Eating breakfast here multiple days this week as we are at the Resort and Spa. Atmosphere is good - clean, crisp and freshly updated. From the cores coffee mugs to the layout, setting and view out the windows and on the patio seating make for a cheerful relaxing vibe. Pricing is a little steep, but not out of the norm for a place such as this. Omelets are good - although I prefer mine to be thinner eggs vs thick and fluffy which these are. Flavors very good. Potatoes excellent. Sized and made to perfection. Could eat them all day. They offer gluten free total which is also a plus for us. Ordered the Cinnamon Apple French Toast today. It came topped with drizzles honey, bacon pieces and mint leafs. In addition they brought me maple syrup pour on it. Very tasty and flavorful...but very sweet also. Too sweet for me to finish. read more

This is the only restaurant open in the hotel. It is not well staffed- after eating there three times, I realized that they only had three or four people working. That meant I had to search for the hostess - sometimes waiting for five minutes for them to appear. The tortilla chips were good and appeared to be house made - but they were the only stand out. If you are staying at the hotel and have to eat there- it's ok. Otherwise go somewhere else with good food and service. read more

After a long day in the pool, we chose this restaurant for my friend's birthday dinner. Extremely slow service and undertrained staff!!! Our food took over an 1.5 hours to be served. The waiters rarely came around to fill our drinks or give us an update on our meals. We did have a party of 15; however, we were literally the only customers in the restaurant. The food was mediocre and overpriced!!! This was very a disappointing experience. As we walked out of the restaurant, there weren't any staff/management to talk to about our experience. They all disappeared or hid! Lol read more

Nice dinner buffet.... Our server was not always available... We asked for coffee to have with dessert, you could tell it had been warmed up in a microwave and it had been made hours ago and it was extremely strong ( and I like my coffee strong but this was too much ) I did like the buffet options though read more

Nasty food!!! Service was slow and same with food. Don't buy anything with MEAT. (The cooks can't cook!!!!) Almost all tables were empty with no people. The only thing that was good was the salad. read more

I would recommend Cavas breakfast buffet to anyone, all day. ;) Definitely pricey, but awesome food, lots of it, and great service!

Delicious breakfast options at Cava. We have stayed at the Renaissance many time and usually get the buffet. Due to Covid, the buffet is not fully and running. So they didn't have the juice bar that we enjoyed. The al carte options are great. Breakfast for 2 for less than $40! read more

Probably the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life and the food was disgusting, too. Complete waste of time and money.

Cava was great!! We did the breakfast buffet. Sitting outside with the view of the pool and mountain as the backdrop is amazing. The food was great! If you're staying here this just makes sense. They also do late night food and can deliver it to your room. Even better!!! read more

We had very high hopes for this place, but the food took forever. When it came, it was mediocre at best. I had the best salad with salmon added. The salmon was dry. My husband got the special. It was actually a different fish than first described, and it was also overcooked. Will try to avoid this place for the remainder of the vacation... read more

Was pleasantly surprised by the fresh and tasty breakfast at this hotel restaurant. Service was also impeccable with little wait for anything and prompt table service. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. And outdoor views of the mountains and pool were a bonus. My avocado toast was so delish with tasty fresh cherry tomatoes, my husband enjoyed the huevos rancheros, and my boys cleaned up their kids' waffle plates which they rarely do! Highly recommend! read more

We were staying next door at the Hyatt Regency and sort of just stumbled upon Cava while taking a walk over to the Renaissance. It was 7pm and the restaurant was empty, but we were starving and they had a Saturday night Prime Rib buffet with a risotto bar. Why not, right? I have to say, I was actually impressed. It was an exceptional value for the money and the service was good. We sat outside with a beautiful view on the pool. It honestly beat all of our options over at the Hyatt. As for the buffet, it was $29 for adults and $14 for kids. They offered not only prime rib, but several different salads, a cheese bar, roasted chicken (really good), mahi-mahi mahi-mahi, a variety of sausages, herb roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, and risotto & pasta stations. There was a non-impressive array of mini-treats, as well, but the chocolate fountain was certainly the star of that dessert station. read more

I ate a lot of food from Cava during my three days at Renaissance Indian Wells. They were pretty much the only restaurant at the hotel that ever seemed to be open, they supplied the room service, and I'm 99% sure they even made the sandwiches that ended up at the hotel's cafe. As I said in my main review of the hotel, Cava really seemed to be running the ship here. That's fine, though, because literally everything I tried from them was delicious. Over the course of three days I had their blue cheese burger, their classic club, their Cajun fries, their sweet potato fries, their regular fries... not to mention the ham and cheese sandwich on potato bread from the cafe that I highly suspect was made by them since it was the same exact style and quality. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Plus, the portions are huge. I can't think of anything to complain about. read more

