First time trying Texas Roadhouse while on short vacation as I don't have this in my area. My family and I stopped by on Friday afternoon. Already from outside we could see the place was filled with diners and the entry was crowded. As we entered, we were told to stand by the side to be seated. We were seated within few minutes but getting a server to come to our table to take order took a long time. Eventually, our server came and apologized for the delay. He immediately took our order and brought water and bread. The server replenished the bread as we waited for our food. Eventually food arrived. The server checked in multiple times asking how the food was and if we needed anything further. The server was very nice and courteous. He even spent time joking with my kids. He made up for being late in the beginning. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Only thing missing was the onions and mushroom which were ordered to be put on the side. We never received it, no big deal. The price was affordable and food was filling. The atmosphere reminded me of Phil's BBQ in San Diego. This was our first time at Texas Roadhouse, and we wanted to see what all the hype was about regarding the dinner rolls and the food. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who asked us to wait at marker #3. I felt like I was at Disneyland waiting for a ride! Thankfully, we were seated within five minutes. The ambiance definitely gave off a Texas vibe, with country music playing and sports on the TVs. My husband, my son, and I each ordered the 6 oz. steak, which came with two sides. One steak came with a loaded baked potato and grilled onions, another came with steak fries and grilled onions, and mine came with mashed potatoes with brown gravy and grilled onions. All of our steak dinners were $14.99 during the Early Dine special. We also ordered the grilled pork chop dinner with grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms. At first, we thought the steaks looked small, but they were surprisingly filling. We also ordered the Cactus Blossom with Cajun sauce, and it was a great appetizer. We all ordered our steaks medium-well. Every restaurant cooks steaks a little differently, so the doneness can vary. Mine was a little tougher than I prefer, but the rest of my family really enjoyed theirs. For drinks, the kids had the Red Raspberry Lemonade and the Blue Crush Lemonade. My husband had a Coke, and I had an unsweetened iced tea. We had the best waiter ever! He took excellent care of our family. I believe his name was Cesar at the Indio location. He was friendly, attentive, and made our first visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I really liked Texas Roadhouse, especially for a chain restaurant. If I'm back in town, we will definitely return. We stopped here on our way back from Lake Havasu. Location was nice, fun atmosphere, and good vibes. They give you freshly baked bread with a cinnamon butter, they are insanely delicious! We have never seen an "empty" Texas Roadhouse until we came here for dinner on a Friday night. I was laughing because the hubz could not believe that we got seated immediately. I put our name on the waitlist; but, saw that the wait time indicated 0 to 10 minutes. Of course he didn't believe me because the last time we waited over two hours at their Union City location. Technically, we waited for an hour and went somewhere else and at 11pm still showed no availability. Their service was great here. My husband raved that his beef tips was one of the best that he has had at Texas Roadhouse. The male server that took over our table the last 30 minutes was very nice. Whenever I find myself out in Palm Desert, I always visit Texas Roadhouse. Our server, Adrian, was very attentive and friendly. I ordered my usual, the American Cheeseburger with only cheese and lettuce. I ordered it medium rare and only ate half of it because towards the middle, it tasted super salty. It literally tasted like someone put a pile of salt on top of the meat. I also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which was delicious. I could never go wrong with that. Wednesday, April 15, 2026: We stopped here for a nice dinner before heading to Marvyn's Magic Theater. It's a very rustic, log cabin vibe as you enter. It's spacious & clean. There wasn't a wait & we were immediately seated in a booth. They have an extensive menu. It's nice to see they have early bird specials for only $14.99. Hubby ordered a steak with 2 sides and I had the marinated chicken breast with 2 sides. We had a very friendly & hard working server, Miguel, who checked on us often. I was able to take a photo of this shy young man & get his permission to post here. The food was so good & filling! We will definitely be back & be sure to ask for Miguel again. The atmosphere was lively & happy. The staff were genuinely hospitable and happy! It was a such fantastic vibe. So a few years back on grand opening week, I was very excited to finally come here and eat! However... our experience was not the best. The food took forever to come out, they ran out of bone in Ribeye, and some of the steaks that we ordered (medium rare) were still cold in the center. So all types of bad. Which made me very hesitant to ever come back, but that goes without saying, " Why would you want to go opening week, where things like this COULD happen" BUT the second time around, which was today, things definitely took a turn for the best. The rolls are still amazing especially with the cinnamon butter. I ordered the 16oz Sirloin with sweet potato and side salad. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare all throughout with a nice crust. I must say that it was lacking a little salt, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, I could've just added salt myself if I wanted to. I always forget to show a cross section of the steak, but not this time! The plating may seem a little off as the steak is all by itself but it didn't bother me at all. Overall, the first experience with Texas Roadhouse was awful, but the second time more than made up for it and I will be gladly returning here! read more

