FUZZY MANGO BREEZE was good but had too much ice and not enough mango flavouring. We wouldn't order this again.

We stopped by here Saturday evening after reading reviews because we were really hungry. The lines were long and I really thought it would take a long time to receive our food but we were pleasantly impressed. The Bar: We went up to the bar because we were told it would be a 30 minute wait to get a table. We ordered the fuzzy mango breeze fish bowl and were not too impressed. It was made with Absolut Mandrin, triple sec, mango, lime, passion fruit, Sprite, and maraschino cherries. We thought our drink would last a while but it was mostly ice and was gone in very few sips. The drink was also not mixed too well. The flavour was all at the bottom and after we each had a sip it seemed like we were drinking sprite. Would we order this again? Absolut'ly not! THE FOOD: THAI SESAME CHICKEN STIR-FRY BOWL - my fiancé really enjoyed the dish and has ordered it multiple times since the first time we visited this location. MISO GLAZED SALMON BOWL- this dish is really delicious. The salmon is cooked perfectly and it is reasonably priced. I order this dish often and enjoy it every time. SWEET POTATO FRIES: The sweet potato fries are a dish we love to share. They are cooked really well and are the perfect appetizer. Would we return? Absolutely!

Writing about 3047 Vega Blvd location. Food is ass. Avoid! At all costs. Received a free appetizer voucher with meal so we dropped in for a drink. Big mistake! The free appetizer value was off by mere cents and the one we wanted they wouldn't let us get even if paid off the difference.. so the young lady serving us who was probably no more than 19 years old recommended an alternative. It was her favourite She said the option was similar to the lobster and crab dip. But it looked and tasted disgusting! As you'll see, it was clearly not made from regular cheese but rather, cheese whiz and it was naaaaasty! Don't recall the name of what I ordered for a meal but it definitely wasn't what I had expected. Was meant to be chicken tacos and was not tacos at all. I hardly ate it. My buddy had a burger that was also not good. Everything was so ass we washed it down with overpriced beverages then left. Service was decent. The young server was eager to get us to order more but we wanted to get the hell out of there. Never again. Not even if you pay me.

I invariably end up at a Jack Astor's when I am in the area since it is everywhere and it's a good safe option that everyone likes. This time was no different. However, service was off on this visit. The waitress kept disappearing on us for long periods of time and forgot our water. The food was solid. I liked my Asian bowl and the lemon tart was great.

We went for a group meal with 7 people and squished into a booth in the bar area. There were Xmas lights draped across the ceiling and lots of colourful furniture with framed magazines like rolling stone and mad covering the walls. This was 11:30am on a Sunday and the restaurant was empty. We had great service and were well taken care of. We split the cheesy garlic bread which was oily but delicious! To eat I had the lobster and crab dip while my partner had the chicken tendies. Consistently good. Will be back :)

Sauced chicken fingers + sweet potato fries

Ordered the sauced chicken fingers and upgraded the fries to sweet potato fries. The food was fine, called in for take out (15% off) and the food was ready fairly quickly & the cook included extra sauces The chicken tenders were not as sauced as I've had at other location, but overall decent meal. * I wanted the tenders made more spicy but it was against policy to change the recipe of the tenders, so they just added hot sauce instead.

Had a craving for some nachos last night. Jackastors Ye old faithful macho nachos never disappoint.

Celebrated my hubby's bday tonight. We ordered nachos to start and our mains. We received our mains after some time, but no nachos. We were given some bread instead. Manager came by and apologized for the experience. She took the nachos off our bill and gave us 2 to take home! Waitress was polite, attentive and helpful. She rounded up her crew to sing Happy Birthday to my hubby. Didn't have to remind them, I put it on the reservation. Now THAT'S customer service! Mistakes happen, but it's how they corrected it, and the sincerity of their apologies is what made our night. Thank you for proving that good service still exists!

