Javier is amazing and helpful!!!
Tim H.

Wow. I'll start with that! Or usual poke place was closed, so we ventured over here. Javier was really friendly and helpful. So big score for him. The bowl was a perfect size. The difference between regular and large was number of protein choices, not size. Yet, either way, you're going to be happy. Ample servings for your ingredients and they are all served from a clean and light space. We got two bowls and gave a tip, as you should for awesomeness, and spent $25. Every bit was excellent and we now have a new regular place.

Salmon tuna maika'i

Craving a solid bowl of poke? Look no further; Pokehana is your spot! Staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and open to answering questions. I ordered the salmon tuna maika'i and was absolutely delighted at the freshness and myriad of wonderful flavors! Portions were generous and the bowl was filling. Highly recommend this spot! I'll be coming back to to try out the other options on the menu!

I'm a regular.. I go often.... But the girl today with the thick black hair (curly) was so stingy. I pay close to 20 for a bowl... I got 5 small cuts of salmon and I included my picture for what my portion was of spicy tuna... this was it. I then asked to pay for extra crab salad just to have some protein. The other staff there has been amazing, it was just way way off today. Disappointed and she really was off in manners too. She seemed annoyed that I was there. (Mind you, I'm the only one there at 1:30!)

The best poke shop so far in California! Thank you for the concept and nice and clean place. So sad you are too far from DTLA. I wish you open in my neighborhood soon I'm gonna invite all my friends. ;) Your fish quality is great and all ingredients look fresh and clean.

Service was great and fast. Fish was fresh enough. But being as someone from Hawaii, this wasn't close.

I always like the variety of their mixins and toppings. The fish is always good, too. I especially like the togarashi sauce.

Great place. Many choices of toppings. It does add up to about $20 with 3 types of proteins and lots of extra toppings.

How long does it take to get your food from the time you walk in?

10 minutes at the most. You'll spend more time talking to them about each of the toppings that you can choose from which is fascinating to hear about their creative and tasty ingredients.

Would love to try this out - wondering if any of the sauces are vegan friendly?

I believe all of them

10/10 experience!…read more The poke bowl was absolutely delicious! The portion was huge and definitely worth the money, especially compared to Pokehana. The popcorn chicken was also amazing, and they gave us such a generous portion! We actually saw another review saying they barely received any, so we wanted to try it for ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised by how much they gave us! I also ordered the mixed berry green tea, and OMG, it was so good! I'm not even a green tea person, but I loved it! Everything was fresh, delicious, and worth the price. We will definitely be coming back!

I've been eyeing this place for a while now whenever I'm in the area and now I finally had the…read morechance to try it out. But after my experience, I think it was best that I stayed away for a while. I came here with a friend and we had a popcorn chicken to share while we had our own poke bowls. I'm going to be completely honest and transparent, but we were disappointed at the portion size. The popcorn chicken was good, they brought it out and it tasted crispy and flavorful. And how much was it? $10. Imagine ten dollars for about 7 small pieces. Never in my years of dining out have I ever felt so robbed. I would pay $6 for this portion size. It was good but $10 quality good? Highway robbery. I've never felt so betrayed by my hometown like this before, everywhere else I liked and had no problem. We got our bowls and we both looked at our tiny pieces of fish in it. We could count them on our fingers. I had about ten small pieces of fish per 3 fish (tuna, salmon, yellowtail). It's funny because I was thinking as I was ordering "3 proteins in a bowl?? What a steal". Little did I know, it wasn't a steal but the exact opposite. A robbery. Actually a steal for them probably, but not me as the paying customer. I was contemplating about giving them four stars because everything tasted good for all our dishes, but four stars mean I'd come back again. I would absolutely not come back because I'd rather go to the Poke chains in the desert because they're priced reasonably and they give more. Also at first I was interested in their Chicken Katsu but there's another Chicken Katsu plate lunch in the valley that has an amazing portion size and tastes delicious. I have no reason to come back here. I wouldn't go back to place I paid over $30 dollars at that was stingy with their portions. This is my first time feeling disappointed for the experience and for what I paid. 3 stars because food tasted good, but I have nothing else to say. I've tried the other poke chains in the desert, and this place is ranked last for best portion to price ratio. I can't speak for anything else on the menu but I just don't understand having "Poke" in the restaurant name and sprinkling the protein like a garnish rather than for what it is. It boggles my mind.

Nothing intimidating, just good sushi. Perfect place to surprise my wife at home with sashimi (especially when she's got me in the doghouse). My wife and I love to pre-eat inside the car before heading out somewhere where we know there will not be any actual meals or food we don't care for. I recommend this place.

If you're gonna have lunch in a clothing store, definitely make it Tommy Bahama. Now, to be fair,…read morewhile some locations are attached to a store, this outpost on El Paseo is a completely separate venue, across the street from the clothing and furniture stores, and if you knew nothing about it, you'd never think this lovely restaurant was even related. The vibe is Caribbean chic, with woods and off-white tones to the decor, and a staff that finds the right balance between friendly attentiveness and laidback calm to make you relax and get comfortable. We sat at the bar and were tended to by Mandy (who confirmed she was named for the Manilow song); she was lively and full of suggestions, and kept tabs on us very well. I'll add that the other bartenders were just as friendly when they pitched in, as were the food runners. We were just aiming for a snack, so we ordered the Skillet Biscuits and Lobster Skewers. The biscuits came piping hot and packed with flavor. Flaky and buttery, with a pleasing crown of Maldon salt, they melted in your mouth, and paired perfectly with either of the accompanying spreads. Honey butter was sweet but not too much so, and Pimento Cheese had just the right combination of funk and spice. The Lobster Skewers were light and tasty: the tail of a slipper lobster, split, spiked and grilled over fire, landing with the look and aroma of something that's been through the flames. Served with clarified butter for dipping, the tender lobster meat was fresh and satisfying. But the big surprise was the accompanying Succotash, a vegetable medley I usually dislike and had planned to leave untouched. I decided to try it because it looked so good, and it sure was terrific. Fresh corn and baby squash bathed in lemon and butter, and lightly seasoned, it really was a terrific bite. I should also mention that I ordered a cocktail: the Berry Proper, made with gin, Framboise, lemon and a dash of simple syrup. It was equal parts sweet and tart, and wholly refreshing. It was a light lunch split between two, but it was very tasty, and far more satisfying than the usual sandwich or burger. Kudos to Mandy and the team.
