoint. We went during week so it wasn't roo busy. My son and I walked around, played the yard games (cornhole, life-size chess, connect four and tic tac toe) Be sure to take the train ride around the property. The conducter was full of knowledge and we learned a lot. I love the solar panel flower and the chickens too. Would love to go again

Purple haze all around Don't know if I'm coming up or down Yeah! Purple haze all in my eyes Don't know if it's day or night (Jimi Hendrix) Yes, there sure is purple all around you. We were fortunate to visit on July 4th, at the height of the lavender plants blooming, and we saw purple everywhere. Beautiful, fields of purple with what must have been thousands of bees gracefully dancing around the flowers. They were the mellowest bees we ever saw, and they never bothered us because they were busy working those lavender plants. What a lovely place this is -it almost seemed therapeutic to walk its grounds and enjoy the acres of purple beauty. We saw scores of people taking photos, single selfies, couple selfies everywhere using those purple fields as a backdrop. There are a lot of little touches to appreciate -a train that weaves around the property, a gazebo, a covered bridge, a gift shop, and a trail that circles a pretty pond with tiny dioramas of fairies and gnome villages. What a blast this must be for kiddies to discover them on the side of the trail. We interacted with half a dozen young and super friendly employees, and they couldn't be sweeter and more helpful. Five purple stars all the way

I would recommend going mid-June through mid-July. That's when the blooms are at their peak, and there is a pleasant scent of lavender throughout the property. The trolley ride is a cute touch. Even though you can can walk the route of the ride, the conductor will share some interesting details about the property. The cost is $6 and it's about 20 minutes. I think it's worth doing at least once. The store is cute and has lots of lavender-themed products in addition to crafts and treats made by locals. There are also birdhouses and fairy houses around the property that are pretty cool to look at. They also keep several thousand bees I can't picture spending more that 1.5 or 2 hours here, but if you happen to be in the area, I think it's a nice change of pace and something unique!

So.... my friend talked this place up and then brought me for a ride one afternoon. It's a cute little place. I guess in my mind I was picturing fields of lavender like you see in the movies. Lol. There were a couple small fields you could walk around. Cute gazebo you could sit in to enjoy the scent of lavender if it's blooming. An oversized chess set that the kids enjoyed. There's a cute gift shop. It's pricey.

It's hard to find inexpensive things to do in the summer with kids, but one search brought me here...and I'm SOOO glad it did! Getting there and parking was a tad confusing with the GPS, but so worth it! The property is stunning when the lavender is in bloom (June/July), and the whole aesthetic is gorgeous. PLENTY of amazing photo opportunities, so be sure to dress cute and snap away! Honestly, this would probably be the prettiest small wedding location. There are rows of different lavender varieties, a plethora of seats and garden accessories (gazebo, statues, garden games like giant chess and tic tac toe to name a few), multiple colorful beehives, an adorable store with everything and anything lavender (try the lavender lemonade!), a cute tram made to look like a train that takes guests on property tours for a small fee, and it's all pretty much powered by their one-of-a-kind "sunflower" solar machine! The sunflower is designed to move with the sun to collect maximum sunlight-amazing! There are walking paths that include a covered bridge and tons of fairy garden homes; my daughters insisted they even saw a fairy . They have a chicken coop themed for the theater complete with posters and a stage-too cute! We were also told there was a property dog named Flora who wears wings and roams around, but we didn't get to see her. Lastly, they have a scavenger hunt for kids where you look for Flora's "paw prints" throughout the grounds; each one has a letter and together the spell a secret message. Due to some extra young company I was with, we didn't get to do this, but cute idea! The best part is this could potentially be FREE. The tour costs money, as does anything in the store, but put on some walking shoes and you can access everywhere by foot. Pack a picnic lunch and you have yourself a beautiful, picturesque, fun, FREE afternoon!

Such a beautiful place to bring lunch, sit and relax on a beautiful day. The little barn is a shoppe with an array of lavender infused and inspired trinkets and gifts. Make sure you grab a refreshing cold lavender lemonade & take the tour of the farm on the cute train! This place is definitely a hidden gem in CT!
This farm is 25 acres and has approximately 10,000 lavender plants. It started in 2014. There is a gift shop, trails, a pond, lawn games, and gardens. It is apparently the largest in New England. They even have a fairy garden. It really is picturesque. It was a drive for me but worth it. The farm was beautiful and unlike anything I've ever seen or smelled. The lavender plants were so pretty with bees buzzing everywhere. The gift shop was filled to the brim with local items and many lavender products such as bug spray, soaps, hand sanitizers, etc. We went on the trolley and the driver was very informative about the property. They are also fully solar powered. If you love farms, flowers, and wholesome activities, this is worth the visit. read more
This was the fourth year my bestie and I have made it here and it's one of our must do summer activities every year now because who doesn't want to go and frolic through lavender rows (carefully of course). The giant chess set is fun, and there's tic tac toe you can play with rocks on giant logs. The train is adorable and you can buy a ticket to ride in it, and make sure you go check out the pond, there are fairy villages all around it. We love going into the shop and buying dried lavender and their lavender lemonade, and I have so many of their lip balms now it's not even funny. Definitely a must do right now because it's their peak season. read more

