My wife and I are dark beer drinkers . They did not have any on the menu so we did not have a drink. There is plenty of seating and it's a great place to stay out of the sun on a hot day.

Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

We have been going to J Dub for several years. They made our Thanksgiving dinner for us during COVID. They Welcome our four legged friends during the summer on their patio with their tasty dog menu. And their breakfast (especially the Huevos Ranchero) are my absolute favorite. But yesterday you guys kicked it up a notch for me. We were dining there with my dad (who has a neurological disorder that has him struggling to walk -- especially in our cold snowy winters). And everyone there was so kind in helping us get him into the restaurant and out to our car. And they did it in a kind, calm (not pitying way ). I just wanted you all to know how much it meant to me and my family and we will continue to support you! Thank you for spreading cheer this season! read more

Honestly folks..... The pub food around Bend is great, but J Dub has the best cooks in town. The Donut Burger on weekends is one of a kind! I actually want one right now that I'm thinking about it. We also had some stuffed deviled eggs with cheese, bacon, and other heavenly things. Easily the best appetizer I've had in a long time. The service was personable, attentive, and all around fun! We sat in the bar area and Danny made our experience that much better. This is a GREAT new place and I hope to see it continue to thrive because the food, service, and atmosphere is awesome! First time here and not pleased. When we walked in and they gave us a table in the front. Everyone else that came in after us were asked inside, outside, or bar. We would have loved to sit outside but with this being our first and last time, that option was not given to us. Maybe it was our age and they figured we wouldn't want to sit outside and have a beer. Had fried pickles and they had no taste and the sauce was horrible. Why put dill in ranch? Next we had hamburger and fries, and chicken fingers and fries. Fries were very good (why I did give them a one star). Had a wonderful crunchiness to them. We love J Dub's. Service is awesome food is average. We get the deviled eggs almost every time. Sometimes we just go to the bar for snacks and drinks. Todd is such a great guy and clearly enjoys his job. Seems like the staff really enjoy working here too. At one visit about a year ago I was looking for something salty to go with my drink but didn't want fries...Todd improvised and had them fry some tortillas or something like that and created chips for me. Since then, they have revised their menu quite a bit and now chips and pico are on the menu. Yay. Now I'm waiting for dessert to be added. :) This is definitely one of our "go-to" spots in Bend. read more

The tots with the fries dressing, I couldn't get enough but ultimately almost couldn't finish everything. Great selection of locally crafted beer as well. This place is $$$ spendy for brunch. $27.00 for eggs Bennie and they were pretty stingy with the hollandaise sauce. It was nothing spectacular. The eggs Bennie were decent and the potatoes were tasty. They took 25% off of our meals for our wait and gave us free coffee. As a former server, there is no way I would I make chill diners who did not complain or get mad pay for 75% of their meals after they waited over an hour for their food. We went to Bend, Oregon to have a brunch at Currents which is located in the River house lodge…read more The set up is really nice and the view outside along the river, they also had live music playing while we had our lunch. I had the smoked beef brisket hash, because the special of the day they sold out. The smoked beef brisket hash was okay, I was expecting a smoked flavor, but didn't seem to have it. My wife had the soup & salad combo and she enjoyed the hardy soup with the flavor and the salad was a Caesar which was fresh and crispy and tasty. Our son in law enjoyed his tuna melt and Caesar salad very much and cleaned everything that was on his plate. Our daughter had the cheese fondue with bread chucks, but hardly touched it. We also shared the baked bread with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette which was very very good. Also we shared the vegetable platter with 2 different types of humus which also was very tasty and delicious. And we also shared the fried green tomatoes with a buffet type of sauce and it went really well. If you like a nice relaxing and scenic place to enjoy and relax and have a good meal, you should try currents. The restroom is clean and well maintained and the restaurant area was clean. The staff was nice and service was good.
