The bird dogs they have are very tasty. I wish I had gotten more of those but I had a patty melt and a bird dog. The patty melt was underwhelming but I can't wait to go back and try the other bird dogs they have. read more

Amazing sandwich place! So affordable and the staff are pretty friendly! The hotdogs are my personal favorite!

I went to my old roommate Sean's wedding a while back, and at one point, I asked him about bird dogs. The look on his face was priceless--he lit up and said, "I'm so glad you asked that!" He took me to JC's, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The food and hospitality were both incredible, and my first experience with a bird dog was truly unforgettable. To top it off, I had the chance to share a table with the owners, Bubber and Jamie--two of the kindest, most welcoming people you could meet. With its small-town charm and mouthwatering food, JC's is a place you just have to try. read more

Best birddogs. Fabulous salads and the casserole is terrific. Burgers are great. They use beef tallow in the friers

Cashier messed up our order. After waiting 40 or so mins I inquired what was taking so long. The cashier said it would be 10 more mins. After waiting the other 10 mins, I asked for a refund. My food was ready, it was just sitting back there. Didn't ever get the food but we did get a refund. read more

JC's is more than a 5 out of 5...if I could give it more stars I would. It is consistently delicious with fantastic service. The best time to eat at this place is during the week when Kristie is working the order counter. She is the absolute greatest! They have the best bird dogs around with delicious homemade fries as a side. If I don't get the bird dog plate, I get egg salad on a croissant which I also highly recommend. The interior of this place gives small town vibes and is quiet/comforting. You gotta try this spot in Anderson! read more

J C's Sandwich Shoppe - Triple Ranch Bird Dogs with fries - Sandwiches Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

This place has devious short order foods. We'll known for their birddog that is a hotdog bun with chicken finger and honey mustard and cheese. They have all kinds of flavors to choose from, like Buffalo, etc. My favorites are their chicken salad and the cowboy steak sandwich. The fries are some of the best in town. Try them out, you will be very glad you did. read more

I've eaten here many time and I enjoy the salad and soup. Fast and friendly service, Ambience old fashioned restaurant that people love to visit. read more

Holy cow, where has the Bird Dog sandwich been all my life? The perfect combination of chicken, to bread, to sauce ratio! This quirky and unique sandwich joint is nothing to look at, but boy is the food great! People are friendly. It's everything you'd want from a local "hole in the wall eatery". read more

Wow! That was good eating. Got the Double Bird Dog plate. Chipotle one and regular. The Chipotle was sooo good. Definitely would get it again. Also the double is very filling. read more

Great local sandwich shop with a legendary "bird dog"-- a tender breaded chicken finger layered in a bun with honey mustard, bacon, and melted cheese. Truly awesome. Sandwiches across the board are very good and I like their fries as well--super crispy. JCs also serves soups and salads Definitely recommend! Great local shop. Plenty of seating for busy mealtimes but the place does full up for lunch and supper. There's additional parking in rear. Bustling take-out business. Pick up those orders at the side entrance. read more

J C's Sandwich Shoppe - Chipotle bird dog plate. Great flavor in the sauce and fries come out extra hot and crispy. - Sandwiches Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

We love the bird dogs!!! No one else's compares. Their homemade honey mustard is divine. If I make homemade bird dogs I come here for the honey mustard. Their salads are huge and delicious. I have not tried anything here that isn't good. read more

This hole in the wall restaurant is a great choice for food but not for service. The girls in the back are very rude, and talked trash about recent customers while customers waited on food. I was very disappointed. They talked loudly about wanting to "scare" another employee to "make her want to quit" Seemed very inappropriate. Do better with your hiring choices. read more

Bird dogs...best thing ever. Get an extra thing of sauce to dip yours in...and your fries!

I ordered and picked up a three bird dog plate.....I asked for extra honey mustard when placing my order also when I picked it up .......no extra honey mustard......they are slipping. read more

The Bird Dog seems to be the consensus way to start. As other reviews indicate, it's kind of a weird situation, order at the counter, drinks to the left in a side room, sit down and they call your name. The people were nice enough and the food was good. The portion was appropriate for the price. Nothing to make this jump up to five stars, but a solid option, but not everyday, or even every week. read more

I go here every time I come home for a visit. I currently live in the Orlando area. The Bird Dog at J C's is my favorite food ever!!