Located in the Renaissance Resort, it is one of the options for dining on the property. They offer breakfast. lunch and dinner so we knew we would make a stop at some point. We awoke to hungry stomachs. So we tried the breakfast buffet. They have the normal fruits, breads, pastries and breakfast fare. The little egg white frittatas with spinach and mushrooms tasted good. I was also a fan of their bacon. Thick with a smokey flavor. It was a little disappointment with the dry pastries and ok fruit. It seemed as though the pastries were not fresh just like the fruit. A much needed improvement is needed in that area. A bonus point goes to their juicer station. There is a table full of fruits and veggies to make your own pressed juice. If you own a juicer you know the pain is cleaning it out afterwards. It's nice to leave that to someone else when you're on vacation. The service was polite and accommodating. Again we didn't have any service problems in the entire resort. CAVA was ok but I wouldn't rush back here for breakfast. read more

Where do I start? I cant day enough about this place for breakfast or dinner. We did not eat lunch there. Yesterday we had breakfast and dinner at this location. The breakfast is buffet style (or you can order off the menu). My super picky daughter demolished some fresh fruit and pancakes. My son had his fill of bacon, eggs and whipped cream lol. My husband had an omelette (completely customizable with the chef behind the counter) potatoes and sausage. I had a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, fruit, juice from the juicer you make yourself (omg so good), a mini muffin and also fruit. Victor... what can I say? He turned our whole trip around. We had a rough day service wise at the resort the day before. Then came Victor. He's a gem. He was so kind, checked on us multiple times, told US not to hesitate to tell HIM if we need anything (very reassuring), he joked with our kids and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I wish I would have gotten pictures but I was too busy being with my family. Thanks Victor! Now on to DINNER! Oh. My. God. My tummy and my mouth were delighted. It's Tapas style. We got the mushroom curry (comes with nan type bread.. holy crap! Delicious! Tiny bit spicy (I'm a sissy lol), scallops (DROOL), something fancy sounding that was basically shredded beef with mass cakes (YUUMMMM!) and Brussels sprout salad... I HATE BRUSSELS SPROUTS and so does my husband, but the server said they were good, and he was RIGHT! We demolished it. Soooo tasty!! They also gave us a complimentary glass of champagne which was also, you guessed it, delicious! Thank you Cava, staff, and the Renaissance resort! read more

We had a phenomenal experience at CAVA with our family! We went to CAVA to celebrate my son's birthday during our trip to the Palm Springs area. It's difficult for my family to go to restaurants due to my husband's severe wheat allergy. Well the staff at CAVA went above and beyond to accommodate my husband's diet. The chef came out to personally speak with my husband to review each wheat free item on the menu, and even offered to start up a separate grill to cook almost anything on the menu without wheat contamination. In the end my husband worked with the chef to create a dish that was wheat free and included my husband's favorite food. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic...I could not get enough of my salmon and my husband's steak was prepared perfectly. Because it was my son's birthday, the staff came out with three complimentary desserts! My son was a happy boy that night! Thank you to the staff at CAVA for this incredible experience. read more

I think the food tastes great overall. I tried the buffet breakfast the bacon and waffles was my favorite. I like that they give you a coffee carafe with creamer in a serving cup. When we were seated the table did not have coffee cups. They left the coffee carafes from the people there before us. So you could tell the carafes were used. We waited a while before our server came. We helped ourselves to the buffet and figured out how the buffet process worked on our own. It has a nice dining decor overlooking the pool. We sat inside but you can sit outside too. The chairs are comfortable and inside is very spacious. read more

I ordered a filet mignon and it was excellent. Props to the chef. I came here with 10 people and they accommodated us. My friends ordered salmon and bass they also enjoyed it. It was fresh squeezed I had at least 5 cups amazing for the morning energy. read more

I came here for breakfast with the family while staying at the resort. My husband had the breakfast buffet and I had the huevos rancheros benedict. One reason for getting the buffet was for the pancakes and waffles. When my husband brought his plate back to the table they were very small (kid size) and tasted like they were previously frozen. Despite that disappointment everything else from the buffet tasted ok. My huevos rancheros benedict on the other hand was fantastic. It was basically beans and salsa on a sope with the poached egg on top with hollandaise sauce. It's a little different but tasted great. We also had room service from this restaurant several times during our stay with varying results. I overall give this spot 3 stars. If we stay here again we'll probably come back for the huevos. read more

-1 for the rude service we received on our last visit. Over pretentious. For the price you pay I expected more.

was not impressed by the service at all. upon walking in, there were 3 hostess all talking. i ordered takeout and it was taking awhile. after a good amount of time had passed, i asked if my food was almost ready and one of the girls was standing there picking at her teeth with her nails and another girl rolled her eyes at me after i asked where my food was. so rude and unprofessional. read more

Been here for breakfast and for lunch, and both times they did not disappoint. Since I was staying at the hotel for a conference, Cava was the most convenient place to grab a meal. Luckily for us, the food was great. While we did do the breakfast buffet, they do have it available. Our waiter (Juan I believe) was awesome, friendly and very attentive. Sit in his section as he took care of us every time we ate. I had a great breakfast sandwich with eggs and bacon. Kind of hard to mess up, but it sure was tasty. They provide plenty of bacon too. For lunch I had the same meal twice, since it was so good. I had the chipotle jalapeno chicken sandwich (subbed the standard hamburger patty with chicken), and the sweet potato fries. Sandwich was delicious, definitely try this out if you are looking for a chicken plate. Sweet potatoes fries are on the softer side, but very tasty. On the pricey side, as $12-18 lunch plates are the norm. Lunch will be $20-25 a person after drink/tax/tip are factored in, and add another $10-15 for dinner plates. Prices are definitely higher at Cava, but at least you know it will be good. read more

Uh oh! Don't go here during a convention. Service is marginal Neal when banquets happen!!!

