Found this gem while visiting the Coachella Valley. Like most fine establishments, it's unassuming from the outside and heaven on the inside. We came during happy hour and our server, Delaney, was running the show when we arrived. She was helpful, attentive, friendly and provided excellent service. We ordered an Avocado Flatbread, Candied Walnut and Pear Flatbread, Ahi Sashimi and the Mezcal-Rita. Everything was so good. My guest loved the Avocado Flatbread and I enjoyed the Pear Flatbread. I didn't care for the soft pears on it (a crunchy pear hits) but I would order it again without the pears. The Ahi Sashimi was fresh, beautiful presented and a 12/10. I could easily gone for another plate of this. I asked for the sauces on the side, put my own amount and it was perfect! Mezcal-Rita tasted great and was an excellent size. Barrel District has an amazing Happy Hour and extensive regular menu, including many vegan and vegetarian options, which is rare! Usually you have 1-2 options to choose from and there is something for everyone. Visiting the Coachella Valley for decades has now turned into me moving there in a few short weeks. Another hidden gem in a sense that we found. I'm sure everyone in the desert knows about this place. Tucked in and part of a pretty decent size strip mall, is this place. When we pulled up, the place was packed and busy. They have a nice size patio which was completely full. When we walked in, majority of the tables were taken already and there was a slight wait. Nothing major which did move pretty fast. Checked in with the hostess which she was the sweetest. She mentioned that one of the patio table was available but needed to be cleaned up. We were fine with it. Cynthia who took care of us for dinner was a major doll. The sweetest and so welcoming. She made sure that us and everyone else was well taken cared of and felt like we were all friends hanging out. Amazing customer service on her part. The menu did have a lot of amazing items and inside they also had specials of the day. Started off with a huge cold one. One of the lagers and a nice cold cider. Both were great and nicely recommended. Didn't have any starters as we just wanted to go straight for the entrees. I had two options which I was eyeing and went with what Cynthia had recommended out of the two. The seafood Alfredo with pasta noodles (linguine) with lobster and shrimp in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Plain and simple but very tasty. Nice pieces of shrimps and chunks of lobster. The flavors were amazing. It's a little small on the portion which some maybe ok with. But if you're hungry, it might be a little small. And the seared ahi tuna and avocado salad. Mixed green with of course avocado and seared ahi, red onions, edamame, cucumber, wonton chips and tossed in a sesame ginger dressing. Wow, for a salad it was delicious. Nice chunks of fish and loads of the topping. The dressing was really nice and portion was quite hefty. Both dishes were great and the flavors were excellent. The place was busy throughout our meal with people walking in on rotation. Glad we found a place that was worth the meal and drinks. And really nice customers service. read more

A cozy little place to watch sports and feel at home, the Barrel District offers a menu with tons of options as well as a vegan menu and a doggie menu! We have dined outside with our dogs a few times, a pleasure. The service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are good. Our favorite appetizer is the street corn, and my spouse loves the seafood pizza. Highly recommend. read more

I can hear with my Mom and Dad and Aunt. My Aunt lives in the area and recommended this place. I am sure glad she did! Unfortunately, the food was so good that I never even took photos! This place is located in a strip mall and has inside and outside seating. The inside is great size with a huge bar. You can tell it invites people from Coachella and Stagecoach because they have huge neon signs of them which is super neat. My dad got the Kalua Pork Tacos, I got the Cajun Shrimp Tacos, my mom got the salmon salad and my aunt got the personal pepperoni pizza with artichokes. I am not a shredded pork eater but I tried one of my dad's tacos and it was melt in your mouth delicious! The shrimp tacos were even better! My mom loved her salad and my aunts pizza looked heavenly. The only downside of this establishment is the bathroom smells rancid. I am not sure why but you can tell it's sticky and bleh. Not sure if there is a way to remedy that, but that was the only problem. read more

