    Chili Cheese Fries

Great mom & pop restaurant. Quickly stopped by and they were to nice and fast service! Chili Cheese fries were so cheesy and the flavor was great! Definitely recommend to check out this hidden gem!

    The entrance

Stopped here on our way through the Coachella Valley. We felt very lucky to find this little restaurant. The food was amazing.. between three of us. We had a taquito plate with rice and beans. We had a pastrami sandwich and we had chili cheese fries. I am sincerely passionate about my food and it was delicious. I didn't realize it until I was editing my review, but they closed at five. I'm pretty sure we got there after five and they still took us in. Thank you very much to the employees who went above and beyond and let us in and fed us. We had a very long work week away from our families, and got a flat tire that delayed and turned our normally 3hr drive into a 6 hr adventure. We are so grateful for your business.

Typical small town old age restaurant. Very friendly quick service. Quality of food not the best. The menu has no modern items. Steak was rubberish and the sourdough lacking the sourdoughness. Eggs n hash browns adequate. The mens restroom goes nutz if you turn the hot water on. Close to the stater bros coachella shuttle.

This place is a concert goer's best kept secret.....until now. I've been coming here for breakfast while in town for Coachella the past two years and I have nothing bad to say about this place! we get shuttled to the stater brother's in the same plaza from festival grounds and we always come here as early as possible to grab breakfast before the crowd arrives. the people here are super nice and attentive. the service is absolutely phenomenal. they have so much patience for concert goers, even the rowdy ones. the food is delicious and reasonably priced. i've never had anything else other than breakfast so i cant review anything but what i've had. they have a variety of omelets to choose from and also your typical diner breakfast selections. i usually order omelets because it's really a complete meal in one. you can also create your own omelet with your choice of fillings. i did that once and was very pleased with my food. you will be spending approximately $10 per person including drinks when dining here. they have TV's that typically display the news. there are plenty of seating in the dining area. the only thing i dont like is that there is only one bathroom ( 1 for men and 1 for women). when it gets crowded, especially from the concert crowds, everyone's fighting to use it since it's a luxury for us compared to the campgrounds porta pottys. awesome place, great food, fabulous staff! just dont tell anyone else ;)

Had brunch while waiting for my tire to be installed next door at America's tires. I actually really appreciate the Maxcy's in La Quinta. I was surprised they were so different. The interior is kinda sad, in need of an update. Lots of mirrored shapes decorating the walls. The girls working appeared to be understaffed. They were hustling but a bit stressed. We ordered coffee and asked for water. It showed up 15 minutes later. My son's burger was good, mind you what I ordered wasn't the best thing to review a place on, the salad was good but the soup was out of a can. I couldn't eat it. I think my expectations were that it would be as good as the other location so it threw me. We won't be coming back to this one.

And they did not disappoint! Wow! Seriously, not a pancake fan, but these were great! I ordered a side of sausage patties, another breakfast item I prefer over sausage links, and they were also very tasty. The place was busy, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes on a Saturday late morning. I'm sure Sundays are PACKED! The service was top notch and friendly. The wait staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing--my coffee and water were constantly refilled without even having to ask, which always makes a difference. I ordered the BLTA along with their German pancake. The BLTA was exactly what you want--crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, creamy avocado, all put together on toasted bread, and paired perfectly with seasoned fries. Now the standout: the German pancake. Just a heads up--it takes about 15-20 minutes to come out, but it's 100% worth the wait. It's served hot, puffed up, and finished with powdered sugar and lemon. Light, slightly crisp on the edges, and soft in the middle--really well done. Overall, great food, great service, and a relaxed vibe. Definitely a place I'd come back to

We were seated promptly and a server was by quickly. We ordered and the food came out in a reasonable time frame. I had Date Pancakes and loved them. I'd eat at the Cafe at Shields Date Garden the next time were's in the area. Tip - go earlier in the morning for the cool weather as it can get pretty warm eating outside. So let me begin by saying that my husband & I have been regular customers as in at least twice a month since last summer. When we dine here we always give a 25% to 30% tip to the server. There have been times they didn't deserve it but we leave it never the less because we frequent the restaurant and want to honor the servers working there. The last two times before today have not been as good as usual but we decided to go here for lunch today. Hubby got a cheese omelet and I ordered the Shield's Signature Salad. We also ordered two coffees. It is like pulling teeth to get a coffee refill here. This is a regular occurrence where we have to ask for more coffee. Our food arrives and I notice that my husband's plate was sloppy and the omelette much smaller than usual. On my salad was unpeeled mango slices. I had to peel the skin off in order to be able to eat them! Anyone who cooks knows that the skin peels right off a ripe mango. Apparently however makes the salads is too lazy to do that! The pear was unripe and hard as a rock on the salad so it was not edible. The mango was ripe and after I peeled the skin off it was edible. The entire salad however was drenched in salad dressing! It had twice the amount of dressing on it that it should have had making it totally inedible. I called the server over and showed him the mango and let him know that I tried to eat the mango with the skin and you cannot chew it! He argued with me, brought back another plate of sliced mango that still had the peel on it!! He continued to argue. Then he took off and when I went to eat the salad there was just too much dressing on it. I asked the helper there who was assisting him to take the salad as I could not eat it as it was. They asked if I wanted something else but my husband was half way done and honestly, I lost my appetite so I said no. Had to ask for coffee again. When the server came by I flagged him down & asked for the check. When he brought it I tried to explain about the mango and the salad and he was super rude and just not interested. First time I ever left a dollar for a tip! I wrote on the check & I quote; "when you aren't interested at all in what your customers have to say you are lucky to receive a dollar!" They seem to just care about the tourists and not the regulars! So guess what...these regulars will not be back. We were regulars who always tipped well and we didn't deserve that treatment. NEVER again and this time I mean it. The dirty silverware and sticky coffee cup are bad enough but the nasty service they can keep w/o us going there again!

It was pretty good though, and I like how they put the marinara sauce at the bottom For entrées we got the rotisserie chicken and the Latin surf and turf. The rotisserie chicken was cooked well and the steak was good. The lobster however, was Baja lobster and that is neither my preference for my husband's but we did eat it with the steak and it was fine. The mashed potatoes were good that came with the rotisserie chicken. The rice and beans that came with the steak and lobster were pretty good. For dessert we got the mango cheesecake and the apple pie à la mode. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the exceptional service by the food runner and water refill guy ....didn't get his name.
