I'll be honest, I don't like to give horrible reviews. But I just couldn't squeeze out a 2nd star for this restaurant located by the pool in the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa. The service was bad, the food took forever, and when it arrived, I wouldn't even call it tasty. The restaurant was less than half full, yet our food for a party of 2 took about 1 hr 15 minutes to be served. During that time, we didn't get one drink refill offered to us. When the food came, my $50 NY Steak was a gristly mess. I ate about half of it and just left the rest. A pricey restaurant like this has a few shots at being good. Service Wait Time Food quality Unfortunately, CAVA didn't meet my expectations on any of these.

This restaurant has a big pool side patio. Service is nice and friendly. Their burgers are good and always a solid choice. The chicken sandwich needs a napkin on the bottom to avoid soggy bread. Some burgers were over cooked but overall it was good. Their salads were tasty especially when you add protein like shrimp.

Excellent place for family dinner after a day at the pool. The service, cleanliness and staff are excellent. The menu is very simple and has lots of options for everyone. The staff is very friendly with everyone as you walk in. We will definitely return .

My family and I came here for a weekend staycation and decided to dine here for breakfast and we were happy with our choice! I did see some reviews online about a breakfast buffet but it didn't state anywhere on their website about it. When we arrived they told us about the buffet and it was $33 per person and my son (age 2) ate for free. My husband and I both opted for that and we enjoyed the omelette bar made fresh to order and the juice bar where you can make yourself a fresh pressed juice! There were other options like pancakes, waffles, even smoked salmon with bagels, & the standard hot breakfast items. All the waitresses were so nice! They even walked around handing out fresh smoothies. Overall enjoyed our experience here and would dine again next time we come!

Burger was good. Fries were pretty oily for being sweet potato fries. Also saw another order and my fries were def have of the serving as well. Server was nice but service was a bit slow.

Spoiler Alert: This'll sound like fangirling, but its 99% about the staff - so that's how this review will go... Ashly & Ruby are so guest oriented & driven, I fear they don't know about the amazing & beautiful impact they have upon human, ultimately. These teammates have greeted myself & my partner with grace, warmth & a genuine i interest in how we're enjoying our holiday. Ruby will make anything happen for my girl & Ashly covers my deceit/surprises like a true wingman - and hey, that's all I need, frankly?, amiright? These guys + the whole mischpucha absolutely form a constellation of twinkling & shining stars, making this lil' Jewess's Christmas extra special, bright, magical & oh-so-delish! ps: um... DO YOU EVEN OMELETTE?! ...I'm moving in.

I did not expect the food to be as good as they tasted (Sorry! I hope this doesn't offend the restaurant). As there are not many competitors in the area, I just assumed less. Families - You should try Cava especially if you are staying at the hotel. All $10 with side of fries and a drink. The serving size is same as regular size. I will be back on my next trip to Dessert.

The AC at our first table was blasting cold air right on us and the staff moved us right away with no issue at all. They were also incredibly kind to my youngest whose birthday we were celebrating. It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. Palm Desert retail is below while Palm Springs is right next door. Both have access to restaurants and retail. This location has a decent size dining room and a pretty big covered patio that wraps around. At first we thought that we would have to check in with the hostess for a seat at the bar but found out that we didn't as someone else just walked right up. It was the start of happy hour which was the reason for the visit. Just wanted a drink and maybe a light bite. There was 2 seats that were available at the bar which was perfect timing as when we got seated, a few other people walked in but ended up just ordering drinks while waiting for a seat to open up. Happy hours from 3-5 which I feel like loads of people come for it. They offer a couple dollars off of starters, wine and beer. For small bites, 5.00 sliders and 6.00 fish tacos. Limited but a little discount on the starters. We had a glass of wine which was 4.00 off with the HH. Of course with that, something to munch on was needed. Clearly they're known for the coconut shrimp starters which we were informed by the bartender. And from the looks of it, pretty much everyone sitting there had an order. Which was a given for us to get. It came with five shrimp, decent size with a nice glaze sauce and adorned with coleslaw which was quite tasty. Definitely worth it. And the sliders, one each. Wow, I'm not much of a burger person but they were tasty. Cooked perfectly, the meat was juicy and served pretty simple with grilled onions, sauce, a slice of cheese and a slice of pickle on top of the bun. Simple yet very tasty and flavorful. The service was great at the bar. Gentlemen taking care of use was sweet and quite friendly. Seemed like it's a local and regular hangout as he seemed to know everyone sitting there. The wine was tasty and the bites were great. Coconut shrimp was a hit as well as the sliders which I do recommend. Even on a Monday right at 3, the bar area was pretty packed already. People know when to come for HH.

