I'm not a huge fan of fast food. I don't find myself eating many burgers. However, I still love getting Five Guys a few times a year. The burgers are made to order, which is why I suggest using the app. It's so easy to choose your toppings without the stress of forgetting one when it's your turn at the register. My go to order is the little cheeseburger. Little isn't little by any means though. That thing fills me up and I always have leftover fries. They are extremely generous with their fry portions. I love the kick that the cajun fries have. This location is close to my house so when the craving hits- I head here (or get it delivered). My most recent visit was during COVID-19 times and the experience was great. I ordered on the app, called when I arrived, and my food was out in minutes! No need to get out of my car. read more

I swear, I'm part squirrel, because I always am astonished with how many mini clam shells of their peanuts I can WHAMMO before picking up our carry out order to go from this amazing place. These burgers are made right before your eyes if you want to dine in. Fun fact: if you're calling ahead for pick up, they wait and Snoop Dogg your fries once you get there (aka-drop em in the oil so they'll be hooooot) ha! Five stars for Five Guys. read more

Pretty easy 4 star on this first visit and other Yelpers nailed it. Everything was pretty much text book great! Location is Hilltop West which is confusing on this corner. It's directly faces Laskin frontage road on the East side of First Colonial. Surface parking is directly in front and was tidy as was walk up to their door. The store looks like all the others, so nothing special but that's ok. My visit on a weekday around 1 PM. The dining room was empty and spotless clean. We planned on eating in so happy to see it was clean. I also utilized the Men's room in the rear which had proper supplies and immaculate. The automatic towel machine was huge, interesting. Good for not having to refill often. The cashier greeted my son and I walking in and took our burger orders with fries. We asked for the fries to be crispy. Drinks was courtesy water. She was upbeat and friendly. The $23 transaction was processed flawlessly. It's pricey. The cheese burgers tasted really good and fries were made to my specifications. The burgers also were made correctly. Five Guys never freezes their meat and it's a quality product. The bread was also fresh. This is the best Virginia Beach Five Guys I've dined at and will make a point to return. read more

Love me a good burger and fries!! This restaurant serves up a good burger and hand cut fries. The burgers are made to order and you can choose all the toppings you want. I ordered the little cheeseburger protein style (no buns) so it was wrapped in lettuce and I added more veggies in. The kids ordered a hotdog and we also got large fries and shakes to go with the rest of the order. The fries are fresh and hand cut and they give you a lot so it's enough to share with a bunch of people. Staff here was friendly and the inside itself was clean with lots of tables to eat. They have lots of locations so you can be sure there's one near you. read more

Mmmmmmmm who doesn't love a good burger. Silly me I added an extra patty on an already double cheese-bacon-burger.. three patties were huge for me! Bacon could've been less crispy borderline burnt, just my preference. Five guys never disappoints. read more

We spent $108 for four people. It's just too much money to get the order this wrong. We asked the driver to go pick up missing food and tip her again but she is too busy. Uber eats doesn't answer their phone and neither does five guys --everyone is busy. So this review has only to do with their "Veggie" sandwich. I thought I would cut some calories when I was with others at Five Guys. Unfortunately, I thought that the "Veggie" was actually a veggie burger. It's my own fault for not reading the little caption underneath, but when I got my "sandwich" or whatever you want to call it, I was extremely disappointed. Everyone around me was eating such great-looking food, and I got this skimpy looking thing with just sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, some lettuce, and tomatoes, on a toasted bun. Adding cheese would have made it 100% more tolerable, but also 100% more fattening. So oh well. I would not recommend this to other vegetarians looking for a good meal at a fast-food place. One perk though is that it is only $2.69 I gave the actual location 4 stars, because they did an awesome job with my friend's burgers and they were amazingly friendly. #YEFit2015 read more

