Stopped in based on reviews and got the chef special order of chicken over rice to go. Everything was delicious and made fresh. I just took off one star because the sauce didn't have as much flavor. read more

Great food and a super reasonable price. I'll be back definitely. Friendly staff, and a large selection.

You cannot go wrong with Pita Way! Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious. Their service is even better! The sweetest people and best food! read more

Very delicious and affordable, always make sure to stop by on my way home from work! The staff are very friendly as well!

We've wanted to visit this restaurant for months and finally stopped today. Wow, there is something special about this place. We were greeted warmly by friendly smiling staff members who were attentive but we never felt rushed as we scanned the menu. Many wonderful choices but we settled on falafel appetizer and chicken gyro special. Fresh ingredients and cooked to order.. yum! We couldn't eat it all but had to try the baklava anyway. Delicious. Our leftovers will be dinner tonight. The place was clean and comfortable with spacious booths and lots of natural light. It has that retro community diner vibe. I watched several "regulars" come in to get their to-go plates and start up conversations instead of staring at their phones. We look forward to visiting again. read more

Great reviews on Yelp had me take the detour off of I-85 to give this 5 star joint a try for an early lunch. I've been really enjoying Mediterranean food and have found some really good places during my weekly travel for work. Geez, I think I'm being generous with the three stars here and was really considering only two. I can't quite figure out the high ratings. The server was very nice and did a good job. But Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils with dried out, bland chicken shawarma and flavorless rice just suprised the heck out of me from a place with such ratings. I'm not sure what kind of olive oil is being used, if at all, the dressing for the greek salad sure didn't taste like an olive oil base. I've never ever experienced pickles on a greek salad either which definitely seems strange. read more

Everyone was so nice and attentive. Food was ready quickly and was simple, delicious and authentic. The Greek dressing was the BEST I've ever eaten. Another customer was commenting to the owners about needing to bottle/sell it and I totally agree! Will be back. I forgot to take a photo because we ate it so fast. Ordered: gyro wrap, falafel, hummus and pita and Greek salad with gyro meat (beef and lamb). read more

Beef or chicken shawarma wrap is my go-to. Philly steak is also very good. Service is always pleasant and speedy. Restaurant is comfortable and homey. read more

I am not sure this place is worthy of all those stars given years ago. First time visiting. Found the place empty of customers. The meat (chicken) was not fresh, but frozen, thawed in microwave, then grilled. This made the meat dry and a little rubbery. Not sure why as they have a meat spit there on the counter. It is just not being used. Maybe they are not busy enough? The salad was fresh and good which helped. I think the white sauce provided was supposed to be tzatziki but it tasted off so I did not use it. Might have just been me but did not want to chance it. The place is small and a little dingy. The grill area did not look like it had been cleaned in a while. Some grease splatter and aluminum foil used on the back. The kind of thing you would do to avoid cleaning so that the foil could be replaced instead. Pretty disappointed as I was hoping to get good fresh Mediterranean food. It is not a place I would visit again. read more

We love the local, authentic options that this family business serves. Constant great service and food. I loved that they had things to try and experience the just anywhere has. Not everyone serves lamb or falafel's if I even spelled that correctly! read more

I have passed this place on my way to work for the last 3 years and always thought "that place looks good, I should try it". Well I finally did and let me tell you, it is amazing! A good Mediterranean restaurant without having to drive all the way to Greenville. The food was great but also the service was fantastic which makes it all the better. Don't be discouraged by the size of this place, it is a small restaurant with BIG flavor! read more

Pita Way - Chicken Shawarma with rice and greek salad - Mediterranean Near Me - Anderson, South Carolina

Very good food. I really like Greek and Mediterranean food. We live in Houston and have access to a lot of this type of food. This place has very good food, good service and it is clean and friendly. I will return for future visits to try the gyros, beef and other dishes which all looked very good. If simple, clean and good quality food is what your after. Give this a try. read more

Sam offers amazing gyros, souvlaki, and falafel, but you can also get Philly cheesesteaks and meatball subs!! Love to eat here! read more

Sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. I had the Pepoer steak sub and it was delicious; with fresh cooked fries. They have Greek gyros and falafel sandwich and all are served with fries. read more

Some of the absolute best Greek food I have ever had, I would add a picture but I inhaled it too fast.

I do not understand how this place has so many good reviews. Maybe they had friends enter them...Anyway, it took 35 minutes to get our food. I later found out they had a huge to go order, this should have been mentioned when we placed our order. I wish the food would have been worth the wait. Very bland and served on a styrofoam plate. Not worth the $32 including tip for two people. read more

The absolute best Tabhouli salad I've had in years. Get it. The hummus is classic and perfect. Very mild and creamy. Falafel is matched only by Israeli chefs. Wow. Get here read more

Love the Gyro meal. Diner style seating. I go here about every two weeks. Owner is attentive and friendly.

