It's a small hole in the wall sort of place. I walked in and thought i should probably walk out, as it wasn't very clean but I decided to stay, i ordered the deluxe tempura, miso soup and a green tea. The green tea was delicious as well as the miso soup. The tempura was good, not the best but good. The service was good, he checked in on me several times throughout my lunch. We are here for lunch during our vacation. The food was extremely fresh and the service was great! We were the first customers on a Friday when it opened and they opened early as they seen us outside waiting. The prices were fair and seemed to be lower than nearby sushi locations. Really a 3.5 but surprisingly good sushi for being a hole in the wall shop in the middle of Indio. Ramen not good, box ramen would not get that again. Gyoza and shrimp tempura was average but good for kids Gyudon was pretty solid, good meat , fresh veggies and rice, just wish there was a little more meat. Salmon skin salad was awesome, so much salmon skin and avocado and veggies, must get Super dragon roll was awesome as well, salmon and unagi and shrimp tempura inside The prices are pretty cheap, I would focus on the sushi cuz it's a good deal and fresh considering we are in Indio. I don't even know where to start, this place completely blew my expectations. I feel like I finally had real sushi for the first time in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh, and you can actually taste the quality in every bite. What I appreciated the most is that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice--they were packed with fish, which made it feel like I was truly getting my money's worth. Rolls are a pretty good size however, they charge you for absolutely everything. With takeout they give you absolutely no sauces whatsoever I had to pay for every side, two sides of spicy mayo, eel sauce, and even Sriracha. Everything here is an up charge. They're so greedy. read more

Been coming here since high school pre-covid and it is my favorite sushi restaurant by far, I would crave it even when I moved out for college. It's the most affordable in the valley, really fresh, and yummy. Stopped in for a quick bite and was seriously impressed. The miso soup was perfectly balanced--just the right amount of miso, with fresh tofu, green onions, and seaweed. I also tried the Baja Fresh Roll, which had spicy tuna inside and was topped with yellowtail, thin jalapeño slices, a bright yuzu sauce, and just the right kick from sriracha. Ordered the Tropicana roll and it had a perfect combo of sweet mango and cilantro on great tasting fish! The protein roll was spicy with jalapeños on top but was really fresh as well! This hole-in-the-wall shop was better than I expected! The place is run by a Japanese folks who know how to make quality rolls. The server was very polite and accommodating. The food tasted rich and flavorful. I ordered the beef yakisoba and the baked lobster roll. Both dishes had a distinct strong yummy taste. The roll was warm and rich with lobster creamy goodness. The yakisoba had good texture. They did take quite a while to get to me when I wanted to order because there was only 1 server in an almost full shop. A lot of people got to-go as well since it seems more of an order and go kind of place, but the dining in wasn't bad either, there were plenty of seats and tables in this tiny shop. read more

Anthony Bourdain would have been proud of us for trying this strip mall joint. It boasts sushi but the owners are Korean and make the most delicious Korean food. We had a mix of both, miso and edamame and Korea BBQ chicken. My 3 & 4 year old cried on the way on wanting to eat at the French Fry store (McDonalds) but once we we were seated and they were enjoying their miso all of that was forgotten. The first time I ask for soy and siracha sauce and there was nothing one of my rolls order was not good and one tiny square avocado for my monkey brain. We tried this restaurant due to its high yelp ratings, but found it a bit lacking. When opening the front door, we were greeted by a loud electric buzzer and a slight fishy smell. We were seated next to the door, so we'd hear that annoying buzzer anytime someone passed through it. The interior could use a fresh coat of paint and the floor could use a good steam cleaning. Service was friendly and they accommodated menu modification requests. She ordered one of their speciality rolls and that tasted good. I ordered the six piece nigiri sampler and it was a mixed bag. The ahi, salmon, and trout were fine. The other three were tasteless and watery. By watery, I mean they seemed like they had been sliced and stored in water for some time. Presentation of the food on the plates was good. We had to ask for wasabi and soy sauce dishes. There was mo miso soup or edamame provided, so I guess you have to order them. Also, I don't know what three of my nigiri were as the server never bothered to describe any of them. I doubt we'll return. read more

We ordered the baked salmon roll, Philadelphia roll, yellow tail nigiri, and a chicken katsu to share. The chicken katsu was displayed clean and cute. Baked salmon roll was very creamy and delicious. The salmon in the philly roll was a decent amount and fish tasted great. For the yellow tail, the glaze on top paired very well with the fish and tasted fresh. Thought I'd give them another chance. Let's just say I'm embarrassed to be the duke after only two check-in's here. Ordered three rolls and they all tasted the same. Two were wrong rolls completely. Now sure how that happened when I ordered in person. Either way I didn't eat half of them. I'm honestly surprised I didn't get sick from eating these rolls. Rice to meat ratio is terrible. Avocado is at the forefront of every roll that has the ingredient. If you like avocado overwhelming the taste of rice, fish, seaweed, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger than this is the place for you.
