Nicole was fantastic our waitress on the patio. However the food was very meh, I've had better at different locations. My salad the cucumbers were soft and part of the lettuce was wilted. It being a watermelon Greek salad the watermelon was mush and flavourless. Everything else was just mediocre nothing outstanding. The only highlight and why you got a three was because Nicole was so good. read more

Classic modern upscale sports bar. From the decor and setup to the menu options, I was not surprised in the least. Service was good, staff were friendly and the food was exactly what I was expecting. No complaints. read more

Not bad. Fairly decent service and the food ain't too shabby either. Just a bit on the noisy side when it gets later. It's preferable to dine there earlier in the day, because during the evening, especially on Fridays or Saturdays, it'll get busy AF! Parking will be troublesome, etc. read more

A great sports bar that is always a staple chain restaurant. Came here for the hockey game and it was packed to the brim - as expected. We surprisingly got a seat with a table of 8 and got drinks quickly. We mainly got drinks here and only a round of nachos to share since we came late. Got the nachos layered and it was okay. The review really is to emphasize the vibes here, as they still had their holiday lights dangled around the restaurant and everyone that was here was in a great mood (mainly because the Canadian hockey team won!). After the game, the restaurant cleared out super quickly and we were one of the only 5 tables left in the restaurant. I often hit up Jack Astor's when people want to watch games at a bar and it never disappoints. read more

Food was excellent. Chicken Pad Thai with noodles and Mizo Salmon Bowl we'd get these items again. Service was attentive and welcoming and the atmosphere was as expected a sports bar with loads of folks enjoying their conversations and meals. read more

Came here for lunch, and it was meh? I ordered a fried chicken burger and fries, but the chicken was extremely bland. I liked how crispy it was, I guess... and the fries were good (but how can you mess up fries?). I was really hungry though, but I honestly could have saved the time and went to McDonald's. I'm not exaggerating when I say the chicken is bland. For how much it cost, absolutely not worth it. I'd get more flavour at a fast food joint. The POS machine was acting up so our server had difficulty getting it to work, and it took a long time to pay and leave. Other than the basic, bland food, the staff was friendly and tried their best! read more

Jack Astors has good drinks and chicken fingers + fries. Nachos are bad and barely have any toppings. Service is bad. Ambiance is loud sports bar... depends what you like and AC is pumping in the summer. Service is not good and servers expect 20% tip on their below average service. When I tipped 13% in cash on terrible service, the server proceeded to ask "any more cash for tip?" Please train your employees in manners. Since so many other sports bars exist, Jack Astors is now a pass for me, would not recommend unless you just want great chicken fingers and fries! read more

As things are reopening, we decided to eat out again. Dropped here last weekend for lunch. We are glad to see they are doing a pretty good job with physical distancing and sanitizing. The wait time was about 35 minutes to get a patio table. Our server was nice, and prompt and apologized at the very beginning for the limited items menu (though we found the menu to be quite satisfactory). I had the Memphis Steak, my wife went for the Steak Fritters. Both were ok, may be a little dry. The presentation was nice for the Memphis. The veggies were crunchy. read more

Vibes good with new design. Servers are nice and friendly. Ambiance is festive. Can't wait for the live trivia at 7:30pm

I. AM. DISAPPOINTED! Why? Because of the new menu changes that they made. I ordered steak frite, and I KNOW what I would be getting when the food arrives as that's usually what my boyfriend ordered whenever we visited a Jack Astor. The steak frite was SUPPOSED to be sliced steak cooked to your order, paired with garlic fries and choice of two sauces from their list. But what did I get in return after this menu change? A blob of steak and PLAIN BLEH FRIES! No more garlic, and not even the sauces that I would be getting when it clearly stated in the menu. I didn't even recall our server asking me what sauce I wanted. Yes, I didn't bother asking about the sauces afterwards as it was busy. I did question though, when my food was brought up, I looked at it weirdly and asked what is it that you are bringing to me 'cause I clearly ordered steak frit. Yet, the server who brought my food up asked the closest server if that's what he had in his hand, and the serves said yes. I was shocked. I would definitely not coming back. read more

The service was quite slow. Our appetizer came out quickly, but our mains took forever. We had the calamari - it tasted very bland, even the dipping sauce couldn't save it. I had the fish and chips - the fries were cold and the fish had no flavour. The serving size is good for the price but all you're really getting is mediocre food in terms of taste and quality. We had the peanut butter brownie in a mug for dessert, which looked better than it tasted. The brownie was overcooked, hard, and flavourless. The service was fine in terms of efficiency, however it lacked warmth. Overall, I would not return here. read more

First off - Silvia, our server was OUTSTANDING! She had so much energy. She was friendly, courteous and attentive. She was everything you could want in a server. Always coming around checking if the food was good, our drinks and if we are enjoying our time. Haven't been to Jacks for a few years because of a couple of disappointing meals. Maybe it was just the previous locations that don't care about food and their service but this location has won back my business. Silvia is the best and 10/10 would recommend here, AMAZING SERVICE from everyone. Alicia, Chante and Simon. Nick read more

