I can hear with my Mom and Dad and Aunt. My Aunt lives in the area and recommended this place. I am sure glad she did! Unfortunately, the food was so good that I never even took photos! This place is located in a strip mall and has inside and outside seating. The inside is great size with a huge bar. You can tell it invites people from Coachella and Stagecoach because they have huge neon signs of them which is super neat. My dad got the Kalua Pork Tacos, I got the Cajun Shrimp Tacos, my mom got the salmon salad and my aunt got the personal pepperoni pizza with artichokes. I am not a shredded pork eater but I tried one of my dad's tacos and it was melt in your mouth delicious! The shrimp tacos were even better! My mom loved her salad and my aunts pizza looked heavenly. The only downside of this establishment is the bathroom smells rancid. I am not sure why but you can tell it's sticky and bleh. Another hidden gem in a sense that we found. I'm sure everyone in the desert knows about this place. Tucked in and part of a pretty decent size strip mall, is this place. When we pulled up, the place was packed and busy. They have a nice size patio which was completely full. When we walked in, majority of the tables were taken already and there was a slight wait. Nothing major which did move pretty fast. Checked in with the hostess which she was the sweetest. She mentioned that one of the patio table was available but needed to be cleaned up. We were fine with it. Cynthia who took care of us for dinner was a major doll. The sweetest and so welcoming. She made sure that us and everyone else was well taken cared of and felt like we were all friends hanging out. Amazing customer service on her part. The menu did have a lot of amazing items and inside they also had specials of the day. Started off with a huge cold one. One of the lagers and a nice cold cider. Both were great and nicely recommended. Didn't have any starters as we just wanted to go straight for the entrees. I had two options which I was eyeing and went with what Cynthia had recommended out of the two. The seafood Alfredo with pasta noodles (linguine) with lobster and shrimp in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Plain and simple but very tasty. Nice pieces of shrimps and chunks of lobster. The flavors were amazing. It's a little small on the portion which some maybe ok with. But if you're hungry, it might be a little small. And the seared ahi tuna and avocado salad. Mixed green with of course avocado and seared ahi, red onions, edamame, cucumber, wonton chips and tossed in a sesame ginger dressing. Wow, for a salad it was delicious. Nice chunks of fish and loads of the topping. The dressing was really nice and portion was quite hefty. Both dishes were great and the flavors were excellent. First visit and had a good experience. We arrived towards the end of the evening, but they were still busy. Rodney found us a seat and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They have an extensive menu, including a large selection of vegan options. Small covered patio in front and lots of indoor seating, including a bar. Plenty of parking in the shopping center's lot. We started with a couple drinks: Upside Down Brown Ale ($8), Georgia Peach Tea ($13), and a Lemon Drop ($13), and a few appetizers: the Mexican Street Corn ($10) and the Ahi Stack ($16.95). Both apps were delicious. For our entrees, we tried the Tres Pork Belly Tacos ($16.95) and the Fish & Chips ($18.95). Again, everything was delicious. It was raining and a little cold, but we decided to sit on the patio since the inside was packed and they moved the heater right next to our table which made it comfortable. I had the Mexican lager, which was delicious, they were out of the hazy IPA my friends wanted to try, but the server suggested another drink which they said it was really good too. We came by for happy hour and the variety in the happy hour menu did not disappoint. We came super hungry and ordered right away a bunch of food. The food took a bit to come out, but when the food was ready, they all came out at once. All the food that we ordered were delicious and fresh. The pulled pork on the sandwich was a bit salty. She sat down us next r to the hostess desk on a topper table. We sat, and sat and sat while 4 or five different waitresses, including the owner past our table back-and-forth back-and-forth not one person greeted us not one person smiled at us not one person asked us even for our drink order so disappointed the owner was up and down seem to be busy, but never acknowledged us. I walked into Barrel District with no expectations. Fortunately, the place was packed so that was a good sign. I ordered a margarita