Came here during the holidays. This place was really nice from the inside. Drinks were good not too strong though. What I don't understand is that It was around 11:30pm and it wasn't busy. Is this how Canada normally is? Anyway loved this place

We ended up here for an after-party and had a great time. We ordered a few more drinks and just enjoyed ourselves. Simple and fun.

I met my pals, Franca and Liz, for supper Tuesday evening at Jack Astor's. I had my usual Chicken Parmigiana (Breaded chicken, tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, linguine, creamy cheese sauce). Liz had Thai Coconut Curry Chicken Bowl (Sautéed chicken, seasoned jasmine rice, yellow Thai coconut curry sauce, roasted turmeric cauliflower, sweet potato, carrot, red peppers, cucumber, miso dressing, green onion, sesame seeds, peanuts, cilantro, fried taro root). Franca had Chicken Fingers (Fresh, signature chicken tenders breaded in-house and made to order) and a salad. All were good! Valentina was our server and took good care of us. She left us alone to yak.

My youngest son and I hit up Jack Astors prior to a Raptors/Celtics game. We arrived around 5:30 before a 7:30 tip-off. We waited in a short line before we were seated. Restaurant was quite large with a lot of TVs. After we were seated a waiter came over to us and we provided our drink and food order at the same time. My youngest son had chicken finger dinner and I had steak frites. We also ordered the house garlic bread. Garlic bread came out very quickly and was excellent. A little more of a delay for our food. My steak was cook pretty close to perfection. My son enjoyed his chicken fingers and fries. Portions were fair, taste was good, service was fair, overall environment was great. I'd definitely go back for another event based on how quickly they are able to address everything and the food quality.

The restaurant is clean, which is nice to see towards the end of the day. This service was a little slow. It was the end of the night, there were a few tables that were seated, and enough staff to provide service, which is always nice to see at restaurants these days. We ordered the holy smoke burger, it came without a toasted bun which was room temp when it got to us, tasted good with double burger and two slices of bacon, but honestly when I go to a restaurant I would really prefer to have a warm meal when I order one. I also ordered the fingers and fried. Both were cold on my plate. My fingers were soggy on the bottom, and sitting in oil. My fries were a little wrinkled. Our drinks came quickly, but the food took about 45 minutes. The brownie sliders taste exactly like the box they came out of. I think they were probably little Debbie cakes or something. You can see the frost icicles on the "ice cream" wedged between the brownies, this tasted like an emulsified oil mix with sugar that was probably either sitting in their freezer for weeks, or left out in the heat and refrozen. The food was terribly poor in quality. And I was appalled with how cold everything but my dessert was. The fingers, steak and Buddha salad were my favourite things on this menu, but I've had the holy smokes burger at least 30 times in the last two years, and it was soooo much better every other time I've been to jacks (the queen way and Scarborough, and even sometimes here), mostly because it was SERVED WARM!

The best juiciest burger ever! And the fries were a hit!!!!!

This bar/restaurant was full of vibes! Had such a great experience and enjoyed the amazing service we received. Stopped here before the basketball game Tor vs Cavs and it's was packed... the staff was quick on their feet and had things rolling out quick. Overall the food was great and the service was excellent! Look forward to coming back... You guys showed me some Toronto Love!!!

This is a great place to take in a ball game. The service was a little spotty but not bad. The place packed on Friday night and a little loud but should be expected at a bar. The food was very good and hope to get back.

Came to this sports bar on a trip to Toronto for Caribana. I was looking for a quick lunch, and this spot was walking distance from my hotel. It was pretty standard, which is to be expected from a chain business. Chips and guac was just okay. Burger was good, but not very impressive. The staff were friendly. I'd come back to grab another burger if I was close by.

A great place to grab a bite and beer before a game. Or post work. We enjoyed their burgers and ordered the truffle linguine from their new menu. Everything was delicious! Service is pretty quick and efficient too.

