    pumpkin spice latte ($5.50)
    Chassidie L.

#19 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES A cozy coffee shop to work and study! They have outlets, free wifi, plenty of seating, and a parking lot. On the weekends they can get a bit busy, but if you don't mind a little noise, this is the place for you. I got one of their fall speciality drinks: a pumpkin spiced latte and it was good! You could taste the pumpkin spice and the espresso. The drink is on the sweeter side though. They also have all your classic coffee shop drinks. Overall, I would definitely come back here to study and try a new drink.

Cute place to do work! Free wifi and a good amount of seating despite being on the smaller side. The parking lot can also get full. The workers were super friendly. The actual consumables are not the greatest, though. They were out of caramel, so I ended up getting an iced chai. It was very watered down and tasted mainly like milk with a tiny bit of chai flavor peaking through. The cinnamon roll was also not a classic cinnamon roll and was flakier like a palmier. It was a little dry, but not too bad.

Stopped in to grab a latte and enjoy the company of my friend. I got a hot pistachio latte with oat milk. It was delicious. We sat at the counter style seating in front of one of the windows. Pools of sunshine filled this lovely coffee shop adding to the bright and airy feel. The seats were surprisingly comfy. I loved that I could rock a bit with my back in the chair. Ground up Coffee offers many delectable coffee treats from espressos to macchiatos and everything in between. They also have a case of lovely looking pastries. There is plenty of parking and the establishment is easy to get to. They are reasonably priced as well. I will definitely be coming back.

Love this place!! DON'T just drive by. DO sign up for the rewards program. It's small but there's enough seating, additional seating outside in warmer weather. Staff is friendly & welcoming, especially the manager (Mark?). Plenty of drink options, but my fav is the pumpkin spice latte-- hot or iced. Not too sweet. A few baked items are available. Go check it out!!

Such a cute place to grab coffee! I ordered the fruity pebbles iced latte and wish I got a bigger size because it was so delicious and not overly sweet. Everyone working there was super friendly and all our drinks came out quickly. Next time, I'll be sure to try a pastry or bagel too. Definitely check out this spot if you're in the area!

This is hardly a blueberry muffin :( ... disappointing. Doesn't even taste like a blueberry muffin should.

I was new to this place and no one greeted us or told us I was standing at the wrong counter to order while my baby was crying--stood there for almost 5 minutes. When I ordered I pointed to the only blueberry muffin in the case for my toddler and once I got in the car noticed it was not the one I pointed to but a much different looking muffin with very few and random blueberries. I was so confused. It was for my three year old ... I know she won't be as excited since it won't be blue like the one I pointed at. And very sadly--Tastes nothing like a blueberry muffin. The cinnamon bun is dry, too. Coffee is good enough but I would it likely go back to this spot. Only went bc Whitney Donuts was closed. :(

Been waiting for a coffee shop i could walk to in this area for a LONG time! For me, a coffee shop doesn't have to do much to hit five stars. Make it easy to order (check), be friendly but not too friendly (if you're not yet aware, this is a coffee house staple and it's ESSENTIAL, also check), and have good coffee (double check!). I ordered a plain cappuccino and a couple baked goods. The espresso was top notch. The lamest thing you can say about a review of a US coffee shop is "it reminds me when i was back in Italy!" but unfortunately that's the case here. I'm excited to come back and try the drip coffees and cold brew and honestly i'll probably do it tomorrow. The muffin and cookie were great. I'm pretty sure they're not baking in-house (don't quote me on that), but wherever they're getting stuff from was excellent. I rounded up the muffin crumbs afterward and ate those too. The layout is a little wonky, but the vibes are great. Probably not a place you wanna sit and read a book for a couple hours, but it feels like they're going for a little more of a takeout vibe. The seating is still plentiful and i got to wave to some nice dogs on the sidewalk. Always a plus.

