Our first time in and it was lunch hour. My husband ordered breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. He said it was ok but not warm enough and the bacon seemed like it was held from the morning. I had Huevos Rancheros. It was different than I have had before. There were way too many beans, cabbage also which was unusual. I didn't eat much of it. They served our food in tin pie pans. I love yelp for finds like this. We're in town with our dogs looking for a pet-friendly restaurant with seating in the shade. This was perfect! It even has a puppy menu! Our GSD snarfed up his chicken and sweet potato, and our beagle had eggs and carrots. The carrots were looked at with disdain by the beagle, but the GSD happily cleaned her plate. As for the human food, my son got the Italian sandwich with fries. He said it was good, but the peppers were too spicy. I had the jambalaya. It tasted just like it should with the right amount of heat to make my nose run, but not be painful. The only downside is that it was super hot outside, and the food itself never cooled down so I had to eat slowly. My husband had "Mr October" and he said it was amazing! I stole some of his potatoes, and they were delicious with the fry sauce, and snuck a bite of the fried chicken, and it was great, too. The outdoor seating was perfect for the dogs. Big umbrellas to provide shade, and water bowls accessible to everyone. There is a separate outdoor entrance we didn't know about, which is great for dogs. There was music going in the background, but it was just the right volume to notice it and sing along, and not be blasted out. Our server was fantastic! Kept us filled up on water, patient with our dogs that were in the way (we were seated next to the bussing station), and just everything you'd want a server to be. We have one more day in town. J-DUB's is 'The Brunch Spot'. Excellent service starting from the second we walked through the door. We were acknowledged and promptly seated to our choice of dining areas. Space was fresh, clean, and orderly. We both ate our entire meal. Blueberry French toast was scrumptious! Crisp on the outside, soft and fluff on the inside. Yummy blueberry compote. No syrup needed. Best French toast I ever did have! Bacon was very tasty as well. Pork chop was definitely smoked to perfection and savored. Checked this place out while visiting Bend. When you walk in it has a chill vibe . There are drawings from customers all over the walls, stickers all over the merch / pay area. The other walls were decorated with some cool skis and outdoor photos. The staff was nice and laid back. Service was excellent. The food was great. I was with a party of about 10 and we all liked our food and drinks. The server was great with drink and food suggestions. I ordered the lobster roll and it was sooooooooooooo good. I had a beer (can't remember the name, sorry) and some fried pickles. The fried pickles were the best I've ever had. At the table there is a big piece of white paper and crayons. You can make your own art masterpiece while you wait. I drew a cat and they hung it above the door. My kids enjoyed the drawings and being able to draw. I definitely recommend this place. Oh man! I'm still full an hour later! J Dub is one of the 1st places I ate in Bend years ago and I'm sad to say I haven't been more than once a year since. Today once again proved that J Dub is a great spot. I've never eaten anywhere but in the bar or back patio, but both of those spots are pretty cozy/chill. They also have a large dining room up front. The bartenders have always been great and the bartender today, Josh, lived up to the #1 Bartender in Bend plaque behind the bar. I've loved all the deviled eggs I've tried here. I had a buffalo chicken one a while back that was my favorite. Today, it was a pesto-parmesan egg and it did not disappoint. For my meal, I went with the Dub Burger with onion rings. It was just as good as I remember, but way bigger! I like the spam as a stand in for bacon and who can refuse a fried egg on about anything. The onion rings were good, but not unique or outstanding. The sweet potato tots are good, but don't have the texture of a traditional tot. It's more akin to a solid piece of potato rather than a collection of potato pieces/hashbrown. I decided to give the glazed donut burger a try. I was a bit afraid but happy I went with it. It was reasonably priced at $13.00 for a good burger with bacon, cheese and fried egg sandwiched between a glazed donut. The sweet balanced the salty and worked well. We also enjoyed the lobster roll and cheese curds. I was surprised the restaurant wasn't crowded at lunch and our large group of 11 had no problem being seated. The restaurant is small and has ski motif throughout. Our server was pleasant enough and gave us our space to chat. He was a bit slow with the bill but that wasn't an issue. I had been curious about J Dub for over a year. Did my research and finally our friends wanted to have dinner at J Dub's too. We were a party of four. Arrived Thursday evening at 5:30 with the place empty. Our server Skye was pleasant , confused and funny. The confused part were questions over Sweet Potato Fries and regular Fries. How are they cooked ? Crispy, shoe string ? Through her for a loop. We ordered a Veggie Burger, Grilled Chicken Sandwhich, Fish and Chips, and a Lobster Roll. No criticism on the Chicken sandwich or Lobster Roll. I had the Fish and Chips. Three medium size pieces of Panko crusted cod fish. In my opinion the Panko crumbs dry out the fish. There could have been more Sweet Potato Fries for a dish that costs $18 . My wife had the Veggie Burger. Dry but when adding the fixings was ok. My wife and I stop by for breakfast recently while traveling to Bend. My wife had pancakes and I had the chicken fried chicken with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs. The chicken was really tender and the gravy was very flavorful with lots of sausage. My wife's pancakes were very large and fluffy. We had an opportunity to talk to John the owner for quite a while. Came in for dinner during our stay in Bend. A huge fan of deviled eggs and the deviled egg du jour was santa fe style ... tortilla chip, chicken and a salsa. It was good with generous amount of the santa fe topping. I've learned that I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to devil eggs, which these are very good (after I scraped the santa fe topping off). I think they may have good combination offerings of the deviled egg du jour, but if you are traditionalist, just order them plan. The unpearable moscow mule was light and refreshing, especially as the temps were in the 90s! The pear taste is subtle, though still noticeable. the burgers are BIG and messy - just like burgers should be. The western was great and my son devoured all of it. The no carb burger is also a generous portion and comes with amazing pickles to give it a nice clean acidic bite. The CA chicken sandwich is also big and messy, I had to use a fork and knife. The grilled chicken is cooked well ... tender and moist, which can be hard with chicken breast as it can get dry quickly. The fries are yummy and take the fry sauce, which I think is a combo of mayo and ketchup, but well perfectly with the fries. I had ordered a side of spicy 1000 island, which was also very good, but the traditional fry sauce beat it out hands down. Good hearty, comfort food. Come hungry! read more

We had an amazing breakfast here!! I loved the chicken friend chicken and their biscuit!! The biscuit with strawberry jam was the best. My friend raved about his tacos. They looked to have an extensive drink menu I would be excited to try another time. Free 2 hour parking on the street. My friend said that the only minute bad things were: his scrambled eggs were a little runny, he got a metallic taste from the pie tin in his food, and the water tasted a little off.
