Halfway through my year of making only secondhand clothing purchases, I'm thankful that I discovered Rechic 101 (thanks to fellow Yelpers!) This consignment boutique is charming, well-organized, and tastefully curated. I went home with J. Crew, Madewell, and Anthropologie items in great condition (multiple with original tags!) at an affordable price. In addition to pre-loved clothing, shoes, and accessories, Rechic carries new gift items (home decor, stationary, gift bags, etc.) and jewelry from local artisans. Rechic Boutique is a chic little consignment store, run and managed by Jennifer who's a lifelong Orindaian. She has excellent taste and the store is a mixed of seasonal clothes and cute knickknacks, such as candles and stationary. Rest assured, there are some new items so buying a gift here would not be an issue. The only problem is what to buy! I definitely recommend stopping by here to browse on the way over to Walnut Creek or on the way back to San Francisco. Geppetto's Caffe is next door and makes a killer sandwich. I wanted to update my review now that Rechic is under new ownership. The store has drastically changed in my opinion; it is now a more curated and organized shopping environment that truly feels special! No longer a place for just young women and teens to shop, but all ages! An array of different brands/labels and sizes too! Maureen is a gem. So friendly and you can tell she pours her heart into Rechic. From the customers to the merchandise, she really cares. Consigning is easy and effortless. Price points are fair and reasonable for both the seller and buyer. I have a pleasant experience each time I stop in, and so far I've left with something new to add to my closet each visit! I look forward to seeing the new posts on Instagram too. They are less than a 5 min drive away from me so I love the convenience, but even if they were further I'd make the trip. I stepped into this store a few weeks ago and was so excited that a little shop like this has popped up in Orinda. The decor was cute and funky. I went in looking for clothes for my 4 year-old, which she didn't have, so I checked out the adult section for myself. I didn't leave with anything that day, as I was in a bit of hurry (sleeping kids and hubby in the car), but I'm planning on coming back very soon. Jennifer, the owner, was super friendly and helpful. She definitely has good taste in clothing, as the selections were awesome. I also love how non-stuffy the place is. The children's section has sizes for the older kids, which I was a little disappointed by because my kids are still young, but at least I've found a new little place for me! read more

Great little store! The clothes are well priced. I tried on several pairs of pants and none of them fit quite how I wanted (I'm really picky), but the owner was extremely friendly, regardless of me not buying anything. When we told her we were in town because we were considering moving to Orinda, she told us all kinds of things about Orinda, the schools, parks, different parts of town, reasons why she loved living there, etc. She was extremely personable and helpful and went out of her way to share her knowledge of the area, which was very much appreciated. The store has a little lounge area and has clearly been decorated with care for their audience of 13 and up, without being obnoxious. If I had a teen, I'd definitely bring them here and I'd stop in to check for clothes for myself if I was in the area. read more

This place is very cute and a nice addition to Orinda, but is definitely more geared towards 13-16 year-olds (think teeny jean shorts). There are so many small trinkets and whatnots it was hard to take in everything that was for sale. I hope this plays stays afloat, it's nice to see a shop geared towards the younger crowds of Orinda. read more
