A little too sweet for her liking but more so personal preference. Strawberry banana smoothie: 7/10 pretty good, no complaints. Spinach and feta croissant: 5/10 edible but very lack laster. Customer service wasn't bad. Drinks were made fast. They forgot to put my croissant in the oven so had to wait extra time. Plenty of seating. Decent decor. I enjoy my visits to Cheshire Coffee on East Main St Waterbury. They offer limited seating for small gatherings. The ambience has good feel friendly place to gather with friends. They offer a good selection of coffees, teas, pastries and breakfast items. I enjoy the ham egg cheese croissant. They will warm it up for you upon request. I suggest you have them keep in toaster till it heats thoroughly. The staff always greets with friendly vibe. Easy to approach with questions on your order. The 2 employees that I interacted with were very personable...one of them brought the coffee to my table because she had to brew a fresh pot-that was nice. I had the Harvest Autumn latte with almond milk. It had a nutty, cinnamon, cozy flavor. There is plenty of seating inside with lots of different options of seating to choose from such as chairs at a table or lounging in a sofa chair around a coffee table. The staff are friendly and helpful. This is a great stop when you need a little pick me up while out shopping or meeting up with a friend. This was my favorite study spot in college, now I come here to read before my appointments in Waterbury. I love their specialty drinks, I usually pick a drink from their seasonal favorites when I'm here. They also have a really good chicken sandwich that I'll get if I'm here around lunch time. Staff is always so nice and quick. I feel comfortable hanging out here. The only issue was I noticed a lot of their seating has the pleather torn apart so badly you can't sit on it comfortably. I enjoyed stopping by Cheshire Coffee's Waterbury location. They weren't busy so we were able to take our time looking over their menu. The friendly baristas were great answering our questions as we asked what was in a few coffee drinks before we decided. The coffee shop's space is very large with a lot of seating, that we stayed to enjoy our late-breakfast. Our hot lattes, Mudslide (a spring menu item) and Honey Bee (a staff favorite), were both delicious. Plus, we enjoyed their Spinach Feta and Ham, Egg & Cheese croissants. My favorite beverage hands down is Cheshire Coffee's dragonfruit smoothie. This drink features a unique taste that is a mix between sweet and tart. The coffee is good, as well as a majority of the staff- except for one. Mia is consistently nasty and condescending every time I come in. Simple questions or even just ordering is met with an attitude or a terrible tone. I never know what I am going to get with Mia - half the time drinks or requests that I come in regularly for can suddenly not be fulfilled only when ordering with her, everyone else has no problem. She makes it uncomfortable and unenjoyable to come in. read more

I love this coffee shop! It's so conveniently located in Waterbury with an easy entrance right next to the highway. If you're traveling eastbound on 84 it actually makes the route easier because you skip some of that Waterbury traffic by getting off/on. It's in a plaza with plenty of parking. The staff are all very friendly! There is a lot of space inside to sit with cozy chairs and tables. They have an extensive coffee flavor and tea list. And rotating flavors for the different seasons/holidays. I ordered an egg nog latte (made with real egg nog!) and a spinach and feta croissant. It was so delicious!! What I loved about the latte was that it was not overpoweringly sweet. They also have wraps, pastries, fruit smoothies....AND bubble tea with tapioca balls!!! I could go on and on about how I have become a regular at this place every workday morning. I could tell you how it's some of the best coffee I ever tasted. I could say how the service is fantastic and consistent and very quick to get you on your way in a hurry. I could tell you how Starbucks literally built a new shop next door to my work but I've never been in there because I drive nearly 2 miles down the street to visit this place instead. This place fits perfectly into the "Places I've Discovered Whilst Trying to Avoid Traffic on I-84" list. And in this case, I was glad I did! I'd heard great things about the original location from some relatives in Cheshire, so when we initially passed by it went right on the to-do list. The place is located in small strip mall and is right on the main road which is nice. Inside is clean and cozy and pretty chill overall. All the coffee selections I've tried were top notch and the sandwiches in the cooler are surprisingly really amazing. I'm not a tea guy, but my son is into all the exotic stuff and has tried a few varieties from their tea shelf. Nothing but rave reviews there. Service and quality are so good that this has become a pretty much regular stop for us. And let's be honest here, anything that keeps me from having to walk into a Starbucks is going to be an automatic win! read more

