    Sad, bland chicken
    Helen L.

Came here for lunch, and it was meh? I ordered a fried chicken burger and fries, but the chicken was extremely bland. I liked how crispy it was, I guess... and the fries were good (but how can you mess up fries?). I was really hungry though, but I honestly could have saved the time and went to McDonald's. I'm not exaggerating when I say the chicken is bland. For how much it cost, absolutely not worth it. I'd get more flavour at a fast food joint. The POS machine was acting up so our server had difficulty getting it to work, and it took a long time to pay and leave. Other than the basic, bland food, the staff was friendly and tried their best!

As things are reopening, we decided to eat out again. Dropped here last weekend for lunch. We are glad to see they are doing a pretty good job with physical distancing and sanitizing. The wait time was about 35 minutes to get a patio table. Our server was nice, and prompt and apologized at the very beginning for the limited items menu (though we found the menu to be quite satisfactory). I had the Memphis Steak, my wife went for the Steak Fritters. Both were ok, may be a little dry. The presentation was nice for the Memphis. The veggies were crunchy.

The food is pretty decent for a chain sports bar. Chicken fingers are always my go to! However, the server was nowhere to be found and it was not busy at all... as this was during the week.

Brownie dessert in a mug - looks amazing but was dry and flavourless.

The service was quite slow. Our appetizer came out quickly, but our mains took forever. We had the calamari - it tasted very bland, even the dipping sauce couldn't save it. I had the fish and chips - the fries were cold and the fish had no flavour. The serving size is good for the price but all you're really getting is mediocre food in terms of taste and quality. We had the peanut butter brownie in a mug for dessert, which looked better than it tasted. The brownie was overcooked, hard, and flavourless. The service was fine in terms of efficiency, however it lacked warmth. Overall, I would not return here.

I'm not glad I came here for lunch at all. The service isn't the best . I had to sit on the fence because the beer has spilled and no one is cleaning it up. I guess I don't deserve to be treated like a human and instead feeling myself as a "chicken". The day is ruined for me . Thanks, server ! Update: the server did not wipe the table for 20-30 min. We had to grab the cleaning supplies from them and clean our selves ! What a great service !

Sampler!! 40 new beers added post Reno!

Very poor service . Understaffed for a Friday night, big time. Good vibes, but incredibly slow and not what we expected at all.

I've been to the Hoops downtown Toronto many times, but only because its closest place to get a beer during Fan Expo. The food was average at best so I didnt have high hopes for this location. We wandered in on a Friday night, and boy has it changed since The Smoke was there. There are tv's EVERYWHERE, which is pretty awesome. The place is pretty ugly though. Yeesh. Talk about drab. The staff are all very young and inexperienced, but very nice and accommodating, and got our orders perfectly. This place just opened so I'm sure it wont take long for them to feel more natural and at ease. The bar was impressive and has a great selection of liquors. This place will be perfect for anyone coming just to watch and game and have a drink. Cuz the food is not great. I ordered the special of the day, steak fajitas. They were awful. Steak was overcooked and bitter. Hard to bite through. The veggies were slimy. Yuck. My wife's chilli nachos were pretty good! Fyi there is no kid's menu, so we got our kid chicken fingers and fries. The fries were decent. The chicken fingers were bland but were cooked well and had an awesome crisp to them. But yeah bland chicken fingers. It was also drafty in there. Chilly. Not cozy. They did have a DJ there playing who was good, music gave a good vibe to the place for a Friday night. In the end this place feels like a pub from 15 years ago, when this kind of food was expected from a pub, before all the chain pubs stepped up their food game. Stick to the booze and enjoy the game, and you'll like this place. And hey the fries are good.

I decided to look at the menu, saw the lobster roll, and knew that I needed to order it. I love lobster rolls. I see it on a menu and I must order it. No thought required. Done! There are three COAST locations, all ghost kitchens, in the GTA. One is in downtown Toronto. Another is at the Firkin that I used to frequent at Yonge and Eglinton. The one is Vaughan is the latest addition, which is where I went last night. I placed my order through Uber Eats for pickup: - PEI lobster roll with COAST salad - Crispy COAST shrimp - Crème brûlée cheesecake - Superbowl Sunday special (free COAST fries when your order is $40 or more) The downside is that I got a general location as to where to go to pick up my food. I got to the plaza with Nations grocery store anchoring it. Where do I go next? Well, my prayers were answered when a nice person from COAST called me and said that my order was ready. He let me know that COAST is in The Moose, which is a Firkin pub. Yes, direction! I thanked him and parked closer to the pub. The Moose looks new and modern. It has patio heaters and is open for dining in, as is many eateries in York region now. I was greeted by a nice man. He asked for my order number. I showed it on my phone and he went to fetch my order. I saw this white paper bag with handles on the bar counter. He thanked me and handed it to me. I reciprocated. I could smell the fries through my mask. I was so excited and I headed over to my car. I got home and had dinner. I bought more than I could down, so I have leftovers today that I look forward to having I had a container full of salad. The PEI lobster roll was camouflaged by it. You can choose fries or salad as your side. Considering that I was going for free COAST fries, I settled for salad. I loved how much salad I got. The veggies were crisp and fresh. All I heard was my crunching on them. The salad dressing had balsamic vinegar, but it was subtle and didn't have a ton of sugar. I liked it a lot. My lobster roll was good. The lobster had generous chunks of real lobster in aioli, with chives and seasoning. Yum! The downside was the bun. The brioche bun needed to be softer and perhaps grilled more with butter. It would have made the experience nicer. It was a smaller roll than I had hoped for $20, but I had so much food that it was minor. What surprised me the most were the crispy COAST shrimp. They were super crispy. They had a bit of spice. The baby arugula balanced out the spiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed how crispy the whisper-thin batter coating each shrimp was. Perfection! I got the COAST fries on the house. The fries tasted so homemade, as if I had cut the fries myself, and someone did a better job at deep-frying them. It had Grana Padano cheese that I had never had. It tasted like parmesan, but milder. I loved it with the spicy aioli and chives. I love chives so much. I normally don't enjoy eating fries as a side, but I could do these any day. I have been good lately by not going overboard with desserts. However, I couldn't resist getting the crème brûlée cheesecake. Sadly, my slice got tossed around a tad in the container, so the pointy part of the slice was smashed. However, I ate it all, even with the whipped cream puddle next to it. I enjoyed this cheesecake slice a lot. It wasn't terribly sweet. The berry coulis on top provided a nice tartness and contrast. The crust was thin. The cheesecake was creamy and you could taste the beautiful crème brûlée flavour in each bite. It's a winner! I am eyeing the PEI lobster poutine, and COAST surf and turf burger next. I had a great experience. Prices do run steep, but it's worth treating yourself to fresh seafood and ingredients. (114)

Service was honest and helpful, and I appreciated being told which menu items to avoid. I ordered a pasta dish that was said to be one of the more seasoned options, but it still came out bland and needed more flavor. The portion was large enough for leftovers and the chicken was cooked well. I also had a watermelon martini, which was really good and one of the highlights. There's a long list of wing flavors, which seems to be what they're best known for. The bathroom situation was honestly unacceptable. One stall had no door and was completely out of service with a garbage bag covering the toilet. The remaining stall had broken fixtures, and there was a large hole in the wall. It felt neglected and more like a dingy club bathroom than a restaurant, which really took away from the experience and made me question the overall cleanliness behind the scenes. Some positives, but the bathroom condition needs serious attention.
