On a recent trip to California to celebrate a birthday, my Aunt & I had a fabulous meal at Joy Asian Cuisine. We were greeted with smiles & seated promptly. Several patrons were enjoying their meal as well as a few people who sat at the bar having drinks. Our server was very polite and attentive. She served our drinks and did not push us to order until we were ready. The two appetizers we chose were delicious. The pancake had just the right amount of kick to it. The chutney complimented it very nicely. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not greasy nor dry. When duck is available on a menu, I always order it. Duck is one of my favorite dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size was ample, enough to make a meal for the following day. The duck was accompanied by an orange glaze and a side of rice. My Aunt thoroughly enjoyed the crispy shrimp which also came on a bed of rice. We ordered the garlic spinach to share. The one disappointment was that green tea ice cream was not available. My Aunt opted for vanilla ice cream. A slice of white cake was offered complimentary as a birthday treat. I sipped on a glass of Merlot. Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing evening. Service wasn't the best. I had to ask two times for them to bring our drinks. Food was mediocre at best. Certainly not at a level their price demands. And lastly, the restaurant as well as the casino was very warm and just had dead air. Assuming they were having AC issues but it wasn't pleasant. A restaurant serving delicious Asian cuisine at Fantasy Springs Casino. This past Friday evening, we were craving Asian food after an outdoor music concert at Fantasy. At first, I was thinking Chinese noodles and egg rolls. We enter through the wide entrance doors and spot unoccupied stools at the front bar. We snag them. At the bar, Jose greeted us with a smile, and took our drinks order. The cozy bar serves wine, liquor, and beer. We were starving so our food order was taken pronto. Our food items were ready in less than 15 minutes. I enjoyed the Filipino pancit noodles with chicken and veggies. The pancit noodles were delicious. I had not eaten pancit in over a decade. So, this dish was a special treat for me. We also shared an order of fried spring rolls, which were also quite good. A big applause to Jose for taking good care of us at the bar area. A goup of us ate at Joy on April 4th and had a bad experience but am now writing to praise them. I wrote to the restaurant to express my complaint about someone knocking on our table to say it is time to leave, there is someone else waiting for our table. We tried to say we were waiting 30 minutes for our bill but he wouldn't listen and was very rude. We had eaten here twice before and l loved it. I received an email back from managment apologing and said that is not their style. I also received a phone call a couple of weeks from the high manament that this was not their practice and have dealt with the situation. This is truly great customer service, acknowleding what happened and rectifying it. We will be back. read more

Been here several times. This time... I was not happy. Made a dinner reservation for my hubby and we got there early and were seated in the bar when I specifically asked for dinning room. Ambience is nice and quite, service was the bad part of it this visit. We sat down and waited for our server, a nice young lady took our drink order and granted we were sitting in the bar and it took over 10 minutes to get our Sapporos. We were half way done with our drinks when the server finally came to take our order. Once it was given to us it took another long time for him to come back around. Then another 5 to 10 minutes for another sever to finally bring back my card. We felt very forgotten. And I don't think I will be returning here again. The food... that's always good! We were staying at FS and had just come from j tree. We needed something convenient. Opted to try Joy. We all agree the food was bland! Not popping Asian flavors like we'd hoped. Okay, the best thing about this place is they have a bar that you can sit at and order food. The last thing I wanted to do was to go sit in a Chinese restaurant in a casino while we're waiting for our event to kick off. The food was average to average plus the server/ bartender was extremely nice and helpful. However the kitchen was woefully unprepared for preparing the food and getting it out in a timely fashion. Typically in a Chinese restaurant you order all your food and things just start flying out of the kitchen in no particular order. In this case it was a long slog to receive our very simple orders. Over the weekend I went to a concert at Fantasy Springs Casino, then had dinner at Joy within the casino itself. The menu is hugeeeee with dishes from various Asian backgrounds. - Thai, Korean, Chinese, Filipino, Viet, dim sum - so many options and so little stomach space. My friend and I shared the Beijing Beef ($22) which was a good sized portion, with good flavor. Tons of beef in the dish! My friend also had the Noodle Soup and reported being happy with it. Those chocolate cheesecake doughnuts sound so good but I was fullll~ It's a cute restaurant retreat for some respite inside of a busy casino. Recognized as the "Best Asian Restaurant in the Coachella Valley" by OpenTable, I wanted to see what the hype was all about. As expected, casino dining runs like a well-oiled buffet line--crowds rushing in, kitchens firing off mountains of food to get everyone fed before the show starts. Joy Cuisine was no exception, the night we went for our Jim Jefferies date night. Our 6:15 reservation somehow became a 6:40 seating, but honestly, that seemed par for the course. Plenty of diners at the host stand were in the same boat, all standing by and hungry. The place had nervous energy--servers darting past with carts stacked high, my chair mush have been bumped 8+ times like something out of a culinary beehive. Everyone was buzzing, and judging by the happy faces, no one seemed to mind the wait. The Mongolian beef? Outstanding. The General Tso's chicken (let's be honest, orange chicken) was loaded with "forget your diet" flavor and unapologetic calories. The noodles came out in heroic portions--a glorious carb mountain. My mom lives nearby in La Quinta, so when she suggested this great place at Fantasy Springs Casino, I was hesitant. Yes, I'm kind of snobby with Asian cuisine of all types, and with the 3.7 star rating, well, my Mom really wanted to go. Well, blow me down. It is fusion, but it is done really well. We had a few dishes to share, Thai and Chinese, and all were great. The noodles of the Pad Thai were not cooked long enough, but they re-made it in a jiffy by our lovely server. They had a bunch of employees hanging out at shift change, standing around in the entrance giving each other high fives and