This is my second time there; first time I came with a friend, we ordered a shrimp cocktail and chiles gueritos, I remember it was fast and the waitress was very quick and very attentive; This time I came with my husband, he ordered the Menudo which he loved, I ordered two tacos à la cart with one cream enchilada (white enchilada) they have three kinds of enchiladas. When my order came out they brought me the combination plate w/rice & beans & the enchilada, lots of food! I told her I didn't order the combo, just the tacos , She gave me attitude and said if I don't want it to take it back throw it away I didn't want the food thrown away, so I went ahead and took it; after that she never came back to our table they sent another lady initially, when we got there, they had chips and salsa , our chips finished so we ordered more chips, the bill came, they charged us for those chips; I was disappointed in the service, and I would've also liked to been told that there was an extra charge for additional chips + credited me for her error with my food; after all she gave me the combo, even though I didn't really finish the rice or the beans which were bad; if you call her, be specific and ask questions, I also forgot to take a picture of the white enchilada, which was very tasty! read more

Came in town last weekend for my son's wedding. We had a large family staying at a nearby VRBO. The VRBO cleaning team recommended Allende and it didn't disappoint! We ordered fajitas, barbacoa, grilled chicken, dozen enchiladas, half dozen Chile relllenos (which were my favorite!), rice, beans, all the garnishes, great salsas...we brought back to the house and served family style and everyone enjoyed! Their menu doesn't lend itself to large family style orders but the gal on the phone was super friendly and guided me through the menu just fine. Allende, you might need a catering menu?! This Allende is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants (and Mexican is my favorite cuisine!), for sure in the top 2! And hands down the best of the 3 Allende locations! I would rate the Coachella location as 2nd and the North Indio location in last place. I'm SHOCKED to see this restaurant only has 3 stars! I would 100/10 recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food! I've had a ton of different things from here over the many years we've been coming here and all of their food is delicious, but my go to/usual order is the enchiladas rancheras (cheese), which comes with rice and beans. Their beans are the absolute best beans I've ever had, even better than my Suegra's which is surprising! We've ordered large sides of beans multiple times to serve at parties because they're THAT good! Their portions are really decent sized too and I often can't finish all my food in one sitting, which is nice because then I get to eat it twice! My second go to order when I don't mind spending the extra money is the fajitas allende which is beef, chicken & shrimp enchiladas and absolutely divine!!! Some of my other favorites are their tacos- birria, carne asada, lengua, and cabeza especially, their chilaquiles (though I do wish they also offered them in green sauce!), carne asada tortas (I recommend asking for it extra toasted so it doesn't get soggy), cóctel de camarón/shrimp cocktail, chiles güeritos, machaca burrito, menudo, and so much more! If you've never eaten here and are considering it I hope you see this review and decide to give it a try because I promise you WON'T be disappointed!! Also, the little panadería in the same parking lot has really good stuff as well, especially if they have their picadillo pastries in if/when you go! I went last week and the Chilaquiles were okay but the chicken taco my sister ordered the tortilla shell if you can call it that was nasty and the chicken was salty AF. Service was lacking but whatever. I didn't bother leaving a review last week but after my coworker's experience today I had to. They were the rudest to her and her family including a child. This place needs new management and employees. Too long of a story but basically rude waitress who when called out for being rude ran to the back to tell the guy who proceeded to threaten customers. I come here because they have in my opinion the best menudo in the whole Coachella/Palm Springs area. It's cooked to perfection and it does not have that lingering menudo smell that lots of places have or the after taste. It's a must have weekend breakfast meal for us on the weekends. I have eaten here before and had a good experience l, but today the food was far from what I was used to from previous experiences. I ordered 2 chicken tacos Dorado and all beans. The plate was lacking what I was paying for and by the time I ate the first taco the second was soggy and not edible as a taco. The tortilla tasted like flour and not corn. There is a horrible waitress here and we gave her a few chances, thinking she may have just been having a bad night, but no- it's just her attitude. She barely comes around to check on you, is quick to leave before you're finished speaking, and forgetful. We've had to stop other waitresses who were not assigned to our table and ask for the things we need. She is one of the main reasons we won't be back to this location. The other is that it's hot in the restaurant (especially during the summer, which makes it gross) and a lot of flies buzzing around. It's too bad. This location is closer to me and newer. I think this particular waitress is related to the owner, because I can't imagine a situation in which a business would willingly hire and keep an employee who actively costs them business. Not a smart move on their part. The other reviews echo this. To describe her, she has a slight accent, has jet black hair, and is a bit bigger than the other waitresses (I don't like saying that- it's the only way to describe her). So sad how terrible the service is here. The one waitress who took my order wasn't so bad, but the other one who have her phone and I believe a control or telephone in her back pocket was terrible! Some guy walks in with his bike, as SHE clearly sees he's having a hard time bringing it in as he's older. I ordered over the phone and I got mistreated by the owner for "not specifying which tortilla was my order, (mais or flour) when i got there to pay and pick up she realized she didnt take the order correctly blaming me for her error. Very arrogantly and with no maners started to tell me how i need it to be more specific. When I took the first bite, I thought it tasted amazing. However, when I got to the center, I started to notice I was chewing these tiny seeds. I thought to myself, no this can't be seeds who doesn't know the first rule about making chile rellenos? So I opened both chilis and both were full of seeds. I wasn't sure if it was a mistake so I showed this to the waitress and she apologised and brought me another plate. To my surprise, these also had seeds. At this point I was done with exchanging plates. I ate around it and had to eat it with out the cheese, since it was embedded with seeds. This is unacceptable. I hope the restaurant owner sees this and corrects it immediately. (Please teach your cooks if they already don't know, how to properly clean out a chili relleno and to not mix the filling with the cleaned out seeds.) read more

first time driving by, stopped in. ordered ceviche both fish and shrimp wanting to see which one I liked better. They were $4.00 a piece and they wanted to charge me more for avocado and an extra tortilla if I was interested. My experience, avocado usually is a garnish which is included. I have passed by this place several times, didn't know if it was open. I do like the setting inside and the large booth tables. It was 111 degrees outside and not much relief inside the restaurant. Just moved to Indio and googled breakfast and found this restaurant. I ordered the machaca and it was very good! Even a little avocado on the side!! Usually you have to pay more for that. Plus extra tortillas were given too. My husband loved the salsas! The waitress was very nice and checked on us to make sure everything was ok! The restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. The restroom was clean too. Brush up on your 'español' because the menus are in Spanish. read more