I'm not glad I came here for lunch at all. The service isn't the best . I had to sit on the fence because the beer has spilled and no one is cleaning it up. I guess I don't deserve to be treated like a human and instead feeling myself as a "chicken". The day is ruined for me . Thanks, server ! Update: the server did not wipe the table for 20-30 min. We had to grab the cleaning supplies from them and clean our selves ! What a great service ! read more

Went for dinner with my son. The place was recently renovated, it looked good and it was busy. I wished the host put us at a mini booth for 2, there were lots of them empty. The place is uncomfortably loud, my son who is sensitive to noise, he hated it. He couldn't even enjoy his meal. He doesn't have this problem at most restaurants. Our server Kass was great, she was attentive, fast and had great recommendations. All of her suggestions were delicious. The food was came surprisingly quick, the chicken tacos and the southwest poutine were amazing. Another problem was that they were showing a movie/show that had scenes of killing and some gore on one of the tvs which was in my 7 year old son's field of vision. Jack Astor's is not as family friendly as it used to be. What a shame read more

Very good as usual! I love that they have added their gluten free tags on the menu and vegetarian ones as well! I had the gluten free steak And frites! It was absolutely Amazing!! The fries were dusted in Parmesan and herbs while I ordered the mushroom sauce over my steak! It literally melted in my mouth! I wasn't very hungry, but I practically Licked my Plate lol My husband enjoyed his dinner, My kids ate all their food! We had fun scribbling all Over their table Covers and all the Tvs which have different videos playing which kept the kids entertained! The staff were good, except the wait to be seated which sometimes can be a drag... everything is really good read more

As far as Jack Astor's go this is likely the worst location I have frequented. Not sure what's going on with the host/s at this particular location but the other reviews are definitely experiencing what I did as well. We arrived and were told that if you wanted a booth you would have to wait maybe 20 minutes and we said sure. Over 45 minutes went by and when we asked what's going on the response we got was "well people are still sitting so we're not going to kick them out for you" It's to be noted that I never asked anybody to be kicked out all I asked was it's been twice the amount of time you asked us to wait.... How much longer can we expect because the kids in our party are now getting hungry. Also there were over six of them hanging out at the front flirting making jokes with each other none of them really doing their job to actually keep us informed and say hey looks like it's going to take a little bit longer would you like a table instead? The dinner service was equally disappointing. half of the people in our party got their food while the other half had to wait it was a giant mess as usual and assistant manager showed up Midway to try and salvage the remainder of the evening but frankly it was too late I will not be going back to this location. read more

Checked in at 4:30pm for a table for 2 and i was informed a 1 hour wait which is okay. One hour passed, i called and they told me i have to wait another hour, another hour passed and i was told again to wait. After 2 hours and 30 minutes finally got a table. And guess what? All the people who checked in after me are already done eating and leaving!! What the heck is that?! There's atleast 2 groups that I AM SURE CHECKED IN AFTER ME BUT GOT A TABLE FIRST. HOW UNFAIR IS THAT? I dont know what i did to piss the person in the front for her to push me further and further the waitlist but this fckery is UNFAIR. BEING TOLD A 1 HOUR WAIT TIME AND ACTUALLY WAITING 2 1/2 HOURS IS INSANE. WHATS MORE INSANE IS THAT PEOPLE BEHIND ME GOT A TABLE FIRST. GET YOUR SHT TOGETHER!! read more

I love Jack Astors food, especially the pan garlic bread, it has lots of flavour and is just amazing! On a typical Friday or Saturday there is always a wait for a seat but is never too long. Our waitress last night was super on top of the ball, except the pop came back diet but it seems everywhere we ask for lime they assume it's diet because alot of restaurants use that to tell the difference between regular and diet. I had the steak, it was my first time trying it, it comes with two sides, the baked potato was huge and good and the steak was OK, wasn't excellent but wasn't a steakhouse either. My boyfriend got the steak fajita like he always does, and it was excellent. It is always a hit and miss, sometimes it's really delicious and other times it barely has the meat cooked. I also find that MOST of the Jack locations are the same but then there are a couple who seem to follow their own ways the food is similar but not the same.. Overall, this location always seems to be great! read more

Popped in here on a Friday night with my girlfriends for a GNO. The line up to sit was crazy, we waited about 45 mins to get seated and that too we got the restaurant over the bar. the service was okay, managing for how busy the restaurant was, but it was more "flag me down when you decide" instead of "what can I get you today?" the food came out in a timely manner along with our drinks. The server was very interested in pitching a job there to us, letting us know how much he makes a year in tips (total turn off from the restaurant). I've always had a bad experience at restaurants in this plaza. there was nothing amazing about my visit nor was here anything horrific to complain about, definitely won't be a first option to return too. read more

