We came here in November, we were able to sit in the patio next to the fire pit with heaters overlooking the waterfalls and the beautiful gardens that were lit up like a fairy tale. I enjoyed the seafood salad, it was fantastic. A half lobster, 2 crab cakes shrimp and a decadent dressing. 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend. Thought we'd go to Jackalope for drinks and an appetizer. Got there at 3:45, asked the hostess if we could at least be seated on the patio. No, we open at 4:00. I said" so you're going to let 3 guests walk out" (we had a $70 dollar tab at Big Rock Pub) Being in the restaurant biz myself I was appalled that struggling Jackalope would pass on 3 fabulous guests. In this day and age it's all about customer service of which they have none. Bathroom had sewer gasses leaking in to restaurant. So much for a remodel guys! I suggest another restaurant that is warm and inviting, who will serve at least drinks. Jackassalope is not the place. read more

First time here, honestly we weren't satisfied with the quality of food or service. I ordered a mojito tasted like lemonade, shared the Pit master with a side order of Bronco fries. Everything was dry and cold even the baked beans! Corn bread was disappointing! Mediocre BBQ to say the least. The fries were really good. And was the only thing that was actually hot. I was really disappointed with my appetizers Pork tacos were too fatty - at first i thought it was the soft pork but it was not The sausage charcuterie board had one very disappointing sausage with olives small cheese bites blackberries that were not sweet and small green chilies. The fig jelly was the best part and some pita. Im not usually so picky but i woke up the next day snd both my husband and I said "that was bad" compared to the prior restaurant food. The ambience is great especially the outdoor dining. Food is average at best. Service was fine until we got the bill. My husband ordered a salad and I a sandwich. We asked to have the salad first. We never asked for it to be split or shared. I don't eat enough salad to feed a bird. When the sandwich came it was on two plates with some extra fries which we didn't eat. The bill came and we were charged $12 split charge. I asked for a menu and after really searching I found it written in red in the crease of the menu from top to bottom. I normally look for "split charges" but this was not noticeable. They refused to do anything. I asked to speak to a manager and was told he wasn't available and would call. He never did. It seems that if a restaurant is going to charge a split charge they should inform the customer up front. Also, $12 is really excessive! We won't go back. read more

Not one of us could eat our ribs. Worst ribs ever. 4 of us got baby back ribs , Dry, not even moist. Hardly any bbq sauce on them. So they were kind enough to bring us lots of extra sauce That still didn't do the trick. I thought baby back ribs were suppose to be moist and fall off the bone. Not these. The hamburger was dry. The beans that come with the ribs should have been called shredded beef in bbq sauce with a few beans scattered in them. There was more meat than beans in the "beans". We came for dinner and brunch and I so badly wanted to give this place 5 stars. The facility, the atmosphere and the food are some of the best in the Coachella Valley. The problem is the service staff are very friendly but are lacking in training. This place could be the premier restaurant if they implement training for a more professional and proper staff that would complement everything else they do so well. Upon arrival the hostess reported they were running behind on seating guests for reservations, we appreciated the transparency. However, it's unacceptable to be seated an entire hour later from your reservation time. No manager came to acknowledge such inconvenience. The worst part is we were celebrating a birthday with a party of 4. Food wise, it was decent. I ordered the sliders and they were cold. My husband ordered the pit master and we were told there was no more baby back ribs and due to lack of communication between the server and the cooking staff they reported they had ribs for the pit master and when our food came out the plate didn't have any ribs. How??? We advised the runner and he told us there was no ribs so we let him know what the server told us and he confirmed with the cooks and we were provided the ribs (thank goodness)! We met friends at 4:30 and they were not busy, but the service and food arrival was very slow!!! It took a long time to place a drink order, so we ordered meals at the same time although that was not our plan. We had four different meals and all of them were warm, not hot. The chicken was not cooked through and had little flavor. Coleslaw lacked flavor and fries ordered well done were limp. The sliders were dry and without flavor. They didn't offer to refill the iced tea or ask if we wanted another beer, which I did. Overall a very disappointing experience. I had bbq pork ribs , delicious and was all the side, with the exception of the corn bread it was a size of ice cube but two of them. The worst thing was that Trump happened to be in Coachella doing a rally. They had it on a huge screen and most of the other TV's in the venue, and as it went on they kept turning it up. This was the second time we have had a bad experience with Jackalope Ranch. The first time was New Year's Eve. We had a confirmed reservation, made on Open Table, for New Year's Eve. We never received word from Jackalope Ranch that they had decided not to open on New Year's Eve. Very unprofessional! Today we had a reservation for the day after Thanksgiving to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived, the hostesses were not very friendly to greet us. They had difficulty in finding a table for us despite our reservation and the restaurant being relatively empty at the time. When we were finally seated, the hostess flung the menus at our table and walked away. We were nothing but polite and friendly. There was no reason for her actions. It seemed like our waiter realized her unprofessional behavior and poor attitude and tried to compensate for it. He was very friendly and provided excellent service. No one was impressed with the quality of the food. I doubt we will go back. I do not recommend this restaurant. The prices are too high and the food was not good. read more