Today's lunch with family and friends was especially frustrating, and everyone left unhappy. The kids' sliders were burnt on both ends, and the chicken was overcooked and even contained a long hair. We were served appetizers without any plates and had to get up and ask for them ourselves. We also ordered three appetizers, but only two arrived. When we asked about the missing appetizer, we were told it would come out later because the other family in our party had ordered it. That explanation made no sense. Appetizers should be served together regardless of which members of the party ordered them. To make matters worse, when we requested separate checks, we were told the restaurant could not accommodate that request. We have dined here many times in the past and have never had an issue receiving separate checks, so this was surprising and frustrating. The waiter just gave us the option to split the check evenly on two cards which is not helpful since one family spent far less than the other. Apparently the food could be separated by family, but the bill could not. Service throughout the meal was poor. We were never offered additional cocktails or soft drink refills until we had already finished eating. Dirty plates sat on the table for an extended period of time, attracting multiple flies and creating an unpleasant dining experience. It's disappointing because this restaurant was once one of our favorites, but after two consecutive poor experiences, we're finding it difficult to justify returning.

Instead, she bit into a sharp chicken bone hidden in the salad--something that absolutely should never happen. This wasn't a small, soft fragment either; it was sharp enough to cause immediate, severe pain and pierced her gums. This is not just a minor oversight--it's a major failure in basic food safety and kitchen preparation. There is no excuse for serving food in this condition, especially something as simple as a salad. We trusted this restaurant to provide a safe meal, and that trust was completely broken. What makes this even worse is that the situation could have been far more dangerous. If swallowed, this could have led to choking or internal injury. No customer should ever have to worry about that when ordering a salad. I strongly urge the restaurant to take a hard look at their food prep standards and quality control, because this is unacceptable. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

The Tomato Basil Bruschetta was, without doubt, the best one I've ever had. We loved the Chicken Curry and French Dip sandwiches. The wine list was concise, but well selected. Unlike so many other parts of trips out here - the oppressive heat, dodging careening buggies driven by seemingly lost and possibly inebriated golfers, and the discovery of sand in eyes / nose / shoes / liver - it's a tradition that sits very well with me. I'd even go as far as saying that the food here makes all of the above worthwhile. The restaurant has a car park to the rear and limited street parking in front. The interior has a lovely ambiance, quietly refined by subtle lighting and a gentle arboreal theme. I've seen it busy and our party has also had the place to ourselves on late visits, but I'd definitely recommend a reservation just in case especially with a larger party. The staff provide attentive and genuinely caring service, and the portion sizes are substantial and easily justify the more-than-reasonable cost. The food itself though is the reason this place is always a highlight reel spot for me. Every dish is a feast for the eyes as well as the palette, beautifully presented and packed with flavor. My personal go-to is the perfectly seasoned and healthy Harvest Salad, usually with an added protein (the blackened chicken adds a real flavor kick and the variety in texture that I love in great food). Fortunately my partner happily defaults to the opulent and delightful Lobster Lasagna, as I'd be loath to miss out on a bite or three of that too. Appetizer-wise, I'm yet to regret any soup-of-the-day choice. The Zucchini last night was... well... yep, perfect is no overstatement. Sweet Basil is an absolute gem, and a must-visit for any visitor here. The only even remotely negative things I can think to mention is to be aware of the rather early closing time for at least part of the year.