Our food was great, but even more impressive was watching one man, the owner, doing everything. Cooking, taking orders, refilling drinks, clearing tables, handling carry out orders;he was a dynamo. Best gyro I've ever had and a delightful experience. Will definitely be back. read more

Thanks to Yelp for again helping me find a local off the beaten path spot. This place is in what looks to be an old Waffle House. The owner was literally the only guy working there and he did EVERYTHING. They have a selection of American and Mediterranean foods! I ordered the Greek salad with chicken added on top and hummus for a starter with a coworker. Both were delicious and the salad was MASSIVE! I like how they make the food right when you order it, nothing is pre-made etc and everything tasted so fresh! The owner also has the best mustache ever!!! read more

Friendly, quick service. We had the humus and it was really fresh and good. The Veggie Wrap was excellent. The cheese was perfectly melted. I wish we had a place like this where we live. I would eat here every day. The couple that owns it is really sweet, kind, and helpful. read more

Excellent food, amazing customer service from Sam and family! Fair priced! Go! Get you a Philly cheese steak

If you're in Anderson looking for a quick meal at a proper diner look nowhere else, sure they may not have burgers and hashbrowns but when I tell you they have the best damn Mediterranean food you'll eat at a fantastic price, I mean it. I've ate here for two years now since my move to Anderson, I've never had a bad experience, I've never had a bad meal, and I've sadly never seen this placed packed out like it deserves. The service is great to be ran by one-two people, the restaurant feels like what you'd want out of an old fashioned diner, sure they may not have a jukebox, but there's plenty of seating, and just a great hole in the wall feel. I really do love this place, as the signs say, eat more gyros! read more

As someone else mentioned, this place is a hidden gem. First, it's unique as it's probably the only place in town you'll be able to get a shawarma. With that said....it's amazing! If you like food, give this place a try, I bet you'll go back for more. Support your local businesses, folks! read more

I'm going to start by saying OMG! I didn't know this place had the best shawarma in the business! As a northerner this literally tastes like home! I'm surprised this place isn't packed because of how good the food is. If any northerners are really missing Greek food then this is the place to come! read more

Fast, friendly, and fresh. We dig it. After looking at other reviews and craving some easy Mediterranean food, we decided to stop in during a visit to Anderson. Laid back, casual atmosphere, family and college crowd friendly. We will visit again when we come back to town. We had the hummus appetizer, beef-lamb gyro, philly cheese steak, and shawarma. All very good. read more

This place is amazing. Honestly, it does not look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled, the food is incredible. So delicious. We eat here regularly and are never disappointed. I heard he was delicious and trying it only confirmed it. Highly recommend it to anyone. read more

Don't let the outside of this restaurant scare you away. You can find some of the best food in Anderson here. The cook cuts and marinates his own Philly cheese steak meat... Who does that? Nearly everything here is hand made, especially the Mediterranean food. It is truly a hidden gem with a very friendly staff. Highly recommended. read more

The tabbouleh salad is to die for. (Had to look up how to spell it ) The humus is delish and the falafel is crispy and savory. There are other dishes on the menu I haven't tried yet. Looking forward to it. Did I mention the parsley is fresh? The tomatoes so sweet? The dressing so good. All are fresh, fresh. And the restaurant is soooo clean. Such a joy to enter, once I realized where it is. My Mediterranean cravings have a place to be satisfied. I like the other place in Anderson. It's good, but this place has tabbouleh, falafel and shwarma and more variety. Both are great -- but I really recommend you check out Pita Way. read more

The following were good: wings, chicken gyro, greek dressing/vinaigrette and pita bread. The following were just ok: beef sharwma plate, greek salad, hummus, and fries. The beef was not tender, the greek salad had canned pickles on it, the garlic sauce was bland - it needed a lot more fresh garlic, the hummus was very bland, and they do not season the fries (big problem). The service was good. The couple running the place are very sweet and hardworking people. The restaurant decor does not look good but the restaurant was clean. If they would season their food, make the dishes more authentic, and invest a couple of thousand bucks into renovations, this could be a great place. read more

Never judge a book by its cover, image isn't everything, and refuse to believe that the exterior of a restaurant tells the story of what is produced inside. What was once a Waffle House at some point, years ago, is now home to a hidden gem. Pita Way is authentic Mediterranean food on a budget, but it is short on cost and long on taste. Isn't that what we truly want? In a time when Mediterranean cuisine is seemingly all the rage in some communities, a diner can hardly swing a dead cat without hitting a restaurant that serves something resembling a gyro and considers itself kitschy and worthy of praise from anyone who darkens their door instead of wandering into the fast food joint down the street. But simply offering a gyro is a far cry from actually serving authentic Mediterranean food. Pita Way, however, is legitimate, budget Mediterranean fare, and plenty of bang for your buck Wherever I go, if I have the opportunity to order chicken shawarma, as a pita, a plate, a wrap, a sandwich, or whatever incarnation the kitchen can think up, I am going to do so. As a foodie/food critic/reviewer/snob, your favorite items are always judges by your highest standards. I am struck by the contrast that Pita Way brings to its diners. Such an unassuming appearance on the outside, and such quality on the inside. The chicken shawarma pita is remarkably good, rich in flavor, freshly cooked, seasoned well but not overly so, which tends to be the downfall of so many dishes, Mediterranean or otherwise. The garlic sauce is excellent, and it made me smile to see it doled out from a mayonnaise jar, evidence of the fact that this place, in every way, is an example of substance over flash, a pleasant change from the litany of places whose focus skews in the opposite manner. The pita is stacked with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and garlic sauce, resulting in exactly what I sought: a simple, filling dish at a bargain price. That very fact is why I made sure to make a return trip on my way out of town, not knowing when I would be back through Anderson again. The service was friendly, fast, and attentive and the cherry on top of the dining experience. On my first visit, the owner himself was handling the cooking as well as the service. There's just something about someone who looks and sounds the part when you're at a place that serves cuisine from a specific region, with the mustache, the accent, and the pleasant disposition. For whatever reason, it makes the visit just a little more memorable. There was another man there the second time around, and the attention paid to our table's every need was exceptional. Whether or not my next trip south will take me through Anderson remains to be seen, but if I find myself within a half an hour of Pita Way, ahead of schedule and on an empty stomach, I'm sure the GPS will be temporarily reprogrammed. read more
