I wanted to like this place because it's across the street from my apartment, but I've been here a few times (with a scheduled appointment) and always had to wait WAY longer than expected and was disappointed by their lack of schedule/time management I called in and they told me to come in at 3:30. I come in and nobody is available and they didn't know what I wanted (even though I said it over the phone) AND THEN I get told that I will actually need to wait a little longer for what I wanted because they're busy....What's the point of calling to make an appointment? Then after all that, they tell me my nails were too short and couldn't do French tip... and then filed my nails unevenly... They take their time with gel and gel x application, but if they're going to take their time on services they need to learn to manage their schedule to accommodate and stop giving inaccurate appointment slots just to get people in... I really hate to leave bad reviews...but I've been to this salon more than a handful of times, mainly because it's conveniently located near where I live. And after giving them several chances, I've finally decided this will be my last visit. If I'm spending this much money, I expect a certain level of quality -- and this just isn't it. These pictures are after I pointed out how streaky and uneven the polish was. There were visible spots with no polish at all, and the finish was blotchy and chunky. You would think that being so close to my nails, the technician would notice that the polish wasn't applied evenly. But somehow, that wasn't the case. What's even more frustrating is that after two hours, I still had to point out what was wrong with each nail. That's not just disappointing -- it's baffling. How can someone not see the obvious issues in their own work? To be fair, there may have been a language barrier that contributed to some of the miscommunication. So that's something to consider if you're planning on coming here -- make sure to be extra clear about what you're asking for. Overall, maybe this level of service is their standard, but if so, it's a very low standard -- especially for the price they're charging. At this point, convenience just isn't worth the frustration. read more

I live in the area and was in need of a gel pedicure so I figured I'd give this new establishment a try. They use Square for making appointments but also take walk ins. I decided to do a walk in around 1:45pm on a Friday. Luckily there was no wait and I was taken back to the spa chair. They have about (4) spa pedicure chairs total so a little more intimate setting. Someone else was getting their lashes done in the back room and another one was getting a full set. Overall the location is very well designed and is very clean. I had Anna for my pedicure who I believe is a new tech since she was getting some coaching throughout my service. Overall she did a great job and although it was timely (1.5hrs for my deluxe package gel pedicure) she took her time to make sure it was perfect. Their color selection is minimal compared to my usual place, but I will say the colors they do have are stunning and unique. Everyone was very nice and welcoming; I'm sure over time as they pick up in business they will get faster at their services. It's not a bad thing, just something that will take time. I hope they stick around and that people give them a shot because they have a solid place of business that deserves it. read more

I wanted my nails done before the blackpink concert tomorrow so I scrambled to find a place that would take walk-ins on a Saturday. The girls at J2 are very friendly. Jessie did my manicure today and she is very friendly and attentive to detail. Because they do Chinese style manicure their approach is more meticulous and a little slower than some other salons, so this is place may not be suitable for you if you are not ok with sitting down for a couple hours for a manicure. I brought a reference picture for the nail design I wanted and Jessie did a great job replicating it and was great about doing revisions when I requested something to be done differently. read more

Very spur of the moment I decided to take my 7 year old daughter for her first pedicure today and chose this place by random, based on location and reviews. I am so glad we did! The employees are all very friendly and I am sure we would have been happy with anyone. They gave my daughter the exact treatment as any other customer, with the addition of a couple nail stickers and she was over the moon. I've been to this nail salon a few times, and loved my nails done by Jessie, she always does a great job. I called ahead to schedule an appointment specifically with Jessie, and the lady on the phone confirmed that she would be available on Thursday at 3 PM. Perfect, great. However, when I arrived at 3 PM, Jessie was still finishing up with another client, which I didn't mind waiting for. But then, another staff member asked me to take a seat and started doing my nails. I was hesitant because I specifically requested Jessie due to a previous experience where another technician cut my cuticles and made me bleed. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the same lady doing my nails again. I was told she would shape my nails until Jessie was free, which I thought would be okay--until she cut my cuticles again, and yes, I bled. At that point, I requested to wait for Jessie, as that's who I had originally asked for. I should have spoken up sooner, but the salon was busy, and I wanted to be understanding. Ultimately, I ended up spending THREE hours there due to their poor time management. So..just know if you request a certain nail technician you may or may not get them. This is the first place I have found where gel nails actually last 3 weeks or more. Betty did my first gel manicure and she took her time setting the foundation, with her attention to details on the prep. They take their time and don't rush. The salon is very quiet for the most part, so it's great if you just want a break from your everyday noise. The only time it felt rush was getting my pedicure done. I guess the only person who was available had to leave right after as it was nearing closing time. But other than that, I have no complaints and will definitely continue to come here. read more

I came in to get gel manicure and regular pedicure - they were very careless about cleaning my cuticles, used their electric nail drill to remove my skin and shave down my nails to the point that it hurt even after I told them that I have thin nails and want to avoid harsh filing. Also, they didn't clean under my toe nails which I had to point out which they seemed confused about and didn't even know what tool is used to do that and told me that they only have a toothpick to clean under the toes. I've been here several times as it is conveniently located by my residence and have had the best experience here. I typically get a gel pedicure and hard get manicure and have noticed a great improvement in the health of my nails. The technicians here take their time unlike other places where they want to get you in and out quick. I have come in and showed pictures of the designs I want and they gave me exactly what I requested. It's not super busy and is very calm and quiet. However, the length of time my appt took was very long. My appt was for 315 and they finished my nails at 530. All I had on before this was GelX and I asked for a fill and they said that I should do gel builder I think it's called? It was the same price so I said ok. I requested almond shape, I had round before this. But the shaping isn't what took a long time. It was the polish. We did 3 coats but her way of doing it was 3 nails at a time and then putting it under the light. It took quite awhile, and I felt bad the staff was waiting to close the shop down but I was holding them up. Anyway, needs work in the speed department. Won't be back unfortunately. Timing is a big thing for me and that nail service shouldn't take that long. Maybe she was new though. Definitely the cheapest nail salon I've gone to but also one of the few times I decided to grow my nails out and do regular gel nails rather than gel-x. I also appreciated that I wasn't pressured into getting a gel-x because I tend to get that a lot at other nail salons. I got a gel manicure and the signature pedicure for $88. I feel like this is one of the only times I got exactly what I wanted! I was influenced by social media and the OPI bubble bath/funny bunny trend. I've gotten my acrylic nails filled here twice since it's convenient and close to home. I like the outcomes of both visits but with one simple complaint. They don't drill down the natural nail under the acrylic! After both visits I had to come home and use my own nail drill to drill down the growth of my natural nail to make it flush with the acrylic. My nails naturally lift and separate from the acrylic after a few weeks and I wish they took the time to make the natural nail flush before completing the set. I've never been to a nail salon that didn't do this and I feel like this missing this simple step is what makes me hesitant to come back. Aside from that, the salon is clean but they don't have many workers, so call ahead because they will ask you to come back at a different time if they can't accommodate. read more