knuckle bumps like a bunch of street idiots. The waitress brought warm sake when we ordered cold sake, forgot to bring our appetizer so we got our appetizer after our meal, then forgot to bring our second round of drinks. Overall this place is horrible for service and there doesn't seem to be any management keeping the hoodlums (employees) from loitering when their shift end! We had an absolutely fabulous dining experience at Joy Asian cuisine inside Fantasy Springs Casino. The food was outstanding, but what truly set the evening apart was the service from our waiter Tony and his assistant Chad. From the moment we sat down, we were treated to five Star Service. Both Tony and Chad are outgoing, attentive and genuinely eager to make sure everything is perfect. They went above and beyond helping us select our dishes and making us feel welcome. We started with the spicy cucumbers and beef sauté appetizers, both packed with flavor. For our main course we enjoyed the fried red snapper and a delicious bok choy mixed vegetable dish. Every bite was excellent, but the highlight of the night was without question the personalities and professionalism of Tony and Chad. 5 of us were there last Saturday for dinner. All went well, food and service was good at first. Service got slow and we had to flag down our server for the check. When we finally got the bill we gave her a credit card right away and off she went. While we were waiting for her to come back with the card, a very rude manager came to our table and started knocking on the table saying we had to leave as he had other people waiting for the table. We all were pretty shocked at his attitude. We told him we were waiting for the server to bring back our credit card and then we would leave. He again said he needed the table for other reservations and he did not say it nicely. We have been here 3 other times and have always enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. I'm Asian and was skeptical about Chinese cuisine in the desert and especially in a casino! But what a surprise JOY was . The quality of the food was excellent. So difficult to get Authentic good Asian food in Coachella Valley. This is about as good as you are going to get and it is mediocre at best. We had a party of five pictures not captured below include green beans; gai lan and mu Shu pork. Like all the other Asian restaurants in CV the tastes are muted and blanded down. We ordered Vespers which we were assured the bartender knew how to make but came with Olives....guess they don't know how to make these. Yes, it is inside the casino but that doesn't mean you have to gamble, their location is right in front of the entrance so if you are not into casinos you do not have to walk around the slot machines to get there. I will not lie about the saltiness of SOME of their cuisine but hey it is called- "constructive criticism" - so the ROOM for improvement will open. Staff are GREAT! They know what they serve and when asked about their menus they are so knowledgeable unlike from other places that they have to ask the kitchen first. We also met their new manager Noel who is very attentive! He's really like the man of the place. HE makes sure that all his guests are enjoying their meal and assures what's needed must be attended. YOU will feel super welcome and special. The place as always is well-maintained, and tidy. I am not sure if there is a restroom inside the restaurant but maybe in the casino. 5 stars. A new friend of mine told me that I had to give Joy a try. I was initially turned off because this restaurant is inside a casino, but that's a conversation for another time. I recently got a new car and felt like taking a lunchtime drive. Joy did not disappoint. BBQ noodle soup: 5 stars! I ordered the pork BBQ noodle soup. I was given the chicken noodle soup. Both were delicious. Chicken: tender, flavorful, DELICIOUS skin on some of the chicken slices. Pork: DELICIOUS. juicy, flavorful and juuuust the right amount of fat. Mostly meat and just delicious! The soup itself if clear, appears to be rich in collagen, and comes with a healthy portion of rice noodles and baby bok choy. Add a little green onions and you got a 5 star dish in and of itself. I was about halfway thorough the chicken noodle soup when the Manager, Victoria came by the check on us. I mentioned that the soup was delicious, but I had actually ordered the BBQ PORK noodle soup and asked if I could try a bite of the pork. I am so glad I did this because even though the chicken was 5 star, the pork is much much better. I slid the slices of pork into my soup and gobbled them up. Spicy cucumbers: 5 stars Great appetizer! (see photo) I don't remember the name of this dish exactly but its under the lunch appetizer and its chunks of cucumbers mixed with chili, garlic and a sauce of some kind. I had a delicious lunch at the Joy Asian Cuisine Restaurant located on the first floor of the Fantasy Springs Casino. We didn't have a reservation, but was able to get a table in the main dining room. For starters, we ordered a sampler, which was very tasty and let's you try several items (spare ribs, egg roll, potsticker. beef skewer) to whet your appetite before the main Entree. I thoroughly enjoyed the Korean Bi Bim Bap, the rice and egg were cooked perfectly. I drank the complimentary hot tea, but noticed a fully stocked cocktail bar, and an extensive wine list you can purchase by the glass or several options for $35 a bottle. First time here last night with my family. The service was great! The food was good. I highly recommend the chicken fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken (general tsos chicken I believe that's what they called it) and lo mein (chow mein). The mango mojito was good and a very generous amount based on other places I've been to. We just walked in but generally they said you need a reservation specially for a bigger party. We had such a great time last night at Joy. The food and service were incredible. We ordered so much food for four people, but I'm glad we did because we got to taste a little bit of everything. Mom and I played bingo until 4:15 and we ran over to their Asian restaurant to eat. We had to sit on the bar seats because they had reservations later for all the other empty tables. Our waiter/bartender was really nice and did a great job with the service. His name is Christian. We decided to try their Peking duck which you do not have to order in advance. The duck was really good except for the duck pancakes which tasted like flour tortillas that were cold and dried out. . For 52 dollars they should rethink the brand that they buy because it can make or break the dish.next time we will have the buns instead if we order it again. The desert was really good but pricy at $12. We had dinner here before and I think 31/2 stars is about right for this restaurant all things considered. read more