We ventured out on a Friday night, this bar we found on yelp and was walking distance from our hotel. Pros: -wide beer selection, we ordered the Canadian lager and the blue wave beer which was a unfiltered lager.. both were great and would order again. -wide food selection too, ordered a burger to share which was delicious and i ordered a Caesar salad with chicken to go.. was very good!!!!! -lively bar for a Friday night, a lot of younger people and seemed to be local -Cons the service at the bar was subpar, the 2 bartenders seemed to be overwhelmed or slow.. the bar wasn't that busy to be overwhelmed.. - drunk guy at bar Causing a scene with another customer.. security came and escorted him out very fast

    just pick something!!!??? ;)

other place had 7 people in line... enough to leave, hate lines :) food was really good service was great big interior, lots of space about half full, it's really loud (music/room noise) great salmon

Ordered for take out, and it was great! Tasted amazing as usual. I liked how I had gift cards and it was no problem for them. I ordered it to go cuz I was off to see Tiff. Will be back here for sure!

Our server was not attentive what so ever, he took quite a while to even take our order and at one point we had to wave him down. It was quite disappointing to know that this was how we were treated coming out for dinner. Now when it comes to the food, also nothing special. I ordered the Steak & Prawns but it definitely lacked flavours. Where I know the server was not being attentive was when I had asked for medium well and it came out medium rare. The prawns were garlicky and flavourful but the steak was definitely underwhelming. We also ordered the Nachos with Chicken (chicken was extremely bland), Calamari (nothing special), Parm fries (probably best thing I had), and the Trio Dip (which was alright). Overall was a mid experience and not sure I would come back, after the way we were treated. 5.5/10 Recommend!

It is, in many respects, exactly what it intends to be: a loud, generous, unpretentious haven for those emerging from Bay Street offices or rallying before a Scotiabank Arena event. The beer programme is the undisputed centerpiece. The selection is vast and thoughtfully curated, spanning local GTA craft offerings alongside storied European imports such as Erdinger and La Trappe. Flights arrive on paddles with coasters identifying each pour -- a charming detail that rewards the curious drinker. One could spend an entire evening simply navigating the rotating taps, and many regulars do precisely that. The kitchen delivers pub fare that, while familiar in concept. Service is warm and attentive on its best evenings, with staff who clearly understand the rhythm of a busy house. However, during peak hours the pace can stretch thin, and a lapse in table attention can surface. The noise level is considerable -- an unavoidable consequence of the venue's scale and popularity. Those seeking quiet conversation will find it a challenge; those seeking energy and the communal hum of a city unwinding will feel entirely at home. For the corporate denizen of the Financial District, or the sports fan looking for a spirited pre-game gathering point, Beertown is a reliable and genuinely enjoyable destination. The beer alone is worth the visit.

I'm not sure if it was our server's break but a couple of other servers came to check on us but couldn't (wouldn't?) take our order until our actual server arrived a while later, which was maybe 20 minutes or so. Not deterred, as we were hungry and thirsty - we ordered the giant beer paddles for our table to share and also a few apps. The beer arrived warm quite a while later and also only had the breweries names on the coasters, not the actual name of the beer so we guessed on a few. The apps were not memorable and were only warmish - so was not blown away. Too bad as the location nearer to me in Oakville was much better in terms of food and service. Even though my office is steps away, I wouldn't rush back.

Ambiance - 4/5: similar to most sports bar, it's dim and loud with a lot of sports games on tv. They had a lot of reservations so the tables were split off for our small reservation. It felt a little tight. There seems to be 2 levels of seating. Service - 3.75/5: we got there early but they were nice enough to seat us early. The host sweetly pulled out my seat for me. It took us awhile to decide what to order but the server was patient with us. He checked in on us a few times. Maybe because the tables are tight, servers kept knocking into my chair seving other patrons and my seat is all the way into the table. Food - 3.5/5: I appreciate that the menu gives little historical moments that happened over the years. we ordered: Spinach dip - comes with chips and pita. Some of the chips were heavily seasoned. The pita is soft but doesnt really absorb much of the spinach dip. The dip itself is light in flavor. I prefer the chips over the pita Steak frites - we ordered medium rare and they got the cook right. The steak knife is very bendy. It should have been a AAA striploin but for some reason it felt tough and was hard to cut through. The charcoal grill marks made the exterior too burnt, giving it a bitterness to the steak. It came with an arugula salad and a very genorous portion of fries. Everything was seasoned well. The arugula salad and the chimmichuri on the steak had a tartness to it which added some brightness to the dish. I typically don't use ketchup but I needed it to help me with the fries. I could not finish the fries Sundae - there's probably only 1 scoop worth of vanilla ice cream. It comes in a cup with whipped cream and berries. Overall: 3.75/5 - If we come back, I might try other food items.
