Super sketchy service. They have zero security and will give your suits to strangers. Go anywhere…read moreelse if you value your belongings. Story time. I occasionally travel for work and used Alex Cleaners on several occasions over the last few years as my local neighborhood shop to get a quick service before meeting with Clients. Normally no issues... but... Last month I was preparing for both an interview and a wedding. I dropped off a suit and shirt for cleaning like usual. I was given a ticket slip and told to come back in a few days. When I came back, the employee couldn't find my suit or their copy of the claim ticket. I assumed maybe just a clerical error and spent 30 minutes with the employee going through the racks to see if it had been misplaced. Nothing. I gave them my information and was told the owner would call me back and I hoped they'd have an update. Meanwhile I'm going home trying to figure out backup plans if I don't get my suit in time. This is where it gets crazy. The owner calls me within the hour and tells me someone came in several days earlier without the ticket receipt. The person claimed to be me and Alex Cleaners gave them my suit when they paid in cash. I was confused. Why would they give my suit to someone without the claim ticket? They had my contact information on the business copy of the ticket, so why wouldn't they try calling my phone number or email to verify my identity? But they didn't. Any time I tried to ask a question, the owner cut me off and talked over me. I got more confused because rather than admitting making a mistake as a business, the owner THREATENED me by claiming I was trying to scam them and that he was going to call the police on me! At this point I ended the conversation terrified this guy was going to have police or attorneys coming after me for their mistake. I filed my own police report, but I'm not planning on taking this to court. The suit was nice but not worth legal drama. The most I can do is warn others not to use Alex Cleaners. I don't know what their situation is... if they messed up and were lying to cover themselves when they realized they lost my clothes? That or their employees are sharing customer info to commit fraud and steal suits because they don't have security systems or processes to protect customer belongings. Either way, save yourself the drama and get your stuff cleaned somewhere else. TL;DR Alex Cleaners gave my suit to a stranger then threatened me.

This business…read moreresponded quickly and asked me to make an appointment with the Yelp scheduler tool (directly in the response thread), and it had me pick a date/time and enter my address. I didn't think much about it other than it was very convenient and since virtually every other Yelp business (landscaping, cleaning, painting, plumbing, etc..) the service provider comes to you, AND it specifically asked for my address I naturally assumed this was the same. The appointment time came and went. When I asked about it she said she worked from home and I was supposed to have come to her. This detail was never mentioned in the thread nor the Yelp appointment scheduler, so I'm not sure how I was supposed to know that. Why use a scheduler tool that requires my address as part of the appointment if not to establish the location of the appointment?? Anyway, I went with another vendor (who clearly asked me to come in to their shop) and I gave them my business. CW Sewing may do fantastic work but I'll never know because they can't communicate/confirm basic appointment details using Yelp features.

The next day I arrived in the morning and noticed the times had changed where this place did not use quarters but use a credit card to pay. They also provide some updated services like dropping off laundry and they wash/dry/fold them and even pickup/delivery service. Three stainless steel Speed Queen washers were available and tossed my clothes into each one of them. You can pack up to 3/4 of clothes into the front loading drum. The lady working there helped me out by turning them on and showing me where to pour in the liquid soap (one cup). Remember to bring your own soap, but I think they sell some there. It was about $5 to wash and did not need to dry them there since my dryer was working, and took my wet clothes home. The machine had a digital countdown timer and took about 30 to wash. The door had a window so could see your clothes thrashing around. There are some seating available, restrooms and WiFi. They did have a TV but was showing old reruns of Friends. I just plugged in my AirPods and continued watching my marathon of The Office while I waited. Wash Day Laundry also had a few large washing machines ($7) to handle big items like comforters and blankets. It is nice to have someone working there to help you out and after my second visit I started to learn the routine there. I plan to return to wash my comforter and blankets where this place was great.

It is a bit expensive to do leather jacket cleaning, but for the experience and process, I would say it was totally worth it. They texted me to let me know when they would arrive to pick up and to drop off. They gave me a clear time approximation and even beat it (they estimated 6-8 weeks but I believe it only took about 2-3?). My jackets came back wrapped really nicely, and the delivery driver took proper care to deliver at my door. In fact, I wasn't home and she asked how I would like my jackets to be dropped off. The thoughtfulness and consideration Ian's provides can't be beat. I also appreciate that they have an app so you can easily plan your pick-ups and drop-offs. If I have any articles of clothing that will need dry cleaning in the future, Ian's will be top of mind.

I contacted customer support today, the reimbursement hasn't even been processed. They now swear it's officially in the works and their leadership team is in the loop.
