Extremely delicious. The tator tots were perfect. Crisp on the outside and so soft on the inside!! I was extremely shocked at how good my meal was even when it was a simple dish ! I also got pancakes and they were extremely delicious! I was caught so off guard by this hidden restaurant! The service was great and it was so easy to find !

We have wanted to come here for a long time since moving to Palm Desert, a couple of years ago…read more My Son, the Navy Veteran really enjoys coming in for coffee and pastry before heading over to CSU where he works. We arrived at 8 AM on Thursday and sat near the front of the restaurant. There were three other tables occupied at the time. I really enjoyed the Bees' Knees latte. My husband enjoyed his latte and my son had iced coffee. Beverages are served in unique and very pretty porcelain teacups. We ordered the Bananas Foster waffle with sausage patties, the half order of prosciutto avocado toast with eggs on the side, and my son had the chilaquiles. This is the kind of place where you can savor an old time atmosphere with many things to see as you enjoy conversation. This is not a fast food restaurant. The staff are warm and friendly. The half order of prosciutto avocado toast was really delicious. The bread was lovely and dense and could have been toasted a little bit lighter for ease in cutting through the vegetables. (This was easily the perfect size for a meal, and the whole order is equally beautiful and generous.) My husband is still swooning over his lovely waffle and sausage patties. He gave his dish a solid 4 stars and talked about it all the way home. My son had chosen the red chilaquiles which had just the right spice level. The place filled up steadily until we left about an hour and a half later. We have a patio outside, which is receiving a new sunshade and lights. Mona the owner explained to us that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They will be serving dinner. She was warmly greeted by people who are obviously regulars to the café. We look forward to coming back soon because it was very difficult to make a decision on the menu and everything looks so good.

The cinnamon roll is…read morenontraditional as it comes looking like a cake slice and the frosting is dripped over the sides. The roll itself is so fluffy and even with it sitting on the counter for a few hours (it was already 3pm when I picked up the roll.) It was still so fresh, the frosting tasted like it had just been whipped with cream cheese and it wasn't dry at all. The server stated to place it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds but it honestly didn't need to be warmed because it was so fresh, perfectly balanced and just the right amount of cinnamon. Yes, it was $8 but it was so worth the price tag given I ate the roll for two days and it was still great. The sides were a little hard on day two but it was sitting out.

The wait itself to be seated was 10 minutes. The host at the front seemed to be either having a bad day, or was improperly suited for that position. After we got the text that we were ready to be seated, we had to almost "bother" him to get him to notice us. Once we got to our table, the menu jumped out and we knew we had to share a Sky's the Limit. We placed our order, and then we proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our food to be brought out to us. Another couple seated before us ended up walking out as their food never arrived. While the wait itself was bad, once our food arrived we were able to finally enjoy the place we had remembered from years prior. My big complaint was that the bacon for our meal arrived entirely overcooked, almost burned to a crisp, and was not edible. We had to flag down another server to help take care of this for us, and while the replacement bacon came out right away, it too wasn't great. Maybe bacon just isn't their strong suit? The waiter for our table also seemed to disappear after our order arrived, which was a bummer, but it did not distract us enough from the quality of our meal. The biscuit was perfect. The chewy and tender mix was exactly what we wanted and overall made for the highlight of the meal. The Blackberry custard French toast was also the perfect amount of sweet paired with the meal. Inside, tables do seem to be scrunched together. It is not a big place after all, so just be mindful of where you sit. I ended up losing count of the number of times my feet were bumped, and my right shoulder/arm tapped. All those issues aside, we enjoyed our visit and will return again. Maybe the fault was with us for being there while on Father's Day, but that was unplanned. Overall, good food (minus the bacon) and good way to end our vacation.

When you enjoy a dish there and want to have it again rest assured it is the same fabulous taste as your initial time! We have had steaks, pastas, salads ,, pizza and wines and I have loved every dish I tried. The short ribs are luscious . My favorite salad is the beet salad. Always so fresh and so many flavors in one salad! The Pork Chop is excellent too. It's difficult to find a Chef who can get a pork chop just right. This chef nails it everytime!! There is a little area with high top tables Where one can catch a ball game and also one tv in one of the eating areas but they are not at all intrusive. There typically not many children when we are there but when they have been they have been well mannered at very young ages and they make dining fun! I have no negatives which is highly unusual for me (just ask my husband!!)wonderful overall experience. If you want a bit more time between courses just tell your waiter. FOOD PREP: Very well done, like professional in just how it looks. FOOD QUALITY: Professional in how it also tastes... Watermelon Gazpacho was perfect with drinks prior to main. The service was great and friendly, and willing to seat us even an hour before closing their lunch hours and giving us lots of time and patience and never let our waters get low either! Their coffee is french press, and they offer fresh pressed juices too. They brought the french press pot to the table so you could press and refill your own cup as needed. We got grapefruit & watermelon, and both were refreshing and cooling. We ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast croissant, the breakfast sandwich, and the salmon crepe. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I found the salmon crepe to be really delicious, served with a jammy egg, a generously sized portion of salmon on a bed of spinach with some creme fraiche all wrapped in a delicious crepe wrap. I've never had anything quite like it. Also major compliments to the simple but refreshing side salad that came with each of our breakfasts, but we were also given the option of potatoes or mixed berries. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area looking for a good spot to have brunch.

Which they normally alway have one. And it was Father's Day so we expected it to be quite busy. There was one person in-front of me when checking in with the hostess. It was going to be about half an hour for a table under first available. They take your number and text you when your table is ready with a 10 min grace period to get back. It did table about half hour till we received the text. This visit, we got seated inside which was a first for us. Majority of the restaurant is outside with covered umbrellas and small sections in the inside area with different rooms. Our waitress was quite sweet but didn't remember her name. Menu is pretty much same as I remember from last time. Of course the Bloody Mary is always a must here. Started off with that. Food wise, the andouille sausage omelette served with potatoes or a salad and avocado. That also comes with a side of baguette. And the baked brie platter which is a shared starter. But works also a meal if needed. A nice hefty portion of baked Brie with hazelnuts, both ciabatta bread and Asian pear as well as date jam. And a side order of bagel and cream cheese. Food was good. We've only been for brunch and each visit was great. Dinner is a prix fix menu which we have never been. Service was great and the staffs were all very friendly. Water was constantly filled when it was emptied. Until next time.
