You want great food? This is where you get great food! First of all, the drinks are huge! Look at my picture comparing the regular size cup to the large. Agua de piña was so refreshing and sweet. The chilaquiles were saucy and delicious. The sopes were so good! You can tell that the carne they use is high quality. I know where to go when I need soup because the Caldo de Rez was my favorite! The caldo was tasty, the meat was tender, and the vegetables were so hearty; yet refreshing. 10/10, I'm coming back for my Caldo again! read more

Used to love this place, but it's gone downhill. The bill is higher than the prices on the menu and the food was flavorless and boring. Staff is nice though read more

Food was good. We had the wet burrito and flautas plate. The wet burrito was ok, average. The flautas were really good. Everything was fresh, the beans were yummy and the rice was soft and delicious. The restaurant was clean, spacious. The service was good. Nothing extra special but they got the order right and smiled. Restrooms needed attention. Overall a good experience. We'll go back again. read more

Absolutely love the food, especially their Camarones a la Diabla. It's a very short wait time for food. Servers are always friendly.

This was the worst experience I ever had. The enchiladas tasted like vinegar. My dad who usually cleanse his plate and never leave food could not get himself to take another bite. My shrimp cocktail was no better. I ordered an horchata and it was the icing of the cake. They need to fire the cook altogether. This is my first to ever rate a restaurant, but this needed to be said. Never again. read more

Amazing service! Great barbacoa burritos I went during a rush and got my food out quickly, I was also recommended the burrito!

I came on Tuesday for the taco Tuesday special. Upon ordering they said they don't have it anymore that they actually never had it. I spoke to the owner because it shows it on the menu but still did not honer it. The owner vicky was very rude about it and screamed nd got upset. Horrible customer service being there especially as the owner. They have specials that Technically they don't have. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! BBB needs to check this out. I would not come back to this place with the owner being so rude and horrible customer service. That tiny chubby lady needs to learn how to give better customer service! The food was excellent and service was great!! Authentic taste and the chavelas are one of the best in the valley!!

This review is a few years overdue. I really miss this eatery. Their food and their flavored water are simply awesome. My favorite dish is the pollo huarache. The tacos are delicious too. My favorite drinks were tamarindo, jicama and jicama. The customer service always attentive & friendly. I and another USDA inspector frequented this restaurant at lunch between inspections. read more

We had menudo and chilaquiles. Honestly best chilaquiles I've ever had. I got the red and green sauce, they were both delicious. Highly recommend. Menudo is so bomb as well. Only thing is I wish they had a tortilla warmer to keep the tortillas warm read more

The tortillas are thick, fresh, and tasty. The Chavelas are yummy here. Love the 3 different types of salsa. I had the quail dinner for the first time and I couldn't believe how good it was. I even ate the beans and rice with peas and carrots. I don't usually eat rice and beans. Flautas, tacos, tortas, you really can't go wrong. Right next door to Cardenas in Coachella where 50th meets Harrison. Wish we had known about this place sooner. Great prices, generous portions and the servers were really sweet to us. read more

Even on their busiest Sunday morning we were greeted and our order was taken. Turn around time was very quick I thought we would in for a long wait. Food delicious. Service was good and the food was delicious and served in a very timely manner. The salsas with the chips were spicy and full of flavor.

I had the place years ago and was underwhelmed, a friend wanted to go for the birria today so I thought hey I'll give it a go. I order cheese enchiladas. And a carne asada taco. The enchilada sauce wasn't very tasty and a bit spicy. Rice was okay. Beans were wayyy to salty. The asada taco was good. Service wasn't that great either. Waitress was rude. I don't speak much Spanish so I felt that because I didn't speak Spanish to her she didn't want to waste her time with me. She passed by our table many times and didn't even ask if we needed anything and didn't offer any refills whatsoever. Definitely will not be going back and will not recommend to anyone. read more

Coming from a family where authentic Mexican food is a must for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I am very picky with the Mexican restaurants I like! I'm telling you, if you want authentic Mexican food, you must try this place! It's a little gem in the city of Coachella! Food is absolutely great! (Try their tortas/tacos al pastor/BIRRIA:)/menudo) they are all so delicious! Very clean, fast and friendly service, family owned and operated! It's a nice environment/kid friendly restaurant, they do not have margaritas though, but pretty good chabelas! Oh and their aguas frescas are yummy! read more

I want to start off that this place, have really great service. The only bad thing is, my mom ordered the menudo and it was too salty, plus the tortillas tasted sour. Other then that I ordered a wet burrito, and I asked for a taco on the side with carnita, but I guess the waitress misunderstood me and added the meat to my wet burrito, but it was pretty tasty. Overall everything was alright. read more

AUTHENTIC , DELICIOUS as it gets!!! Must try. My father in laws favorite place he's always talking about it. Finally tried it with him, my wife and grand daughter . Not disappointed. They even forgot to bring my meal and I was still not disappointed. I was abel to enjoy a taste of everyone's meal. The BEST!!! I tasted the following Queso fresco as a starter. Light tasty cheese wheel fresh as can be - cut a piece pour some of there green salsa on it yum. Chips and salsa with three different salsas came to the table all 3 excellent. Father in law ordered beef tongue "Lengua" in a green sauce cooked to perfection 3 or 4 large slices rice and beans. Placed a slice in one of there homemade corn tortillas slathered green sauce on it. WOW. Added A dollop of real homemade beans to die for. Next i tasted a Chicken Flauta I never order these always tasteless and nothing to them. NOT HERE OMG the chicken was actual fresh moist white meat cooked to perfection served with Guacamole and authentic Mexican sour cream. Excellent. The tortilla was perfectly fried not greasy at all. My grand daughter the pickiest of eaters ordered Cheese enchiladas and finished 90% of her meal she never eats anything. I noticed an actual Al-pastor spit in the kitchen after the meal can't wait to go back and try that out. Famous for having the best Menudo around you can choose from white "blanco" or red "Rojo" another must try I prefer the White. So much on the menu all I can say is I can't wait till next time. read more

Upon arriving, it was clean and the staff was polite. Ordering tacos was smooth. When I got home, I was missing tacos from my order. I called them and they kept repeating my order, I know my order. I know what I ordered, and yes you have my order right, but you didn't give me my tacos. I drive back to the restaurant, explain again I'm missing tacos. She took out the receipt and shows me that they marked off the tacos and I was like okay they did, BUT I DONT HAVE THE DAMN TACOS. The. She tried saying they didn't charge me for the tacos. Uhm, YES YOU DID, it's right there on the receipt. Did she give me my missing tacos, yes. But they STILL fucked that up cause I told her plain and they were filled with onion and cilantro. Never again. They make you feel it's YOUR FAULT they forgot your tacos and try to make you feel as if you're stealing and lying about missing food. And to top it all off, the damn tacos were cold. No stars of i could. Edit: i tried using the free large drink for checking into their location thru yelp, and they said no. read more

Horrible experience I had here. I came for the chabelas and birria, but was left with a horrible expression. I came in excited to see what the hype was about on the birria, unfortunately as soon as my friend and I sat down we waited and waited while people kept arriving after us and getting service before us. The waitress never checked in on us, we could've been repeat customers, but it's their loss now. This place is made me feel unwelcomed. Not sure if I will be back. The waitress we had was a red head lady. Didn't even want to help us when we had to pay, she had someone else take over to take our money. I will be taking my service and money elsewhere. I should've gone to TAPATÍO to begin with. read more