I drove home from London today and stopped at Jack Astor's for lunch before heading home. I'd skipped breakfast so I was hungry. I got there about 12:15pm and it was filling up for lunch. There was a fun Friday vibe! I ordered what I always order at a Jack Astor's ... Chicken Parmigiana. The batter on the chicken was different than I've had at a Jack Astor's. It was light and I really liked it. I'm hoping it's throughout all the Jack Astor's as it made the Chicken Parm even better! The tomato was chunky and good. The cheese sauce on the pasta had a bit of a bite which I liked. It's probably the best Chicken Parm I've had at a Jack Astor's. Tamara was my server and she took good care of me.

    Yummy!

For years I've had a love/hate relationship with the Jack Astor's franchise. I love the 'idea' of going there but then order something and remember I generally can't tolerate the food. Today, I tried this location while joining some of my extended family for dinner. The decor of this location shoots the others in the...never mind. This one appears to move slightly away from the sports bar theme and more towards the family friendly bar environment. So much so, that the sports fans in the group spent most of the time in the bar where they could see the televisions best. Unlike most of my experiences at JA's, as mentioned above, this food was delicious. I had their chicken and goat cheese sandwich which was very flavourful! However, the goat cheese flavour presides over all others, so if you don't like goat cheese it's not the item to order. As a side, I ordered poutine (diet out window for the day). It was divine! This location and our server were so friendly and compromising that it made for an overall pleasant dining experience. They know how to cater to families Ina way that keeps both kids and adults happy. Definitely a good option from the many restaurants that are on the Queensway.

Always a good time at Jacks Sherway... cooler vibe than the competitors in the area. EDIT: Haven't been in a while and now it's shit. Beer selection, although I recall they recently pumped up their craft beer selection.. well, it's a bait&switch.. For instance, Mill Street tap with "SEASONAL" written right on the tap.. "oh, that's just organic".. ok how about those Sam Adams taps? "Sam Adams Boston Lager".. oh, so none seasonal on ANY of them? "WE HAVE SAM ADAMS BOSTON LAGER" .. omg.. ok and are those 2 Goose head taps the 2 Goose beers? "no we just have the IPA".. sigh.. "glass of water please".. and can.. uh.. ok, she walked away.. but stuck close enough to comment "there's a drink menu right in front of you, what you're looking at is just a bit of what we have".. ok, yeah, but I bet there's nothing special in there either.. checked.. OH! My mistake! there's a rotating tap! "ask your server" it says Hahahahahahaha.. no... but it did denote what it was.. some pedestrian crappy (presumably) 'Mexican Cerveza' at 4.x percent..{NOTE: Who the F* does she think she is? oh right, not THAT cute IMHO, but seemingly best-looking on day staff so presumes she can be a bitch.. ok}.. GTFO k, so food.. I used to LOVE the thai curry chicken dish they used to have, but replaced with shoddy butter chicken recipe, and NOW they have "new bowls" one of which being a $16 salad-like thing they pass off as a curry bowl.. better add chicken.. k, so $25 later I got a bowl with well-past-due cukes and other shoddy vegetables in a minimal-curry bottomed bowl.. check my pic of the Coco Curry Bowl.. yum.. ew.. see those sloppy cukes? and where's the curry? glad I ordered the extra upcharged chicken or else this would just be a bowl of shit.. k, I'm out.. EDIT2: This is in NOT in relation to Michelle behind the bar who is great.. I don't know who that new chick is but I stand by my 'bitch' comment, despite the hate mail...

Popped in here after some Christmas shopping at Sherway since my growing nephew (11) was starved. Actually, my wife and I were pretty hungry too. Saturday at about 7 pm this place is pretty happening. Very full of people of all ages and groups and dates and they all seemed pretty happy. Also we did. Or have to wait long for a seat. The 50 or so waitresses and waiters are all very nice and helpful. Seems a little disorganized at times but it works. The music is loud the TVs all over the place give the place a fun vibe. And the crayons and brown paper on the tables give you a chance to be creative. The food options are standard Canadian type fare with burgers, nachos, some full entrees, steaks, and even include curry, salmon and pretty much anything you might want. We had one chicken fingers and fries which was delicious. Real chicken and very tender. And one chicken club sandwich which was a little on the small side but very good with lots of bacon and mayo. And finally we had a stir fry with rice from the kids menu which comes with a dessert and my nephew chose a cookie to go. With a beer, and some lemon milkshake that my wife had, we paid like $75. Overall very satisfied with the service and quality of the food as well as the fun atmosphere.