Two of us went to CAVA for lunch at the nearby Renaissance Marriott. The meal started off relatively well: we were seated promptly (the fact the restaurant was virtually empty at the height of lunchtime was probably not a promising sign, though the server said we had "just missed the rush") and the interior was open, bright, and nicely appointed. The server taking our order was prompt. However, the food was disappointing. We ordered a Caesar chicken wrap and a Cobb salad wrap. The wraps were mostly lettuce and croutons (for the Caesar wrap) and we let our server know. I credit the server with taking the wraps back and asking the kitchen to redo them. Unfortunately, the redone order was still poor quality, with more chicken but very, very dry. The Caesar wrap had almost no Parmesan cheese and no dressing, making it even drier. The Cobb salad wrap used the same desiccated chicken, and contained so little cheese, avocado, and apple that I had to hunt to find a couple, very, very small pieces of each. The side of coleslaw was fine though a small portion, and the side of fruit uninspired--mostly honeydew, tasteless watermelon, and a few small pieces of cantaloupe and pineapple (none of it very fresh). The server didn't ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks or anything else (a note the restaurant was still nearly empty, so not a lot of competition for the crew's attention, and the server returned only to--pretty insistently--confirm the wraps were "good now, right?" (they weren't, but we had given up by them and already looking up places for dinner) and to check multiple times in a short span to collect the bill. The spot overall is fine for grabbing an afternoon iced tea, but I definitely would avoid it for lunch. read more

After seeing Cava's beautiful outdoor dining, we knew we had to make an appearance. Cava is the perfect spot for poolside lunch, we don't make the rules here. If chips and salsa are on the menu, it's getting ordered twice. If you're not ordering a side of sweet potato fries, then get with the program. My money said bye bye bye as the turkey club said hi hi hi. It was life changing. We'll be back for more. read more

Phenomenal!! Staff was outstanding, especially Oscar & Nelly. The Chef, Daniel Becking, came out of the kitchen to answer several questions we had on 2 or 3 dinners. He's passionate about his work and truly deserves the pride he has in quality & presentation. Oddly enough (for a high-end resort), he especially loves to serve his favorite dish, BBQ Baby-Back ribs. We were very glad we respected his enthusiasm, best ever. To top it off, Daniel and Nelly prepared a special dessert based on his flourless chocolate cake and smores to surprise us for our 40th anniversary. A great night thanks to these good folks!! read more

CAVA - How very Sweet!! - New American Near Me - Indian Wells, California

I don't get this place. FIrst, its on a beautiful property of the Renaissance Esmerelda, and the outdoor patio is a great place to sit and eat. The food was neither here nor there, but for us, the real reason this place gets 1 star is the service. There is none. We went to this place for breakfast two days in a row and got the same experience both days. We would sit for 15 to 20 minutes before anyone would come around and give us silverware and ask us what we wanted to drink and give us water. Since we ate the breakfast buffet, we would be sitting at our table with a full plate of food but no silverware to eat it with. The second day, we finally got sick of waiting so we went to the busing station at got our own silverware. The servers never came around during the meal to check up on us or ask if we needed anything. We would see them once at the end to drop off the check. Nobody was particularly kind or ever said thank you. It was just such a weird experience at an otherwise really nice hotel. Its like this restaurant is run by a completely different company on Marriott property. I will not go back to this place. read more

NOTE: This was for BREAKFAST only... An excerpt from my personal Food & Travel blog: CAVA RESTAURANT: A waiter is slow to arrive since we are the only ones seated inside. Everything is going well after placing our order. Bella's CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST BUFFET is healthy and tasty according to her. The LEMON RICOTTA PANCAKES are good but not great. I told myself years ago that there isn't any compelling reason to order pancakes after the age of thirty. These carb heavy gut bombs do you dirty and are a complete overkill based on your daily caloric needs. Regardless, once in a blue moon there is a flavor offered that I will consider even though I wish it were a thin crispy waffle instead. That is no exception today. Ricotta is very good when chilled but once heated it dissolves into a whipped cream like nothingness and is forgotten just as easily. The thick SAUSAGE PATTIES have nice herb flavor inside and while not served hot are quite good. Their COFFEE tastes fresh and good and doesn't taste like a low grade company's java. read more

OK this place is a bit pricey but it is in a hotel with a beautiful view of the resort/pool so it's not surprisingly priced. Breakfast runs 50-60 bucks with coffee. They offer pressed fruit and vegetable juices made onsite. They have a buffet for 27 dollars with the classic breakfast options. My favorite is on the menu it's basically eggs Benedict Mexican style!