You can't beat the price for a steak here, especially before 5pm. I love their 6oz sirloin with two sides! Steak is always tender and flavorful. After breaking down in the middle of the California desert and getting towed to Indio, I was beaten down and in need of some late night food, luckily Texas Roadhouse was open to fill me up. I've always been quite the big Texas Roadhouse fan thanks to the dinner rolls and fun atmosphere, luckily sitting alone at the bar still got me a basket of rolls to devour so this experience started out with the best of flavour. For dinner I ended up trying the road kill plate which was cut up steak with veggies served with french fries and mashed potatoes and gravy. This was my first time ordering this dish and it is absolutely something I would order again in the future. The steak tasted really good as did the mashed potatoes, gravy, and french fries. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this joint is going toe to toe with a top of the line steakhouse, but sometimes these family steakhouse places are exactly what you need. Overall, Texas Roadhouse did me right and fed me when most of the other restaurants in the area were closed or fast food. The rolls were and always will be the best part of this place, but I had a good meal and the staff was wonderful, so thumbs up to this Indio location. read more

I ordered an Iced tea unsweetened, prime rib 14 ounce, medium rare, Baked potato and a salad with blue cheese. More on the food in a minute. Funny thing happened, after I ordered, went to the restroom, took a wrong turn and walked to the front, then they told me the restroom was in the other corner. Came back and everything was cleared from my table, my iced tea was gone, bread and butter gone, silverware and napkin all gone. Apparently, they thought I took off after I ordered, kind of weird, but no big deal. Brought out new everything and GTG. The iced teas was brewed perfectly, bread was great and the cinnamon butter made it taste like I was eating a cinnamon roll, yum! The salad was next, again very good although very small, which was surprising, blue cheese was on point. Those were the highlights. Then came my main course, the prime rib seemed almost uncooked, I did order medium rare, so maybe my fault, but it was too raw for my tastes. Flavor was good though with the raw horseradish, but did have a different flavor than other prime rib I have had, can't put my finger on it, just not as good. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream, no chives, no green onions, which should not be a thing, should always have those, just makes it that much better. I added some purple onions as a substitute. Potato again with the prime rib, was just ok, even with the butter and sour cream and pepper/onions. I hate to leave 3 stars, but have to be honest with my experience and hoped for so much more. Prices were decent for a steak house, but would have paid a little more for a more enjoyable dinner. I got the 12oz NY strip, medium rare. They actually cooked it right. Many times they over or undercook it. But this place got it right. The staff were really patient with us as we were a larger group. It was unfortunate that they had to split up our party to seat us. Definitely got crowded the closer to 6 you got. The main problem with this place is all the birthdays and crazy loud singing. It may be fun for the birthday people but for everyone else it's rather annoying as you have to stop your own conversation until it's over. read more

I had a scanned in free appetizer on our bill and turns out when I received the emailed receipt, I was charged for it instead.. some of us received our sides and some had to ask for ours when it became obvious we weren't going to receive it otherwise. I was very disappointed with my experience at Texas Roadhouse. From the beginning, the service was poor and several issues occurred throughout our visit. Our meals came out extremely salty, making the meat difficult to enjoy. During service, our waitress repeatedly spilled water while refilling our drinks, including spilling a significant amount from the pitcher onto the floor. The spill was not handled promptly, which created a potential safety hazard for both customers and staff. The most frustrating part of the experience happened when we paid our bill. After we paid with cash, the waitress informed us that she did not have enough change and kept the remaining amount instead of returning it. We were never asked if we wanted to leave that amount as a tip, and customers should never be put in that position. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the combination of poor service, overly salty food, safety concerns, and the issue with our change left us with a negative impression. I hope management addresses these concerns so future guests have a much better experience. read more

I live in Austin, Texas, so I stopped by to try this place and compare it. I really liked the atmosphere--it was lively and there were a lot of people. There was a nice, upbeat vibe throughout my meal, and I was happy with the service as well. The only downside for me was the steak. I chose grilled onions, and they were served on top of the steak. I personally prefer eating steak plain or with just a bit of salt, so the grilled onion topping felt a bit overpowering. That said, it was my mistake since I didn't realize how it would be served. The Chicken Fried Sirloin was tough and should have been pounded into a thin steak and it would have been better. It was replaced by Shi and the manager with the Fried Catfish, which was quite tasty. It is a very busy location with acoustics that control the noise level well. Peanuts in the shell are still served, which was always a nice touch. We had a chance to try the Texas Roadhouse in Indio on a Saturday night. I used the Yelp App to join the waiting list, which worked out very well. Although it was busy, we only waited inside for about ten minutes. The interior was clean, organized, and had a fun vibe.
