Had a very good dinner at this spot. It's kind of a weird place being that the property is huge and feels more like a big event space. Spacious outdoor, big indoor bar with lots of TVS and big dining area. Really well done and looks nice inside. Service was nice with GM walking around greeting diners. Server was on top of you, but not pushy. Food was good. I felt like the portions were a little small for what you pay for. I really expected a little more brisket in the $48 bbq combo. We read reviews before we decided to make reservations & go here. I understood the restaurant was closed for 3 years during the pandemic. The inside was clean & had an outside patio that I could see from the bar. The positive part of my experience is they have an awesome, large bar area. So much that I had wished we would have ate our dinner in the bar instead of the restaurant. Our table was towards the back of restaurant near the kitchen where I never like sitting at any restaurant. The service was decent as they were pretty busy on Valentines Day. The negative experience is my husband & I both ordered fish as we didn't want red meat. My salmon was undercooked & the asparagus wasn't good. The scallops were just okay. The Rosita was delicious & the appetizer (calamari) was tasty. They also have a really good blue cheese dressing for your dinner salad. It might be that this is a restaurant you should definitely order ribs, steak, etc., etc. & not fish. Our server was Oscar and he was fabulous! Happy hour prices are good and the food quality was amazing. We shared the nachos and they did not disappoint. The queso with the nachos was a little "grainy" in consistency, not sure why. We did enjoy the nachos and we also had the watermelon and beet salad. So good. They hosted a 75 person buffet dinner for us, for the lacrosse sand storm tournament. It was amazing! Everyone kept saying how awesome the place was. We were right by the enclosed outside which was beautiful and perfect for the kids to run around. Plenty of space and great amazing food! Next year we will be back ! Last I had been the food wasn't bad but the service was a guarantee to be awful. Not anymore. We had great service and the management was walking around introducing themselves making sure all was going smoothly. The food was very good. Even a simple patty melt was like steak on fresh rye with bacon and sweet grilled onions. Perfect. Brisket that melted in your mouth. The gardens outside are so beautiful and the weather is getting perfect for it. Let's start with the good stuff: ***** 5-Stars for ambiance and charm. The grounds are stunning, the inside decor does a great job of transporting you to Wyoming. **** 4-Stars for service. Our waitress, Tina, was extremely personable and efficient. Loved her brief history of the restaurant - it was a very nice touch. **** 4-Stars Cobb Salad - at first glance it seemed a bit over priced, but the serving was huge. Ingredients were super fresh. No complaints. Now for a reality check - and Jackalope Ranch General Manager (Charlie) I hope you read this and apply the learnings. We won't be back and based on our experience, we won't recommend it to our friends: * 1-Star Baby Back Ribs - at $33 my husband expected fabulous ribs. What he got was a very dry, practically inedible plate of ribs. * 1-Star Customer Service - A man named Charley stopped by our table and identified himself as the manager. He asked how our dinner was - my husband shared that his ribs were extremely dry and overcooked. Charlie responded he'd never heard that feedback before and he would "check". We were surprised that we didn't get an "I'm sorry" or an offer to get something else. Only a brief comment by Charlie that he would "check". We expected he would come back - after he "checked" but no such luck. We found out later Charlie is actually the general manager. What a shocker - you'd think being the GM of a new restaurant he would want to make sure customers are happy. And I can't believe he wasn't aware that many customers, as posted recently on Yelp, have had less than satisfactory experiences with the food served at the restaurant. Shame on you, Charley, for not putting your customers first -- you will lose business because of it. read more

We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. We asked to sit on the patio to enjoy the nice weather and music, but were told it was full or reserved--even though it was completely empty. Instead, we were seated in a booth right next to the kitchen, with no view and no vibe. We politely asked to be moved, and while they did eventually accommodate us, it took speaking to two different people and felt like we were putting them out. The food itself was actually pretty good--the sandwich special was tasty, and we enjoyed our drinks and dessert. We were having a nice time, even danced a little, and were there for about an hour and a half. But when we returned to our table after dancing, the waitress told us we had to leave because they needed the table for a bigger party. It felt rushed and honestly a little disrespectful, especially since the hostess later told us there wasn't a time limit on tables. Overall, this could have been a really lovely night, but it was clear the staff was more focused on turning over tables than making guests feel welcome. I made a reservation a month ago for a large group (16) after seeing pictures and doing some research jackalope seemed as if it could cater to large groups being it's a HUGE property with tons of space & room. The actual spot is stunning and clean & overall beautiful however that is all it had working for it. It took an hour to receive our drinks after ordering, 5 times of asking & 2 hours for half our table to get their first glass of water & 2.5 hours for food to arrive. The waitress spilled on one of our girls & said "you're lucky you were wearing that jacket" it was terrible, one of our 16 got the wrong order & after speaking with the manager & owner they did take a small amount of the bill but still included the 20% gratuity. read more