Worst meal I've ever had at Jack Astors!!!! So disappointed! Came here on 9/14/16 at5:15 for dinner. Beer flat and warm. Veggies that came with our wings old and soggy. Quinoa puffed chicken salad was absolutely disgusting. No dressing and soggy. Looks like they were serving us old food from the lunch run. We used to be JA regulars and have never been so disappointed. This chain is going downhill :( My advice to you...go across the street to Joey's or the Keg.

Jack's is a SIR corp chain. This particular Jack's has been at the same location for quite a while now and I've seen them flip their menus many times as they don't have the same thing and seem pretty dynamic. What I do miss the complimentary garlic bread in the small pan. THAT was amazing. You can still add it to a meal or buy it by itself but IMO it was one of the reasons to go to Jack's in the first place kind of how Red Lobster has their garlic cheese biscuits. It's like a carb staple that people would cheat their diet to have. They have a pretty spacious patio facing the new north west section of Sherway Gardens and while the patio is nicely covered the seating is a mix. You have your low seating near the perimeter and group high long benches in the middle sort of separates the high from the low seated crowd and high tables along the side of the wall. We decided to sit on the patio tonight seeing as how the weather was sort of decent and these days the inside seemed a little darker and the AC was blasting hard. Now don't me wrong I like comfortable AC but sometimes and in some areas it can be too strong. I felt it's almost cold inside and I'm not really one to complain about that. The menus seem sort of simple and limited I suppose even though there's a wide variety. Between standard type starters and some special starters from the feature menu there are some choices but not too many that appeal to me. When I go to a bar you expect the expected sort of like nachos, wings etc. Some of the featured apps were a couple kinds of poutine, one of which had pierogies on it. I like pierogies but not on poutine. The other one had vegetables on it. We just went with the calamari which was a decent size and was ok. Besides the choices of chicken parm, fish and chips, sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers etc this fare basically is just so common and you see it just about everywhere. Nothing really special here that stands out (besides their bread) so overall I have to say with a variety of choices they seem pretty mundane for a city that has some of the best restaurants and diversity of cuisines in the country, this place makes itself just another chain with a mundane selection of SAFE choices. I went for a burger again which seems to be a fallback choice for me these days. I'm not about to get pad thai or chicken parm at a chain restaurant any time soon because those dishes can be had elsewhere, probably for less and "more" authentically true. The burger I went with was the Holy Smoke that had smoked bacon, American cheese, hickory mayo, smoky BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions, and pickled banana peppers. This meal came with a side of fries and was just OK. Like I said nothing spectacular here and really nothing special. Standard is as standard does equals 3*.