One of the biggest tells about the integrity and service of a business is how they handle difficult and disruptive situations. When I arrived at this location, it was a Sunday afternoon and I had just left the beach ahead of thunderstorm. By the time I arrived at this location, the storm was in full effect. It had caused a quick power surge throughout the area. It knocked out the power to their grill and all of their fryers. Yet, despite having several people waiting for quite some time and more customers coming in out of the storm, most of the employees seemed in good spirits and were very friendly. The gentleman at the register warned us that there would be a longer than usual wait due to the power surge and them trying to troubleshoot their equipment. We weren't in a hurry to get back on the road so we elected to wait since it seemed they had the situation under control. They somehow already had a Coca-Cola rep out to get their soda machines back up and running. Part of the reason we decided to stay and get food here rather than go to the dozens of other food places in Hilltop that probably had working equipment was because of the friendliness of the employees here. It was clear they were dealing with the stress of the situation but they still had a genuine happy and accommodating demeanor which can be hard to find in times of duress in the service industry. After they got everything back up and running, we got our food. They loaded our burgers and fries like crazy. It was great. Some places would have annoyed employees that would skimp for being troubled by customers when dealing with an issue but these guys did it right. They were pleasant and honest about the situation and the food came out great and was worth the wait. A+ to these guys for representing their brand well when dealing with a major annoyance in equipment malfunction. The other patrons that had been waiting longer than us all seemed to be pleased with the service as well, one guy even going back up to tip while still waiting in his food but munching on some peanuts. My only issue was that the music was way too loud and some tables could have used some love. Other than that, great service and great product. read more

I have a secret. Shhhhh....don't tell anyone, but this is my go to spot to indulge in junk food! After eating a small cheese burger and small fry here. I'm all set for the next 3 months when it comes to junk food. Admit it, you like this place too! I know you do! I can see you reading this review and grinning from ear to ear! And the peanuts they have, OUTSTANDING!! The only thing that I don't care for at this place is that the music is so loud, I feel as if I'm in a mosh pit during a punk concert. And dude! Those days are so over for me! LOL..... The way that I see it, if you normally eat healthy, it's okay to throw down on a little junk food! So go for it, I won't tell anyone! read more

The burgers fries and shakes here r absolutely delicious. Love coming here. However when I leave i want to scream because the music so loud and distracting that it is a hard place to come and enjoy your burger and other food. I'm sure the music is in here for the people who are working here and NOT for the clientele. read more

Where do I go when I want to hate my waistband and myself? I go to five guys! This place is so fantastic and the service and burgers are always so good! Always made fresh! Fries are pretty good too a little bit on the greasy side but when I am craving fries or a burger this is the place I come to! They also have free peanuts you can eat! Prices are decent but the quality of the burger is what makes the price! What do you expect to get for a $1 burger? Anyway, ever since I got pregnant I have been craving burgers and this is the only place I trust with a quality burger! Please stop in and also try their veggie sandwich! read more

No doubt --- the emphasis at Five Guys is on the food, and speed. Big, juicy hamburgers/cheeseburgers, made from fresh ground beef, hand-formed into huge patties and served with all the fixins'. Snap-when-you-bite-'em hot dogs, also with all the fixins'. A pound+ of french fries per serving, fresh-cut and piping hot, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Serve-yourself soft drinks, tea and condiments. All of this in a no-frills, white-walls-with-red-accent-stripes-and-Five-Guys-posters restaurant environment, complete with industrial-strength tables and chairs and fly-zappers on the walls. And customers come in, they order at the counter's "Order Here" sign, they get a number, they pick up their food at the counter when it's ready, they eat, and they leave. Come in, order, eat, leave. Yep, fast food. Very efficient, very good burger-and-fry food --- but not much on restaurant atmosphere, or server personality. A fast food business model, I guess --- and, judging from their nationwide success, one that works very well for them. If you're in the mood for good burgers and fries --- I mean, you just want to stuff your face with them --- Five Guys is your place. If you're in the mood for good burgers and fries, plus a little restaurant atmosphere and personality, maybe not so much. read more

Still a go to spot. I think the extra few bones for a burger is worth it. I usually get the cheeseburger "all the way". My fiancée gets a little bacon cheeseburger that ends up in mah belly after she has three bites and gives up. Next time, she gonna get a kids meal or somethng. Maybe just the peanuts. Ha. read more