pizza to go. A few minutes later, a go cup with a margarita was placed in front of me. After clarifying that I wanted a margarita pizza, I clutched the go cup because that was a mistake that I would gladly enjoy. Although what they call a margarita pizza doesn't look like a margarita, I was willing to dive in anyway. It's a weird looking pie that had a 90s drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I'm a pizza snob but I'll say that, whatever this ingredient combination really should be called, it's good; this in spite of a weak and somewhat stiff pre-made pizza dough. I returned for two more days because they do a very good Baja style fish taco. I topped it off with Moscow Mules and a sticky toffee cake and ice cream combo. That Lady and I had some friends over and we needed a diverse menu of offerings and strictly by chance we selected Barrel District. Well luck was a lady this night! The food offerings are incredible, the staff is great, a top bar and a huge selection of beer. Need we say more? . Their pizzas are killer. They have one of the best tasting pizza crusts this side of the Atlantic. The young lady that makes the pizza dough knows her stuff. We had an incredible 10" vegetarian pizza for and candied walnut and pear flatbread for appetizers. That Lady and I shared a Classic Wedge salad with a shared a killer pasta with filet tips and our guests did fish and chips and the Smokehouse Burger with the House Salad. Our waitress Cynthia was incredible, made sure our beverages were perfect, she saw that are canine companions had water (Yes, they are dig friendly) and her warmth and attention was much appreciated. I consider the Barrel District's gourmet pizzas to be especially delicious. The crust is perfectly crispy, exactly as it should be. We went into Barrel District looking for a happy hour drink and pizza to take home. What a fantastic first visit. There was a line to get in but the owner talked us into sitting outside in the front patio. A great idea and the ample heaters kept it comfortable. Actually all in line followed suit. The Ahi stack was delightful and the beer and half price bottle of wine special on Wednesday made the wife very happy. Came to this spot for easy going pizza and beer. First thing I noticed is really friendly chill staff, perfect vibes. They have many specialty pizzas, I tried the arugula with prosciutto and honey...wow what a combination. Tasted great, nice and light and not overbearing. Ceaser salad was fresh and good ceaser sauce. They sneak in a few anchovies and I absolutely love that! But if you don't like anchovies then do ask them to omit because it is an acquired taste. Wings were on point, we got the Buffalo and they hit the spot. Not too hot, maybe 5 out of 10 heat. Although the Barrel District was a hoppin' place Friday night, we were seated immediately outside! (Loved the ambiance inside!) Fairly extensive menu with lots of fresh choices. Guests around us were raving about the pizza! I ordered the Tres Tacos a dinner salad and my hubby ordered the Fish and Chips. Both generous servings. The food was fresh and served hot! We would recommend this as a great place to eat, fairly priced with excellent service and fresh food. The salsa* for the tacos was uniquely spicy but delicious. *however, its likely the salsa or salad dressing had an additive which caused a fairly severe histamine reaction within 30 minutes of finishing the meal, and am still experiencing almost 18 hours later. It's been 20 years since I've had to ask about MSG or additives in salads or dressings... but it's a great reminder to do so. Regardless, this is a great place to eat! read more

While, on a staycation in Palm Springs, looking for a new place to eat. We found the Barrel Station on Yelp. When we read the vegan menu and the reviews we were sold. The service over the phone and in person were excellent. We wanted pizza and for a vegan diet cheese is everything, so I called ahead to see what type of cheese they served. The gal that answered the phone got one of the cooks to come and tell me about the blend that they use. (Nice) My husband decided on the vegan buffalo burger and I had vegan pizza with mushrooms and vegan sausage. Both items were really yummy. The burger was juicy with a yummy pretzel bun and American cheese. The pizza had a delicious crust, creamy cheese and loads of sausage and mushrooms. I ordered it with a side of marinara and chef's kiss. The ambience is nice with great music playing softly, light bulbs centerpieces as candles all around, TV with current sports, warm and rustic spot. We loved this little spot! Decided to stop in last minute when visiting some family on a Friday evening and