You ever order sushi in a mall and ask yourself halfway through... why am I paying restaurant prices for food court vibes?
Stopped by Sushi Plus while running errands. Ordered a Crunch Roll, Dragon Roll, Salmon Cali Roll and Combo #1. Total came out to $65.47. Not cheap.
First impression -- it's exactly what you'd expect from a mall setup. Bright lights, stainless steel counter, menu boards overhead, quick in-and-out flow. Service was normal. Not bad. Not special either. You order, you wait, you grab your tray. That's it.
Now the sushi itself? Solid. Fresh enough. Standard portions. Standard quality. Honestly -- good. Nothing wrong with it. The salmon looked clean, rice held together well, rolls were balanced. No weird aftertaste, no sloppy cuts. Just... typical.
And that's kind of the point.
For the same money, I can sit down in an actual sushi restaurant, get real table service, a calmer atmosphere, maybe a little experience with it. Here, you're paying full price but skipping the ambience part.
Would I drive across town for this? No.
Would I grab it again if I'm already in the mall and don't feel like eating greasy fast food? Yeah, probably. It's a solid option when you're shopping and want something cleaner.
It's not bad. It's just not a destination. read more
