I don't even know where to start, this place completely blew my expectations. I feel like I finally had real sushi for the first time in a long time. The fish was incredibly fresh, and you can actually taste the quality in every bite. What I appreciated the most is that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice--they were packed with fish, which made it feel like I was truly getting my money's worth. It's a small hole in the wall sort of place. I walked in and thought i should probably walk out, as it wasn't very clean but I decided to stay, i ordered the deluxe tempura, miso soup and a green tea. The green tea was delicious as well as the miso soup. The tempura was good, not the best but good. The service was good, he checked in on me several times throughout my lunch. We are here for lunch during our vacation. The food was extremely fresh and the service was great! We were the first customers on a Friday when it opened and they opened early as they seen us outside waiting. The prices were fair and seemed to be lower than nearby sushi locations. Really a 3.5 but surprisingly good sushi for being a hole in the wall shop in the middle of Indio. Ramen not good, box ramen would not get that again. Gyoza and shrimp tempura was average but good for kids Gyudon was pretty solid, good meat , fresh veggies and rice, just wish there was a little more meat. Salmon skin salad was awesome, so much salmon skin and avocado and veggies, must get Super dragon roll was awesome as well, salmon and unagi and shrimp tempura inside The prices are pretty cheap, I would focus on the sushi cuz it's a good deal and fresh considering we are in Indio. This is a cute little Asian place. The owner is very personable and kind. I had the spicy miso ramen bowl, my husband had the bulgogi and my daughter has the CA roll with a miso soup. They don't serve alcohol and it is a great little place for some Asian food in Palm Springs. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite and was seriously impressed. The miso soup was perfectly balanced--just the right amount of miso, with fresh tofu, green onions, and seaweed. I also tried the Baja Fresh Roll, which had spicy tuna inside and was topped with yellowtail, thin jalapeño slices, a bright yuzu sauce, and just the right kick from sriracha. I loveeeee Sushi Bento!! The sushi rolls were soooo delicious!! At first I was hesitant to go eat there because it's a small restaurant in a ghetto area of Indio (in my opinion). Out of all the sushi places/restaurants I've tried... this is now my #1 Favorite Sushi restaurant!! Anthony Bourdain would have been proud of us for trying this strip mall joint. It boasts sushi but the owners are Korean and make the most delicious Korean food. We had a mix of both, miso and edamame and Korea BBQ chicken. My 3 & 4 year old cried on the way on wanting to eat at the French Fry store (McDonalds) but once we we were seated and they were enjoying their miso all of that was forgotten. The chef was so kind and brought them a little orange he had carved into a bear at the end of the meal to the delight of the children. It was a magical and delicious experience. read more

Unfortunately, i forgot to take pictures of the food because it looked really good and i could not wait to try. We ordered the baked salmon roll, Philadelphia roll, yellow tail nigiri, and a chicken katsu to share. The chicken katsu was displayed clean and cute. Baked salmon roll was very creamy and delicious. The salmon in the philly roll was a decent amount and fish tasted great. For the yellow tail, the glaze on top paired very well with the fish and tasted fresh. We tried this restaurant due to its high yelp ratings, but found it a bit lacking. When opening the front door, we were greeted by a loud electric buzzer and a slight fishy smell. We were seated next to the door, so we'd hear that annoying buzzer anytime someone passed through it. The interior could use a fresh coat of paint and the floor could use a good steam cleaning. Service was friendly and they accommodated menu modification requests. She ordered one of their speciality rolls and that tasted good. I ordered the six piece nigiri sampler and it was a mixed bag. The ahi, salmon, and trout were fine. The other three were tasteless and watery. By watery, I mean they seemed like they had been sliced and stored in water for some time. Presentation of the food on the plates was good. We had to ask for wasabi and soy sauce dishes. There was mo miso soup or edamame provided, so I guess you have to order them. Also, I don't know what three of my nigiri were as the server never bothered to describe any of them. I doubt we'll return. read more

This is a little restaurant that is tucked in a little shopping center. Dont let the outside fool you. Its really good sushi. The restaurant was empty... But Many to go orders were coming through. The staff is very nice and the chef brought over a special surprise not on the menu that was so good. The rolls are unique and have a really good combination to them. Was really happy with the size of the rolls as well. We ordered 5 rolls with many appetizers. Even ordered an extra roll and appetizer to go. We really enjoyed the food here. It's location and secrecy definitely played to our benefit since all other nearby restaurants had a 2+ hour wait during the holidays. Lucky for us, we were able to call up Sushi Bento and pick up our meal within 20 minutes. Our order consisted of Baked Salmon roll, Rainbow roll, a chicken bowl, gyoza, and miso soup. We got their baked lobster roll and atarashi roll, and these rolls satisfied our cravings! Solid presentation for take out and tastes good! Price to portions are fair and expected.
