Another great experience at Texas Roadhouse! Our server, Elijah, was the bee's knees super knowledgeable, checked in with us often, and had no issues helping us with to-go packaging. The food came out hot, everything was smooth, and we were in and out in about 45 minutes. I really appreciated how calm and professional the entire staff was. I'll definitely be returning to this location. And let's be real... the rolls were absolutely elite.

So I did take out... the pickup spot is behind the restaurant... clean and. Easy. The young man bringing out your order was super nice, and pleasant. And the food was good... not great but good for the price. I got the catfish 4 pieces the Mac n cheese was terrible basically they didn't take the time to stir it. The catfish absolutely is the star wish they had hush puppies. The mushrooms I tasted didn't hit the spot but were good. The bread and cinnamon butter ... oh boy yeah they start at a 3 with the bread and butter... the potato skins ummm I don't know super heavy and greasy but how do you complain it had bacon ...

I'm not really a door dash or Uber Eats kinda girl cuz there so many things I don't like reheated or not piping hot (like French fries) but today I didn't feel like eating out or cooking. So I decided to order a family take out meal from Texas Roadhouse. I was a little skeptical but I was majorly surprised! I didn't do steak because I would have to be pretty desperate to get takeout steak but mainly because you could only order it medium or well done and I'm DEFINITELY not into that. So I got the chicken critter family meal. It comes with 24 critters, two sides, a giant salad and 12 rolls and butter. Plenty of food for 4 people. I just put in the time I wanted pickup, texted when I got there and they brought it out to me me within a minute of my arrival. Everything was piping hot and the critters were crispy. They didn't forget a thing and all in all it was an easy, tasty dinner. It was $44 which breaks down to $11 a person and I don't even know if I could get it that cheap at McDonalds anymore. Anyway, give it a try if you're so inclined! I thought it was as well worth it!X

We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Chesapeake square on Sunday evening. It wasn't as busy as it normally was but still had a crowd. It was clean but the womens bathroom was very small, crowded, and a bit slippery. We were sat immediately. Nya was our server. She was absolutely amazing with her hospitality. She was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended a few options. Our food and drinks came out quickly. My prime rib was a bit more on the rare side but that was fine with me. The sweet potato was to die for. As always the Cesar salad had a lot of dressing but I think that's just the way it is at every location. My Jamaican cowboy drink was delicious but one was enough for me. We paid with the tablet at the table which was convenient. All in all I'll be back :)

We honestly had a great experience. I don't understand why the stars are really low. Our waitress she was amazing, the food was all fresh and hot. For having peanuts be some thing that is given out in this restaurant, the floors were significantly clean, and the bathrooms were well kept. The bathroom having a changing table was a plus. As you can see in my pictures, some of the food had already been eaten because it was so good, I almost forgot to take pictures. Prices weren't too bad either. We luckily had 2 veterans vouchers, which were given out on Veterans Day, to use for a different day, which we liked, so we didn't have to be involved in all the chaos. If you're looking for a good Texas roadhouse, this is the one to go to!

Was craving the bread and butter. Waited roughly 10 minutes in a Friday evening. No complaints at all, food was good and service was great. Loved the local decor with the ODU sign as well.

This is normally where my daughter likes to spend her birthday because she can get a good steak. This is the first time in a long time that we have ever been so disappointed in Texas roadhouse first of all I understand the business game and that you need to make money, but there is a point where overcrowding is beyond it was to the point that I couldn't even eat my salad because the waitresses butt was so close to our table. That's all I saw. Let's not mention the fact that the salad was supposed to come with other things on it. That was missing. They never brought my son's girlfriend vegetables out until we asked Four to go containers. Normally Texas roadhouse sides are very well seasoned and very well handled everything that they brought out to us I was utterly disappointed we ordered appetizers and we got the combo plate. The buffalo chicken bites were dry. The alligator bites had more cheese and jalapeño, and whatever seasoning they've changed to for their fried pickles had more salt than a salt Mine Now let's move onto the entrées. My daughter asked for sauté shrimp came on a skewer over top of what we thought look like fried rice if Texas Roadhouse has gotten into the Asian market and start making fried rice. They have utterly failed. then there was the mac & cheese it had no flavor. It tasted like they took some Velveeta melted it down and added a block of Swiss and that was it very Bland My salad was missing onions and croutons so literally I just had lettuce, tomatoes and steak as you can see from the photos my son's cheeseburger look like well. It came from McDonald's just lean to the side no presentation no Care in the world the amount of people in there I would assume that the kitchen was rushed, no pride in their work no Care in the world. I felt like I was in the ER of restaurants where we are going to freedom and Street them. I struggle really hard to give it to three stars. The only reason why I gave it three stars is because the waitress was so nice very attentive and when she found out their food was missing items she assured us that she normally will run her own food so she can check and make sure everything is there, but I'm assuming because it was so overly packed she didn't have time to do that. Needless to say Texas roadhouse will no longer be on our list..

Custom 32oz with a loaded baked potato.

First time coming here. We've always avoided it because it's usually packed and loud. But today they weren't. Staff was very friendly and charismatic, and they all seemed to be having a good time. I picked out a custom 32oz with a Loaded Baked Potato and Caesar Salad. The steak and potato were absolutely killer! Perfectly cooked medium rare, juicy and tender. The potato was well balanced with the fixings and the skin had a rock salt crust on it, ooooh my God! Our server Jackie, was super sweet and took excellent care of us. I call this my redemption steak. As all the high-end steak houses in the area have let us down for birthdays, anniversaries etc. We will return. And if this kind of experience is consistent there I will update with a solid 5.

