Went here again with friends that live nearby. It was prime rib night and wow it did not disappoint. Two different cuts but both large. Came with baked potato and a salad and of course bread. Fish and chips so hot and delicious. Fries great flavor and everything super hot. We also brought our own wine and corkage is $10. Best prime rib I have had in the desert. read more

went to Shadow restaurant on a thursday nigh and they were super busy, they have live music on Thursdays. The hostess was able to seat us on the Patio and it was a beautiful spot. Was happy hour and we ordered a couple of the food special items, the shrimp tacoos and the bbq ribs were desicious. Maggie our server was wonderful she took her time to answer all the questions we had on the menue. Will definitly go back. read more

I am so sorry to write this review. We have loved this place so much, but something with the menu has just gone wrong. They have taken off so many good items and now have breakfast for dinner and lunch foods for dinner and they are just not good. The actual dinner choices are minimal. When you go to dinner you want dinner! (They have daily specials which is great but you can only eat the same thing so many times). The wedge salad, egg rolls, pizza for a quick take out, are very missed. I had the soup the other day and it was chicken, carrots and broccoli in broth and thats it. It was not good. I hope someone brings back a better menu again because we really like this place. Just disappointed. read more

Wonderful place in private living community where my girlfriend lives in Palm Desert. Indoor and outdoor seating. This day we sat outside in a partially sunny spot. The view was relaxing. I ordered chicken tenders and sweet potato fries with an Arnold Palmer. The chicken was tender and hot with three generous size portions. The sweet potato fries were a little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like them. My friends ordered a Reuben sandwich and onion rings and a French dip sandwich. There's a new chef in town and the food does not disappoint!! Was there for breakfast yesterday and had one of the best frittatas ever! It was deliciously gourmet and a pleasant surprise--HOT (possibly cooked in cast iron?) My husband had the prime rib hash and said it was wonderful! He also had lunch with golf buddies last week and all remarked how great all the food was! Tried a breakfast burrito this morning that was also very tasty! We had a GREAT dinner before enjoying Comedy Night at the Montecito! We had excellent service, the food was served hot and we were treated like VIPS. I had the French Dip and my friend had the chicken bowl which both were delicious! I would highly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Plus try out their Happy Hour menu, too! Went this past Tuesday around 12:20pm with the ladies from Bible study. I had never been to this place. As I am arriving staff was really friendly. They were wonderful for having our table ready when we arrived. There was about 10-12 of us. & another group of ladies from church sat next to us, about 10-12 of them as well. The lady who served us was really nice and attentive. The food took a little to come out but we all had out food come out at the same time. I ordered the club sandwich with sweet potato fries! Really good, 8 out of 10. If def come back to try more of their foods. A friend from our group actually lives on their property, and says all their food options are good. We live in this community so we like to support our restaurant. The Lakeview Salad is my absolute favorite! Every cocktail I've had has been good and even a most excellent dirty martini. I'm normally very positive person. But, at this time, I had to write something here since I was told the manager was too busy to come out. It began with no one answered my a few calls to order foods for to go. When I arrived Jessica was at the front counter with no customer but not answering calls while I was there. Her excuse was the restaurant is too busy. I ordered foods to go for golfing at 11am. My tee time was in 30 mins and she said it will take 30 mins or so for my foods. I ordered my foods for 1:30pm pick-up, after 9th hole. My front line ended early and came to the restaurant at 12:50pm. I was updated that my foods were going to be ready in 10 more mins. I waited 10 mins and plus another 10 mins. Since I was so behind for golf at 10th hole, I asked about my foods again. She said that it would be ready by 1:30pm, as my original order. So now I'm guessing that she didn't change the order. I ended up canceling my order after wait for 30 mins. I was behind for golf. No breakfast or lunch after that much of waiting. I couldn't continue with golf cause I was too upset about the situation and her service. Plus, I was told the manger was too busy at the back. Would anyone come for food to pick-up for golf if they are too busy to take care of dine-in only? lol read more

Inconsistent in their inconsistence. This is a community restaurant that suffers from the lack of a real restaurant professional running it. It has good days and bad days with their menu and their service runs hot and cold. It's too bad because there was a time when this establishment was quite good. A return to a qualified management team would go a long way in fixing their problems. Until then there are far too many other alternatives nearby. read more

We had a nice dinner at Shadows Friday night we ordered Clam Chowder and Salmon they were very good, the salmon was one the best dishes I ever had, it was cooked to perfection by Chef Octavio (I had to find out who prepared) the rice and veggies were very good also, this meal came with desert cheesecake, good price point. I'm so disappointed by the quality of food over the past few weeks. We have always enjoyed our meals and the beautiful view. Unfortunately, our experience with the new prime rib dinner on Saturday was totally subpar. Everything came out lukewarm at best, the whipped potatoes were definitely from a mix, so not fresh, and the meat was slightly off-tasting, reminiscent of cleaning solution. I wish I could write a rave review since we live here and we've always loved eating here! So, we went back for our favorite breakfasts. I ordered the meat lovers omelette, which is usually packed full of sausage, ham, and bacon - delicious! However, my omelette came out filled with chopped ham that had tons of gristle, and next to no sausage and zero bacon. This seems to coincide with the onboarding of the new chef. Such a huge disappointment. We really want this to be great, but it just is not. Hopefully, things will improve (with fingers crossed). read more

While visiting Indio Ca we had a chance Shadows Restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and the view from the window is excellent however the tables are only setup for four people and we had a party of five. Apparently the engineers were off that day and they couldn't push two tables together without them. Also, we arrived at 10:50 and had to wait until 11 in order to order french fries. I have to assume that the cook in charge of french fries doesn't show up for work until then before deciding to eat here you must decide whether you're going to have breakfast or lunch. Breakfast menu stops exactly at 11 and the lunch menu does not start until exactly 11. No carryovers allowed. I give this establishment a three rating for food and service. Whoever is managing this facility. Should be a little more accommodating to the people that eat there. read more

This restaurant is an enigma. It's part of Del Webb's Sun City Shadow Hills but it wants to be a public venue. The problem is that the restaurant is under built, causing a definite barrier to success. However, the menus are interesting but limited. And the food and service are usually good. read more

The food at Shadows is adequate, with the possible exceptions of special nights, the service is always good, and the ambiance can't be beat!

Enjoyed delicious appetizers that included calamari, and chunks of perfectly grilled filet mignon along with thin, crunchy onion rings. The food was delicious, so was the wine, and the service and golf course view was great! Will definitely visit our community restaurant again. read more

After eating at Shadows many times our last meal was last night. Our bill was $39.53 , I put a $50 bill in the little black folder that contained the bill . We waited for 22 minutes and the server never returned with my change . I asked to speak to the manager , never saw him . So I called security , they never showed up. I got the message , rotten food , lousy service , then keeping my change then avoiding my request to speak to the manager , then the security never arrived.
