Place is amazing after one has hiked in 99 degrees weather at Anza State Park lol There was no food nearby as we kinda drove up along the coast of Salton for the hell of it. So def convenient. It's connected to the market as well which is nice and handy and they have all sorts of things that one might need for a pit stop. Got the classic Avo Cheeseburger and Mushroom Swiss with added avo. It wasn't bad, just wish the buns were toasted a bit more. The avo portions was huge so I do like that. Staff was also very prompt and nice! I have been to the location in Cathedral City as well and they are both really good. :) I place my order over the phone and once I arrive the food is ready. My go to is the breakfast burrito with ham, bacon and sausage! It is really big, I share mine with my hubby, it has really good flavor! I have also tried the fries, the fried zucchini and onion rings! All really good. You have to try them with their ranch, it is delish! (I forgot to take pics, we were on a road trip, so we ate while driving). The staff is friendly, they are a little busy but are quick at taking the orders out! When you live in the middle of no where your limited on where you can go for fast food. I have been putting off reviewing this place because it's decent. I normally get the chicken salad but change it up with the fried chicken plate sometimes. Today I decided to try the steak salad and let's just say I will never order it again. It's bad enough that usually the lettuce is sitting in water that has to be drained off especially if you're not going to eat it right away. As per usual I had to drain off the water but my biggest issue is the amount of fat and gristle they put on my salad. Clumps of fat mixed in with the salad is something I'm just not down with. Also it is just the pre-bagged iceberg mix. I'm not sure if they just have it floating in water and scoop it out and throw it strait in the container or what but be prepared to add paper towels or napkins to the container no matter which salad you choose and flip to drain, as well as there will be some turned lettuce you will need to pick out. read more

Getting that late night craving, I decided to give Chelo's Burger a try. I got there at 8:40 PM and I did not realized that they closed at 9PM. Even though it was almost closing time, the employees still kept a smile and took my order and cooked it fresh and quick! My first time being here, I chose their Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger with fries. It came with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions, thousand island dressin, cheese and one beef patty. Man, the burger was good and juicy! I enjoyed every bite of it! Good place to grab a nice and juicy burger. Hopefully ill be back soon to try more of their items on the menu! read more

Carne Asada Burritos Chelo's in Mecca has great menudo and offers red oil chile which makes it BOMB! I visit this location once or twice a week. They have crushed ice just like at Sonic for cheaper. I've had their breakfast muffins and breakfast burrito also their carne asada burrito all super delicious. The gals have good customer service skills and usually the wait is not too bad. Although it is labeled as a Mexican food spot (which it is), they also have a very wide variety of choices. Things like Club Sandwiches, Onion Rings, Burgers, Carnea Asada Burrito, etc. Also, an all day breakfast menu that didn't look half bad... A guy next to me had steak and eggs for lunch and it looked rather tasty! The only photo for this location was taken by me, of what I got. The ever illusive double cheese burger and fries with a coke. The burger "with everything" has lettuce, tomato, chopped onions and thousand island dressing. The burger was VERY GOOD, but very very greasy... But hey, if that's what your into! Big portions too! I'm a big cat and couldn't finish my whole meal. Now, why you may ask, did I only rate it a three? Service: Very slow, waiting at the register as the people talked in the back right in front of me for about 3 minutes. Price: I paid $9 for the entire meal. Now yes that's not all that bad, but there is a Del Taco about 30 yards away that I could get the same meal for 6$. CLEANLINESS!!!!: The table I was eating on was not cleaned (none were) and there was more than once occasion where a fly either landed on my table, head, or FOOD! Food can be hit-or-miss sometimes very good sometimes not so much Their hamburger patties are tough Around October or November of 2016 they said they were going to add a $0.75 surcharge for all debit card and credit card orders so I quit going here unless I had cash I used to enjoy getting breakfast here particularly pancakes and their pork sausage which was pretty tasty but now that Denny's has opened right next door their food Denny's food puts Chelos food to shame read more

If you tip at time of order the Very Friendly Staff will take Very good care of you. If you're a smuck, you get what you pay for, remember, it's a food court. I've been in there a many times on my trips to to I.V.. I have ordered burgers, sandwiches and breakfast burritos. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and when I hit the road I pulled it out and unwrapped it. It was a lot smaller than usual and after two bites I Pulled over to unwrap it. It was mostly hash browns, eggs and no bacon and no cheese. I wrapped it and stopped back in there on the way back to the I.E. and spoke with the asst. manager. I explained the situation and she took the burrito to the back room to inspect it. She came out and told me the bacon was chopped into little pieces and the cheese was melted? I told her no and asked for my money back. She wouldn't acknowledge a refund but repeated the chopped bacon pieces and melted cheese. I wasn't in the mood to argue so I said keep it, you got me for $8 bucks and walked out. If you're going into the I.V. there are other good places in Main Street Calipatria and in Westmoreland with their brand new truck stop. read more

Went for a ride with friends today down to the east end of the valley. We stopped to see the Mecca travel center and decided to eat at Chelo's Burgers and we were not disappointed. It's very clean, the food was good and the service was excellent. Such nice people especially at the burger place. Chandi should have those young ladies training for his other establishments, much better service out there. By the way we had burgers, and two in the party had omelets, all delicious.