*Update: I normally give second chances to restaurants that I give not so good reviews to, especially ones that I see room of improvements and potentials with a good solid brand. Considering my bot so good experience at this location, I went again for a second and final chance at this location. We arrived on a busy Saturday night, were told that there is a 45 minutes wait which was normal considering how busy the place is. We waited for about 10 minutes and we were called to the table, so that went better than expected. In terms of 'service' which It was a major flaw last time, it has improved dramatically, our server Rick was on point, professional and helpful. The food though seems to be going down in quality time after time at this location. We ordered Nachos with Chicken to start, the Chips were stale, the cheese they now use seem to be some cheap slices chess, none of that original mozzarella mix! Few pieces of chicken, and it literally had only few of the other toppings! I had to fish for the peppers, tomatoes, etc... I also ordered a NewYork steak, I asked for a baked potato to replace my mashed potato, and server said I Can't do that?! Why not? Not sure! My mashed potato had ZERO seasoning and tasted very flat! My steak that I ordered medium rare came more of a medium/medium well. Side of vegetables were simply steamed vegetables with zero flavour and seasoning! We also ordered salad with chicken, again zero flavour, flat dressing! Jack's used to be the leader in this category of restaurants! Whatever happened to your menu, your flavours! Such a shame to see a great brand like this go downhill, or at least this location specifically, as there are other locations that do much better still! My original 2 stars rating unfortunately go down to 1 Star now, and this will be the end of it for me at this location! So unfortunate! ........................... A very bad experience! The 2 stars are only: 1 * for the assistant manager on shift for trying to make our experience better, and the other 1 * for a server named Sarah, who got assigned to our table to fix things, she was nothing but professional and great! Starting with the host, the minute we entered the restaurant, she was neither friendly nor professional..while the other host guy next to her was clearly trying to patch things and being way more professional. We were taken to our little table all the way to the end of the restaurant literally by the kitchen door, stating that all booths are reserved! We were there for about two hours, and none of these booths got seated, and the restaurant was maybe 40% full in and out! We get our server 'Jeff' very quickly, greeted us and took our drinks and appetizers order. And that was the last time we ever saw or heard from Jeff. This guy was M.I.A , at least on our table as he was serving other tables all around us. After about 15-20 minutes, I had to stop one of the guys walking out of the kitchen, since I can't find my server! And told him about the appetizer, which then came out fairly quick after I asked..about 5 minutes. Then the drinks never came, I had to hunt another server 'Sarah' and asked for the drinks that never came and to locate and call my server! Again, the server never came! However, Sarah took over our table after that as advised by the assistant manager on shift. Who came and personally apologized for the experience, and offered us some discounts, which was a good touch from him. Sarah on the other hand, was an example of what a great server is...professional and treat her guests with a smile, very helpful, friendly and aware of the menu inside out! The food itself was mediocre, the menu have changed recently, so some of the classics are missing, plus the flavours are all over t read more

After it became impossible to find a decent place in uptown to watch UFC. We ended up looking for a go to place in the suburbs. This one fits the bill the steaks here are OK and they have humongous multi-panel screen. Beer selection is limited so I ended up with Stella. I had the butter brushed sirloin steak with a side of sweet potato fries. Buddy had the New York. The Steak was grilled to our liking and the meat was good (at these prices we were not expecting miracles). There is no cover for UFC and this place does get packed. One of the better spots to watch UFC IMO as the audio/video setup is really nice. 3.5 Stars for watching UFC. read more

Had a business lunch here yesterday. It was a very busy Friday but we were there early enough to be ahead of the crowd. I ordered the Jack Astors Garlic Bread (didn't know that a full loaf is 800 calories!!!) as the appie. I also ordered a basic salad with chicken. It tasted very good but our server (who was a delightful young lady) took forever to get me my meal. It makes it a little uncomfortable when your business prospect has to wait until you get your food!! It would have been a 4* if it weren't for the timing of the food delivery. read more

With great places to eat comes great waiting times...or not so great. But i have (happily) waited 40minutes to be seated at Jacks because for a franchise there is nothing else like it. Good food, good drinks and fun atmosphere. You walk in and you can literally feel yourself de-stress. The posters help. Try absolutely anything on their menu because its all good. I highly recommend the crab dip!! Their nachos are good too- i opt for sans chilli (too heavy) but thats just me. My faves: chicken parm & bowties, fajitas and fish&chips. I rarely go to Jack Astor's, probably about a few times a year. When I go, I always enjoy the food and I try to order different things every single time but the ONE ITEM I especially love is the Bruschetta they have that's under the appetizers section. Hands down the best bruschetta I've ever eaten. I always order it. This place is usually crowded, sometimes I have to wait 20-30 minutes for a table. I really enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. It's very loud but everyone who works there is so upbeat and happy that I do not mind it at all. They also make birthdays especially loud with their birthday song but I like it. If you don't like loud environments, this is probably not the place for you. Overall, I enjoy coming to Jack Astor's because the food and the service is always great! read more
