I live in Austin, Texas, so I stopped by to try this place and compare it. I really liked the atmosphere--it was lively and there were a lot of people. There was a nice, upbeat vibe throughout my meal, and I was happy with the service as well. The only downside for me was the steak. I chose grilled onions, and they were served on top of the steak. I personally prefer eating steak plain or with just a bit of salt, so the grilled onion topping felt a bit overpowering. That said, it was my mistake since I didn't realize how it would be served. Aside from that, compared to Austin, the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was great, and I would definitely come back. read more

Wednesday, April 15, 2026: We stopped here for a nice dinner before heading to Marvyn's Magic Theater. It's a very rustic, log cabin vibe as you enter. It's spacious & clean. There wasn't a wait & we were immediately seated in a booth. They have an extensive menu. It's nice to see they have early bird specials for only $14.99. Hubby ordered a steak with 2 sides and I had the marinated chicken breast with 2 sides. We had a very friendly & hard working server, Miguel, who checked on us often. I was able to take a photo of this shy young man & get his permission to post here. The food was so good & filling! We will definitely be back & be sure to ask for Miguel again. The atmosphere was lively & happy. The staff were genuinely hospitable and happy! It was a such fantastic vibe. We were able to speak with the very affable District Manager, Tony, and made sure we gave Miguel props. He told us they were building a Texas Roadhouse in Temecula! Yay! After breaking down in the middle of the California desert and getting towed to Indio, I was beaten down and in need of some late night food, luckily Texas Roadhouse was open to fill me up. I've always been quite the big Texas Roadhouse fan thanks to the dinner rolls and fun atmosphere, luckily sitting alone at the bar still got me a basket of rolls to devour so this experience started out with the best of flavour. For dinner I ended up trying the road kill plate which was cut up steak with veggies served with french fries and mashed potatoes and gravy. This was my first time ordering this dish and it is absolutely something I would order again in the future. The steak tasted really good as did the mashed potatoes, gravy, and french fries. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this joint is going toe to toe with a top of the line steakhouse, but sometimes these family steakhouse places are exactly what you need. Overall, Texas Roadhouse did me right and fed me when most of the other restaurants in the area were closed or fast food. The rolls were and always will be the best part of this place, but I had a good meal and the staff was wonderful, so thumbs up to this Indio location. read more

So a few years back on grand opening week, I was very excited to finally come here and eat! However... our experience was not the best. The food took forever to come out, they ran out of bone in Ribeye, and some of the steaks that we ordered (medium rare) were still cold in the center. So all types of bad. Which made me very hesitant to ever come back, but that goes without saying, " Why would you want to go opening week, where things like this COULD happen" BUT the second time around, which was today, things definitely took a turn for the best. The rolls are still amazing especially with the cinnamon butter. I ordered the 16oz Sirloin with sweet potato and side salad. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare all throughout with a nice crust. I must say that it was lacking a little salt, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, I could've just added salt myself if I wanted to. I always forget to show a cross section of the steak, but not this time! The plating may seem a little off as the steak is all by itself but it didn't bother me at all. First time to a Texas Roadhouse and I really wanted it to be 5 stars. Had built it up in my mind as being a great spot. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars, partly I am sure from what I ordered and partly for the food, which was good, but just good. Was seated and my waiter came right away with bread and a cinnamon butter and to take my order, nice guy. I ordered an Iced tea unsweetened, prime rib 14 ounce, medium rare, Baked potato and a salad with blue cheese. More on the food in a minute. Funny thing happened, after I ordered, went to the restroom, took a wrong turn and walked to the front, then they told me the restroom was in the other corner. Came back and everything was cleared from my table, my iced tea was gone, bread and butter gone, silverware and napkin all gone. Apparently, they thought I took off after I ordered, kind of weird, but no big deal. Brought out new everything and GTG. The iced teas was brewed perfectly, bread was great and the cinnamon butter made it taste like I was eating a cinnamon roll, yum! The salad was next, again very good although very small, which was surprising, blue cheese was on point. Those were the highlights. Then came my main course, the prime rib seemed almost uncooked, I did order medium rare, so maybe my fault, but it was too raw for my tastes. Flavor was good though with the raw horseradish, but did have a different flavor than other prime rib I have had, can't put my finger on it, just not as good. The baked potato came with butter and sour cream, no chives, no green onions, which should not be a thing, should always have those, just makes it that much better. I added some purple onions as a substitute. Potato again