Great service & great prices with generous portions. I really like the way this restaurant is ran. It's sort of a combination of Chinese Vietnamese. They have Pho, which a lot of Americans are trying now. A very relaxing ambiance in which to enjoy a meal. I shall return!

The food is good, flavorful, colorful and fresh. Service is polite and quick. This is the secondary fast casual restaurant in the casino. Sadly slow due to the advertisement focusing on their other restaurant. However, every time I go to Spotlight service at the other restaurant has been poor and I don't wanna go in there just because of the service. They have updated the menu, adding more hot food as it used to be only Ramen. The choices are better and you don't have to worry about the service. The food is really really good a little pricey, but it's tucked away in the corner to the right of the entrance. It doesn't get a lot of traffic, but if you want to avoid the crowds, the waits, and the poor service of the main restaurant, this is the spot to come to. It's like a cafeteria, which I think is contributing to the lack of guests.

Tried the BBQ pork ribs and BBQ pork at Malie...so tough you couldn't eat them. Needed a steak knife to get the meat off the bone. Won't order those ever again. Pork was dry.

So much potential. Cannot give them three stars because the broth was pretty good. Cannot give them five stars because I walked away vowing to never return. Please please please please please sell a dark meat Pho Ga or a simple large bowl of pho for $15 dollars. Twenty bucks for a small bowl of broth and some misc meat is like receiving an unexpected swift kick to the groin. Groin kick is not even the issue, the true issue is the unexpected swiftness of the kick coming from your kitchen. If you want repeat customers, entice your customers with more broth and more protein like chicken and misc beef cuts. Oxtail is overkill, I'm not paying you $5 dollars extra for oxtail. No way, Jose.!!!!

So much oil in this pho!!

We were looking for something to have for dinner after a long trip and decided to stop by this casino for the first time! Dinner before gambling. We checked out the menu for the pub but we weren't quite craving American food so we came across this Asian kitchen. The place was set up like a cafeteria but it was still a restaurant? We started ordering at one and of the bar and paid at the end. They still bring you your food to your table. I proceeded to order the beef ball pho since I haven't had pho in a hot minute and it was the perfect weather for it! My bf got the Szechuan chicken and the lady told him it was very spicy and sounded like a warning? Like maybe he couldn't handle it? After paying, we sat down at our table and shortly after, the manager brought our food out. The Szechuan chicken wasn't spicy at all.. it was mild if anything. I'm TERRIBLE with spice and I was able to handle this AND the flavor was amazing! Glad we ordered it. The pho however was definitely not authentic and you can tell just by the broth. It was pure oil! I took my spoon to try some of the broth and all I was getting was oil. It was so gross and such a turn off!! I was pretty bummed but I still drenched it in lime and hoisin sauce. The noodles were great but also they gave me a fork which was a bit odd. For a place called "Asian kitchen" you would think they'd automatically give you chopsticks and you'd have to ask for a fork but this was not the case. Pretty bummed and wish I could've enjoyed this place more but the Szechuan chicken (and later we ordered fried rice since we were still hungry) were the only good things we got out of it. Which tbh is pretty promising! Maybe they just don't make good pho but makes everything else good? Please work on your pho broth... no one wants to be slurpin on oil.. I felt a layer of oil on my lips after eating my noodles and had to wipe it down after every bite. Definitely willing to try this place again though, next time we're in that casino. IG: @ammysalamii

    Lobster Poke Bowl

I'm not much of an Asian Food Foodie but I was hungry one night after 9pm and I didn't feel like sitting in a crowded & noisy restaurant. I stumbled upon Malie Asian Kitchen because it was inside Spotlight 29 Casino. I may not know much about Poke Bowls, Vietnamese Pho, Ramen, Wonton, and Rice Plates but I KNOW fresh food when I eat it. The friendly staff instructed me on how to make my own Lobster Poke Bowl. Instead of rice, I opted for fresh salad as my base. Added in we're chunks of Lobster, Avocado, cucumber, pickled ginger and topped with green onions. You decide which ingredients you want and the type of dressing. You get to add 6 ingredients to the Bowl. I added an order of egg rolls and I was in a little heaven of my own. Since that night, I come here when I want fresh tasty food in a clean and comfortable setting. They're open daily to 11pm.

Pho Dac Biet, 2 huge oxtail cross sections in there. That's new to me. That bowl is $19.95. One size. The beer $7.00

To preface, pho is one of my favorites. I have had the spicy pho with cubed gelatinous blood. My real faves are tripe and tendon. So... It was getting to be lunchtime and I saw a "wat the pho" billboard on the I-10 and that 10' bowl of soup looked awesome. So it said spotlight 29, so gps took me there. I did not know the name of the restaurant so I asked for wat the pho. I was directed to Malie's asian restaurant. Go to the right once you enter the sliding glass doors. I was greeted and I walked up to place my order pho Dai biet, but had doubts about oxtails in the soup. I thought I would be adventurous so (only one size soup) and an import beer is now $30. Yup. Found my seat and enjoyed the beer and here it comes. 4 spicy condiments and a plate with holy basil, sliced spicy jalapeños, bean sprouts, and a sachet of hoisin sauce. See pic. Combined the basil, peppers and bean sprouts and did the magic, meanwhile combining hot chili, hot oil and hosin sauce. Stirred the mixture but could not get use to the look of oxtail in soup. 2 generous sections were presented but I fished them out even though the outer meat was tender. I felt that the noodles were a little done (soft almost mushy). Maybe they were frozen and in for long storage or over boiled. Meatballs were sliced in half, and I'm used to whole. Scarce on tendon and anything else. The oxtail is the filler. I was truly disappointed with the meal, but the fella that was serving and bussing was working at double time. The place was tidy. If I come back it won't be for pho. There are other options. I was taken by a roadside billboard. Nice place, pricey, and missed on taste.

Several patrons were enjoying their meal as well as a few people who sat at the bar having drinks. Our server was very polite and attentive. The chutney complimented it very nicely. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not greasy nor dry. When duck is available on a menu, I always order it. Duck is one of my favorite dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size was ample, enough to make a meal for the following day. The duck was accompanied by an orange glaze and a side of rice. My Aunt thoroughly enjoyed the crispy shrimp which also came on a bed of rice. We ordered the garlic spinach to share. The one disappointment was that green tea ice cream was not available. My Aunt opted for vanilla ice cream. A slice of white cake was offered complimentary as a birthday treat. I sipped on a glass of Merlot. Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing evening. They also have a full bar now, so there are many more options for libations while you eat. We arrived right on time for our 6PM reservation and we were seated at the outdoor table we pined for. The weather and the setting definitely started this dinner with a positive outlook. We were a party of five, with three of us ordering different Taco alternatives. I requested the Shrimp, my wife asked for the Salmon and our daughter selected Filet Mignon. The flavor of all the Tacos was out of this world, as the ingredients and the sauces involved within those corn tortillas meshed together magically. I will say that paying $20 for two small tacos that weren't PACKED was a little bit of a RIP. The other two guests in our party went for two different types of Pizza. They both boxed a slice or two to take home. As sides, we had two orders of Truffle Fries and one of the Brussel Sprouts. Both were phenomenal but the veggies could have been more plentiful. To go with our dinners, my wife and I brought our own Meadowcroft GSM that generated two surprises for us. One was how great it accompanied what we ingested, the other was the $30 corkage on the bill. To round out the night out, my daughter shared a Sundae-Sundae with the other guests. Being able to get out to see new restaurants once a month is a gift, and most of what we experienced was a HUGE thumbs up. We just felt like what was provided in a casual setting was a little overpriced. This will not be on a future "to do" list.