First visit and had a good experience. We arrived towards the end of the evening, but they were still busy. Rodney found us a seat and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They have an extensive menu, including a large selection of vegan options. Small covered patio in front and lots of indoor seating, including a bar. Plenty of parking in the shopping center's lot. We started with a couple drinks: Upside Down Brown Ale ($8), Georgia Peach Tea ($13), and a Lemon Drop ($13), and a few appetizers: the Mexican Street Corn ($10) and the Ahi Stack ($16.95). Both apps were delicious. For our entrees, we tried the Tres Pork Belly Tacos ($16.95) and the Fish & Chips ($18.95). Again, everything was delicious. Came here for a quick bite and drinks on NYE. It was raining and a little cold, but we decided to sit on the patio since the inside was packed and they moved the heater right next to our table which made it comfortable. I had the Mexican lager, which was delicious, they were out of the hazy IPA my friends wanted to try, but the server suggested another drink which they said it was really good too. We had the supreme 10 inch perfectly cooked, crispy crust and very delicious. Service was exceptional. Our server was great. Accommodating and checked on us frequently. We have visited twice in the last two weeks. Eating earlier is better for us, which aligns with the hours set up for Happy Hour. The Caesar salads are plentiful and delicious. Note to self, remember to say, "no anchovies". We love the pretzel as a starter and the Salmon Tacos are delicious. The kids ordered the Burger & Fries and the Meatball Sandwich & Fries. We came by for happy hour and the variety in the happy hour menu did not disappoint. We came super hungry and ordered right away a bunch of food. I walked into Barrel District with no expectations. Fortunately, the place was packed so that was a good sign. I ordered a margarita pizza to go. A few minutes later, a go cup with a margarita was placed in front of me. After clarifying that I wanted a margarita pizza, I clutched the go cup because that was a mistake that I would gladly enjoy. Although what they call a margarita pizza doesn't look like a margarita, I was willing to dive in anyway. It's a weird looking pie that had a 90s drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I'm a pizza snob but I'll say that, whatever this ingredient combination really should be called, it's good; this in spite of a weak and somewhat stiff pre-made pizza dough. I returned for two more days because they do a very good Baja style fish taco. I topped it off with Moscow Mules and a sticky toffee cake and ice cream combo. They have many specialty pizzas, I tried the arugula with prosciutto and honey...wow what a combination. Tasted great, nice and light and not overbearing. Ceaser salad was fresh and good ceaser sauce. They sneak in a few anchovies and I absolutely love that! But if you don't like anchovies then do ask them to omit because it is an acquired taste. Ridiculously priced. We ordered over the phone a 16 inch pizza with 5 toppings: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives. The toppings were $4.50 EACH, except for the sausage which was $3.75. They took four dollars off (not sure why since a friend handled it) leaving us with a subtotal of $42.70 plus $3.95 tax for a total of $46.65 for a 16 inch pizza. Save your money because it wasn't that great anyways. We ordered another pizza from another place and their toppings were $1.50 each. We (5 women) purposely did this as a comparison and Barrel District failed. The other pizza was a 14 inch so it was slightly smaller, the total was $30.54, and it was way better - way cheesier. This place had something for everyone. The vegan options were plentiful. I had the vegan tostada and it was decent. It was definitely a lot. The vegan dessert tho was delicious. I got it to go and it was worth the wait. The actual restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. I sat out door however the had the mister going. I mentioned it to the person who sat me, to no avail. We went into Barrel District looking for a happy hour drink and pizza to take home. What a fantastic first visit. There was a line to get in but the owner talked us into sitting outside in the front patio. A great idea and the ample heaters kept it comfortable. Actually all in line followed suit. The Ahi stack was delightful and the beer and half price bottle of wine special on Wednesday made the wife very happy. Although the Barrel District was a hoppin' place Friday night, we were seated immediately outside! (Loved the ambiance inside!) Fairly extensive menu with lots of fresh choices. Guests around us were raving about the pizza! I ordered the Tres Tacos a dinner salad and my hubby ordered the Fish and Chips. Both generous servings. The food was fresh and served hot! We would recommend this as a great place to eat, fairly priced with excellent service and fresh food. The salsa* for the tacos was uniquely spicy but delicious. *however, its likely the salsa or salad dressing had an additive which caused a fairly severe histamine reaction within 30 minutes of finishing the meal, and am still experiencing almost 18 hours later. It's been 20 years since I've had to ask about MSG or additives in salads or dressings... but it's a great reminder to do so. Regardless, this is a great place to eat! read more

My husband and I started out by sharing the wedge salad and we added shrimp- these shrimp were fantastic! Then I got the impossi-bowl for my main- I loved that I could get something with beans and quinoa. My husband enjoyed his Hawaiian pizza. That Lady and I had some friends over and we needed a diverse menu of offerings and strictly by chance we selected Barrel District. Well luck was a lady this night! The food offerings are incredible, the staff is great, a top bar and a huge selection of beer. Need we say more? . Their pizzas are killer. They have one of the best tasting pizza crusts this side of the Atlantic. The young lady that makes the pizza dough knows her stuff. We had an incredible 10" vegetarian pizza for and candied walnut and pear flatbread for appetizers. That Lady and I shared a Classic Wedge salad with a shared a killer pasta with filet tips and our guests did fish and chips and the Smokehouse Burger with the House Salad. Our waitress Cynthia was incredible, made sure our beverages were perfect, she saw that are canine companions had water (Yes, they are dig friendly) and her warmth and attention was much appreciated. (For the food snobs: Barrel District is located in a strip center and appears to be a somewhat a sports bar, but trust me they are serious about the food they turnout! The Happy Hour is 7 days a week. PS - Took home an Arugula and Prosciutto Pizza for late night snack. (Two slices didn't make it home). We were visiting Cathedral City for a family vacation when we decided we should order a pizza for dinner. We went on Yelp and came across Barrel District and read the reviews. So we ordered on line a 10" cheese pizza for the kids & a 16" pepperoni, mushroom for adults. We ordered on line the Caesar Salad and the Caprese Salad to share. My son went to pick up the food and came back saying that it was really an awesome place and we need to go there some day to hang out and eat at the restaurant next time. The Pizza was delicious and the crust was perfect. The salads were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place as everyone was happy with the food. We loved this little spot! Decided to stop in last minute when visiting some family on a Friday evening and even tho we were there by 5:30, it was already jam packed. The staff and servers all kept it cool under the chaos, and were friendly and accommodating. We were able to sit outside with the heaters keeping us nice and cozy. We started with some drinks and appetizers, and were surprised and delighted when we noticed their happy hour ran until 6:30. There were 6 of us, we all ordered different drinks and food - martinis, a margarita flight, beers, seafood cocktail, poke nachos, swarmed tuna salad, chicken salad, pizza, etc. and it was all nothing short of amazing.