Time your visit well, and you'll be rewarded with a sunset that is nothing short of spectacular--an ideal backdrop for an already memorable dining experience. The restaurant strikes a rare balance: refined without being pretentious. The atmosphere leans toward fine dining, yet the dress code is refreshingly unforced. Jackets and ties coexist comfortably with shorts and flip-flops--a subtle nod to Chesapeake's "come as you are" sensibility. Whether you arrive by boat or by car, the experience begins the moment you step inside. We started with the ahi carpaccio and a classic Caesar salad--both fresh, well-composed, and thoughtfully prepared. For entrées, my wife chose the crab-stuffed shrimp, finished with a lemon-herb beurre blanc and accompanied by sautéed vegetables. It was an excellent dish--rich, balanced, and, notably, not shared. I opted for the 13-ounce New York strip with a garlic and herb demi-glace. Cooked to a precise medium-rare, the steak was properly seasoned and executed with confidence. In a moment of generosity, I offered a few bites across the table--well received, though her loyalty remained with her own selection. From the waterfront setting to the attentive service and well-crafted cuisine, Amber Lantern delivers a dining experience that feels both special and approachable. It's a place worth seeking out--and returning to.

They need a better management team in there to overlook everything. Everything got late to our table. It wasn't our waitress fault she was so apologetic. I really want more for this place. Our server Whitney was great. We wanted to order the whipped bone marrow appetizer but it was sold out and they were going to rotate it off of the next seasonal menu. So we ordered the Crab Dip, whic came ith some toasted crostini. It had an amble amout of crabmeat with a hint of dill and a little heat. We got some rosemary dinner rolls with whipped butter to start. They were nice and fluffy and light. The Brussel sprouts were sweet and crunchy with the bacon onion jam, not bitter at all. I enjoy the lamb chops, which were not at all gamey and seasoned just right. The collard greens paired nicely (not to vinegary), with the smoked gouda grits. My husband ordered the KC Strip per Whitney's recommendation. He enjoyed the smoked flavor complemented by the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. He was afraid it was going to be too lean but the marbling was great. For dessert we ordered the bacon brownie chocolate chip cookies. There were 2 with chocolate fudge drizzle served with Gelato. The cookies were warm, salty and decadent sweet. We also received complementary champagne to toast our anniversary. It was a great night.

So booking a reservation for mother's day brunch was a no brainer for me and I was super excited. Upon arrival I was seated immediately. The service Kyle came over almost immediately and explained the mimosas. We received water and our drinks and then it was all downhill from there. We proceeded to sit and wait for 40 very long minutes for our food. This was supposed to be an "all you can eat" toppas type of situation. It made me wonder was this done by design to control the amount of food that was being served??? Idk? I will say that as I looked around this was happening to everyone not just my table. As previously mentioned I've been to this restaurant several times because the food is Always delicious and the service was 5 stars. The food was not good this time. We tried steak and eggs, Deviled eggs, French toast, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, crab cake with Hollandaise sauce and yogurt ,with berries and granola. The server didn't ask what temperature we wanted our steak. My steak was medium well and the other steak was rare. We weren't told it was over easy eggs. 1 of us would have preferred scrambled. The only thing I loved was the shrimp and grits and the yogurt and berries. I will also add that $50 was taken off the bill and they comped my drinks. This was greatly appreciated. Had this gesture been accompanied with a pleasant attitude it would have been greatly appreciated.

Just for your awareness, there's a dresscode here, and rightly so, it's definitely an upscale restaurant. We sat at a hi-top in the bar area, which is a nice, cellar-looking area in the lower level of the restaurant. Our server was excellent! She explained that she's one of the sommeliers there and provided some pretty good feedback on their wine selection. Their menu is fairly typical of upper-end, prime steakhouses. There were many appetizing items to choose from, I had a tough time deciding. I was leaning towards their fried shrimp entrée, especially after seeing other people's pictures of it on social media. I would never normally get this, but their shrimp pics looked amazing. I started with their Greek salad - This was a HUGE salad, big enough for an entrée, especially if you add a protein to it. It was fabulous! Lots of fresh veggies in it, the dressing was excellent, and the flavors were so very good! This is definitely worthy of splitting, which I'll do next time I return. Next up was my entrée and I chose their smaller filet with an add-on of fried shrimp. I really wanted to try this shrimp and this was a way that I could try their beef and the shrimp and this was an absolutely AMAZING entrée selection!! The shrimp were HUGE! They were perfectly and beautifully battered and fried and looked stunning! The steak was spot-on! I ordered medium rare plus and if I had to guess from looking at it, it was probably 134-135 degrees! The flavor was great too! Their steak is definitely worthy of eating without any add-on or sauce. For sides we tried their Mashed Potatoes and their Haricot Verts and both were outstanding! The nice thing about this place is they actually list half portions of sides in their menu! Many places offer it, but you have to ask and if it's just two people dining, half portions are the perfect size. Save room for dessert, they offer many options! In my case, I was so full, I simply opted for a scoop of their blood orange sorbet and it was the best finish for a great dinner. Definitely will return and would recommend Byrd & Baldwin Bros for a nice evening and great dinner experience!