There are also nightly and weekend happy hours, but we came here after work. - The white sangria is awesome! My former manager reached out to me about a few work-related questions. It was nice hearing from him. It's my usual self to ask if he'd like to go out for a meal. He was game with either the two of us, or past and current writers. I went with the latter, as it would be nice to have a happier meetup than what we did in November when he was let go. I hadn't been to Earls in a long time. I was a fan of this western Canadian chain when I lived in Winnipeg. Back then. it wasn't as upscale as it seems to be these days. The food was yummy and I liked dropping by. I asked him if he was good with this Earls across from CF Sherway Gardens. He was. There were a total of four folks who said yes. Another colleague said that he'd drop by to say hi. I didn't account for him in the reservation, as he'd be there briefly. I reserved online through OpenTable. It was party of four for 4:30 pm. It was great getting the occasional text message to confirm that we were still good to be here on a Wednesday at 4:30 pm. I was the first to make it here. I had no problem finding a parking spot and backed into an available one. I walked into the eatery. I was greeted by a friendly woman. I said that I had a reservation for four under my name. She found me and led me me to a booth. I looked at the happy hour menu. Red and white sangria were available. I went with the latter. It had peaches and oranges in it. It was delightful. We got water with ice. I waited for my friends and colleagues to arrive. Two of my friends had arrived, followed by the hi-and-bye friend. Two of them looked at my white sangria and order the same thing. Our other friend got a Moscow mule. My former manager texted me. He said that he was stuck in traffic on the 401 and he'd be late. I said that we'd be here. He eventually made it. Yay! He saw that most of us had sangria. He ordered the red sangria. Alcohol does hit him fast. Luckily, we were here for a few hours, so it eventually wore off. Even our server asked if he was okay, which was kind. Service was great. Our female server was attentive, making sure that our water was refilled and we were good. The manager came over and was looking for me. He said that to thank me for my "loyalty," he wanted to give us a complimentary Nashville crispy chicken and pickle skewers. I said that I wouldn't say no to free food! This appetizer was excellent. The pickle was a bit spicy. The crispy chicken was tender and not spicy. It was such a nice gesture. Our table got these items: - Baja taco (me) - Szechuan shrimp and pork dumplings (me) - Aburi salmon sushi press - Clam chowder - Bigger better burger with fries - Truffle tortellini I loved my baja taco. The fish was generous and flaky. It had a light, crispy batter. It was delicious. The szechwan shrimp and pork dumplings were excellent. The chili sauce had a ton of flavour. My former manager's aburi salmon sushi press needed more flavour. This place doesn't have wasabi. Instead, I said to dip his sushi in the szechwan sauce. He did and said it was much improved. I got to try a bit of his sushi and I also dipped it in the sauce. Yummy! My friends loved their meals. Everything was off the happy hour menu, except for the truffle tortellini that looked amazing. For dessert, we got these items: - Lemon meringue pie - Sticky toffee chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream Our friend had left, so we were a table of four. We devoured both desserts in five minutes. It was quite the feat to witness! The lemon meringue pie is seasonal. It should be on the menu all the time. It was fantastic. The lemon had the perfect tartness. The meringue was light and perfect. The sticky toffee chocolate pudding was moist and decadent. We loved the vanilla ice cream and the crispy wafer. Since I'm the fruit person, I had all the sliced strawberries. So good! We got separate bills. I paid with a credit card at the table. I tipped and tapped. Done! A few of us used the washroom before we left. The women's was clean and inviting. No complaints! My former manager was waiting outside. He noticed that my car was still there. It felt like old times chatting for a bit before heading our separate ways. The food and drink were excellent at this eatery. The company was perfect. Service was wonderful. I'd return here for more good eats and drinks. (147)

Brought a small group here expecting the same amazing food we usually have here…read more Service was great. Both appetizers (crispy tofu and spinach dip) were great. The kale and mushroom pizza that I had just a few months ago, has changed. Now, it's overcome by a thick layer of cheese, while the scant sprinkle of mushrooms and kale had zero flavour, and the usually amazing crust was dry and too hard to eat. The Nashville chicken sandwich was ho-hum at best. Over-fried, not much flavour and no sign of the promised Nashville spice. Sad to see the tofu tacos have left the menu, and hoping Earls can get back to consistently good food. Tip: Order the crispy tofu appetizer as your main. Best plant-based item on the menu. Our whole group (omnivores and herbivores) devoured these!

I purchased a Groupon for $15, which included 2 hours of pool for 2 people and $10 toward appetizers. Monte Carlo is located just east of Dundas and Dixie, but is not visible from the main roads, which made it hard to find. It's located in a fairly old strip mall that I usually drive by without giving a second glance. The bar itself is an older looking establishment, but very well kept. There are many pool tables and a handful of snooker tables that take up the large space, which consists of one long main room, and two smaller rooms. The staff were accommodating when I informed them that I had a Groupon. They even gave us a reminder when we had 5 minutes left in our promotional 2 hour limit, which was very nice of them. The drinks here are decently priced, with a beer costing about $3.50. The appetizers are decently priced as well, but don't expect anything special. I ordered the jalepeno poppers and they were clearly just heated from a frozen state, with some being colder than others. While the food was just alright, the actual pool tables were quite good! The tables are well kept, and ours didn't have any rips or bumps that would've impacted our game. There was ample space between tables, so at no point did we ever feel cramped for space. The cues are also decent and plentiful. I'd definitely recommend this place to others for those who want a pure pool experience. For a night out, I'd still recommend Wacky Wings because the food and entertainment is incomparable.