Same awesome coffee and same BANGIN breakfast sandwiches. Now that I'm back up in Harwinton, I'm glad that I don't have to give up my Cheshire Coffee habit on the way to work. I think I've tried every one of the breakfast sandwiches they have - and they're all great. My favorite is the egg, gouda, and applewood bacon. They press it on a panini press (well, they do that with all of them) and they're SO delicious. They have lunch type sandwiches too, which I haven't tried - mostly because I'm never around at lunch hour, and they're just BARELY out of the radius for me to get there, get a sandwich, and back to work in the allotted time on my break. I also haven't gotten anything fancier than an iced coffee with syrup either - but one of these days I'll have a latte or something. I highly recommend the banana nut bread syrup. SO GOOD. Drove by here everyday to go to work. Finally decided to stop in to check it out. Its in the plaza next to Kohls/Costco. I'm not a coffee drinker so I cant share my opinion on that but they do a great job with the breakfast pastries. They were delicious! I got myself a Apple Crumb Cake and Peanut Butter Granola Cup. The service was great. The people at the counter were saying hi to their regulars and she asked what I'd like and if I wanted it heated up. Ambience is calm and relaxing. Very cool set up. Actually came here by accident a few weeks ago! My friend and I were meeting for coffee and I didn't realize there were two locations. She was in Waterbury and I was in Cheshire so I drove a little further to meet her. This location has a big parking lot so parking was easy. Plenty of different seating areas inside. I got a medium iced green tea (15 degrees out and I get an iced drink...what a weirdo) but it was exactly what I wanted. My friend had gotten a coffee and a sandwich which she said she enjoyed. Overall I had a perfectly fine experience here but I don't live close so I probably won't be back in the near future. Definitely a fine spot to stop in for a coffee or tea and hang with a friend or work on homework. read more

I've been going to this café for several years, and as an African-American woman, I sometimes feel a bit out of place as the only black person in the store. My sister applied to work there a few years ago and never got a call-back. I expressed my interest in working in the Cheshire, CT branch, and was discouraged out of doing so. I've been going here since they opened years ago and I've honestly never had anything bad to say. Except I always end up spending more money than planned when I walk in. If you're looking for a fall feel, order any other their Hot Chai Tea Lattes. So rich, creamy, sweet and you can add any flavor. One my my favorites is the Lavender Chai Tea Latte or Lavender Coconut. The have a large assortment of teas, including bubble teas. Lattes, coffee, hot chocolate, you name it they have it. I met up with a colleague here to have a coffee and talk some business. This is a nice location. Very open and airy with a great selection of coffee and items to eat. I'm not a huge coffee connoisseur, so I can't go into a ton of detail on the coffee. Suffice to say, it was good. I had a spiced pumpkin pastry type item. It was really good! The staff was very friendly. We sat here for quite awhile and no one seemed to mind. Even as we left, the staff was pleasant and wished us a good day. I know they're not made in - house (they're kept cold in the cooler, I presume after being thawed, and are heated up when you order) so I didn't expect it to be amazing. And it as expected- ok. "Smooth Latte" My wife and I needed a boost of caffeine after shopping at Kohls. I remembered seeing Cheshire Coffee while driving by the plaza a few times. Neither of us care for Starbucks and D&D is hit or miss with their coffee. I was happy to see the comfortable atmosphere of Cheshire Coffee. The two people working there were very nice. I don't drink much coffee and they were helpful in advising me on the menu choices. I ended up getting a tall Cafe Mocha Latte with a chocolate biscotti. Smooth delicious coffee. My wife had a cappuccino and a chocolate coconut dessert of some sort. I forgot the name of it. She enjoyed her's as well. We were set back by the price of $15 for our order. But I'm told Starbucks is even steeper than that. As I had mentioned, I'm not a big coffee drinker but If I'm ever in the mood for a cup, Cheshire Coffee will be my first choice. read more

This place was solidly Meh. On the upside, there's plenty of seating near outlets for our work session, and friendly staff. The food options are decent; I got a bagel and yogurt, my husband got a panini. Drinks are SUPER sweet - they have a lot of interesting choices for flavored lattes but be prepared for them to be 100% sugar. I like local coffee shops in general. The food and drinks are good here. Great place to study. But damn the staff is just not it. I've come here probably 6 or 7 times and the staff is never nice. They always look angry when you walk in the door as if they don't want to serve you. Definitely doesn't make me feel comfortable at all. They all seem like they hate their job. read more