I love Five Guys. The burgers are always fresh, toppings are overflowing, and the ridiculous amount of perfectly cooked fries that they throw in the bag always make me smile. Double cheeseburger with tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, grilled jalapenos, A-1, and mayo with a side of Cajun fries always equals a damn good day. And the icing on the cake is the Coke machine. I love these dispensers. Any and almost any Coke flavored product that you can think of right there waiting for you. Cherry vanilla is still my favorite but I'm starting to like raspberry lime diet cokes as well. Best place to go for a good burger and fries. read more

Food is good of course, it's five guys. But owner, why have online ordering if you don't start the food until I show up? That defeats the entire purpose. I ordered early so it's ready when I arrive and they didn't start on my order until I checked in at the pick up counter. Come on man. That's pretty crappy. read more

Seriously.... you guys..... In N Out and Red Robin's taste better than Five Guys.... I do not want to do the injustice of placing these guys on the same pedestal alongside In N Out, Shake Shack, and Red Robin's. But the service was excellent. The burger must be improved. monday -- lunchtime. this review is not about the food, it's about the workers. there were only two workers! Nicole & Jamie --- they rocked that joint for two workers and a fairly flowing amount of patrons. while one was on the register, the other was on the grill, then the'd move to the fry-er and prep table. when they had down time, one was out in the dining room cleaning up while the other finished the fries/grill, OR cleaning the kitchen. i was so impressed with them. i asked their names and plan to let FIVE GUYS know about their duo-awesomeness! she wondered why, and telling my reasons she was relieved and thankful that someone noticed. awesome job jamie and nicole! ps -- as always, i enjoy the food and the soda machine is always fun :) now, i want peanuts.... read more

Love the food here . I never stay and eat cause I hate hard seats but nonetheless I guess it's ok. Food is pricey . After a double cheeseburger and a small fry ( which they dump fries in a bag and consider it a small- WINNING!) you're still paying $12+ not including a drink. After a drink your at sit down restaurant prices . That's why they didn't get the 5 star. Other than that it's delish! read more

When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. I subbed the raw onions for grilled onions (highly recommend), and it was perfection. Juicy, crispy-edged, flavorful ... everything a smash burger should be. I truly can't express how good this place is. The service was great, the food was unreal, and I'm already planning my next visit. Next time, I'm definitely trying their espresso martini. The Bad: Finding this place is a pain especially if you are not familiar with the beach area and the noise level is quite loud as it is inside a garage. The server (at the bar) was very friendly and it was a quick meal, under 30 minutes. Hindsite: only get 1 fry and save room for the banana pudding the next time. We will return for sure.

Between the atmosphere, service, location, pricing, and quality of the food, this was an easy 5-star experience for me. It's only about a block from the beach, and to top it off they offer complimentary valet parking, which was a huge plus in the Virginia Beach area. We ordered the happy hour raw oysters ($12 for 12) and the "Oysters Rock" ($12 for 12), and both were outstanding. The Oysters Rock were very similar to Oysters Rockefeller and were perfectly done -- rich, flavorful, and cooked just right without overpowering the oyster itself. The East Coast oysters on the half shell were also excellent. I'm not exactly sure where on the East Coast they were sourced from, but they were a good size with deep cups and loaded with oyster liquor -- fresh, clean, and briny in the best way possible. The drinks were one of the biggest surprises. A generous-sized martini for $4 and a large mojito for $4? In a nice restaurant this close to the beach? That's almost unheard of these days. The well rum was only $2 and the well gin was $4. Incredible happy hour prices all around. The hush puppies ($20 for two orders) were very good too, although I would've liked a little more crab in them. The only real markdown of the meal was the Hamachi sashimi/yellowtail ($12 happy hour price). It tasted fine, but the portion was definitely on the small side and didn't really feel worth the price compared to everything else we ordered. We also tried the calamari ($12), shrimp flatbread ($9), and elote ($14), and overall the food quality across the board was very solid. Service from Leanon was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. I live in California but travel to Virginia Beach frequently, and this place has officially moved near the top of my must-return list every time I'm in town. Great seafood, great vibe, amazing happy hour pricing, and a perfect beach-area location. Hard to beat.

I've never been rude to this man I'm a quiet person so I usually order wait and leave.