Covid caused a 3 year closure, and I had heard there was new ownership, so we gave it another try. Jack-a-lope ranch review I have been there more than a few times with the same outcome. Wait times are exorbitant with no notification after an hour during busy hours when I should have been contacted. Nothing! Long waits and you may not be notified. Meals are rated by me as $$$$ with small portions. Bartenders are overwhelmed and cannot meet the demand to satisfy the bar area as well as supporting the restaurant. Horrible customer service. We sat for 25 minutes before flagging down the hostess. She apologized profusely. The manager brought us water after 35 minutes. A waiter from a completely different area took our complete order. Someone else brought food we were never asked about the food and only saw the waiter when he brought us our check. It sat for 10 minutes before we finally got a bus boy to take it he gave it to another manager. Waiter came with a credit card payment machine and then he had to track down the manager. When we arrived we were seated and our waiter introduced himself. The water was served then we ordered our drinks. We waited 35 mins until our drinks arrived. One person in our party sent the wine back saying it was horrible. I ordered a double Jack and Coke. I could barely taste any alcohol at all. Then the waiter handed me a warm can of Coke to "freshen up" my drink. Never seen that before. We didn't receive our food until an hour into our stay. I do have to say everyone said the food was good. Not outstanding but good. We brought a cake to have served. I had to ask the waiter 3 times to serve it. They were pleasant when it was finally served us. But it took forever. Our entire party said the ambiance was fabulous there, but nothing else was. We have been three times now and are giving up. We had called for possible reservations for a party of 8 and was told not to worry about it if we wanted the bar area, assuming we arrived just after opening. I told her we had 18 and 16 year olds, and the person on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived we inquired about seating and shared what we were told over the phone. Apparently what was told to us prior to driving over was not the availability for the evening. We were met with an incredibly loud and rude front hostess, that we felt was unnecessarily abrupt and very unapologetic of the misinformation that was shared with us over the phone. After we explained that we called ahead of time and what was said, she just kept telling us there was no room for us outside. (Which would have been fine, had we been told that 15 minutes prior on the phone!) The tone and volume of her voice created a scene in the lobby area that was uncalled for. She didn't offer us any alternative seats or even apologize for the misinformation and trouble coming down to the restaurant. I I have so many fond memories of the old Jackalope , but will take the new staff into consideration and find another place to spend my money. Jackalope, if you read these reviews, you need to train employees better all around. From the call ahead of time to make a reservation, the misinformation shared with us, to the rude and very loud front hostess, I feel this experience did not meet the quality that I would expect from any restaurant and worker. read more

We came here in November, we were able to sit in the patio next to the fire pit with heaters overlooking the waterfalls and the beautiful gardens that were lit up like a fairy tale. I enjoyed the seafood salad, it was fantastic. A half lobster, 2 crab cakes shrimp and a decadent dressing. 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend. Hard to know where to begin. The entrance was half closed off - bizarre. Once we entered, the place seemed very familiar as no real esthetic changes had been made since the Jackalope reopened under new ownership and management. We had expectations that if it was at least as good as it was when Ray Callander owned it, then it'd be good enough! Before I set in, our waitperson was very charismatic and gracious. She was the best part of our experience there! That aside, unfortunately... The Paloma cocktail at $17 was uneventful. No muddled jalapeno, no tanjin on the rim? *shrug* it was just not very good... I ordered the Brisket plate. It was awful, especially at $40. Really?? Applewood smoked for 12 hours and no smoke ring? BS. No exterior seasoning (S&P), no moisture, (it was dry even with the off-the-shelf sauce). Besides, everyone knows, "sauce is a myth" Dry rub is the only way to go. Chef, can the rotisserie method and the applewood, go with static racks at 225-250 degrees, trim the Brisket right and use post oak or mix it with a fruit or nut wood. AND practice, practice, practice! The cornbread was dense and without much corn flavor - Chef, go back to the drawing board on this one too. The corn on the cob was so uninviting I didn't even try it. The slaw had potential, but it was f'n warm from sitting under the lights! One bite and I was done with that too. However, the beans were pretty good, black, smoky and with shredded brisket or pork, could not tell exactly, but they were the best part of my plate. My wife had the wagu sliders, and they were over cooked. The onion rings were done pretty well, but whatever, this meal cost $130 with tip and we had zero problem with the tip - it's not her fault. Note to management: I can help you remedy that great venue. Just let me know. Otherwise, that will be our first, and last, visit. P.S. Anyone who gave this place above 3-stars doesn't know a thing about the food service industry or BBQ. read more

Four of us tried Jacalope for a mid week dinner. We arrived a few minutes early and we were seated promptly. From start to finish our wait person--Tonya--was exemplary. The menu has something for everyone. My wife really enjoyed the fresh salmon over risotto. Our companions ordered the smoked pork and baby back ribs and they were very pleased. The ambience is great especially the outdoor dining. Food is average at best. Service was fine until we got the bill. My husband ordered a salad and I a sandwich. We asked to have the salad first. We never asked for it to be split or shared. I don't eat enough salad to feed a bird. When the sandwich came it was on two plates with some extra fries which we didn't eat. The bill came and we were charged $12 split charge. I asked for a menu and after really searching I found it written in red in the crease of the menu from top to bottom. I normally look for "split charges" but this was not noticeable. They refused to do anything. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he wasn't available and would call. He never did. It seems that if a restaurant is going to charge a split charge they should inform the customer up front. Also, $12 is really excessive! We won't go back. read more

The problem is the service staff are very friendly but are lacking in training. This place could be the premier restaurant if they implement training for a more professional and proper staff that would complement everything else they do so well.
