Common grounds has been a staple coffeehouse in my world for many many years. I've gone to multiple, but the original one of my life is a Hamden. I love the way their shops are set up. All of though wood and brass gives it a very distinct Rustic industrial look. It's a really great space to meet up with friends or do some work. The Hamden shop is smaller than a couple of the other ones but it still has a little space in the back and outside space when it gets a little bit warmer. The people have always been very kind and accommodating. I've gotten a few things from there over the years, but the one thing I always get is the Paleo cookie! I know Paleo cookie doesn't sound very attractive, but I can promise you that it's beautiful in its own way. I go to drink at this moment is their turmeric latte with oat milk. And it takes a lot of willpower to walk away without a biscotti... Clearly I do not have that willpower. Definitely worth a stop.

Really happy that I have a great coffee shop that actually roasts their own beans on my way to work! The people in here are extremely friendly and the service is quick and efficient. I like that I can actually taste the different flavors of the beans when I get black coffee here but today I spoiled myself with a latte. They have a ton of options on their menu for true coffee, lovers, and a bunch of different coffee flavors that they roast in house that I believe you can grind and take home. All of their pastries are delicious and they even have gluten-free options. The inside is really cool if you need to come in and get some work done. I love the community seating options and the seating along the windows is a nice touch. I've been to some of the other locations that Common Grounds has and I like the consistency throughout each one I've been to.

A MUST visit!! Incredible coffee, pastries and service :) Huge variety of coffee flavors and fresh bakery items to choose from daily, including a wide selection of gourmet biscotti

Service is friendly and welcoming the second you walk in. This spot is a hidden gem for pastries. They are delicious & I'm obsessed with the overnight oats! Best I've ever had. Still trying to find the coffee that fits my taste but I'll keep going back until I find it. Totally worth it.

These are all huge biscotti

If you do anything, come for the biscotti. There are endless glass jars of different varieties. Anything dipped in chocolate is worthy (though this probably just my bias). The biscotti I've tried has a perfect consistency. The coffee menu has some really unique concoctions, especially if you want something fancier than a normal latte. I went for a cappuccino, and it was perfectly made. Biggest problem this spot has is that it's too popular! I can see why people want to snag a seat and stay a while.

Wonderful aroma upon stepping in the door and a nice selection of beans and munchies. Comfy leather chairs for a met up too. Or bring your computer and crab a bar stool and do a little work. Friendly baristas too!

Wow what a hidden gem and this place is less than 5 minutes from my house. The medium here is basically a Starbucks venti and the coffee taste is super smooth and great. I really wish they did latte art here but that's more of a personal preference. The interior vibe has what I assume a very Central American vibe, heavily into it. Seating however inside is limited, area is clean but cluttered with sacks of coffee beans. Not sure if that's supposed to be part of the interior theme or if it's storage sitting outside. Certainly would come back.

My favorite coffee shop of all time! Cozy atmosphere, great menu, and great coffee. Commons Grounds has been my go-to place to get work done for the past 4 or so years! They have a wide selection of beverages as well as a wide selection of flavors to add in to each of them! They also have delicious scones and crumb cakes to snack on while you work! If you go, try one of their speciality flavor combinations! Definitely one of my favorites!

Good drinks-coffee and tea. Lots of huge pasties. Very good prices. Nice atmosphere. Could use more comfortable seating, chairs with backs.

Service was good but the muffins and scones are ice cold. Almost frozen and low quality. Extremely dry

They roast in-house and focus on high-quality coffee for their shop, wholesale and online ordering. You can pick from many single origins, blends and espresso options. Owners Eric and Christine take the time to educate you about coffee and anything you want to know about it. They take pride in crafting great drinks and can give some great recommendations! They offer a tea garden patio, a labyrinth for walking meditation, and fountains. When it comes to their menu, they rotate their different blends including one of their top sellers, the Worldly Blend. I LOVED trying two of their specials: Strawberry Nutella Iced Coffee and the Banana Cream Cold Brew. While visiting, there were multiple customers raving about their drinks too--you won't be disappointed with any option you pick! They also frequently offer education events, in house tastings and other paired wellness combinations worth checking out. Key Features: Parking, lots of options to choose from on the menu including great lemonades and teas for non-coffee consumers. Their outdoor area is great on a nice day, and they have gift options to take (cups, gift cards, beans, hats, etc). Offer milk alternatives, a rewards punch card if you frequently visit and indoor tables and bar to sit at.

"I got a girl, she lives on the hill She won't do it but her…read moresister will" (ZZ Top) We visited the very cool Elicit Brewery in Manchester to check out their Holiday Market. One of the 23 vendors was the Traveling Sisters Roasters, and we stopped by to chit-chat and learn a little about the business. They are a Connecticut licensed cottage business out of Colchester, and they roast and sell a few custom blends in bags or K-Cup style Pods. Their coffees are available at Farmer's Markets and special events around Connecticut, and on their website. Connecticut customers can get free delivery. Their seven blends include beans from Peru, Columbia, Brazil, Sumatra, Guatemala, Java Indonesia, Mexico, Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, so there is a big variety of undertones for your sipping pleasure. The blends also vary in acidity for those with a sensitivity to that. I love dark coffee so there was no way I was going home empty handed. K-Cup pods were $2 each, so I picked up one of three different blends. Here are their web descriptions: Daring Flight - Dark Roast "Featuring dark roasted coffees from Mexico, Guatemala, and Ethiopia. Blended together they make a bold full-bodied cup of coffee with chocolate and citric notes and just a hint of spice. The perfect coffee for those who like a dark rich cup of coffee to start their day." It was a very good cup of coffee, smooth, no aftertaste and no bitterness. Soby's Journey. Dark Roast "Featuring the dark roasted coffees of the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Costa Rica. A smooth creamy blend with undertones of vanilla, chocolate and orange with low acidity." I definitely picked up a vanilla undertone on the Soby, but the overall flavor was lighter than I expected for a dark coffee. Global Adventure - Dark Roast "Featuring dark roasted coffees of Ethiopia and Colombia. A smooth blend with undertones of sweet chocolate and red fruit with some sweet nuttiness with low acidity." I knew this was going to be my favorite before I even had a sip because the brewed aroma was fantastic - a deep dark flavor profile. Traveling Sisters also sell medium and espresso roasts, and a decaf. Go check them out and see for yourself.

The coffees are fresh yes I will say that but I asked for a small caramel flavor and just received a black large coffee, the hazelnut coffee also did not taste like anything. The egg spinach wrap had no flavor, the egg was way too over cooked & overloaded with spinach the only thing giving it flavor was the hot sauce. The bagel was okay, I personally like them to be more toasted but it is what it is. Pastries are definitely giving Costco for sure. Highly doubt I would be coming back, and definitely wouldn't recommend.
