As I was showing her my ID, my thumb was slightly covering the barcode. Instead of politely asking me to move my thumb, she yelled, "YOU'RE BLOCKING IT." After I repositioned my hand, she followed it up with, "TURN IT AROUND. THANKS FOR THE 3D LOOK, SHEESH!" It was bizarre and completely unnecessary. Just a few days earlier, I was using self-checkout when the scanner wouldn't read my ID. Rather than waste everyone's time fighting with the machine, I quietly backed out and decided to use the express checkout instead. The self-checkout attendant immediately started yelling, "SIR, WAIT! SIR!" as I walked away. As far as I know, I'm free to change my mind about where I check out, so I simply kept walking. Two negative experiences in the span of three days tells me this isn't just one employee having a bad day. It left me with the impression that poor customer service is accepted at this location. We come here as paying customers and deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I hope management takes a closer look at how employees interact with patrons and raises the standard for customer service.
