Great food and service. Please support this mom & pop restaurant. The owners are so kind and friendly. They're very funny too. They make you feel welcomed and appreciated. The few complaints I see about mistaken orders can be remedied by enunciating your orders or even pointing on the menu. All of chefs recommendations are tasty. But my boyfriend's and my stomach/heart belong to the terriyaki combo. Definitely get it with half noodles. The beef and chicken combo is top tier. I get it with shrimp too when I'm in the mood. They have beers which my boyfriend likes to get. I haven't tried anything on their drink menu yet but it's because their food is so filling already. The dining area has cute wood seating arrangements that are comfy. They even got a large fan now so eating in is much better. read more

I was having a craving for curry katsu so I thought I'd check out Sakura Palm . It's in a large shopping area and easy to get to . It was a one man show until I saw the wife come from the back to the front . The inside was fairly large but with few patrons . There was no ac except a large fan . I had hopes of a tasty katsu curry over rice but instead a lukewarm dish with minimal curry flavor . It was kinda skimpy for the price and I'm sorry it didn't meet my expectations . read more

only have had the teriyaki chicken bowl w rice ($12), which is really tasty and look forward to trying the beef and noodles next time. Husband & wife shop next to Casa Luna (another great local mex place) who are characters. The chef husband loudly announced my take out order "Chicken Teriyakiii!" so grabbed my bag heading towards the door and he shouts to me "You like my Chicken Teriyakiii!!" while smiling. I typically never post reviews for anywhere I go but I was frankly very disappointed...Walked in here because I was craving poke... the servers answered "yes" to all my questions and advertised a poke bowl. I asked if it was spicy, they said yes, I asked if they had spicy tuna, they said yes. They also said they'd add rice bc it didn't have any. When I got back to my hotel, the fish was frozen, the salad old, no flavor, no spice and a spoon of old rice at the bottom and for a higher price than average bowls. I was thinking this was a sit down sushi place. Well, nooo.... It's an order at the counter and grab a table. The sushi was on par with this style. It's a room with tables, that's it... The people behind the counter felt like they might own the place, and were very nice. I had a beer with my food, which was nice. The bento box was very good. I might have not stayed, but the people really felt nice and interested in providing a good experience. Still, sushi and this style don't vibe well for me. Maybe if there was any Japanese sushi style anything? Maybe offer table service? For a quick stop and grab a bit, without doing a fast food spot, this is a good place. For a sushi spot, it's not. The worst sushi I have had. I ordered takeout from here and what I received looked like a joke. The rolls were miniature, had inconsistent ingredients, and were a jumbled mess. Sakura Palm is a great place to stop before shopping for way too long at any of the stores in the lot. I got the unagidon (Eel bowl) and it was delicious! The eggs were cooked so well, the eel was tender and flavorful and the pickled veggies were a perfect addition to brighten up the dish! The owner was so nice and very friendly. The food came out pretty quickly. we also got drinks. I highly recommend the matcha boba it was perfect and not overly sweet like a lot of other places. Ordered the shrimp bento box to go, with the emphasis on "box." The small C-shaped shrimps came frozen out of a box, the egg rolls were probably pan fried out of a box, the dumplings were of lesser quality than a bag of Ling Lings that you can get at Costco, and the California Roll wasn't up to supermarket-level sushi. Bagged frozen rice out of a box was thrown in for good measure. The restaurant itself is equally uninspiring. Drab and dark interiors with no A/C, suggesting that corners are being cut. I couldn't give a damn about whether the food is authentic (it clearly isn't) but there should be reasonable expectations about it being fresh, (it clearly isn't) and most importantly, tasty (it clearly isn't.) An entry level fast Japanese joint like Sansai would be a perfect fit for this mall, and it's really too bad that Sakura Palm is making no effort to come close to that modest level. Avoid. read more

...rather odd little place. Just a bunch of scattered tables... you walk up and order sushi and they bring it to your table. It's basically supermarket Sushi made fresh. The rolls are very small. Nothing special about them at all. I certainly would not compare this to any other traditional sushi restaurant in the area. The roles are about $13-$15 apiece. read more

Ordered food from Sakura a few days ago for the family and despite all the positive reviews you see I'll be on the one star side because the food is not what they claim it is vegetable tempura should be vegetables, battered and fried they grind up some vegetables and put it in a patty and call that vegetable tempura. They shorted me on two items on my pick up order and the quality of the food is terrible. I do not give these types of reviews lightly but if you've eaten good Japanese food these people should not really be in business at least where I come from. Lastly, I talked to Daniel the manager and he was very difficult to work with. He didn't even offer any customer service only denials. Excellent!! I took my daughter here to grab a bite to eat for a Sunday lunch and the food was delicious! We got a bowl of chicken ramen for $11.79 and 2 "$6.50" rolls, teriyaki chicken and salmon. The man and lady behind the counter were very helpful and hospital. It's a little different from other sushi places in that you order at the counter but I think it's kind of nice! Hidden Gem! The bento boxes are fresh and filling. Was invited by a friend for the first time. Now this is going to be my go to place!

Dropped in on a weeknight about half an hour before their closing time. The chicken teriyaki bento box, chicken karaage, and dumplings were all good. The chicken teriyaki was grilled up fresh, and I very much liked the flavor. The chicken was well marinated so wasn't dependent on overly sweet or gooey sauce. The menu has a wide variety of Japanese selections that I don't know if they can pull off since they may not specialize in those things, but everything that we did order was very good. read more

If you didn't like your experience, talk to the employees calmly, explain yourself, and work together to reach a solution. It's that simple to turn your 1 star review to a 5 star. Anyway, the oyakodon is amazing. The sauce and the veggies pair perfectly with each bite of chicken, egg, and rice. Even my husband, who was born and raised in Japan, could not stop eating it.