My absolute favorite coffee shop in Connecticut! I travel a lot for work and try different coffee shops while on the road and I must say ground up coffee is my absolute favorite. The atmosphere is perfect for doing emails and getting work done while sipping on my favorite lattes. I haven't been able to find a latte that compares to this one yet. My latest was an iced pistachio with almond milk.. sooo delicious! I paired that with a chocolate chip cookie The staff is always super friendly accommodating and professional. I love the decor, and everything is super clean. I will be returning over and over again

The owner is absolutely incredible -- talented, dedicated, and genuinely one of the most hardworking people in this industry. She opened her café during COVID at a young age and built it from the ground up through pure passion, grit, and love for her community. That alone deserves recognition. The selection is always thoughtful and creative, and the specials are phenomenal. She makes all her syrups by hand and sources gluten-free items in-house, which takes so much time and intention but shows how deeply she cares about quality and inclusivity. You can taste the effort in every single drink. Crossroads is a place built on heart, and the coffee community is extremely proud of her. She does not get enough credit for everything she's accomplished and everything she continues to pour into her space. If you want to support a café run by a genuine human being who truly loves what she does, this is the place. Highly recommended -- not just for the coffee, but for the person behind it.

Recently obsessed with this local coffee joint. Been spending the week in North Haven checking out…read moresome spots. Super cozy place, eco friendly with some of the best coffee/matcha. Friendly service at the counter, few tables inside to lounge at. My wife and I frequent the Last Drop in Monroe and this is ultra comparable. Very good pricing and kudos to them for using and making homemade syrups! I am a matcha guy so I get an iced matcha latte with vanilla cream cold brew. My wife has had the special Cherry Cold Brew which sells out quick and some lattes with cinnamon brown sugar, fantastic. I vow to get there early enough one of these days to try their blueberry muffins, always sells out quick. They have a host of other pastries as well, you are missing out if you don't try this place.

We stopped into Bread & Chocolate shortly after noon on a Sunday knowing they were closing in under…read morean hour. Most of their baked goods were sold out, which totally made sense because it was nearly closing time and the items that remained looked delicious. So we were sure that whatever had been sold before was more of the same. I ordered a hot latte and the kiddo ordered a raspberry tea. We also decided to order toasted sandwiches (grilled vegetables for me and grilled cheese for her) to enjoy in the shop. Enjoy we did! The latte was served with a foam smiley face. The espresso was strong and delicious and tempered nicely by the milk. Her tea was piping hot and fruity. The sandwiches were toasted but not blazing hot, for which we were thankful because we were very hungry. They also weren't greasy - an issue I have with other toasted sandwiches. As a side note - why do sandwich shops slather sandwiches in oil or butter when a simple iron sandwich press and a hot grill will suffice? Anyway, our sandwiches were great! They were filling but didn't leave us feeling lethargic (please refer back to the not greasy comment.) We were so happy to have a good meal and a seat after a long tour around the Quinnipiac campus. Bussing one's table is expected and the staff kept the tables spic and span in between patrons. Speaking of the staff, the young man who took our order and was servicing the dining area was kind and patient as we ordered. We made sure to leave fifteen minutes before closing because we didn't want to be THOSE people, namely the couple in the corner who'd setup their computer shop and looked to have no intention of leaving without a fight. We will definitely return to Bread & Chocolate if we find ourselves in the area again.

This place was extremely disappointing…read more I've had their bread at local restaurants and always thought it was excellent, which is what motivated me to visit in person. Over the past few months, I tried stopping by three separate times, twice they were already closed, and once they had completely sold out of bread. I finally made it there on a Sunday morning, and they had only one loaf left, and not a type I wanted. We decided to order two egg and cheese sandwiches (one with turkey bacon). Both were terrible. The rolls were soft, soggy, wet, and flavorless. Each sandwich had a single egg placed off-center, so half the roll barely had any egg at all. The turkey bacon was so bad we removed it and threw it out. Normally, I would have just moved on and not returned. But what really pushed me to write this review (which I never write) was the carrot cake we purchased. We took it home, refrigerated it, and tried it later that evening. It was, without question, the worst piece of carrot cake I've ever had. The frosting was hard, dry, stale, and completely lacking flavor, no sweetness at all. The cake itself was equally bad: dry, crumbly, and utterly tasteless. There was no hint of carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, or any spice, just bland, dry crumbs. The cake was completely lacking sugar. After two bites, we threw it in the garbage. I don't say this lightly. I've been cooking and baking for decades, hold a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and spent over 20 years in the industry. I've traveled extensively and eaten outstanding food around the world. For me, someone who genuinely loves desserts, to throw cake away (which is rare) says everything. I understand it was a Sunday and that fresh baking may not be happening that day, but it's simply not acceptable to sell baked goods from prior days that are clearly stale. Even more concerning than the staleness however, was the complete lack of flavor in the product. The sandwiches were disappointing, but that cake was on another level. I won't be returning for sandwiches or desserts, but perhaps the bread.
