A small, very cozy restaurant. A great feature is the wide variety on the menu--there is something to suit every taste. Service is great.

We sat outside for dinner at The Venue with a group of 4. Thanks to our attentive waitress we were able to sneak in some happy hour orders of Spicy Tuna Tostada, California Dream'n, and Sandfish. We later ordered a Lollipop roll, The Experiment, and Scandinavian. Overall food was fresh and flavorful, but our favorites were the Tostada, Sandfish, and Scandinavian. The Scandinavian had a slightly smoky flavor and Sandfish had a lovely crunch with the crispy potato threads. The Experiment was the only slight disappointment as the mango was very a very faint flavor and our main driver for ordering (while still yummy). Highly recommend sitting on the patio, even despite the wind it's a very peaceful oasis on El Paseo.

We got so tired of eating at all the other sushi bars that we do not really like so we decided to try somewhere new. I never tried this one on El Paseo because I've always heard how expensive it was however, we arrived in time for a happy hour between 4:30 and 5:30 , everyday, and the prices are very much better . Everything was excellent. The service was good. The atmosphere is so beautiful. They have very nice outdoor eating as well I did read some of the reviews and it did say it takes a while to get your food and they are right but it's worth waiting for this is the only sushi bar that I have been to lately where all the sushi comes from inside the kitchen not behind the bar. All the sushi was delicious and the prices and quality was good during happy hour. The ice cream was the best we ever had outstanding for sure we will be back.

Don't let the outside patio fool you, they are OPEN and absolutely delicious. We had reservations at 5:30pm and the waiter, Katrina informed us that happy hour was until 6pm. So, we ordered a Chardonnay and a Manhattan, one now and one for later at the happy hour price. Cha Ching$$ We also stuck with the happy hour menu and it was a great way to share four different dishes: Soy beans, Tuna Takai Tacos (check the picture to piece in the taco), California Dream'n (my Fav), and Sanfish. Service was attentive and at a good pace. We didn't feel rushed at all. at We are heading back this Friday night, see you then.

What a lovely experience here! The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the staff are all so welcoming You are greeted with a complimentary appetizer which was an ahi tartare taco. Delicious We tried several different rolls. All so fresh and tasty. No corkage fee for the bottle of wine we brought which was amazing. Looking forward to returning soon!

My dad and I stopped by The Venue for happy hour and a light pre-dinner, and as always, it did not disappoint. We've been coming here many times over the years whenever he visits the valley, and the food, service, and overall vibe are consistently great. We ordered a few appetizers to start -- the cucumber salad, miso soup, tempura shrimp, and chicken potstickers. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We also tried the hot stone Wagyu, which was so good and definitely a must-try. The vegetarian roll was another favorite of the night. The service is always warm and attentive, and the ambiance has such a nice, modern, comfortable feel. It's the perfect spot for a casual happy hour or a special dinner. Definitely one of our go-to places here on El Paseo!

Had a really fun time here in Palm Springs. The dishes were creative and different, and the whole experience felt special. Service was great too. The omakase was enjoyable, though the price felt a little high for what it was. Overall still a great cute spot & worth checking out.

We were staying in Indian Wells and the front desk told us about The Venue. I've been to their sister restaurant Sandfish in Palm Springs. The service was amazing and accommodating. We arrived after 8pm thinking they closed at 9pm (Google) but they actually closed at 8:30pm. We didn't feel rushed and the items came out super fast! We ordered the tuna tostada and coconut shrimp to start. We had couple nigiri sushi before our 3 rolls - Venue, El Paseo and Wagyu. I didn't pay attention and all 3 rolls were spicy and 2 had Serrano peppers on top. Everything was delicious. The two of us shared everything and we were stuffed walking out. I could have ordered 1 less roll. If you're shopping around El Paseo or staying near Palm Desert or Indian Wells this is THE sushi spot. They gave me a free appetizer voucher for my next visit too!

It was my first time dining with The Venue, even though there's only one vegetarian option for rolls, it was super tasty. There are some appetizers that are vegetarian friendly as well, I'm also glad they have mocktail options, even though they are a tad more expensive than the alcohol options. The servers are friendly and well knowledged. The inside seating isn't that big, but once we aren't in summer days, there's plenty of outdoor seating.

This is definitely a fancy date night spot, somewhere would go to if you wanted to flex -- it's pricey. Majority of their rolls had the same California roll base -- (real) crab meat and avocado -- with different toppings. Wasn't super unique, but the flavors were good. The A5 Wagyu hot stone was pretty generous for how much meat you get and the truffle butter that comes with it was a good pairing. Service was good, no complaints there!

Fairly well executed dishes. Their pricing was rather expensive, almost to a Nobu level....not sure if that's just what the area calls for? We enjoyed the Wagyu Beef Carpacio, and a couple of the rolls. The appetizers are good, nothing out of the ordinary. The shrimp tempura was crispy and not oily. The restaurant itself is rather small so definitely recommend a reservation.

Creative omakase.. interesting take on smoked salmon, but sushi style. Wagyu with a fried quail egg (steak and eggs). Quite the surprise in Palm Springs. Enjoyed it very much and very filling. Strong portions.

We ordered a few signature rolls, hand rolls, appetizers. They are pretty good. Spicy clam hand roll was the gem for me. Drinks are good too (cucumber jalapeño margarita was impressive)! What led to the 3 star rating was the service. Not only did the speed very slow (waited 20 mins to order food) but also they apparently forgot about our sandfish roll. We got the roll eventually but was not impressed about the service.

The place was almost empty and they squished us in with another family, which made it somewhat uncomfortable. Our waitress was also extremely rude. She immediately asked to take our orders- before we even had time to sit down. She spoke too fast and seemed stressed or angry, or like she was rushing us out. I didn't appreciate feeling like I was taking up space- she made us feel unwelcome. Despite this, we took our time and ordered drinks, which were nice and strong (albeit overpriced) The menu is also expensive, and although we ordered nothing out of the ordinary, our bill was over $300.00. The food tasted fine. No complaints there. We enjoyed watching our chef cook in front of us and the overall experience was a memorable one. Nevertheless the kids had a fun evening, and I made the best of it, but I will not be returning. At that price point there are many better food options in the Palm Desert area.

Disappointing Experience, Especially for a $700 Dinner? We came here to celebrate a birthday,…read moreexpecting a great Teppanyaki experience, especially since we celebrated the same person here around the same time last year and had a very good experience. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. First, no properly functioning air conditioning in a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant in the Coachella Valley, in August? With a hot grill directly in front of you? For a dinner that ended up costing our group around $700, this was simply not acceptable. There was a sign on the door stating that "due to extreme weather" the AC was not working at full capacity. But we were here at the same time last year, during the same Coachella Valley summer heat, and the AC worked perfectly. So it is difficult not to wonder whether this is really about the weather or whether the owners simply have not prioritized fixing or properly maintaining the system. The service itself was good, and I actually felt bad for our server. They were clearly extremely busy and doing their best while apparently understaffed. Drinks took forever, and there was no manager in sight helping the team, checking on guests, or addressing the uncomfortable temperature. When customers are spending this kind of money for a special celebration, they should not have to sit through dinner sweating next to a Teppanyaki grill while an overwhelmed staff tries to keep up. I don't blame the server. This felt like a management and ownership issue. At this price point, guests should expect a comfortable environment, adequate staffing, timely drinks, and visible management, especially at a restaurant built around cooking over a hot grill. Sadly, compared with our experience last year, this was a major disappointment, dinning out should come with a much better overall experience.
