Been coming here for about 10 years, always with my two red poodles who aren't part of this review…read morebut just so the staff can easily identify me. The younger taller gentleman, I don't know his name but he has an accent that sounds Persian, was unexpectedly dismissive today, nearly from the moment I entered. I asked him about the sale that last time he told me was going to be in September. He said try again in October I said when in October he said actually December and still didn't give a specific date. Okay, that still wasn't the reason I'm leaving this review. I casually started browsing some of the beautiful Italian shirts and without me even asking him a question he yelled across the store none of those will fit you. Look my guy, I am 8% body fat, and a semi-Pro cyclist. I'm skinnier than you and you are pretty slim. Looks like the same guy I made almost the same insulting comment to another customer a while back according to these reviews. Then he almost seemed annoyed that I continued to browse and said out loud what exactly are you looking for as if I was invading his store and/or annoying him. At this point, this was the second or third last chance. WhileI didn't feel he was entitled to an answer, since at this point I knew he wasn't going to respond with anything helpful. I told him I was looking for a wrinkle resistant white dress shirt. Immediately responded, we don't have any of those. I had already seen at least two maybe, more of them. That was it. I told him, it seems like I am bothering you and told him I'm leaving. At that point he tried to insist that he had not intended to be rude. He either intended to be or couldn't even tell that he was. Either way, it's a problem. I used to like this guy and the store for I was going out of my way to try to support local business and not just buy everything online but he is making it exceedingly difficult to support local businesses in Danville. Sincerely, Nick C.

I asked if I could try it on, he didn't offer btw, pointed to the dressing room, which has no mirror inside? Never seen that! Before I walk in, he tells me, "I don't think it will fit you it's a slim cut." I'm 6'-2" 200 w a 34" waist. Even if it was true what a thing to say! I tried it on anyway, it was really nice! $180.00 it was just one size to small L, says "he could order an XL. " Yea, I'm leaving and never coming back here again.

I won't shop there any more. A toy I bought there today for $45 costs between $19 (Target) and $23 (anywhere else). Double? They mark it up double? I've known I pay more for convenience but twice or more is over the top greed. I like supporting small businesses but not when they rip me off to that excess.

For this, i'd give 5 stars. The staff, in my experience is also a 5. They have always been courteous to me and I always find something to buy albeit not from the "older" section. Although back in the day, I could always find a pair of pantyhose for those corporate parties. As others have said, I like the selection of items. Great gifts for parties and the free gift wrapping make McCaulous a local favorite. Being retired now, I wanted to pick up some fun work and went in to apply for a job since their Hiring sign has been up for some time. Heck, if they hire young kids, why not me? It was clear that they had no interest in me from the moment they looked me in the eyes and had me complete their one page paper application on th spot. The manager that day looked briefly at my application and said the manager would call me back the following week. Well, I had to call three times before speaking with a manager. When I asked about my application , she said that she didn't think that they were hiring. Um, then why is the hiring sign still up. So, there are big problems here. 1. Why do you need my address? and 2. Why do you need to know how long I have lived there? As I mentioned these areas to the manager, I explained that these questions lead to bias. She seemed to understand and said she would share my concerns. I stated that my intent is not to cause a problem. My intent is only to share my perspective and advice and hope that there would be change. She let me know that Mr. McCaulou has been running the business for over 40 years. I said that it shows. Practices have changed you know. Next time you are shopping here please look around at the staff. I'm a 60 yo Asian woman who just wants to work, and even weekends but I don't fit their criteria obviously. I'll still shop here about once or twice a year but will always be disappointed that they are not inclusive and have a bias that hopefully is unconscious. If management is reading this review, please look at how you are hiring and come out of the 60's in your HR practices.

Mind you, this store only has one of each size out on the floor so you HAVE to rely on staff in order to ****ing buy anything. My partner and I came in to buy 4 shirts, shoes, shorts, a tie, and potentially even a suit. We asked to see the shirts to which the employee gave us a HUGE attitude and refused to go in the back or even use the store device to check for other sizes?? He handed us a shirt in the wrong color & size from off the floor instead, saying "well, they all have the same fit so..." which I don't understand because the store is only about 400 sq feet, we were the only customers there, and there's only sample sizes so it's not like he has to standardize anything??? Not to mention, we were in about four hours before closing, so I can't think of any reason for this unwillingness to help. Any time we asked to try on something, we were met with some excuse to not have it. I can only assume that the staff here doesn't work on commission because we even asked to order stuff that wasn't available in-store to which we were told to just "do it [ourselves]" on the phone. I worked in retail for seven years, and am always cautious to treat other staff members with utmost respect, but the way this particular employee behaved towards my partner was completely unprofessional and outright ugly. Completely disappointed. Despite loving the clothing here, we certainly won't be back -- and seeing how many other one star reviews there are for the terrible service... I definitely think management should look into improving their hiring practices.

I have always had difficulty in finding good fitting shirts, but Abdel's total understanding of what would work well was truly spectacular!! His understanding of fit and sizing were fantastic. It had been our first time to UNTUCKit (love the name!!) and really just came to look. With Adbel's great assistance, we left with six great fitting shirts. The selection inside had pretty much all the styles that I saw online. I spoke to Victoria, and she was very eager and helpful. She pointed out that for sizing they have a rack of designated shirts you can try before heading around to pic a style after confirming your fit. When it was clear that I was going to buy something, the other sales people started to hover around me trying to help. But I let them know Victoria was already working with me, so they couldn't cut into her sales commission. Unfortunately, I discovered that I needed a size larger, um more accommodating, than I had hoped. I ended up requiring a harder to find size, which they didn't have in the patterns I wanted at the store. Victoria was able to find one online that I could order and have sent to me. She said the window would be 4 - 7 days max. It ended up being 8, so I missed it for the occasion I was hoping to wear it for. So a word of warning--they ship via DHS, which is often terrible. But I eventually got it, and it looked good. Abdul also helped with the online ordering, so I appreciated that. There's plenty of free mall parking.
