Despite what I've read here, we have had good service since we began frequenting La Cazuela in 'Little Coachella' starting in 1990 when we moved here. I'm sure 'service' varies from time to time and is subject to the current restaurant labor crisis, but I'm sad to hear when customers are not treated with respect. The food is simple, authentic and well prepared by Eric's Aunts in the kitchen. Our breakfast orderings have remained the same for 32 years; Spanish omelets, outstanding yet simple. My friend and went here for lunch here yesterday. We arrived around 1 pm. The food was good, but the waitress only came back once to check on us. It wasn't busy. We each ordered the 3 rolled taquitos w/guacamole. We each had a regular margarita. The Bill was $76 without the tip. That's almost $40 each. We didn't get rice and beans with meal. Honestly, we love this place. It's one of those places that hits a spot when you need it. We come for Mother's Day and so it happened that when mom passed recently, there was only one place to go. Comfort food is comfort food. They are friendly, helpful, and ready to make a suggestion if needed. You can come with the family, friends, or for a delicious lunch with coworkers. The bar is ready to serve up cold libations and the chips and salsa will keep you satisfied until your food shows up. There is room inside for plenty and the area is well kept. If you are looking for an authentic, old school good Mexican food place , Cazuelas could be the place for you. It certainly was for me. Clean and neat without a lot of the standard decorative fussiness Cazuela offers delicious old school and authentic Mexican food. Located at the southern end of Coachella in an older working class area you will never want to overlook a place that the 'locals' flock to. We had the cheese enchiladas and chili Colorado on our first visit. All the sauces taste home made just like our Mama Fortunata made back in the day. Generous portions and fresh tasting we were very happy campers. Subsequent visits we tried the chili rellenos which came 2 to a plate with wonderful beans and rice. And the best shredded beef enchiladas ever!! Beans were creamy and flavorful, rice fluffy and simply perfect and a nice amount of beef in the enchilada. Sense a theme here ? And I can't forget to mention just how lovely the staff is. Efficient and friendly and quick to refill your drinks. What more could you ask for!?!? read more

Chips suck, they taste stale. Tortillas are falling apart (even though we requested crispy ends), no initiative to bring you the basics such as a straw or plates. Food is ehhh...I feel bad to talk about hispano service being hispanic... but they lack customer service skills especially Hispanic to Hispanic. But if you're male you'll get slightly better service for tips (just my observation in general). We gave them a try since they are the closest restaurant to our new home, but I rather drive farther to get better service. read more

This place is underrated! I grew up in the city of Coachella we drove by here all the time but for some reason only started dining here recently. This is authentic Mexican food like from home. Their cheese enchiladas are the best. We have been here a couple of times on the weekend for breakfast and they always only have one server which can make service a little slow since they do get busy. Fantastico! We were heading to a place in palm desert for breakfast and got stuck in a traffic redirection nightmare due to a bike race. When we popped out in Coachella we had no idea where to go but this place came up on the map and we stopped. We had parole, menudo, and chilaquiles. Everything was amazing - full of flavor. The food was excellent. The salsa is amazing and spicy. A good snack with chips before the entrees. But the server was horrendous, Ysenia. She immediately gave us the menus, or rather tossed them on the table and just left to attend another customer and I had to ask "are you mad" cause I'd rather not be attended by an upset server. She had absolutely no smile on her face and overall bad attitude and only helped us after we had to call her down a couple times and eventually she stopped helping us. I would give this place zero stars if I could. What a joke. The person who seated us was a jerk. So negative that my husband hesitated to even sit down in the dark dark atmosphere. But we sat. Looked at the Menu of very old type of Mexican meals. We decided to split if the portions were huge since we are at a hotel and didn't want leftovers. This is my most frequented lunch spots. Menu is solid, prices are right. The place is normally packed and handled by one waitress. She brings it everyday. The place is old, a little wear, but still a lot of mileage left. My biggest caveat would be the summer heat drives flys in doors. They need a fly fan on entry door. I have gotten many items off the menu and generally satisfied with them all. I've had a few lows, but mostly highs. If you are in the area stop by, you shouldn't be disappointed. read more
