Myself and 2 friends dined at the Palm Desert location last night. I want to give a shoutout to our server Kohl (sp?). He gave us "just the right amount" of Ruths Chris standards (without the overkill). He knew his assignment...He read our table and didn't intrude on our dining experience, while still giving the appropriate amount of service that one would expect from a high end steakhouse. One other thing to note; Kohl was personable, not robotic and simply an "order taker" like some servers that one will encounter in high-end restaurants. Sidebar~ There was no music playing in the Dining Room. I had never been to a Ruth's Chris before so this was my first time! Kohl took care of us, he was great. We had a few appetizers. The crabcakes were okay, it comes with two. Not life changing but okay. We also got the ahi tuna appetizer which was also just okay. For my main, I got the 16 oz ribeye steak. It comes on a super hot plate. It was delicious! Only had to wait 5 minutes on a holiday Sunday. We started our meal with the winter special scallops which were delicious and buttery. Then we ate a 6oz filet that they split for us (medium rare actually came out medium rare!! So nice!!) Our server Amber was so hospitable! We had a delicious dinner last night at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Service and food are top notch. Easy self parking or complimentary valet if you prefer. It's a beautiful restaurant with a quiet to moderate noise level. Men's restroom could use a "refresh", but other than that have no complaints. Outstanding steaks as always. Enjoyed the Ruth's Classics which are a fixed prix menu of soup or salad, steak with shrimp and a dessert. I enjoyed an upgraded 16.oz ribeye, so tender, flavorful and buttery! Loved the Caesar salad and the garl8x mashed. Cheesecake was good not great. After being seated in a more private location, the service was fantastic. Mostly quiet except that we were on a path that many of the servers traversed. Well, TEAM DARRELL WOODS have outdone themselves AGAIN! I made the right decision to choose Ruth's Chris Palm Desert for Thanksgiving Evening. They had a special menu of Turkey, Stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries et. al. It was DELICIOUS!! The Chef deserves major praise for producing a Turkey Day Dinner that was BETTER than my dear ol' Mother used to make. The service by Yasmine was amazing-- as always// she is such a gem of a person who is always providing peerless service-- with a stellar attitude. The manager Priscilla is always so kind and attentive-- with a positive attitude and affable demeanor. Host Heidi is an exemplary of customer service and welcoming hospitality. Ruth's Chris is one of a kind. The food, the atmosphere, the service are all first rate. From Peter Lugar's in Brooklyn, to the original Morton's in Chicago, I'll put Ruth's up against all comers. Has a great experience at Ruth's Chris. I ordered from the $60 3 course meal deal. That was by far the best value on anything in the menu and I would really one come back for that deal. The deal includes a choice of 3 entrees, a choice of 3 sides, a choice of an appetizer, and a choice of 2 desserts. I chose the 6oz filet with house salad with blue cheese and mashed potatoes and cheesecake. I wish the sides offered more than 3 options because neither of the 3 I was a big fan of. Regardless, it's still a great deal. When the salad came out, it was very light on the blue cheese dressing. I had to ask 2 different servers for extra and it took about 20 minutes to come out. Other than the lack of choice in sides and the long wait for dressing with a lack of dressing already, those were really the only negatives. The wait did take a little long on the entirety of the meal but I heard that's part of the experience. The steak was probably the best I've had and so flavorful. The only semi-negative feedback I would give is that a dress code needs to be strictly enforced. People show up in jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, and hats (hats are removed at the request of staff). The LaBrea sourdough bread rolls are easy to go overboard on. Service and ambience is spot on, for this Flagship Darden Group (Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc.) restaurant. Looks like I'm not the only one who made the mistake of coming here for Mother's Day brunch. BEYOND disappointing! My husband, son and his girlfriend had the steak (pathetic) and frittata, and I had the frittata with lobster. Mimosa's were maybe 3-4 sips of prosecco (not champagne) and diluted OJ (highly doubt it was even fresh squeezed). I had raved to my son's girlfriend (who had never been to Ruths) how exceptional the steak was and how it comes in sizzling butter--it did not! I was totally embarrassed. It looked like more like 3 oz rather than 6, and was dry and tasteless. My lobster frittata arrived cold and had to be sent back. The kitchen obviously microwaved it and brought back the same piece. Lobster consisted of measly dried out odds & ends thrown a top of the dry large "brick" of frittata (much larger than the steak) which was mostly grated hash browns. My husband's Bloody Mary was dirty brown in color and had NO garnishes (the beauty of a properly made Bloody Mary). Expresso martini that they were advertising in their promotional email was not impressive either. Needless to say...the amount we paid for this brunch was exorbitant and to say that we were ripped off big time, would be an understatement! read more

Took so long to get our drinks-ended up going to the bar to order them. Salads were dropped off and 30 mins later the main course was finally served. You eat here for the food and service. And the service was poor. This is the second time in a row we've had issues at this location. When you're paying $750 for drinks and a meal(before tip)you deserve the best. They failed. This starts with the management. You need to run a tighter ship. We're done with this location. We'll just start going back to the Irvine location. Made a reservation for New Year's Eve. Came right on time for my reservation. The hostess said you are checked in but we apologize that we are running behind. I asked for how long. The hostess replied "45 minutes to an hour" I was pissed So I went on OpenTable and booked and went to Eddie V's on El Paseo. Very happy this happened because Eddie V's destroys everything about Ruth Chris The ambiance. The food. The choices. The service. And we were seated on time Plus there was live Music So although I will not go back here- I still owe Ruth's Chris a thank you for helping me find Eddie V's. Terrible Service. Inattentive, Slow, and Disorganized Our dinner for seven took nearly three hours. While we understand a larger party may take more time, three hours for drinks, a salad course, entrées, and dessert is excessive. Two servers were assigned to our table, which should have made service smoother, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It took about 30 minutes just to place our order, another 20 minutes for salads to arrive, and our dirty salad plates sat untouched until entrées came roughly 45 minutes later. After finishing dinner, we waited another 20 minutes before plates were cleared and we could even order dessert. The constant waiting between courses and lack of attention made for a very disappointing experience. This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris and likely my last. read more

