I've heard about them before and had them bookmarked for a while. The decor was awesome; spooky, punk rocky, and gothy vibes. There was a skeleton in the corner which was fun to look at with my toddler. The service was speedy and friendly; I ordered a medium (16 oz) iced honeycomb latte (honey, salted vanilla, milk, topped with honeycomb candy), which was one of their specials of the day. What a fantastic find this was! My wife was getting her hair cut at a salon in the same building, and I tagged along for an adventure. To kill some time I wandered into Perkatory. First impression was that it is super vibey . . . in a good way. They had a voluminous amount of esoteric flavors, but I opted for a simple cup of what was on the brew to try to get a baseline feel for the flavor of the coffee. I think the roasting had a very Goldilocks feel--not too dark, not too light, just right. I feel like it had a slightly nutty taste. Thoroughly enjoyable. I cannot wait to go back to try a more adventurous offering. I also wanted to point out that the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It felt like I'd been coming there for years. I have now been to all locations of Perkatory Coffee. They are all in sneaky, hidden locations. As I was leaving the Southington location, two people asked me where it is. It's in an old factory, that's been renovated to feature multiple businesses. Perkatory Coffee in Southington is small, but it is cozy and very inviting. They have a long bar table where you can sit, or cozy arm chairs. There are skeletons, and so many stickers plastered all over the front counter. I got a small hot salted caramel latte with regular whole milk. It was $7.00. That's pretty expensive especially since I didn't get any fancy milk. It was ready really quickly. I sat down with it on the comfy chair and enjoyed. This was very tasty, it was just like a salted caramel, except none of it was getting stuck in my teeth. This coffee is super strong, it will give you an instant caffeine kick! Perkatory is a fun place to get a coffee, but I wouldn't make it a habit. read more

Aesthetically, it is everything I love in a local coffee shop. I believe this time I ordered the Birthday Cake latte. It was a latte on their specials that day. For the most part, anytime I walk into any local coffee shop, I will more times than not order drinks from their special's menu just because......why not. This was a tricky place to find! It's in a large warehouse building. When I found it, we waited in a large line. There aren't really food options either unless I missed that? We ordered 3 signature coffees and I honestly didn't like the flavors of any. One was like a bananas foster one, chocolate strawberry, and a blended caramel coffee. I don't remember the exact names. They looked beautiful but didn't taste very good; the banana had too much artificial flavoring and the chocolate strawberry was bitter and there was no caramel flavor in the last. I've been getting beans from Perkatory for the past two years or so and overall they are just excellent. I use them for pour over and espresso and it is very rare that I have had anything below an excellent roast. Some of the blends aren't amazing, but that is inherent in all blends. I would say by and large you could choose any coffee they have randomly and they will be very good to excellent. I also love the vibe of the place, it's super chill and welcoming. Okay, wow! This place is so, so cool. You can't find many coffee places like this in Connecticut (or maybe I'm not looking in the right places?!). I've walked by One Factory Square MANY times and I did not realize how many cool stores were inside! Perkatory is especially awesome; it's cozy, hip, *and* spooky. There's limited seating inside the actual shop, but right outside you have tons of open tables in the center of One Factory Square. I ordered a small s'mores light roast with oat milk and it was delicious. The barista told me that the salted caramel flavor is a popular choice too. The menu was a little bit difficult to read from afar, so it might be smart to explore the online menu ahead of time and then decide what kind of flavor, milk, etc. you want once you arrive. Also, my coffee was perfectly made in less than a minute, so this place should get six stars honestly for fast and topnotch service! read more

We're not from Southington, and with the lack of signs and address numbers on the building, we took awhile to find the place. However, the coffee made up for all of that! They even have the option to add CBD to their coffee! Something for another visit. They offer 2 sizes - 12oz and 16oz. A 21oz size would be perfect! This location offers limited food options - mostly different flavor muffins. We had the blueberry. It was moist and really delicious! They are in the same building as Witch Doctor Brewing Co, so we have a feeling we'll be back for coffee and a good sour beer! read more

I happened upon this place through a social media post where they were promoting the "Lambeau Latte" for the Green Bay packers game day. I couldn't resist the temptation, I had to try it. Boy am I glad I did! Amazing drink and an even more amazing place. It's set inside a factory building with several other businesses including but not limited to an arcade, bakery, and a brewery! The place is really cool with a neat skeleton theme throughout. They sell their own coffee, t-shirts, and random other stuff as well. Very friendly staff and a giant selection of drinks. They also offer some bakery items for food that look delicious. There's a couple little seating areas inside the actual place and there is also an indoor courtyard type area just outside the door with plenty of other seating.
