My go-to sushi spot. Miso soup is nice and flavorful, no need to add soy sauce like in other places. I always get the salmon sushi with avocado slices, but their cat city roll and chino roll are delicious.

Love that Joe's sushi finally has a spot open in the eastern Coachella valley. The food is always delicious and fresh. Service is outstanding. My only complaint is that they always run out of plum wine. Family favorites are the ecstasy roll, chino roll, sushi sashimi combo and the spicy edamame.

Ramen supposedly mild but you can see by the orange texture that is clearly spicy you should have seen the red pepper flakes

We've been going there for almost a year because we enjoy the service of people it's close to home the food that has been consistently good until tonight. My stepfather was at the hospital at Eisenhower he was coming home my mom dropped him off here at the house went over and got the food I had specifically ordered mild cuz I have a stomach issue so does my mother anyway. I repeatedly said mild and initially the young lady I spoke with on the phone would not help me and said well that's too bad basically. Then she acknowledged that she ordered mild and basically put you know through the kitchen under the bus and said it was their fault. But still would not acknowledge that they maybe had a park to play that something had occurred most of the time when people don't aren't satisfied with their meal they simply want to be validated and this woman did everything from father accusing me of line about what I ordered to admitting what I ordered to telling me too bad you waited too long. If that's the case fine I finally ended up telling her I'm done we just won't come back to your restaurant and she was like okay so I hung up and that's that

    Bad combo plate.

Food was barely edible. Teriyaki chicken had tendon in it and was over cooked. No flavor at all. California roll tasted old. Lettuce in the salad was wilted. I will not return.

First time at Mariscos Guamúchil and definitely not our last!…read more We had a reservation for 8:30 PM, but we arrived early and were seated right away at 8:10 PM -- which already set the tone for a smooth, welcoming experience. From the moment we sat down, Liliana, our waitress, went above and beyond. Her energy was warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic, making us feel like valued guests instead of just another table. We ordered drinks and appetizers, and everything came out promptly. Liliana checked in at the perfect times, made great recommendations, and kept the service flowing seamlessly all night. You can tell she truly cares about her customers' experience -- she anticipated needs before we even had to ask and made sure everything was perfect. The highlight of the night was the viral sushi cake -- which was not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious. It made the evening feel special and memorable. (Pro tip: if you want the viral sushi cake, you MUST order it at least 2 days prior to your reservation!) Liliana enhanced our experience by a landslide. Her professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail took our dinner from good to exceptional. It's rare to receive this level of customer service, and it truly made our first visit unforgettable. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. Highly recommend -- we'll definitely be back!

Would rather hold out for better sushi options than settle for someplace that's just average. For context solid sushi spots in the desert are hard to come by, understandably. La Quinta actually has two of my favorites BUT they are only open for dinner hours. So I've been on the search for solid sushi spots that have lunch hours. Being that Sam's Sushi was open for lunch and has moderate reviews, thought that they were worth a try. The ambiance of the spot is basic. There was a proper sushi bar which I could appreciate and the restaurant was spacious. My biggest issues were cleanliness and freshness. The tables weren't clean enough for my preference (soy sauce containers were sticky and the plate they sit on hadn't been cleaned for a while). Also I found the temperature inside to be a little too warm, which is always a red flag to me when dealing with seafood. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 stars is the staff were friendly. Despite being busy they had me seated quickly and also food was at a good pace. One of my drinks was forgotten by the server but he was kind and apologized about it, so not a big deal. As again, they were busy. Overall the reason for the lower review is primarily for the food and quality. I ordered a $25 bento box (not quite trusting or committing to larger sushi rolls) and was still underwhelmed. The best part of my meal was the miso soup and California roll. The California roll was average but tasty. However, the other two box options were meh. The mixed tempura had hits and misses. Tempura shrimp was decent. However, the veggies were too thick - so the batter to veggie ratio was off. Still edible though. The bummer with the bento box was the sushi and salad. Salad had barely any dressing, and not the tasty ginger or sesame dressing that most have - the dressing was so minimal I couldn't even tell you what it was. Also the sushi just didn't taste fresh. The ebi was fine but usually I wouldn't choose this for sushi. The salmon was edible but not super fresh and the yellowtail was stringy and I couldn't eat it. For $25 the plate looked appealing but lacked good flavor/execution. Overall, the place was busy so I'm hopeful they have a good following with locals and I saw a lot of professionals here for a quick lunch break. I just think there are substantially better sushi spots in the desert...I'm spoiled and have lots of good sushi spots at home that this spot wouldn't be one I'd be eager to come to again soon.

I came to this location hoping for better service and to give the food a chance. I have been receiving ads relentlessly for the all-you-can-eat service. To my knowledge, there is no other Sushi restaurant in Coachella Valley that offers this. The restaurant is slightly nicer than the Palm Desert location, although the tables have a sticky coating on them that feels like they are permanently dirty. Overall, it looks worn down and cheap but that's not a problem for me. Knowing that they have a separate menu for the all you can eat, we asked for that menu from the start. Just know that you'll have to cross reference the sheet that you fill out to order and the full menu to know what the food items are. This is very cumbersome, as the all-you-can-eat offerings are much less than the ones in the full menu. We were most disappointed that the sashimi is not offered. For $50 per person, this should not be the case. This is where I should've known that this all-you-can-eat menu is specifically designed to fill you up with the cheap stuff. Every single item that we ordered has a ridiculous amount of rice packed into it. There's so much rice that you have to chew for at least a minute and by that time, what you are ingesting is just a ball with the texture of mochi. Extremely dense and gummy. Any flavor coming from the fish is completely erased by the rice vinegar that the rice is seasoned with. As mentioned in other reviews, you must eat all the rice and everything you order or you'll be charged. By the time we were done eating our first roll, we realized that the amount of rice made the all-you-can-eat not worth it. You're better off buying single rolls for cheaper than the price of AYCE. And if you're doing that, there are much better sushi places than this to go to for the same price. I would be amiss if I didn't mention that my gf had bones in her salmon nigiri and hand roll, and was also found in the eel. She also had to eat each piece of these rolls in several bites because the amount of rice is incredible. I also want to be fair and say that this would've been perfectly acceptable flavor-wise if there wasn't so much rice. It just completely overpowers everything once you chew it. We enjoyed their fries, gyoza, and shumai, which are appetizers and are also part of AYCE. But that's not what you should go to a sushi restaurant imo.