I've come here multiple times and it's always a relaxing step into the beautiful lavender fields. This time I got Lavender lemonade, honey, lavender blossom soap, lavender bath salts, a lavender diffuser, lavender popcorn, dog treats and honey sticks. I LOVE lavender!! There is a new game, "Floras Garden Adventure". You must find purple paw prints with letters that are scattered among the property. You must then unscramble the letters to form a phrase. I was unable to find all of them, but better luck next time. read more

What a lovely place! My husband took me here because I'm obsessed lavender. The farm is nice but there are many surprises I didn't expected. There's no entrance nor parking fee. But enough staff helping and super nice. There's also a cute little lavender train (little few). Overall very good for family to spend some time. Super dog friendly so our puppy had a great time (and lots of attention from people lol). The gift shop have a huge variety of products from human to dog to food... and I like all their products are animal safe and friendly too! There's a cute trial in the back around the pond, and there're "fairies" along the way, which make me smile and brighten up my energy and spirit. We also bout some lavender lemonade and enjoy some time by the farm and by the pond. When chatting with some people visiting learned that many just keep returning as well as re-purchase the products. So I'm excited to try the things we bought (also for our dog). There's a very beautiful house next to it I think it's the owner's house. The whole set up actually inspire me to create some place like this after my husband retire. Wild definitely come back and bring friends! read more

Will need to come back in a few weeks when most of the plants are in full bloom. Many friends had recommended this place so in my mind I thought it was a lot bigger than it really is. A GLORIOUS treat from my girls to me, a beautifully sunny day to walk around the fields, to smell that heavenly scent, see purple as far as the eye can see and watch the Bees happily flit from one flower to the next. After walking around, sitting on the bench and just soaking everything up we shopped. The lavender water isn't very strong but I suppose you wouldn't want that, it was refreshing. I bought two French Lavender plants crossed. And also a lot of Lavender scones, can't wait to try that. The lavender soy candles my daughter & I have already lite and smell delightful. Just a fabulous, relaxing visit that I would totally take the drive for again. Thank you read more

We had an amazing day at this quaint little farm! The grounds were gorgeous, and the little shop was COVID-friendly, with open windows/doors and the check-out moved to be outdoors in order to best accommodate everyone's needs. Additionally, the staff members were so friendly, and told us all about the farm and products-- we felt right at home! Would highly recommend for a family-friendly day trip! read more

What a treasure. This Lavender Farm is an absolute joy. I visited this place with a few close cabinet members of mine and was absolutely blown away. I am not ashamed to say I leaped, frolicked, and ran through the lavender fields, quickly forgetting all my troubles. My worries melted away as I sat watching a gentle breeze make the lavender fields dance to and fro. The staff is all friendly and professional, and definitely well versed in the world of lavender farming. The field staff were able to educate me on trimming techniques and I was extremely grateful. Additionally, the train ride was an absolute blast. Mike had me laughing until my sides hurt and then, I laughed some more. He seemed very excited to talk about the farm and was very personable. read more
I came here on a Sunday afternoon after visiting the beach in the morning. It was easy to find and there was a large parking lot that made it easy to visit. The grounds are pretty with games like cornhole, giant chess, and giant jenga. They also have a pond to walk around and a train to take a ride. The shop is cute with a lot of things to buy, both made by the farm and other vendors. Overall I'd recommend a visit. read more