This is a wonderful gem in the big city of Anderson, South Carolina. (Slight sarcasm on the big part!) This is a locally owned sandwich shop that is very well known to all of the Andersonians. If that is indeed a term. Their signature item is a bird dog. They take two chicken tenders and put them in a hot dog bun with bacon and cheese and top it all with a delicious honey mustard. Couple that with their wonderful fries and you have a heart attack meal. But oh so delicious. They also have done a chipolte bird dog with provolone cheese and a chipolte sauce. MMMMMMM. They also have delicious soups (especially the loaded potato) and a real hometown feel. You walk into their kitchen to order and feel like you are right at home. The dining room is nothing great and some what resembles a cafeteria. But the food more than makes up for this and it is always a must go when I am at home. read more

First time ever eating here. Called at 1:50pm they said can you be here by 2:00 we close at 2. I said sure I work 5 mins down the road. Got there front door was locked and two little young girls standing there looking like they didn't have good sense. Had to call and they finally answered to tell me to come to a side door. Then they were in a big hurry. Very rude couldn't manage to give me extra butter after paying 20 dollars for lunch. Don't care how good their food is I will NEVER be back. Maybe the owner should find someone besides little kids to run their business. read more

2 words...bird dog! You have to try the bird dog plate. Imagine a hot dog with chicken fingers and bacon instead of a dog, then add cheddar cheese and honey mustard. So good! Must come back! read more

AMAZING!!!! The bird dogs here are sooooo good! I crave them often! Pretty much anything you order here is great! You won't be disappointed!! read more

One thing that attracted us to JC's was their claim to have one of the best Reubens in town. I am sorry to say that their Reuben is mediocre at best. The meat was cold. The cheese wasn't melted. The sauerkraut was also cold. The sandwich was barely grilled. If you going to advertise a Reuben as being great I suggest learning how to properly prepare one. read more

The food is good. Chicken salad is excellent BUT the staff is RUDE. Calling in an order is not for the faint of heart. They make you feel as if they are doing you some kind of favor. read more

I love eating bird dogs at JC's. It's not a trip home to Anderson without stopping in and getting a double bird dog plate with a large extra honey mustard. The bird dogs get a lot of play, but the house made honey mustard really brings the thunder. If they'd bottle it, I'd buy it by the case. read more

Usually I love JC's...really I do. I no longer live in Anderson but always make a point to go there when I come back. Today, however, may have ruined it for me. 30 minutes after we ordered and still hadn't received our food one of the employees came out to tell us they didn't have the stuff to make our salads. So we chose the bird dog (where you can never go wrong, I just wanted to attempt to be healthy today). The food was delicious, like always, but we did have to wait over half an hour to get it. However, the WORST part was that when I went to get my drink there was MOLD hanging from the spouts on the soda machine. I quickly told the lady delivering food to the tables and she told her boss who came in and said, "Oh, we don't even know how to get those off to clean them". Gross. I worked in food service for 7 years and we were always required to take those off at the end of the night so they could soak until morning. Now hopefully this was an honest mistake and they aren't just slack about it. Hopefully they will start cleaning it from here on out. Just, when I see stuff like that I wonder what else isn't being cleaned like it's supposed to be. They make a bird dog that is unrivaled, next time I go I may just call ahead so I don't have to wait and take it to go so I can get my drink elsewhere. read more

Git dat bird dawg! LOVE JC's variety of bird dawgs! Ghost pepper, Chipotle etc! Would visit more if the hours were longer.

I love coming here and having lunch. I always order their house salad. The dressing is homemade and always fresh. Their soups are also incredibly delicious. I'm able to get in and out quickly. The best part...the staff. Amazing! Just a wonderful experience overall, every time! read more

Best bird dogs around!!! And their five cheese grilled cheese is amazing! Definitely a local place that everyone goes to. College students, school teachers, doctors, everyone eats at JCs. You'll see why when you and your family go to eat here :) read more

This place is another Anderson favorite. I just love locally owned businesses and think that they should be supported over the restaurant chains. These people know what they're doing!! They are famous for their bird dogs, but everything else on the menu is just a note worthy. My favorites are their fried green tomatoes and potato soup. Service is fast and friendly and I've never had a disappointing experience. read more

A little on the slow side but well worth the wait. Everyone deserves to experience the famous bird dog!

Incredible food and friendly service. Can be slow service but its worth the wait! So delicious and friendly staff.

Had a birddog with honey mustard and cheese and was impressed never had one before but really liked it. Fries that came with it were good as well. This is a family run place and was clean and the people accommodating and friendly read more

Every time that I am in Anderson, I eat here. The bird dog is my favorite and the fries are better than McDonalds.

I love this place. Best pimento cheese on the planet. They use five kinds of cheese. Been going here every the doors open. The owners, Bubba and his wife Jamie are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Their cooks are to knotch. Best soup anywheres. read more