This was our favorite place to eat when we come to palm springs but they changed the menu. It took 1 and a half hours for our food but the waiter was really apologetic about that. The view is great as always with their waterfall and field with lights chairs and palm trees. read more

When I first read the Yelp reviews, I didn't know what to expect. The food was really good! I had the bbq chicken salad as I'm not a steak person and would totally go back here. The place is beautiful! Super clean! Great service from our server. Her name was Lilliana. She was able to give us great service as we were a big party of 11 while she was also serving another big party next to us. The hostess in the front was nice enough to take photos of us in the front and the back of the restaurant. We were celebrating a 50th birthday party. I can see why this is a wedding venue. The back of the restaurant is beautiful! Thank you Jackalope for making my friends dinner so memorable with great food and great customer service. Was in Indio for vacation and decided to have a little BBQ at Jackalope ranch. We did make a reservation same day and didn't have a problem getting in. The bar was packed for the Paul/Tyson fight so the place was pretty busy. Ordered an Old Fashion and it was a pretty good one. Our party ordered the brisket plate, salmon with lemon risotto, the tri-tip platter, a burger and the potato skins. The tri-tip and salmon were the best. Tri-tip was cooked to perfection. The brisket was a bit on the dry side and the BBQ sauce came already on the meat (would recommend having them put it on the side). Their ranch beans (which come with the red meat plates as well as in the loaded potato skins) are pretty yummy as well. Overall great experience and would recommend it to those in the Indio area. read more

Went to Jackalope Ranch with friends for dinner after we've heard good things about the newly reopened, newly owned restaurant. After a bit of a seating issue, we were seated quickly in a much better location within the restaurant. Our waiter came quickly and the service was much better than the food. I opted for their Mac and cheese with beef brisket. From the description on the menu I was looking forward to M&C with a crunchy topping of garlic bread crumbs and gooey cheese. It came with a salad which turned out to be spring greens although our server couldn't definitively tell me what the greens were. He assured me there was no Romaine, which I'm not able to eat. My entree arrived and it was just a bowl of mac and cheese with brisket shreds on top of it. The Mac had no flavor at all; no cheese taste, no garlic bread crumbs. The brisket was OK but I didn't like the BBQ sauce. I only ate about a third of it and brought the rest home. Unfortunately, it found it's way into the trash. My husband had the burger and fries. I tasted the fries and they were good; crispy on the outside and soft inside. His burger came just as he ordered it, medium rare, and we was quite happy with his meal. My sister had the baby back ribs. She gave me one to try and while the meat was tender and came off the bone easily, neither she or I liked the BBQ sauce. The sauce dies not have any sweetness it and is very heavy with cumin and other spices. After a few bites, our mouths felt the heat. Not what I like to have when eating BBQ. My sister said that the ranch beans didn't make the cut and the Cole slaw was just OK. I will say that the ribs were meaty and tender. They used good quality rib but the sauce ruined them. We had reservations for 12, after getting dropped off, we encounter the manager who informed us to "keep it down as I can see you've had one too many drinks". Guess we can't celebrate/talk before entering. As we entered, we met the owner, waiter, and waitress who sat us down and took our order. Owner politely provided us with 3 ordered of onion rings on the house which was a nice gesture. Things went smoothly until after we paid our $1200 tab. We decided to go to the bar section and order another round of drinks and listen to the live music they offered. But we basically denied service as they wanted us out. We spoke to our waiter who said we can't sell you guys drinks and thats too bad. If I would have know the service was this bad after we paid, I would of left a $40 TIP. Basically, we all had one drink each at the restaurant before we left (kicked out if you asked us). Jackalope is New and Improved!!! I'm so glad is reopened even better this time! I had the carne asada street tacos and I have to admit, they are the best I've had in a long time! No gristle, no toughness, just deliciousness! The chef explained that they only use prime beef in the restaurant! you can surely tell! Tina, the waitress was excellent as was all the staff! Borracho Beans, 1/5 not much flavor to the beans and I expected something a little different. The ones I git was mostly a big chunk of meat and not much beans. I'm a little biS as I was expecting something else but flavor was not their at all, maybe I got an old batch. Yams. 4/5 good consistency not too much added sweetener added so that was good. It let the yam provide majority of sweetness and flavor to shine . BBQ Sauce 5/5 it was nice thick and warm... very syrupy and sweet tangy which I like.. def a plus Ribs.2/5. Well this was a little disappointing, the ribs were not fall off the bone tender but a little overly cooked and dried out. They were were very meaty though, but overcooking had killed some of its meats flavor. Packaging was a little odd they came wrapped in a vacuum sealed plastic that I had to peal off, which seemed odd.