with the prime rib, was just ok, even with the butter and sour cream and pepper/onions. I hate to leave 3 stars, but have to be honest with my experience and hoped for so much more. Prices were decent for a steak house, but would have paid a little more for a more enjoyable dinner. As we walked in, luckily no one was waiting. We were seated quickly. I had a great experience. First time being in a Texas Roadhouse. Free peanuts in shell provided at every table. I can't remember our waitress name but she was amazing. She was attentive, clarified how we wanted the meat to be cooked, and made sure we were always taken care of. The steaks were cooked perfectly, just as ordered. We had freshly baked rolls with a honey cinnamon butter. The rewards for this place is a bit confusing in getting points added to your account. Plenty of parking available even though there is a gym nearby. Huge parking lot. I really like the windows for pickup only. Reminds me of somewhat a drive thru but not a drive thru. The Chicken Fried Sirloin was tough and should have been pounded into a thin steak and it would have been better. It was replaced by Shi and the manager with the Fried Catfish, which was quite tasty. My meal of a full rack of spareribs was so completely fantastic that I almost didn't notice that they left out my sweet potato. Our server, Cobo, was very soft-spoken and difficult to hear, which already made the experience frustrating. When we brought up the earring, the response lacked any real concern or compassion, and no manager ever came over to speak with us about it. After Cobo dropped off the check, he disappeared for about 10 minutes. They didn't fully comp the drink. It was $9.75 and they only comped $9. We had to ask another server to help us correct the bill. Yes, 75 cents isn't a big deal, but the issue wasn't the money it was the lack of accountability and care after something that serious. Although it was busy, we only waited inside for about ten minutes. The interior was clean, organized, and had a fun vibe. We were greeted by a host who directed us to our table with delicious bread rolls in hand. Later, our main server, ARILISE, was fantastic. She was very familiar with the menu and made suggestions. Burger was greasy, my steak was supposed to be med/rare...it was well. Ribs were tough/ subpar... Then he starts pulling pieces off the steaks to eat them. Not once but twice. We at this point decide we're not going to eat here but stand around to see what else he does. He grabs a pole with some kind of scrubber on one end and cleans the grill where the steaks are cooked, ok cool, he's cleaning. The he puts said cleaning stick on the floor!!!! Come on! Restaurants get shut down for employees eating on the line, not being sanitary and putting shit on the floor. Any one of these things would have been game over. Don't eat here. The drinks took LONG to come. And then she says, I'll come back with straws. I swear 5-10 minutes for straws. Then I asked her, can I have more butter for my bread when she comes back and she goes yeah I'll be right back. But we flagged her down to take our kids orders first since she's already taking so long. Great- kids orders is in, but she never comes back to take our orders. And we still haven't received the butter for the bread lol. But at least our apps came. The kids food comes out maybe 15-20 minutes later. Kids are eating. Great-we flagged another worker to get our server to take our orders. She comes and take it. Awesome. Asked for butter again. Got it from someone else, thanks. Food came out in a timely manner. One of us never got our soup that came with our meal. And the server never checked up on us once so we couldn't tell her to bring the chili soup. We started off with the rolls served fresh with a side of butter, the hype doesn't disappoint we asked for onion rings however they didn't have some, but our server Gio suggested we get the cactus blossom, and we went for it. It was so yummy it came with a side of a type of ranch but like seasoned. Anyways we all approved of that. Three of us got burgers with steak fries and they were delicious I subbed my regular onions for grilled and it was a good choice. My husband got something different from the usual which is something I would recommend as it's not a typical dish you can find anywhere. It was the pulled pork with bbq on the side, corn, and mashed potatoes (star of the show by the way) again not your typical dish! We had a great server (Gio) which just made the experience so much better, he has conversations with us throughout and even asked if we were celebrating which indeed we were , 3 bdays. Adding on to that the owner approached us as well and asked how our experience was and it made us feel welcomed as well as the manager Richard. This is our first time at anyTexas Roadhouse because we are from LA area and they don't have any there to my knowledge. This is a new one in Indio Ca. The service and ambiance is 5 star! It's the outback mixed with Disneyland inside. Three people came to welcome us with peanuts and gifts for future visits including a manager! Pretty amazing. In my opinion the chili was 5 star with no beans, my favorite way. We also enjoyed the bread ,sweet potato, and mushroom side. Overall 4.3 stars from me. The only minuses were the bbq sauce on my ribs lacked flavor but the ribs were good quality and cooked perfectly. The steak was ok but what do you want for $13.99 happy hour special. The only drink they have for happy hour is a Long Island iced tea for $5. I would skip that because it wasn't great. It was packed when we left at 5 o'clock on a Thursday night.