I had wanted to go to Lavender Pond Farm for months after finding it online as a destination for engagement photos. So, I was very dead set on coming here. My fiancé has a very expensive and professional camera so we decided we would do some DIY photos instead of asking our wedding photographer, just to save some money. On the farms website they looked to have a very strict photo policy for anyone bringing a camera. They stated any staged photos, etc needed to pay the $25 fee. So of course, I paid it. Once we arrived at the farm there were people taking photos left and right with the same camera. The entire time we were there, no staff members came up to us or anyone else and I highly doubt everyone paid the $25. I'm not sure why there is a fee if it really isn't enforced. If I hadn't paid no one would have known or questioned it. So heads up to anyone else doing that. Definitely look into it more than I did. Besides that, of course the farm was beautiful and it smelled so amazing. There are definitely some patches of lavender more in bloom than others but it was gorgeous. They also have these cool wooden benches near the trees and wrapping around trees at the farm. If you're into lavender definitely check the place out, it really does have a calming affect while you are around it and you can sit and relax or walk around the farm. They also have a shop to buy lavender goods and lemonade, so they do offer more than just the few fields of lavender! read more
I was invited to Lavender Pond Farm with a few of my co-workers last weekend. They had all been previously and it was my first time. I heard nothing but rave reviews and could not wait to experience it for myself. We went on a Saturday around 1pm, which tends to get very busy from what I saw. There were staff in purple shirts directing traffic and incoming visitors to parking. My co-workers usually like to go in the morning right around when they first open due to it being a lot less busy. Once parked, we ventured out into the sprawling fields of lavender. There are over ten thousand lavender plants on the property. For $5 you can take their newly added trolley ride around the property, which gives you a full tour. If the trolley is not your thing, you are more than welcome to roam about the property at your leisure. The great part about this place is that it is free to visit. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They seemed to be genuinely concerned with your experience and understand what customer service is about. While walking around we ran into an employee who took in interest hearing about our experience. I was not expecting to have a full-on conversation, but it was delightful. While conversing, she shared a lot of facts with us such as there are over ten thousand lavender plants planted at any given time, that they attend the Boston Flower show, and how their business has grown over the years. Their little gift shop is so cute! You can purchase a variety of lavender products and plants alike. I purchased a bottle of their ice-cold lavender lemonade. The lemonade was outstanding! It was not too pungent with lavender and was not too sweet or acidic, it was the perfect thirst quencher! I was a little disappointed that I did not get the opportunity to try their herbal water, which they were sold out of. I also purchased a package of their lavender short bread cookies, which were gone before we even made it out of the driveway! The only thing I would recommend people to do is to eat before you come or eat elsewhere. I feel that the $14 for the majority of their menu items, other than the soup was a little high for what they were. We looked at their menu before hand and there were not any items that caught our eyes. The food is pre-made and stacked in coolers. There was a small tent where you can purchase food and trolley tickets. For me, it just was not worth it, but to each their own. Overall, a really a cute place to visit! read more

Absolutely relaxing and fun experience! I came to the lavender farm because my boyfriend said it was a pretty view. It really exceeded my expectations though! They have several acres of beautifully lined lavender with periodic benches and ornamental decorations. In the middle of the field there's a fun board for giant chess toy can use, and also a gazebo to get out of the sun. The best part is that the farm houses their own bumble bees. There must have been tens of thousands of bumbles out in the lavender. They were completely harmless and were happy to be pollinating. Never felt like one was coming for me and all the kids around seemed unafraid as well. The shop has all of the lavender products you could hope for. Lavender oils, soaps, bouquets, lavender plants, and a whole lot more. I even got some lavender flavored lemonade. This place is definitely worth an hour visit. Perfect stop for a relaxing weekend drive. read more

This is a nice place to visit for those summer days when you're looking for a fun little road trip in a scenic area. My wife, daughter and I drove down to check it out -- it was very busy, but not overwhelming, as the staff was doing a good job directing traffic. The big attraction, of course, is the lavender. It smells as good as you'd expect, and makes for Insta-worthy photos. (Be aware that it's a low plant, so if you want a good photo with some lavender, you're going to have to sit or crouch.) The gift shop and bistro were PACKED, so steel yourself if you want to check either of those out! read more

If you are looking for lavender this is the place to look at it and buy it. They have a small cutesy shop, prices are a bit steep. Lavender is their business, don't expect much else. Great little quite getaway out of the city. Not too crowded. Marked lines for social distance. The one food vendor ran out out real food and only had chips and salsa. Other vendor has popsicles. Small store that had mostly lavender scent bags and toiletries. Wish there was other options for food. The lavenders where bloomed but not super full. Guess we missed it. Nice staff. History
Established in 2014.
In February of 2014, we were fortunate to acquire the property that is now Lavender Pond Farm. Encompassing nearly 25 glorious acres with beautiful fields, expansive outbuildings and the freshest, fresh water pond we've ever seen, it was a dream come true for our family. We knew this was our opportunity to live the words of Miss Rumphius and create "a more beautiful place."

Any good restaurants with outdoor service near by open on Sunday?
Yes! Chow is right down the street. Their website still says they're takeout only, but I definitely saw people sitting outside at tables last weekend. You could call to confirm. La Foresta is also not too far away.

Visited Lavender Pond Farm for the first time this weekend and I must say it was such a nice relaxing day. There was no cost to enter and you could walk around the lavender fields for as long as you'd like. They also had some yard games set up (tic-tac-toe, giant chess, corn hole and connect four) that you could play. The one thing we didn't get to do was the train ride around the property because they were sold out of tickets. We did however go into their little shop and purchase lavender lemonade and lavender honey popcorn and both were surprisingly delicious. read more