even tho we were there by 5:30, it was already jam packed. The staff and servers all kept it cool under the chaos, and were friendly and accommodating. We were able to sit outside with the heaters keeping us nice and cozy. We started with some drinks and appetizers, and were surprised and delighted when we noticed their happy hour ran until 6:30. There were 6 of us, we all ordered different drinks and food - martinis, a margarita flight, beers, seafood cocktail, poke nachos, swarmed tuna salad, chicken salad, pizza, etc. and it was all nothing short of amazing. I had heard good things about the food, so I was excited to try, when invited by a new friend. The space is a little cramped (more on that later.) He arrived before I did, but I didn't see him, so I was seated closer to the front, next to a table with 3 ladies of a certain age. We were quickly greeted by a waiter, who brought a carafe of water. I didn't see the specials, but they were on a sandwich board near the door. I asked the waiter if he would choose the fish and chips or one of the burgers. His response was an emphatic fish and chips. My friend asked for a pasta dish that was on special. The fish was covered with a very thick beer batter. I had to peel away 75% of it because it was too much. The fish inside was cooked well, though. I ate some of the fries. My iced tea was never empty. My friend's pasta dish was very garlic-forward and salty. He said that it was almost inedible because of the level of salt. But, he did like the ingredients and overall concept of the dish. My friend and I are of Mexican descent. The ladies next to us were not. Because of the proximity of their table to ours, we could hear them and they could hear us. One lady grabbed her purse and clutched it to her chest, the entire meal, once we sat down. Ok, no big deal. But, I heard them have some conversations about the "illegals" and "criminals" that had "infiltrated" the Valley. So, I began speaking about my underground railroad for getting undocumented workers connected to resources for citizenship. I even spoke about an apartment building that I had purchased in the area to house these immigrants. (None of this is true, but I wanted to see their reaction.) Despite pretending they weren't listening, they shot me dirty looks and immediately asked for the check. Buh bye ladies. Teach you to be nosy and judgmental. We came here because of the vegan menu and non vegan menu options. I was happy to see that the happy hour menu also had vegan options. I ordered the Plant Based Buffalo Avocado Burger with the vegan aioli on the side (Plant based patty topped with a vegan buffalo aioli, vegan cheese, avocado, arugula, tomato & red onion on a vegan bun) and it's Served with a side of french fries for $13.95. Wanted to try the vegan district supreme pizza (Tomato sauce, vegan mozzarella cheese, vegan pepperoni, vegan sausage, green bell peppers, onion, tomato, mushroom & olives) for $19.95. I was a little disappointed with our server because 1) She kept suggesting non-vegan options for me even though I told her that I was vegan. 2) she told me there were no more French fries, but asked kitchen and said there was enough for one more. When I received it, she didn't mention that they only had sweet potato fries left. I don't like sweet potato fries. I ended up giving it to my girlfriend. 3) menu says there are vegan sweet treats daily, but there was none served today. Other disappointments: my burger was missing avocado, and my girlfriend was not a fan of her burger or her salad. I forgot that it came with avocado until I read the menu again and the NAME of the burger. The watermelon margarita was tasty and my girlfriend liked her drink. There's one gender neutral bathroom. Arrived 4:15 Waited 15 min for server to appear. She said sorry, I was busy answering the phone. Ordered drinks. Took 10 min to receive them. A table of four was seated next to us about 10 min after we were seated. They received their drinks before us. And their food came 20 min bf ours. It took forever to get our food. We ordered chicken wings as appetizer and it came with our entrees. Appetizer people!! My ahi was cooked correctly, but there it was, alone on a bed of greens. No dressing. Unfortunately, the last two times I dined at Barrel District I ordered sparkling wine. Flat. No bubbles. So they opened a new bottle. A bartender and server should know that it was flat! We were there to celebrate a birthday. The server knew. She knew how her service was inept. She never acknowledged the birthday. How embarrassing that we took our friends there to celebrate. Never will we return. And we are spreading the word about how truly bad Barrel District is.