If you're looking for something quick to have for an early dinner, I highly recommend Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (happy hour menu). Their burgers are the best around. A girlfriend and I were out shopping and decided to stop in. She had never been to Ruth's Chris so wanted to give it a try. I've been several times and knew their burgers are scrumptious and big enough to share with a friend. We go there pretty often and order every year for thanksgiving a sweet potato casserole. Its absolutely delicious and recommended to all my friends . This year I was very disappointed because the container was the same size but the amount of potatoes was about half (about 1 cm high ) on the bottom of the container and of course the price higher!! My husband & I took my mom to Ruth's Chris for Mother's Day today. What a huge disappointment. I have dined at Ruth's Chris 25-30 times in San Diego, Dallas & Palm Desert. Not the fanciest steakhouse, but I've always loved their steaks coming out on hot plates in sizzling butter. The 3 of us all ordered filet mignon. I took a few bites -- couldn't eat it. My mom had already passed hers off to my husband w/out me knowing. I said to my mom," this steak tastes terrible !" She stated she couldn't eat hers either. The steak had a funny taste & was dry as a bone. My husband ate his steak as he was starving but said it wasn't good. The bread we received was cold and hard, the salad ok, the soup ok. The manager took 2 steaks of our bill w/out me asking. That was nice. However, I will not be returning to the Palm Desert location ever again. The place is run down, booths are uncomfortable, the staff seems "not happy" to say the least. I will stick to LG's & Eddie V's from now on. I don't know where they are now buying their meat, but it's awful. There are too many great steakhouse's in the desert to spend hundreds for below average food. read more

Sunday evening out with my husband. We had received a gift card for $100, and decided to give Ruth's Chris a try. We sat in the bar area. Waited 15 minutes to be noticed by one of three employees. Ordered the $80 3-course special- salad, 6oz steak and lobster tail, plus an individual sized cheese cake. My husband had a salad and oso buco. We both had a cocktail. When dinner came my steak had 3 shrimp instead of lobster. I let the employee who brought it out that I ordered lobster. He was very kind and offered an apology, said- "shrimp is on the house", and that it would only take 10 minutes the for the lobster. I did not eat the shrimp. We waited, and were finished when our server asked how everything was- we explained that the lobster was never brought to me. He apologized and said his manager would " make it right". He brings the bill and my dinner was " discounted " $10, the difference of shrimp and lobster dinner special. I explained that not only didn't I eat the shrimp, I didn't order... I never got the lobster! He told me that that's all that they would be discounting my dinner. On our way out the employee who had brought us our food, and was going to get my lobster tail done in 10 minutes, passed by us, and I asked him if he had just forgotten to put my order in for the lobster tail to which he said no he had done it. As a patron who has been to 30+ Ruth's locations, I feel like I've got a feel for the vibe and what to expect. Buttery steaks cooked exactly to the proper temp, ice cold martinis and a strong wine list...consistency is the key and RC delivers from coast to coast, what changes and either enhanced or detracts is the service, the temp of the steak and of course the server. Had the pleasure of being in Palm Desert for our daughter's prom, so the wife and I decided to turn it into a mini getaway--with a fancy steakhouse dinner as the centerpiece. We scored a same-day reservation for Saturday night at Ruth's Chris, which wasn't the case for some of the other steakhouses in the area. As a first-timer, I had high expectations--especially with all I'd heard about the food... and the prices (gulp). Let me just say: the Palm Desert location did not disappoint. Where to even begin... Dinner kicked off with a warm welcome from our server Yazmin, who wasted no time upselling us (successfully) on cocktails. My wife went for the Blackberry Sidecar, and I ordered the Ruth's Manhattan with Woodford Reserve. Now, my wife is normally a one-drink-per-dinner kind of gal, but she sipped that thing like it was the antidote. She LOVED it--and immediately ordered a second. My Manhattan was so smooth and perfectly balanced, I joined her on the round two train. Thankfully, the bread arrived just in time to keep us grounded. Yazmin walked us through the menu, which we appreciated, even if it's a pretty straightforward affair: pick your cut, pick your sides, let the steak gods handle the rest. My wife went with the petite filet, cooked (sigh) medium-well....yes, I've tried, she is who she is....as well as a side of lobster tail. I ordered the medium-rare ribeye--because joy still matters. Sides: roasted brussels sprouts and fries (off-menu but highly recommended by Yazmin). Throughout the night, Yazmin and her right-hand man Michael were consistently attentive and friendly. The ambiance was classic steakhouse: dim lighting, soft clinking of glasses, low buzz of conversations--refined but cozy. When the food arrived, the aroma hit us like a warm hug. The plates were blazing hot, as promised, and everything looked incredible. My wife's filet was... well, medium-well, just how she likes it (I'm working on it, I swear). Her lobster tail....to die for. My ribeye? Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Rich, juicy, seasoned just right. I told myself I'd take it slow. I did not take it slow. The brussels sprouts were an unexpected standout--crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, with just enough bacon to make each bite feel like a celebration. The fries were simple but essential, a perfect counterbalance to all that meaty decadence. Somehow, despite multiple rounds of bread and booze, we cleaned our plates. Just when we thought we couldn't possibly eat more, Yazmin hit us with the all-important question: "Room for dessert?" Of course we said yes. We ordered the cheesecake, topped with fresh berries and a silky cream layer, plus another Manhattan for me and coffee for my better half. The pairing was heavenly.
